Senior Golf

by Dianne

Beverly is 90 years old. She's played golf every day since her retirement 25 years ago. One day she arrives home looking sad.

"That's it," she tells her husband, Gus, "I'm giving up golf. My eyesight has become so bad that once I hit the ball I can't see where it went."

Her husband makes her a cup of tea, and says, "Why don't you take me with you and give it one more try."

"That's no good" sighs Beverly, "you're a hundred and three. You can't help."

"I may be a hundred and three," says Gus, "but my eyesight is perfect."

So the next day Beverly heads off to the golf course with her Gus. She tees up, takes a mighty swing and squints down the fairway.

She turns to the husband and says, "Did you see the ball?"

"Of course I did!" replied Gus, "I have perfect eyesight".

"Where did it go?" says Beverly.

"I don't remember."

Good Morning everyone - It's a cloudy, fall-like kind of day in the Pacific North West. Hopefully the sun and warmth will return. How is it in your neck of the woods?

Dianne - That's a funny story. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a true one in our lives.

Zona - I am feeling all better today. Looking forward to your morning call.

Michael - Thinking of you as always.

Must feed my "fur babies". Have a great day all owls everywhere.

This joke could be my house if we played golf! !!!

Morning pretty in pink Tink!! You sure look bright eyed at first. I'm sure glad you are feeling better today.

I'm going to have lunch today with a friend I grew up with many years ago. We re-connected on FB about a year ago and this will be our third fet together. She lives about three hours out of Denver so we try to meet at a fairly middle area. It will be fun to see her.

Hope when you owls wake up you have a good day. Maybe you need to become more morning people like I am. (right I've hardly seen a sunrise but plenty of sunsets) :)

DI: HA! This is me now..never mind at 103...only on top of not remembering where the ball went..I wouldn't remember that she even hit it in the first place!! :D

TINKA: It's going to be 107 today..would you like me to send a little of that your way? I'd be willing to try! :D

I'm glad you're feeling better..talk to you soon! :)

TINKA: A pineapple slush is a delicious concoction made of ice and pineapple..they shave the ice really fine and mix it with pineapple tidbits and juice..it's sooooo good.. :)

DI: As a matter of fact..one was for you!

Gotta run..late making Rand's lunch for work!

Have a good day everyone!

Dianne, there is too much truth in that joke, but it is funny.

Zona, I liked yesterday's song. I have not heard Jeff Daniels sing before. I really like Craig Ferguson, but I rarely get to see him. My night owl days are getting shorter.

Tinka, you look lovely in first today. I will try to send some of our beautiful California sunshine to you today.

Tinka You look lovely in first today. I'm so glad you are feeling better. Our weather at the moment is just like yours. Things can change quickly around here, though, so one must be ready for anything.

Dianne That was funny and a little too true for comfort, I think.....oh, wait....I can't remember....

Zona If you want to lose about 10 degrees, you can send them this way.

SacBarb Well, now I know where yesterday's sunshine went. All I see now is a white marine layer hanging overhead. Summer on the coast is not always that summery.

Good afternoon Zona, Barb and Just-Lin.

Up from my nap and having a lovely sandwich Jack made and left for me. I am also having a diet coke which is my way of waking up. As soon as I get feeling perky we are off for our walk. The sun has come out but it is not too hot to walk my babies

Zona - I want a pineapple slush but I don't think we have them here. I guess I will have to fly to AZ to get one. It sounds refreshing.

Barb - You are right. There is a bit too much truth in that story. If it wasn't so funny it would be sad.

Just-Lin - If Zona sends you ten degrees and me ten degrees then I think she will be comfortable too. How about it Mrs. Z?

Have a great afternoon and evening all owls in and out of the nest.
