I was watching TV last weekend when they showed a trailer for the new "Dark Shadows" movie starring Johnny Depp. The second the commercial was over the phone rang. It was my sister. "What did they do to our TV show? How could they do that to a classic?!" she yelled. You see..when we were kids..my sister and I would run home from school every afternoon to watch "Dark Shadows" with my mom. It was our favorite show. It scared the crap out of us..but we wouldn't have missed it for anything! btw..to those of you that have heard me talk about the 'fringe' towel..this is where it started! :D I still remember Quentin, Angelique and of course Barnabas..the vampire that seemed to actually be a nice guy sometimes..at least until his fangs appeared! We absolutely loved the show. I was intrigued when I read that Johnny Depp was going to star in the new movie. I figured that with Tim Burton directing..it would have to be good. Well..I didn't know exactly what to think when I saw the trailer last week. I could kinda understand what my sister was upset about..it almost seems wrong that it's going to be a comedy..but then again..it could work too..it's hard to tell. What do you think?

Zona Thanks for the blog. I don't recall the show so don't have any sentimental attachment. I do, however, think this movie looks like great fun. I want to see it. Thanks for sharing.

She has developed this penchant for chasing bunny wabbits and she gets so dirty...
All that long hair was cute I think she will be happy being able to terrorize the bunnies...and not go thru the combing and brushing...
Zona~ Didn't watch the show.....don't know what it was about.....but when I saw this trailer during a NASCAR race....I was totally excited that my man had another movie coming out~ YAY~ Tell sis to put her big gurl panties on and git over it! (tell her to put a pad on too.....she'll need it when she watches Johnny!) :)~

YAY!!! The principal's wife found me a program from the musical!!! All is not lost~ AND....she had my gurl in her office at the time she was e-mailing me....so I gave her a list of stuff to lecture her on....all is right in my world~ :D
I don't chase rabbits and get messy....besides...my hair has just gotten long enough for an "I Dream of Jeannie" pony tail!!

Zona, I watched the first Dark Shadows and also when they revived it (for a short time) in the 90s. My Uncle Mike was a BIG fan and when Chad worked at Blockbuster they had all the videos from the first soap. They were selling them for $1 each so I bought them all and sent then to my Uncle. He was thrilled. I will be seeing the movie!
Michael, Steroids you say? I think I'll use that excuse, too.

I've heard 21 Jump Street is really funny. And I read that Peter DeLuise, Richard Greico AND...Johnny Depp make un-credited appearances.

Thanks for the comments everyone..Randy can't wait to see this movie..so I know I'll be seeing it too. I guess I'm just having a disconnect with the movie vs. the original show. I'm sure I'll like it though..cuz I like Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. I read somewhere that Johnny Depp loved the original series so much he wanted to BE Barnabas when he was a kid..looks like he got his wish!
MICHAEL: I think Joan Bennett was the only relatively normal person on the show..and she never left the house!
TINA: It was about vampires..werewolves..witches..warlocks..and ghosts..the usual.. ;D
