No NURSING HOME FOR me!!!

by Goldie

No nursing home for us.  We'll be checking into a Holiday Inn!  With the average cost for a nursing home care costing $188.00 per day, there is a better way when we get old and too feeble.  I've already checked on reservations at the Holiday Inn. For a combined long term stay discount and senior discount, it's $59.23 per night. Breakfast is included, and some have happy hours in the afternoon. That leaves  $128.77 a day for lunch and dinner in any restaurant we want, or room service, laundry, gratuities and special TV movies. Plus, they provide a spa, swimming pool, a workout room, a lounge and washer-dryer, etc. Most have free toothpaste and razors, and all have free shampoo and soap.

$5 worth of tips a day you'll have the entire staff scrambling to help you.   They treat you like a customer, not a patient. There's a city bus stop out front, and seniors ride free.  The handicap bus will also pick you up (if you fake a decent limp).

To meet other nice people, call a church bus on Sundays.

For a change of scenery, take the airport shuttle bus and eat at one of the nice restaurants there.  While you're at the airport, fly somewhere.  Otherwise, the cash keeps building up.  It takes months to get into decent nursing homes. Holiday Inn will take your reservation today. And you're not stuck in one place forever -- you can move from Inn to Inn, or even from city to city. Want to see  Hawaii?  They have Holiday Inn there too. TV broken?  Light bulbs need changing?  Need a mattress replaced?  No problem. They fix everything,  and apologize for the inconvenience.

The Inn has a night security person and daily room service. The maid checks to see if you are ok.  If not, they'll call an ambulance .. . . or the undertaker. If you fall and break a hip, Medicare will pay for the hip, and Holiday Inn will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad to find you, and probably check in for a few days mini-vacation.

The grandkids can use the pool.   What more could I ask for?

So, when I reach that golden age, I'll face it with a grin.

Hello Trina...

Zona may be dead....

A dust storm up to 50 miles wide and a mile high descended on the Phoenix area on Tuesday night, grounding flights, forcing drivers to stop and causing thousands of power outages.

If you have ever seen the fog roll in over SFO bay....this was 1000 times as big....HUGE!!!

Casey Anthony should call OJ...they could start a club....

Dang me!!! That's one huge haboob!~

wait a minute! How do you know "haboob"...??

Did you channel Idriss II?

Now I clicked once and posted twice. I think something doesn't like me today.

Good Morning Tina and Michael. I am always amazed at how you two love to fight with each other. They say there is a fine line between love and hate.

Zona - I hope you are ok. I am looking forward to our phone call this morning to hear all the details.

Goldie - I love your blog. I have heard of a woman booking a permanent suite on a cruise ship but this would be cheaper and you could stay in your own city.

Michael - I think Lady Justice should take off the blind fold. She got it wrong for little Cayley. Who put her in the swamp? That is what I would like to know. It has been said that Casey will be a millionaire after her book deals, picture sales and movie of the week.

hi Tinka!

well it looks like UFO's were flying in the "haboob" (rolls eye) yestiddy!

I think aliens brought the storm to hide their spaceships while inspecting the Phoenix area...CNN has the best video of the 2 "visitors" from outer space....

It has also been reported that a couple of people were sucked up from their pools into the space crafts. I hope it wasn't Zona and Randy...

I know this would cause Kathy to have a fall or something as bad and I don't think they would enjoy being "probed" although I would enjoy hearing about it...

nanu nanu!

Breakfast is ready. It is a beautiful day here. I will play on my farms and nurse my cold. Have a great Wednesday everybody.

Tinka...

there are so many questions I would like to ask the jury...

I say Casey will never be free from her conscience but a friend explained to me that she doesn't have one...that there are actually people who can commit such an act and to them it is like putting away laundry.

I will never buy a book or see a movie based on this her tale unless somehow we find out more and all I can possibly imagine is that her parents may have known or done more than they were telling....and I am just grasping at straws...

I would think that Casey will be considered an outcast much the same as OJ Simpson and the likes of Tonja Harding....there is no where in the world that she can go where she won't be shunned and hated...

Unless she has something more to say that will exonerate her in the worlds eyes....

Its all very disappointing and strange...but the main thing I hope is that Cayley wasn't frightened or struggling when she was killed...I hope she never realized anything that would scare her....

Tinka - I hope your cold is better today. Summer colds are such a drag.

Michael - I don't believe the Anthonys had anything to do with it.

GOLDIE: Very cute blog and I am ready to check in today. I would like to alternate it with the cruise ship idea too. I can be ready in an hour!!

J/L: If I can get used to it ----the phone----anyone can. I was very against for over a year and finally just caved to keep Louis quiet. I loved my Blackberry but ....yes, I am loving the IPhone....so just keep plugging along. I totally still think you will like it with a stylus. i use one off and on....nails don't work.

ZONA: Glad you are okay and didn't blow away. Your city was the lead on our news last night. Whew...is the pool all dirty now?

Hello to TINA, MICHAEL, TINK AND ITEACH AND LYNN. LYNN: Have a great time at the beach.. How nice to be able to be close enough to drive there.

TINK; I agree with you about that fine line you were talking about regarding TINA AND MICHAEL. HMMMM......Hope you feel better soon. Colds are never fun but always seem worse in the summer....I wonder why that i

Diane - Pretty sure I will get rid of this phone and get something with a real keyboard. I use it more for email than anything else.

Tinka said...

Michael and Just_Lin - I so agree with both of you about Cayley's death. It is so sad.

Michael - I haven't heard from Zona yet today. I hope you are wrong about her being sucked up in the dust storm.

Tinka said...

Dianne - Tell me more about this fine line.
Yes summer colds are awful. I want to go to water therapy tomorrow. I just don't want to get worse.

Tinka said...

Waving a wing at Lynn and Iteach. Hope you are having a good day. I have spent most of the day sitting in the sun on my deck and playing on my farms.

Wohoo I at the beach! It is foggy and wonderful!

Lynn - Here at my mom's, it has been in the 90's d
so foggy sounds real
good.

Goldie: LOL! Although, I think, for me, being a fan of assisted invalidicide, I prefer the "take me to an ice floe" option! And it don't cost nothin'!
