My niece Katie is going to a bible college out in BC. She recently contacted me and asked if I would help with an assignment. She assured me no one was going to try to convert me from an atheist to a christian. Lol! I told her I would help. She sent me 7 questions saying that the assignment had to be 6-8 pages so I could make my answers as long as I wanted. As I read and thought about them I wondered what the Night Owls would think...so what do you think? I love hearing what you guys think about stuff. Sometimes the opinions vary and sometimes they are almost identical.

We have come up with great ways to have horrible deaths....cigarettes... alcohol...drugs...
We as a race have basically destroyed the earth as far as our health is concerned......
There is so much cancer as a result of things to make our lives better.....we have carcinogens in what we eat to the very roofs over out heads......asbestos in buildings...the list is long...
Our very drinking water....we are filling the oceans with trash....eat a fish ...eat mercury......
In my own family I have seen 2 babies born with incredible deformities....that mercifully died....and the only reasonable assessment offered was that the Mother got pregnant while taking the "pill"....and continued to take it not knowing she was pregnant!!
Its not God that makes people suffer......
My Mother was famous for saying..."there are just some things we weren't meant to understand"....

1. This last year I don't know. I have watched as people who proclaim they belive in God and act in UnGodly ways. I guess I believe in a God and yes he will forgive our sins, but that does not guaranty entrance into heaven. I could go on and on but won't.
2. The Universe is infinate and has many secrets not yet revealed.
3. Human beings fascinate and repulse me at times. I think we all have the capacity to be good and most of us are. Sadly we are also corruptible and do great harm.
4. You live you die. The circle of life.
5. Life experience and I also believe we are born with certain inate knowledge (some more than others).
6.That old golden rule. I would also add let your conscience be your guide or in my case if I have an ooky stomach something is off and I need to rethink a given situation.
7. Which history? The history that we live and know is true or the history like the bible that people try to rewrite to fit their needs and agenda?

Deedee Thank you Thank you! For your first post yesterday. I am shocked and sickened by what these people are promoting on freaking
Tshirts and bumper stickers no less.
I think what is most shocking to me is our elected officials who will not stand up and say how wrong this is! No they call rallies and press conferences and help promote this hate and violence like it is normal. I expect a certain fringe element from both sides but this has gone to all new levels and seems to me the scariest fringers have been elected to stir the pot and push for tearing this country apart.
Carol I am not trying to offend you but the news station you watch is also on this mission to destroy our President and in my mind our country. I have no problem if they disagree with policy and report fairly on it but to enhance videos and promote signs that compare our President to Hitler with pictures of Holocaust victims is beyond disturbing and disgusting.
If I see the clip of Glenn Beck pretending to pour gasoline one more time I may lose my mind. In my opinion he is a dangerous man and knows exactly the hate he is engendering.
I have been working my ass of this week to help people and I turn on the TV and am horrified to see the hate being spewed from all of these sources. I am sickened and tired. No solutions just obstruction and ranting.
Well I fucking see the people everyday that are affected by what these people are doing and I am just sick of it!!!!
No healthcare, Working poor, elderly having a harder and harder time making ends meet, More homeless Vets and children. Those last two are growing at alarming rates even in my own county!
These people think this will all be fixed by killing someone who was elected???
I guess Like scrishy I am questioning everything right now! I am so angry that I could spit and so sad I may have to go back on my damn antidepressants!
Lastly I am so angry about the morons who seem to have their own war on trying to cut health care for women at every angle. No Tina I am not just talking about abortion. If we are paying attention you will see where they are trying to change when women should have their first mammogram back to age 50. Some of our Senators don't think that any form of birth control should be covered by any insurance. Women have been raped or battered and they are AOK with letting the Corporate health insurers rape them again by calling it a preexisting conditions.
Sorry I know I am ranting but it is all driving me crazy.
