Mine and Ours

by Bonachichi
Just today, I realized I am no longer a “me”. I am a “we”. For some time, I’ve been living the single lifestyle. Even when I was “married”, I lived it. Everything I had was mine. Only mine.

My guy is working in Hawaii at the moment. Hazard duty, for sure. He sent me a message asking where he could download some software he needed in a pinch. He’s done this before, using my accounts and I thought nothing of it. But today, when I told him where to get his goodies, I used the word, “our”. As in, “our account”.
What happened? When did I go from me to we? My to our? Neither one of us even thinks about where we’ll be a year from now, or even tomorrow. We’re both in it for the moment. No strings. My feelings haven’t changed significantly, not that I’ve realized anyway. But at some point, I let go of what’s only mine and began to share it.
Did any of you have this epiphany? The realization that all of a sudden, your life became shared with someone else? How did it come about?

Good morning TINA!!

BONACHICHI - I definitely thought of us as a "we" when he proposed!! But probably a few months prior to that when Paul and his whole family were there for me when my brother died.

I hope everyone has a great Friday ♥

Heading out to get Dad a few things. His dr. suggested that he start drinking ensure shakes. He also prescribed a nebulizer for Dad to use at home. Just waiting for the clinic's pharmacy to get the liquid albuterol in.

Also hoping to see GOLDIE and her two grandkids today ♥

Morning Afternoon Glories!

Mine has been an ours so long I long for the day when it is all mine.

Already had a Doc Appt to burn some crazy ass warts on my finger they went crazy. It hurts but I have to start using some cream in a few days and put plaster bandages over the areas. The damn cream was a 20.00 co pay, Thank God because even the pharmacist about spit out her coffee as it is 300.00 a tube. lord! It would be cheaper to get me drunk and just cut the damn things off.

My "we" is my kids. "We" have been through a lot together this year and it has made us stronger.

Lynn, what causes too many warts? My son had a cluster for a while then poof they were gone and haven't had the problem again.

Happy Friday Owls.

Bonachichi, It was a long time ago, but I think I became 'we' when I got engaged. That was an easy transition as I remember and for 33 years it was that way. The harder transition was becoming an 'I' again. After my Hubby died, I caught myself signing thank you notes with both our names and I would have to tear it up and start over. It took a while to get used to just signing only my name. Now that I have been an 'I' for a long time, I think I would have trouble becoming a 'we' and sharing again.

Tina, It's so good to see McDreamy again. Lookin' gooooood!

Jodi, (((HUGS))) to you and your Dad.

Lynn, I hope the cream works.

Jennifer, I hope this year is better for you than the last one was.

Waving to all the Owls and I hope you are all having a good day.

LYNN - Thank you! I'd be happy to get you wasted enough to cut the damn things off.....wheeee ♥

JENNIFER - You have a great "we". I know it's been a tough year, but YOU are doing it!!

BARB - Your post made me think of my Dad. He is ready to get back to being a "we" with Mom. My prayer is that he gets his wish. (((hugs))) to you my friend ♥

Bobachi, I never felt the "we" with my first Huz. With him it was always "me me me"(him him him). Could be why we split lol!
With Mr Mary I think it was many years ago when he had back surgery and I was the only one to stay with him all night for 3 days. It was early in our courtship, but I new the a-hole was my "we" lol!!

Tina, you are so spoiled!

Jodi, I totally understand about your Dad {{hugs}}.

LynnD,I wonder many times how people without co-pay do it. Maybe they just go without. Sad. My eye drops are $60 with co-pay!

Jeniffer, I have thought of you and your children many times this past year. I am so proud of you. I may only be your Auntie, but I sometimes feel like your sister :) Keep up the good work!

SaBarb, you may change your mind on the "we" thing if you happen across a cute plumber, painter, 'puter guy, deliveryman...lol!!!

It's another beautiful day here in Michi. :):):):)

Lynn!? Where have you had ur finger?

If the doc used nitrous oxide to burn it will scar if you expose it in the sun....so put a little hat on it!

Udderly fab blog Snatchi.....I never became a "we"...just always a ME ME ME!

Jennifer, warts are a "self-limiting virus". Eventually the virus dies and yes, the warts just disappear.

I am loving hearing about all your we, I, you, them, it and us stories.

Mary, I thought you'd given me another nickname and I kind of like it.

DeeDee, I think you have a lot of "we"'s . However you spell that. Is it a word? Your prison friends, for sure.

whabbear said...

Bon, good question! I think the "we" came gradually, as we began to realize that we wanted to spend time together... a lot of time! Then, when we bought the condo in Palm Springs together in 04 it really solidified. Now we had to pay a mortgage together! LOL!

*offers Lynn D a quadruple shot of whiskey, dusts off scapel*

prison friend "s"?? ...lol

Whabbear! While you have that scalpel out...I know someone who apparently has a burr in her butt...think you could get to that?

bonach. Excellent blog! I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner but I am away at my mom's. I would like to comment more but I find it very tedious to type withmy thumbs on this BlackBerry. Right, Dianne? Anyway, I am very happy for you that you feel comfortable and safe enough in your relationship to feel like a "we". I don't recall specifically when it happened for me but it definitely came about with the feeling of assuredness that we both felt we were a team.
