There are very few unknown facts about me, since I'm your run of the mill open book who blogs. :D
The one thing that stands out is my shoulder blades, literally. When I was a kid, I'd pop them out in church to freakout the person sitting behind me. If they didn't react, I'd make them bounce. The boys in school called them reversible boobies.

I had three children three different ways, c-section, vaginal and adoption, in that order.

My neighbor in MD was Rex Ryan, Ravens Defensive Coach, and his wife, Mickey, was my friend (used to buy Longaberger from me).
I was born in Washington, DC.

I thought of something else I can share. It was the biggest dare/i.e. stupidist thing I have ever done.
Before Germany's wall went down, I was in Germany (my parents homeland) and just HAD to go to East Germany where my Mom's family fled from during the war.
Soooo, off of a road that divided the counties, my bro and I got out of the car and crossed a barrier that said HALT! Then we ventured further and crossed the
2nd one that really said HALT! Then got to the 3rd and final one that said HALT OR YOU WILL BE SHOT ON SITE (roughly translated).
We crossed it so my MOTHER could take a picture with the sign in front of us!! She almost shit her pants, but she couldn't yell at us for fear of alerting someone (they had guard towers). Someday I will find that picture and post it. My Mom still fumes at us when we talk about it!!! LOL
Lois- damn right we deserve a Medal, and I am thinking our children's undying gratitude too!!

Hi guys! I'm a little woozy after having dental surgery this morning but am gonna try to respond to this blog.
My husband went to college in Stillwater, OK with Garth Brooks.
As for me, when I was a child I always felt the presence of older siblings even though I was the oldest child in our family. I eventually learned my mother had miscarried twins before I was born so maybe that's where that came from.
In 1998, we were visiting my father over Memorial Day weekend. When we were getting ready to leave and I hugged my dad goodbye, I got an intense uneasy feeling that was coming from his chest area. I shook it off and didn't think any more of it until he was hospitalized in June with pneumonia. Two days later I got a call from him, telling me the docs found an aggressive adenocarcinoma in both of his lungs.
In 1981, as my now ex-husband was dropping me off at work at 7:30am, I felt a strong desire to tell him to be careful that day but squelched it because he hated when I talked like that. At 10am the phone on my boss's desk rang and before she came to get me (there were 30 of us in her unit), I knew he had been in a serious auto accident (broke his pelvis).
In 1978 my now ex-husband's sister had a baby girl. Lacy wa beautiful and everyone around adored her but every time I held her, I couldn't shake this feeling that something wasn't quite right. One evening, shortly after Lacy was two months old, she just stopped breathing. An autopsy confirmed she died from SIDS.
I'm not John Edward or Sylvia and I don't think I'm reading the future. I didn't predict my father's cancer, Lacy's SIDS, or my ex-husband's accident but each of their bodies spoke to me in a way that left me feeling uneasy. Weird, huh?

Whabby, you make a good point and it's something I think about alot. I think the events with my dad, my niece, and my ex-husband were more about being able to tap into my intuition.
I'm not sure about the feeling as a child that my older brother or sister were around me. Also not sure about the feeling of my dad hugging me when we were sitting in the church during his funeral.
OTOH, I didn't know or recognize my first husband was using heroin even though his eyes were sunken and he was getting so skinny you could see his spine, and I didn't know what to think about his spontaneous vomiting that went on for several months.
I didn't know he was embezzling money from his employers in spite of the fact he had cash stashed everywhere, mostly in the trunk of his car, and he was buying expensive gifts for people.
The heroin and embezzling were something that started when he made friends with the company owner's sons. He confided in me after he quit the job to get away from the drugs. That was 27-28 years ago and now y'all know something else about me!
I also had natural childbirth with both my boys although I begged for drugs with the first one. He just came too fast to get them.
Oh, at the tender age of 17, my mother was courted and proposed to by one of the sons of H.B. Reese (founder of Reese's cups) shortly before she met and married my dad. She didn't like him because she thought he was too arrogant.

Caryn, twice I have had a similar situation with a baby. A co-worker brought her newborn in to see us, and I immediately had a bad feeling. I think it was more that he felt "floppy".
He died of SIDS shortly after.
Another time, I was babysitting a neighbor's newborn, and the first time I held him, I sensed that "floppy" feeling again. He too died not long after of SIDS.
I worked for many years as an NICU nurse, and not once did I ever get that sensation.
I wish I was going to be home tomorrow to watch the inauguration.
I'm trying to deal with Comcast and our messed up phone lines. I'll be back!

Good Afternoon Owls. It seems like we could have a marching twirl group here. I too used to twirl the baton in junior high. I still have my baton. I tapped danced to In The Mood when I was about 8. I have seen George Strait in concert about six times. I love football. Ok..this is a secret but when the Broncos won the game to go to "one of the many" super bowls....I was at the game and John Elway had the trophy and he looked right at me in Section 211 and yelled.."I love you." It was quite emotional and they show it on tv sports shows sometimes. I think this might have been the start of his divorce :)
ZONA AND MEK: I am so excited for your team to be going to the Super
Bowl. My husband and I really enjoyed watching the game yesterday and cheering hard for the Cardinals. I think I will come to Phoenix and get some Cards shirts, etc., over the weekend.
EBJ: This is a great blog. I have some other things but I don't want to ruin my image too much. I did climb down a fire escape with some other girls once because we were in an apt that girls were not allowed. This was when I was 18 and bendable too.

Hello Mr Mek. MEK: It was beautiful here today too. We reached 65 degrees and no clouds and lots of sun. Our trees will start blooming if we aren't careful. We haven't even had winter yet except one week of cold and very little snow.
I am going to meet my niece for dinner at the Olive Garden in a few minutes. She is 23 and a police woman. I lvoe to meet her and here all her stories from the job, being single, etc. She makes me laugh with all her energy.

Things about me:
I hung nude pictures from playgirl in the ladies bathroom stalls at work in the 70's. It may have been the first issue as it had Burt Reynolds in it. They took then down when the older ladies were spending way too much time in there!
I ate one of "those" brownies at work in the 70s, and had to have not-yet-Mr Mary come and get me!
I got someone to call me out of work (again in the 70s). I in turn called out others, just so we could party!
I LOVED THE 70S LOL!!
