~ Pinyon Fire ~

by Tina~in_ut

There's ash all over my patio and patio furniture. Yesterday the whole valley smelled like burning wood. It was a mess here. Just south of my house, it looked like Eagle Mountain was on fire. Actually, it's looked like that since Monday. On Monday, the smoke was white....and I thought it went away. On Tuesday, there was some smoke, and it was black....but just a little....and it went away.....I thought, yet again. But on Wednesday, it was everywhere. It filled the valley and you couldn't see a thing. Homes were evacuated. The fire's still not contained. A friend of mine used to live not too far from there. She moved to Idaho. She wrote something weird on FB so I asked her about it. LOL.....the wench just moved back to the same neighborhood and is praying she won't have to evacuate. Ugh~ Anyway, I found this "cool" video online. Who has time to do this?

Morning Glories!

Stay safe Tina! I hope they get the fires put out soon.

Waving at all of the owls. Times seems to be flying and my days seem to be getting away from me.

Good morning Lynn. You look glorious today. I love the pic of Eva. I hope the days are flying for you because you're having fun.

Tina, I haven't heard about this fire. I guess I've been watching too much of the Olympics and not enough news. What makes the fire burn white and then turn black? I hope it doesn't get too close to your house.

I am waiting, yet again, for the Clark man to come and get rid of a hornet's nest that has taken up residence in the sprinkler control box. He was here when Lynn and J/L were here and he said he got rid of it, but I went out there to change the timer and there were a bunch of hornets flying around again. I haven't moved that fast in years! I am afraid they will be able to get into the house, because there is a hole in the wall for the electrical cord which is plugged in an outlet inside the house. YIKES!

Where the heck IS everyone? Was it something I said?

Dianne, will your boss not let you check in on the nest during working hours?

Zona, have you melted in this heat?

J/L, I know you are awake!

Well the Clark man was finally here and he said the hornets should REALLY be gone this time although it will probably take a couple days to kill them. He will check back on Tuesday to make sure. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi--I'm here and didn't work today. Didn't want to drop by until all the hornets were gone---I was scared!!! Glad they got them all this time Barb. Kathy has a nest in an old car--ask her about them. They chase her around the swimming pool.

Hi Lynn: well, this summer has gone slow to me but I think that is because of the dang heat and the fact that Louis has been recovering all summer. Yep, it's been a long summer.

Boy Tina, I hope they get those fires out. We all sure need some rain, don't we?

hello ladies~ beautiful Lynn....Sackie....haven't watched anything of the Olympics~....Di~ we got rain today~

The fire is mostly out.....but we had a thunderstorm today....they think lightning is what started the fire, so that's scary~ I drove south today and could see the charred mountains....really close to houses.....but not close enuf~ Thank God~

Sackie~ SOOOO GLAD ur little visitors will be gone......those hornets nests are nasty~

Di~ I'm so glad summer is almost over.....the kids are going back to school in a little over a week~ They are all very busy working and getting ready~ I tried to sell the twins to the Principal's wife.....but she wouldn't take them....I hat her~

Hi everyone...

TINA: Scary vid..had to turn the music off..it was pretty but for some reason it was kinda creeping me out..not sure why. We had a couple lightning based fires start last night in the Tonto National Forest..I haven't heard anymore about them..so I assume they are under control. Glad yours are too..

LYNN: Hey pretty lady! Time and summer can't fly by fast enough for me..js..

BARB: I haven't melted yet..but some days it sure feels like I'm going to! We are actually swimming at night now..it's just way too hot to swim during the day anymore..

DI: Randy says 'this year for sure' on that hornet's nest..we shall see..it's probably the size of...well..I don't even want to think about it..

Have a good night all..try to stay cool!

Tina, you've been trying to sell those kids for years!!! Couple of more years and you will be empty nesting and sad.

Hi, HOoters! I had to go have more blood drawn today. I'm beginning to feel like a pin cushion. I have a feeling that when all this is said and done, I will be told that I bleed under the skin easily because I'M OLD!!!!

Lynn You're so cute with those chubby cheeks. :)

Dianne Yes, praying for rain. The whole country needs it.

After that last comment, I'll probably find out that some part of the country is flooding. :(

Zona Ooooooh! Moonlight seems can be very romantic. Plus, hornets don't fly at night, right?
