Where to start? Where to begin? It is hard to start the story of my grandma there is just so much to say. She lived a rich life full of travel, hardship, and love. I watched my grandpa say good-bye to his beautiful bride of 63 years. Her three children are mourning together peacefully. Her 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren have been swapping funny grandma stories all weekend.
I think I will talk about my favorite memories. One of my favorite memories of her is playing Bingo with her on Friday nights at the American Legion. Boy, could she play that game. She could play many cards at once and not miss a number. She also kept one eye her cards and one eye on my one card in case I missed a number. She always sat in the same place with her good luck charms in front of her cards. We would pig out on grilled cheese sandwiches and french fries. The smoke at that place was awful, but being with my grandma was priceless. I would have went anywhere to be with her.
Besides Bingo, she also had me hooked on Lawrence Welk. My grandma could find his reruns all the time. I loved watching her smile as she listed to all those treasured songs. Boy did that show make her happy!
She was also an avid camper. I loved visiting her at the campgrounds and playing in her camper. It was so much fun especially with my six other cousins. I wish I could be in her camper again!
Do you have any favorite memories of your grandma? She was the only grandma I ever had, I sure do miss you grandma.

hi
iteach, very sweet blog about your grandma.
I remember watching Lawrence Welk with my gram too. She couldn't really hear very well, but she was just happy to see the dancing and have me sit with her, holding her hand.

Happy Tuesday!!
Birdee - congrats on FIRST!!
Iteach - great tribute to your grandmother.
I have fond memories of both of my grandmothers - you made me think of them this morning and smile.. Thank you for that!!
Waving howdy to all who land..
I hope everyone has an excellent day!
:-)
Birdee~ congrats on first~
Good morning, mek~
Oh Iteach~ I was young when I lost my grandma and my other one was gone before I was born. I remember once telling my grandma that I was thirsty and she looked at me and said, "No. You're Tina!" I didn't get it at first, but when I did, we made a game out of it. I don't remember ever getting a drink, tho~ :D I'm glad you are remembering the happy times.
Good Morning Hooters!
Congrats on 1st Birdee!
iteach, I am happy that you have those wonderful memories of your Grandma. Thanks for sharing. I have always been jealous of people who have those kind of memories.
I have no memories, because I only met my Grandma's a few times when I was little. My parents both immigrated to the USA from Germany. They met in Chicago, married and had 3 kids.
I have never spent a holiday with relatives. No Aunts, Uncles's, cousins, nadda. It was always my Mom, Dad, sister, brother and I until we each married and had kids.
I think that is why I try to be such a part of my grandbabies lives. I want them to KNOW their crazy-ass Grandma and tell stories when I'm long gone!
Hi to Birdee and MEK and tina~
Morning, Birdee, MEK, Tina, Goldie and iteach!
iteach: I only knew one grandparent, my maternal grandmother, who died in 1988. She used to lecture my older sister all the time about how to live a proper life and stay out of trouble. As a male, I was spared that! LOL!
She liked Lawrence Welk too!
Back in 1980, my Dad hosted a 75th birthday party for my Grandmother in Toronto. The night before, I got arrested for drunk driving! Oopsies!
Good morning!
Both of my grandmas were wonderful, I was lucky to grow up knowing both of them.
My dads mom was a little Italian lady who died 2 years ago this month. She was 100 years old!
She loved playing bingo and played almost til the end.
In fact one day, at age 97, she was going to go play bingo and fell off the couch getting ready to catch the bus to the bingo hall. She broke her hip and ended up having surgery, sailing through that and the months of rehab that followed.
She also loved going on day trips to Reno. She loved the 1-armed bandits, and would line up 3 of them, guarding them fiercely. God forbid the person who innocently tried to play one of her machines!!!
My moms mom died almost 3 years ago, next month will mark that anniversary.
She was unique, she was pregnant with her first child before she was married, smoked and drank and basically broke all the rules of her time.
She also lived through some devastation. Her husband was killed in WWII, 2 of her daughters drowned in a canal, 1 was being pulled under by the current and the other tried to save her and both died. She also lost her second husband to cancer. And one of her sons right now is close to death (the one I mentioned 2 days ago).
She also had one of the filthiest mouths, she LOVED the "F" word.
One of the funniest things I'd ever heard her say was when she met MR. EBJ. It was our second day there, and we were staying at her house.
My uncle had taken her grocery shopping, they returned and she was putting her groceries away and she came into the living room where MR. EBJ and I were watching tv.
She was carrying a cucumber, she held it up to MR. EBJ and told him "I want you to meet my new boyfriend".
He was shocked, but thought it was hysterical. I had warned him about her and she pulled out all the stops. She loved to get a rise from people.
Thank you for the wonderful blog today Iteach! And I'm so sorry for your loss.
Congrats on first Birrrrrrdee!
Good morning to MEK, Goldie, Tina and Whab!
Good Morning Birdee - # 1
Sorry I wasn't able to post yesterday. It was a great blog Carol wrote about you.
Good Morning Mek, Goldie, Bear, and East Bay J.
I am rushing to my doctor's appointment. It's snowing out so I am waiting for a ride.
Iteach - What a beautiful tribute to your grandma. I wonder if she has met my mom yet. Mom loved Bingo and Lawrence Welk too.
I was five years old when I said good bye to my Nana and left Halifax. I never saw her again. I think having a Grandma is the best thing in this world. They give such unconditional love.
Tina - It was great talking to you, Dianne and Zona on the phone yesterday. It sounded like you were having such fun.
Jodi - Please call again. I keep missing your calls and I love to get them.
Here's my ride. I will be back later. Have a great day.
EBJ: OMG! LMAO!
Mr EBJ should have had a sharp comeback, like, "Hey, Baby! Now that I'm around, you won't need it"!!!
Good Morning BIRRRRRRDEE, MEK, TINA, GOLDIE, BEAR, EBJ, & TINK
ITEACH Your grandmother must be reading your post and smiling at you.
I have fond memories of going to the South End Rowing Club at the bay in S.F. with my grandparents. My grandmother always made a huge thermos full of hot chocolate. I can still remember how good it tasted, and for some reason, I have never tasted chocolate as good as hers since those days. She lived to the age of 92 and held my daughter once before she died. My mother's mother died before I was born. My mother talked about her and I always wished I could have known her.
Thank you for your post ITEACH. I hope you found comfort in writing it.
Okay, I'm back. Once again, I had to put on my sweater after seeing BIRDEE'S avatar. :)
Speaking of avatars, what happened to some of your avatars? Did they fly away? We know BIRDEE can't get any lift off with all of that snow on her back. LOL
TINA, we know where you got your great humor.
I always wished I had a large family at holiday diners GOLDIE.
Yo BEAR, did you get a lecture about how to stay out of trouble after the DUI? :)
EBJ, you certainly come from hearty stock! BTW, did you and Mr. EBJ ever eat salad at her house after that intro?
TINK, I am so happy you are feeling like yourself once again.
Birdee Congrats on first! Looks like you had to stand out in the snow again!
EBJ I'm still laughing!!!!
Bear Little did your grandmother know, but you were the one who needed the lectures! LOL
iteach That was a lovely tribute to your grandmother. It's great that you have those sweet memories. I don't really have any memories of my paternal grandma. She died wehn I was 4 or 5. When I was a baby, we lived next door to my maternal grandma. She was a small woman with hair that hung down to her butt. As a small child, I used to love to brush it. We moved away from there (Florida) and to California when I was about 4. I didn't see my grandma again until I was 20. Throughout my childhood, though, we would write letters to each other and she would send me dimes attached to the letters with white bandaging tape. She also painted small pictures in the Grandma Moses style. She met Grandpa through being pen pals with him during WWI.
Iteach, I loved your tribute to your Grandma. Thanks you for sharing.
I remember visiting my Mother's Mom in Texas as a child. She used to bathe us in a metal tub outside her little house. I never saw her again as an adult. I remember how heart broken my Mother was when she couldn't attend her funeral.
My Dad's Mom was quite feisty! She was very strict. I don't remember seeing her smile too many times, she def. was not a hugger. She was a great cook and very religious.
One time at the age of 70 she was walking to the market when a big guy tried to grab her purse. I guess she hit him several times with her purse and gave him a good tongue lashing! He did not get it!
My Aunt (her daughter) scolded her. Seems she only had a few dollars in her purse. Grandma said, "that was MY money" lol!
Whabbear, U R a stinker!
Lani, LOL on the salad!!
BBL I have a bunch of ironing to catch up on!
MARY, I think you got the best of both grandmothers.
SLIN, I think I might bake a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I will bring some over to you. :):):)
HI Everyone!
ITEACH: What a beautiful blog you have written today in tribute to your grandmother. I loved reading about her. I am so sorry for your loss.
I remember both of my grandmother's very well. My mom's mom lived in Cleveland until she retired and then came to live with us. I was in high school by then. She was barely five feet tall, but boy was she something else. She taught us all the dances from the 20's and tried to teach us Russian. For some reason, I can only remember the semi-naughty words. And what a cook. OMG! I'd come home from school and she would have taken over the kitchen. It was just heaven. After dinner she would tell us stories of her life and about her mother, who had grown up in Russia. I just loved to listen to her.
My dad's mom had a falling out with us when I was about nine. She was angry that my aunt and cousins were living with us. I didn't talk to her again until I was a teenager. Suffice it to say..when she got angry, she got really hardcore angry. Once all the differences were resolved though, we never spoke of them again.
My grandmothers couldn't have been more different from one another. Except for one thing. Both were fiercely independent.
I think I appreciate them much more now. I wish I would have spent so much more time talking to them.
Thank you ITEACH, for the heartwarming blog today. Thanks for giving me a chance to remember.
BIRDEEEE!!! Congrats on FIRST!
TINA: Yep, last night was boring!! I can just imagine you saying the same thing your grandmother said to you!!
GOLDIE: My dad's mom was from Germany. As she got older, she spoke German more and more. We'd have to remind her to speak English so we could understand her. She'd smile and say "Maybe I don't want you to understand me!" I have a feeling I could have learned even more dirty words!! ;)
BEAR: My mom's mom would always tell my sister and I to be 'nice' girls. She would say "Just remember, keep your legs together!" ;)
EBJ: My grandmothers loved the casinos too! LOL @ the cucumber!!!
My dad's mom was trying to flirt with my uncle and she asked him if she could ride with him when he drove his T-bird back to Cleveland. My uncle, who was Italian and had a very heavy accent, just looked at her and said, very seriously, "My age. Your age. You pay." OMG!! She was so mad!!!! We laughed..when she wasn't there of course..about this for years.
LANI: Isn't it strange that even if you make the exact same recipe, things your grandmother or mom made never taste quite as good. Must be missing their love, ya think?? :)
MARY: My dad's mom smacked some guy over the head with her purse too! I'm not even sure he was trying to take it! :)
J/LIN: I would love to see some of those paintings..do you have pictures anywhere??
TINK: It was wonderful talking to you yesterday. I'm so glad you got to talk to TINA and DIANNE!! I hope you get a clean bill of health from the doctor! Love you! :D
MEK: It was good to see you over the weekend..I really thought I would never stop laughing.
Come to think of it...I don't think I ever did!! :D
TINA and DIANNE: It was a blast. I miss you so much. ~sigh~
Better go make MR. Z lunch...he's getting Milk Duds and Gatorade! ;)
ZONA, it looks like we have similar backgrounds. My mother and her parents immigrated from Russia and my father's father's roots were in Germany.
I remember my maternal grandfather so well. I still melt to this day when I hear a Russian accent or hear Russian songs.
Lani,MUAH!!
Zona, Sometimes "quiet" can be deafening eh?
Sounds like a our Grandmas were pretty strong women. I know I am a Grandmother, but just can't relate to the Grandmas of the past. I think their lives were harder than ours. I hope I am making good memories for my Grandchildren.
Birdee~ Should we take up a collection for a winter coat for you? They should be on sale about now!
MEK~ I thought about you today while I was out getting the mail, (seemed like a mile away today!). It will not be getting over 22* today. Is the guest room ready for company?
VIG: I'm thinking about you and missing you. Hope you're feeling better today. :)
ZONA Don't mess with those Russian women!LOL
Never tastes the same....Amen to that!
Mr. Z's lunch is very similar to that of a Christmas dinner I had with my friend Laurel one year. LOL
I loved seeing the wonderful pictures of the 4 of you during your visit. You looked like sisters getting together.
LANI: I love Russian accents too. My sister is actually trying to learn the language.
Are you part Irish too, by any chance?? :)
MARY: The silence is crushing. I never realized it as much as I do now.
Mr. Z is out the door and now I'm gonna feed Nikki. BBIAB!!
ZONA...adendum....I was thinking the same thing. I think the love that went into it and the fond memories mixed in.
Reminds me also of Lifeboy soap. The fragrance of it lingers in me. When we would visit my grandfather we always used Lifeboy soap. One day sometime ago I looked for it at the store and the fragrance had changed. I was sooo disappointed. I don't even know if they make Lifeboy any more.
ZONA, Irish through marriage.
I'll bet Mr Z was jealous of Nikki's lunch. LOL
Zona - All my tests came out fine. I think I just need some warm weather to start feeling great again. It snowed this morning and now it's raining. I am so sick of this winter. I think I will move to AZ.
Lani Did you say CAKE?!!
Zona I think my mom has a few of the little paintings.
Tinka So glad your tests came out well.
VIG So sorry you are sick again. I hope you feel better soon.
TINK Please blow some of that weather down this way. I'm glad your tests came out well.
SLIN, I forgot to buy the ingredients to bake the cake. TOMORROW
LANI: Oh, you're Irish by injection... ;)
Zona Oh, my! LMAO @ injection!
TINKA: YAY!! I'm glad your tests came out good! Now..about moving to AZ..I have room! :)
J/LIN: Remember, if you get cake..you said you'd share.. ;)
ZONA, I know the B word and the S word in Russian.
Feel better soon Vig. I miss you on the NEST.
SANDIE, I hope you are home and feeling well.
I guess I better go and fill out my Cobra extension form for my health insurance, as I was fortunate enough to get an extension.
BTW BIRDEE, I have a picture in my head of you sitting with your grandmother holding her hand. How sweet. I'll bet the best part for her was holding your hand.
DONNA JEAN, I think of you & Laurie & Olive often. Stay warm and happy.
Zona & Lani my first Husband was Irish. Look at your little finger for a minute i will wait..................................
that's about as much as I was injected bwah ha ha!!!
Good evening feathered friends!
BrrrDeeee...congrats on 1st! It must be true...the early bird gets the worm!
ITEACH...what a lovely tribute to your grandma. I bet she loved spending the time with you as much as you loved being with her.
All of my grandparents passed away before I was born. When I was a little girl, we used to come to Cleveland every summer for a vacation and my mom's sister Ruth was the eldest of the sisters. She already had snow white hair and a couple of grandaughters. They were only a couple of years younger then me, so when they called her grandma I figured she was mine, too. Until I was old enough to know the difference I called her grandma, too.
I may have mentioned this before here, but my mom's mom crocheted (or knitted) a sweater, hat and booties. My mom, aunt and a cousin were all preggers together and grandma said the 1st one born got the set. I was born 2 weeks before my cousin Melinda and 4 weeks before my cousin Esther. So I have the set. Sadly, I have no children to pass it down to, but when Esther's daughter gets married and has her first child I will give it to her.
EBJ...your grandma sounds like a hoot! My mom would pull some of those same antics! I still smile when I think of some of the things that fell out of her mouth! Kinda like me ;)~
ZONA and LANI...my mom was a pretty nasty cook...glad nothing tastes the way she made it!!! Just sayin!
Zona - I may be there faster than you think. I must get that passport soon.
55
MARY "Look at your little finger" LOL
MO, What a sentimental gift that sweater set will be. Sorry about the cooking memories :)
I'm going back to the Cobra.
Lani, neither MR. EBJ or I like cucumbers, so it wasn't an issue lol.
No we didn't eat carrots at her house, either!
My dad called earlier, and my dear uncle passed away about 8:00am.
That was so fast, he was doing pretty good on Friday and 4 days later he is gone. Luckily, he was not suffering or in pain.
It has been heartwarming to read the grandma stories today :)
Mary I just read your finger comment, were you referring to your first husband???
HAHAHAHA!!
MARY: LMAO!!!!! I actually looked!!! :D
MO: I love the things that fall out of your mouth..lol...!!
EBJ: I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Uncle. {{hugs}}
EBJ...my sympathies to you and your family. It is a blessing that your uncle didn't have to suffer for so very long. {{{hugs}}}
MARY...The bad cooking rendered many a funny story and memories!
TINKA...I'm glad your tests came out well. Maybe a trip to AZ is just what the doctor ordered for you. Glad to see you posting here again!
ZONA...hi! Have you recovered yet? I glad you all had a great time at your HO Down!! Yee Haw!
MO: My grandma probably lived just around the block..you could have eaten dinner there! ;)
6?

Can You guess how many exclamation points that is?
iTeach....nice tribute.

MoHO: I think you need to smoke two, it's been a while huh?
Jigglin probably sang "99 bottles of beer on the wall"
ZONA, I looked also.
EBJ, I am sorry to hear your uncle died. Sending you HUGS.
Of course we all know never to eat corn on the cob at HODI'S house. LOL

GOLDIE...the cooking was so bad, heck it could have been reindeer!
Hmmm, maybe it tastes like chicken.
Sorry Rudolph!
I was trying to figure out what to have for dinner. Suddenly my zucchini isn't look quite the same to me. LOL
Goldie:
If you can raise me....well then I will bow down to your talent...bwahahahaha
Mo: that could be arranged. I know people near you...bwahahahaha
K-girl :)
Mo- I never trust that statement, it tastes like chicken! Maybe it really was Rudolph.
Speaking of Donna Jean- anyone heard from her lately or know what is going on?
Mo congrats on 69! Feels goood doesn't it? lol
Thanx for all the good wishes and hugs, you guys are the best :)
Zona, your girls weekend sounded fabulous! I would love to do that some time!
Oh, we are having Pierogis tonight (Trader Joe's brand and they are pretty darn good!)
Tinka glad your tests came back good.
Sandie hope you are home and healing. I get cramps just thinking of that procedure... lol
I am fixing SLIN'S tuna casserole.
MO, I think it is a safe bet that anything over 6 inches at HODI'S is off limits!
I will have to go to Trader Joe's and find some pierogis.
TURTLE...if you are thinking of who I am thinking you are thinking of...then think I don't like you no more!!!!!!!!!!
MO I forgot to congratulate you on your march to 69! Are your feathers still ruffled from the afterglow? LOL
Still haven't finished my Cobra form.
Maybe if I go and mess around in the MANOR SHIRLEY will come out and play!
LANI...you're "fixing" JUST LIN's casserole? Was it broken? LOL!!

I would never do that to you!!!!!
ZonaHO:
Ummm isn't that what 69 is? Coming and going? bwahahahaha
East Bay J - Sorry to hear about your uncle. There is a superstition that news about deaths come in threes. If I have counted correctly we have had three in the last few days on the blog. Let's pray every one else stays healthy. EBJ, I will add your uncle to my prayers tonight. Love, Tinka
Zona - Congrats on 100.
MO, It is HOT GLOW! i HAD TO PUT ON MY SUNGLASSES.
The casserole wasn't broken, LOL however, that reminds me, I washed her special casserole dish that is never supposed to be washed.
Do you have a recipe for pierogi(sp) casserole?
I think I may have ADD. I still haven't finished my Cobra.
EBJ - I am so sorry for your loss - thoughts and prayers to you and your family!!

Hi Everyone...
I have a tummy ache, not sure why, so I am just chillin.. I did not read the comments.. I will catch up tomorrow.. I do see our poopin Birdee was first tho, so congrats on first Birdee..
Did anyone hear from Sandie? I did not read the comments tho so someone might have, I will skim.
Iteach,
I loved that you made your blog about the celebration of a life, thanks for giving me a peek of your grandma, so very special..
Mo,
Do you have snow? We are getting some tomorrow and then switching over to rain/sleet. I hate this crappy weather..
Hope everyone had a good day!
:O)
EBJ,
Sorry for the loss of your Uncle, my thoughts are with you and your family..
Birdee that is so sweet that you held your grandma's hand while you watched Lawrence together.
MEK, I'm glad you got to think of your grandmothers today with a smile on your face.
Tina- I'm thirsty, how are you?
Goldie- I'm so glad you are making great memories for your grandchildren now!
Whabby- Yeah, another Lawrence Welk grandma fan! :)
EBJ- Your grandma stories cracked me up!
Tinka- You are so right about the unconditional love!
Lani- I hope you make hot chocolate for your new granddaughter that is coming!
J/L that is so cute how your grandma taped dimes to your letters.
Mary- My grandma was fiesty too. lol
Hi! iteach, your grandma sounds like a lot of fun. I know you miss her so much. Big hugs to you.
I'll tell you about my grandma later. Just wanted to stop in to say I'm fine--in fact, better than fine because the surgery didn't happen the way it was supposed to.
The instrument they use, called Novasure, has a safety feature--it measures and does all sorts of other fancy stuff to your uterus to see if conditions are just right before it will even turn on. Well, after two times, it wouldn't turn on. The doctor says she thinks my uterus is too small. What?? I've had two kids so not sure I really understand that. Anyway, she just did a simple D&C so I feel just fine. No pain. No pain meds. I'm super bummed--seems like a wasted surgery to me.
I'll be back tomorrow. I am rather tired and still a little loopy from the anesthesia.
Thanks so much for all the kind myspace messages and thoughts here on the blog. You guys are the best!
EBJ, I'm so sorry about the passing of your uncle. Hugs to you.
Zona I did not know your grandma was Russian that is really neat. I'm glad she shared her heritage with you.
Oh, Mo, that is so neat how your grandma crocheted that baby outfit. She made that out of love.
Birdee Brrrr, Congrats on firstee frrrr!! :)
iteach: Your blog was really touching. It brought back lots of good memories of my grandparents. I hope that I can be the kind of grandmother someday that will always leave a imprint on my grandchild's heart. :)
It is really bad weather here, we have had trees breaking like crazy from the weight of the ice. I can stand outside and here them falling!
I am going to go and read comments now. I hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
Sandie: Glad it went okay though. Even if it was not what was expected!!
Bebbi, thank you--you're right--it went well and I shouldn't be negative about it. It's not like me to do that, I think I'm just tired and I've had so much done to me lately that I'm just so done, you know?
Goodnight--my eyes are droopy ....
EBJ: So sorry to hear that your uncle died. :( Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Hello Bebbi!
Sandie that for checking in.
I'm out of the loop, I'm sorry I didn't know you were experiencing female problems.
I had a D&C when I lost the babies and I remember feeling loopy afterwards.
Sandie: It probably took more out of you than you realize. You need to get rest and take care. I get the same way when I am tired, so yes, I do know..
EBJ- I'm sorry about your uncle. :(
Carol I hope your tummy feels better.
HI iteach!! Hugs..really great blog. Brought back good memories for me. Thank you.
SANDIE...I'm glad you are doing well. Maybe this will be enough and you won't need the other surgery.
CAROL...We have gotten about an inch of snow so far, but we are anticipating 12".
Carol, watch out for peanut butter crackers..haha. ;)
That peanut butter thing has been a big issue here because Mr. Bebbi eats Jif all the time (although, the recall is not regarding that kind).
Also, I bought the best candy in the world (from my hometown) because they just went online right before Christmas. www.loweryscandies.com Well, they had peanut butter cups in them. So, of course, Mr. Bebbi mentioned that..lol. But, no one got sick and it is the best candy. It reminds me of my grandmother, because she used to let me have a piece or two and it was so special. YUM! :)
I had it while I was studying for my exam..hehe.., nothing better than chocolate when studying!
God, I am scatterbrained..lol! Wayyy off topic and I just type what my mind thinks. It is scary..and NO, I am not drunk blogging again!
I should say, "I type whatever comes into my mind"..even talking about being scatterbrained makes my mind scatter more!
Thanks, Mo and iteach!
iteach, no need to apologize! You have a lot going on. I'm not actually having any female problems--it was just supposed to be a way to stop my periods so I could get my anemia under control. But, I'm done now. I'm hoping I can control it through iron pills and food now. If not, I'll just have to have the iron infusions now and again. No biggie.
Hugs to you all. I REALLY am going to bed now. Goodnight!
EBJ,sorry about your Uncle. That was pretty quick.
Carol, hope your tummy is doing better.
Lani, yes, I was talking about my ex lol! I love that some of you checked out your fingers!!
I wouldn't discuss Mr Mary here! but he is bigger than my little finger and smaller than a bat! bwah ha ha!!
MEK, I am trying my best to feel sorry for your frost warning ;-)
really I am!
Good night Sandi, glad things turned out well for you today.
Sandie Good night. Sleep well. I hope you start feeling better soon.
MO The casserole sounds great.
Slan It's a deal!
Dagnabbit...the weatherman changed the forecast...11 to 17 inches by 7 pm tomorrow night. Enough already.
And it's only January
MARY...I think we BOTH need to pay a visit to MEK and ZONA!
MEK...congrats on TUG! I can see how she tugged at your heartstrings. So very precious. Cute choice for a name!
JUST LIN...I hope you and LANI enjoy it. Think pleasant thoughts of me as you devour it! Be sure to add some pork to it ;)
MARY "Bigger than my little finger and smaller than a bat". LMAO
SANDIE Glad you are okay. Hopefully you will be under control now even with the D&C.
ITEACH Thanks again for your blog today. I hope you are feeling a little better.
CAROL I hope you aren't sick. Take care.
BEBBI Whatever flies into your brain is why you are so much fun. Never change.
So. Apparently I have enough time to fix tuna casserole and stuff my face, but not enough time to finish my Cobra. I am so proud!
Good evening and only happy dreams.
Lani: Thanks
Mo: Not many people are very happy with the Weatherman right now..lol.
Good night all, sweet dreams! Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite!
Hi Owls...I have been away from the nest for a couple of weeks...there seems to be lots going on right now! Missed y'all!
Just wanted to drop by to say:
iteach, donna and EBJ....so very sorry for your losses. Prayers and many, many thoughts for you!
Sandie: sending you good healing wishes. Hope you rest well tonight and feel more like yourself in the morning.
Neighbourlady Tink, Zona, JL and Lani....thank you so much for your well wishes. I am feeling better tonight. I took a sick day today and actually did nothing but rest today. It helped. Has anyone had diverticulitis? If so, what did you do to make it go away and never come back?
VIG...I'm glad you are feeling better.
Stay away from seeds.
Night all. Have sweet dreams.
Hi VIG, I just took one last fly through. I have never had it. I just looked at the Mayo Clinic sight. Looks like a lack of fiber contributes, but if someone is in the middle of an episode you shouldn't eat fiber. Also looks like a round of antibiotics. All in all it looks like plenty of fiber and exercise helps to avoid it.
OMG, VIG! I have never had it, but Mr Whabbear did, big time.
The only thing he could do to make it go away? Have the affected area of the colon removed.
Have you had it before? Have the doctors told you to avoid anything with seeds?
VIG & MO, That is what SLIN thought also, No nuts or anything like that.
VIG My husband had an attack of that once but I don't really recall how he got over it. I think he was put on antibiotics, though, but he also had Crohns disease. I don't know if there is any real evidence that it makes a difference, but I heard that you should avoid nuts and seeds. Make sure you drink lots of water, too. I wonder if some of the new products that are over-the-counter, like Colon Health, would be helpful in prevention. I know it can hurt quite a bit. I'm sorry you are having to deal with that.
Good Night Everyone. Pleasant dreams only.
Vig, when I had my gall bladder out they told me I had it. I eat walnuts everyday. Today I had strawberries and tomatoes. I only have trouble if I eat too much of anything especially fresh lettuce. I guess everybody is different.
Wow! Thanks everyone for your good advice. I've just been diagnosed and it is the first time I've had it...it's been rough and I don't want it again. I greatly appreciate your help on this!
Nite Lani and everyone. I'm heading to bed soon too.
Good night, everyone. Sweet dreams. See you here tomorrow.
I'll bet everyone else is sleeping!!
