A Basket of Memories
by Bon'Oregon
Recent blogs and posts about departed loved ones and fond memories of them reminded me of something I made many years ago for my mother. At the time, I thought it was just a little something extra for a birthday, to entertain her for a few moments that day. It has proven to be much more than that. Many of you are so crafty, I thought you might enjoy taking the idea, modifying and improving upon it in any way you choose.
First, I found (at Michael's, of course) a miniature oval wicker picnic-style basket (approx. 5"h. x7"l. x 4" w.). You know the type: two-sided flip-up top that folds up from either side to the center bail handle. I chose to embellish it on either side (bring on the glue gun!) using matching leather oak leaves with tiny bronze acorns. A length of narrow ivory matte satin ribbon completed the presentation.
THEN, the fun began! I purchased a lined note paper tablet which had various pastel colored pages and, using the paper cutter at work, cut identical-sized 1 1/2"h. x 6" w. strips (approx. 100 of them). Over the course of a blustery November weekend, I nestled in with my fondest memories, from early childhood in our family home through middle-age occasions and events, all of which had included my mother. Once I got started, there was no stopping. From the most mundane and fleeting moments that I had no idea were permanently etched in my memory bank, to the more major milestone moments, the floodgates were open! On each slip of paper I wrote one little memory. Each of us has a different life and different memories, so yours would be unique unto you, but I'll share just a few of mine (not too personal) which included.....
*Bubble lights on the Christmas tree *Summer neighborhood parties with homemade, hand cranked ice-cream and fresh in-season fruits. *Making sure we got home from Wednesday night church in time for 'Ozzie & Harriet'. *Walking through the snow to cattle auctions in Snohomish with Grandpa & Uncle Marvin. *Picking green apples together in the abandoned orchard where Dad was hunting. *Watching Sputnik overhead from the backyard *Sitting together glued to the TV for 4 days when JFK was assassinated. *Collecting Beanie Babies together *Climbing sand-dunes while camping at Honeyman *Shopping together for THE dress for your 50 Year High School Reunion.......After about 100 of these, I folded each in half, fortune cookie style; then, 'scrambled' them gently together so that the different colors and decades were well mixed. All were then tucked loosely into the 'Basket of Memories'.
I don't recall what my primary birthday gift to Mom was that year. But, I can tell you that the 'Basket of Memories' delighted her that day and stayed on the side-table next to her favorite chair for the rest of her life. She'd often call me on the phone to chat about the context of a particular memory. We dumped them all on the dining room table and had many a chuckle over Saturday coffee more than once. When she couldn't sleep at night after Dad passed, she'd get up and read through a number of them again and again. She'd shake the basket and pull one out like a Thought for the Day with her breakfast some mornings. Now that she's gone, I have the 'Basket of Memories' again, and return to it often. Last Mother's Day, I took the basket with me when I went to 'visit' with her at the cemetery and I swear I could hear her chuckling along with me.
Your 'Basket of Memories' might be a different shape or size. It might be housed in a hat box, dad's or child's lunch box, or a family heirloom. It might be from you to a parent, spouse, child, lover, best friend, or all of the above. But, trust me, it will be a gift that keeps on giving.

Wow, almost 700 posts yesterday?! This blog has become the new hot spot in town! :) Unfortunately, I haven't been reading either blog for about a week now, but I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things again.
Thanks so much to everyone who sent feel better wishes, hugs, and prayers! I was feeling pretty scared last week, but I'm in a much better frame of mind today. I just didn't understand what was wrong with me, because I had never felt like that before. I was having difficulty breathing and swallowing at times. Plus, I had 3 migraines in 5 days, which is very unusual for me.
The good news is the migraines were apparently caused by the medication my doctor prescribed, because I haven't had another one since she told me to stop taking it. I've been diagnosed with a condition called Esophagitis, which is inflammation and swelling of the esophagus lining caused by acid reflux.
Yesterday, she prescribed some more medications for me to try and recommended some diet changes. She said it can take up to 8 weeks for the esophagus to heal. She wants to see me again in a month, and if I'm not feeling better by then, she'll refer me to a throat specialist.
Giving up caffeine and chocolate will be the hardest part of the diet change for me, because I'm addicted to both. :) If it will make me feel better though, I'm willing to do it. I'm tired of feeling yucky.
OK, enough of the boring medical news. ;) I'm going to try to do some catching up on the blogs now. Hope you all have a great day!
Bon'O,
Just finished reading your blog. What a wonderful idea!!! My parents would love it too so I now know one of the things they'll be getting for Mother's and Father's Day this year. :) Thanks for sharing the idea with us!
Bon'O, I absolutely fucking love you! That was beautiful, touching, and beautifully written! You've just defined a gift for me that is... to borrow a tired but accurate adjective... priceless!
Thanks for sharing!
Amicus: Welcome back! That sounds like a treatable, if temporarily uncomfortable, condition. Keep us posted.
A big good morning shout to Dianne in Denver! LOL!
And a big thank-you to Zona for making her late night list!
Bono..wow what a very sweet, deep idea. A picnic of memories, something no one, not even the ants, could take away. I hope it gives you satisfaction that your nestled in November weekend supplied comfort and smiles and contentment to your Mom.
What a spectacular idea.
It reminds me of something at my "baby shower" ... the gal who gave it had everyone write a wish for my daughter..not yet born..and then put them in a very special wooden box. We get them out every birthday and read them..perfect timing..her bday is today..12.
Thanks cyber sis..for showing a great gift and even though you might blush with this..you also showed a great Gift GIVER!
Peace.
Amicus..congrats on being number one. Thanks for the update...phew..so glad for no more migraines and for not so much fear...so hard. So sorry for the coffee chocolate give up....ouch.
Nowmercy: Happy Birthday to DD!
What a great idea Bon Bon-
When I first began reading, I though you were going to lose me at the "craft" and "Michael's" - I am the UNcraftiest (new word?) person in the world. My idea of doing a craft is peeling the backing off a sticky bow and attaching it to a present.
But I continued and found a special story of a daughters love and a heartfelt gift. Great idea, and thanks for sharing.
Amicus, glad to see you and hear you are on the mend.
Zonababy- if you are there and have read my message on myspace- would you like me to call you a bitch or would you like to go first????? LOL
Ok, Once again I am at work. Lots of comments to read from last night and this whole working thing is getting in the way. I may have to do a Dianne and retire so that I can devote the proper time and energy to this blog.
Have a good one everyone!
I'm back.Good Morning Everyone!!
Bon fantastic blog!!
I loved it.
Thanks for sharing not only a wonderful memory but how to make one too.
Pressies made from the heart are the very best gifts of all.
Happy Hump Day, again :o)
♥xox♥

Whabby cursed, I love it
I forgot we can do that here

Ibebold and Now Mercy, I'd like to be your "friends" on myspace, can you find me through one of the others here, I'm East Bay J, and send a friend request? Thanx!

Thanks, Judy! And now... I have to head off to that annoying work thingy too.
TTFN, owlettes!
Good Morning you crazy crazy Owls!
First I want to say to Bono: Fantastic Idea! I love it and will be thinking of all of the people I am going to make one for!
I too love homemade and handmade gifts! I keep all of them. I display them proudly in my home because that person thought enough of me to take the time and use of their two hands to make the gift!
So Thank you for your memories and your fantastic Idea!
It is amazing how well a person can sleep after eating two of her children! LOL Fell asleep at 8:00pm and did not wake up until 6:30am!
Over 600 posts last night. I don't know what is crazier you guys who posted or me for stopping to read all of them! I have coffee dripping out my nose this morning from laughing!
Zona: You are a trip. But a fun one to take! LOL
Nowmercy, Mercynow: Either name you are fun and wonderful! LOL If you can really pee on a door handle I think I could get you some interesting work! LMAO Happy Birthday to dd!
MaryMI: You surprise me every morning! Happy Belated Anniversary!
Whabbear I read your post and I did not even realize you used the F word until I read another post referring to it! LOL Could it be I might use that word a little too much in my daily life??
This is turning into a long post! I have more greeting but will do a new post to address them!
Ok new post!
Amicus congrats on First! I am so glad you went to see the doctor! I have acid reflux and a heiadal (sp) hernia and they are treatable. Reflux meds really help! Was worried about you!
Tinka: I think your computer may have a virus. A scan will let you know. I did one last week and found a few Trojans and viruses in my system 7 total. I did not tell Mr. Lynn D he would have a fit!
Lovey: I can see you in your slippery slippers now! LOL
Ibebold and MEK: I think you have made a secret pact and are now tag teaming all of us on the march! I am watching you! LOL
Goldie LOL Uncraftiest person in the world!
I know I am missing some of you I am waving really hard and sending big Hugs because you all make my day!
Good Morning to all the early birds, Nowmercy, Whabbear, Love4y, Goldie, cpgem8, IBB, MEK, Bon'O, and Amicus .
Amicus: It's so good to see you posting. I pray the docs can sure your ailment quickly.
Nowmercy: I, too, tried to request you as a friend, but I couldn't get past the email/last name requirement. Please make a request on my page. Oh, and Happy Birthday to your daughter.
Goldie: When I took my early retirement I was afraid I would be bored, but I find now that I don't know how I ever had time to work.
Bon: I loved your Basket of Memories idea. My youngest son is getting married next month and I am going to make one for him. Thanks for sharing the idea with us.
Good morning Lynn D. I guess you really needed sleep after eating your kids.
Amicus: I forgot - congrats on first!!!!
Good Morning, Lynn D and SacBarb.
Just got caught up on last nights antics!! :-) Congrats, Tina on 600!! and I totally agree - each time you win - feels just like the first!! It NEVER gets old!!
Zona - great list - thanks!!
AND, finally, I can't be held responsible if I feel the urge to go to Michael's today - I will swear Bono made me do it!! :-)
Good Morning Owlettes!
AMICUS, I am glad you are feeling better. For you, there will always be decaf beverages and carob candies on the menu.
Congrats on being 1st.
BON'O - what a spectacular idea! I am going to do that for a couple of gifts I need. Thanks for sharing that with us.

IBEBOLD,SACBARB and EAST BAY J.

Scrambled Egg Whites

eat up!
Hi Mo: Thanks for breakfast (here in the west anyway). Scrambled egg sounds really good this morning.
Hi Sacbarb: Yes eating one's children seems to be better than Ambien! LMAO
Good Morning MO!!! Another Delish Breakfast I see!
Oh I think I missed CP and ibebold and East Bay Kitty! Top o' the morning to you!
Bon'O...the teacher in me has gobbled up your fantastic idea. What a great, great present for students to make for a mother's or father's (or caregiver's) day gift!!! Love it and thank you....new fabulous ideas are always appreciated!
Amicus...so great to see you back on here again. Glad you are finding out what has been causing ill health. Hope you are feeling so much better!
Zona...VIG and her cheetos says thank you so much for the great bloggers list you created in the wee hours of last night. You are so right on!!!
BonO What a wonderful idea! It's the time spent with our loved ones that are the most precious gifts and you have found a way to relive those wonderful moments. Thank you so much for sharing.
Amicus Congrats on #1! So glad your mysterious ailment is treatable. Hope you are feeling 100% better soon. It's nice to see you back.
First things first: *Amicus, I am so, so glad to hear you've been to the doc and that you're on the road to recovery. I've been pounding on your front door for days!
And a Happy Hump Day to all the rest of you. Thank you so much for your very generous comments about the TOTD. I know, with all of your creativity and special relationships, my little 'Basket' was just the catalyst to get you started. Craft On, kids....to borrow from Jon Bon Jovi, go "Make A Memory" :o))
*Whab: I think I misread your post at first (it was early & I didn't have my specs on). I got all hot and bothered there for a minute thinking you said something else! Then I decided to bask in the 'Sally Field at the Oscars' moment of a more accurate reading. "He LIKES me. He really LIKES me!!"
*Lynn D: I'm still smiling over you eating your young yesterday! I read it exactly as others did, but by the time I did so, thought it would be 'tedious' to say so, and we owls sure wouldn't want to be tedious :o) ...and btw, I can see how a few Trojans left in your system COULD well cause a virus, or worse!
*Mek: Sure, blame ME for your trip to Michael's...like you need an excuse! That's as bad as blaming your computer when Tina kicks your butt in the nightly March to X00 ((xoxoxox))
*Maureen: Thanks so much for breakfast. I really need to carb up before going out to enjoy this brisk (21 degrees) morning.
See you all later..............WAKE UP, LATE NIGHT OWLS, IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY.
Zona: I forgot to tell you that Clark and I thank you.
popping in quick to say I have a heck of a full day..didn't have my child for dinner so will be busy with her birthday and clients till later..I WILL figure out the myspace mystery which I'm sure is operator error.
Have a great day wherever you are and don't take any nickels for wood...er..or something like that.
Peace...
Bono - What a lovely idea. I am going to pass that one onto my daughter. She loves making gifts like that and I would love to receive one.
Amicus - I got up in the middle of the night to see if you had written. I was glad about the news. Sure hope the meds work. It's bad enough giving up chocolate without thinking there may have to be more serious procedures.
Whabbear - Using the 'F' word is all right on this blog but I have a bar of soap that says you had better not use it too often. LOL
Maureen - There is nothing like an English muffin and tea for mid-morning snack. Thanks for bringing them.
Lynn - It sounds like a virus but Mac's are not supposed to get viruses. It would be just my luck I would get the first one.
I have to read the rest of the posts now. I have no idea what you girls were up to last night. I will comment later. Have a great day. We have another beautiful sunny day here today. My daughter's daffodils are all in bloom. Her's come out before anyone else's I think. Mine are just coming up. Take care.
Love, Tinka
Good Morning...err, afternoon? Whatever time it is where you live, HELLO!
I loved today's blog! It is such a great idea and timely now because my best friend Jane (we have been friends since infants!) is about to have a birthday. And since I used to sell Longaberger baskets, I have a TON of leftover baskets and don't even have to drive to Michaels! Woo hoo!
We were also talking last night, and a group of us are working on a women's retreat for our church and we were discussing a basket idea. Then VOILA, here is this blog! Some of you (Whabbear) will say coincidense, but some of us will wonder if it didn't come from somewhere else. **insert Twilight Zone music here**
Hope you all have a great day! I will check in again later if I can.
Zona - I just loved your long list. You really are your most creative in the middle of the night. You are a nocturnal person that's for sure. We could never get married because I am diurnal. Oh well I love you anyway.
Good day to all!
BonO~Loved your idea. I think I will make one up for my Grandchildren to let them know how I loved watching them grow up.
My mother, who has been gone for 25 years, had a similar idea. She was very spiritual and spent a lot of time fasting & praying. She wrote names of people and their particular problem on little scraps of paper and put them in an old decorative tin. She would pray over this tin. We looked for it after she died but couldn't find it. I'm sure my name was in there many times LOL!! I was kinda the "grey" sheep in the family. She would love that I am now an Owlette!
Amicus Isn't it a relief to know there is an answer to our bizarre symptoms? I went through period where I would suddenly see double vision. Once it happened just as I was getting on the freeway. Not good! Also, I discovered if I tilted my head 90 degrees my vision was fine. I had thoughts of brain tumor and other bad things. Turns out I just needed my thyroid meds adjusted. What a relief that was!
Amicus~ I forgot to welcome you back! You have been missed!
I have trouble with the reflux too. I usually sleep with a bunch of pillow propping me up. I tend to choke easily if I eat too fast or try to walk & eat while I am multi-tasking. I guess we have to take better care of ourselves..Again welcome back!!
Have a great day all~ I am off to the bank. I keep forgetting to deposit receipts from our VFW steak dinner! My ladies might be afraid I will take them to Vegas with me in 3 weeks LOL!!
Bon'O....waht a gret idea! I'm going to try to get my siblings and the grandkids to participate for a basket for my mom for Mother's Day! I better get busy. It will be here before I know it!
Congrats on #1 amicus! I'm glad to hear they have an idea of what is going on so that it can be treated. If I had known about your headaches I would have asked if you started taking any medications or supplements. I got horrible painful headaches when I started taking calcium supplements. Ugh, my head had never hurt so bad before. But I figured it had to be the calcium because that was the only change I had made. So I stopped taking them and the headaches went away. So sometimes it's as simple as that, other times you really need to see a doctor. I'm glad you went to see the doctor. Sorry about the chocolate though. :(
To everyone else....Hi Glynis, MEK, Whab, nowmercy, goldie, lovey, cpgem8, ibe, east bay, lynn d, sac barb, maureen, vig, mary, just_lin, and tinkatia!!! I hope I got everyone!
Have a great Day!
Did someone call Michaels to warn them that MEK was on the way?
*Glynis, Hi! I'm so glad you're back with us. Do come around more often, please. And, "tons" of Longaberger baskets? I am so jealous. They are the best, and I only have four of them. I think you and I should meet up at Country Village in Bothell one day and spend a couple bucks!
For fun, Owls &/or Architecture buffs...go to:
http://www.longaberger.com/homeOffice.aspx
Is that building (Longaberger HQ) not the most ingeneous & appropriate design? No denying what business they are in!
*Zona: I gave up on yesterday's blog somewhere around 1:00am my time and just went back to catch up. If you're not just the sweetest thing...finally, a march that made sense to me! (Again, Tina/MEK...I love watching you have so much fun, but orgasmic? Not! You won't mind if I continue to be a voyeur, though, right?
WooHoo! Starbucks is going to start $1 coffee, with FREE refills no less.
Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome back and kind words about my health! I wasn't feeling the excitement of being the first to post until you all started congratulating me. Now, I feel like I've won some kind of award so I'll be here bright and early tomorrow morning to try again. ;)
Cpgem8: I'm loving your idea to post blogs written by a different Owl each day. It's a fun way to get to know each other better. :)
Whabbear: I've got a bar of soap with your name on it. ;)~
Nowmercy: Happy Birthday to your daughter! I've never been a coffee drinker so that's one habit I don't have to give up, but there are some cans of Coke in the frig that keep calling my name. ;)
Goldie: I'm throwing my hat in the ring for the world title of "Uncraftiest Person." I'd like to nominate Tina as one of the judges, because she's already seen one of my pathetic attempts at craftiness. ;)
Lovey: Happy Hump Day to you too! :)
Ibebold: Hello! Nice to cyber-meet you! :) Are you using a different name on MySpace, because I couldn't find you on MEK's page. I'd like to add you as a friend, if that's OK.
East Bay J: I just finished reading your blog about Paul, and it brought tears to my eyes. Bless your heart for being there for him and his family at such a sad time.
This concludes Part 1 of my catching up effort. Be back soon with Part 2. :)
Well I deserve a break! I have vaccumed my bedroom and dusted it and have stripped the bed. Now If I can just get the energy to make the bed I will feel like I have accomplished something today.
To steal Amicus's words the computer and the Owls keep calling me!
Hi Barb in WA and Glynis!
Tinka is that true??? MAC's don't get viruses??? HMMMM is this propaganda put out by Apple??
Just Lin: I can see you with your head tilted trying to drive! That is crazy! Thyroid can effect so much!
Mary was depositing the VFW money on your list you lost??
Hi Bono!!
Ok back to making the bed!
Okay - so, I am back from Michael's!!
Tina, Barb in WA, SacBarb, Mo, Ibebold, and Bono and all the other crafters - You KNOW you are a scrapbook whore when you have THREE coupons and there is NOTHING TO BUY!!!!!!!!!!! good grief - went to get a monthly publication and they were OUT!!!!!!! crap... (insert Whabby's word of the day!!! LOL) what a wasted trip.. how sad is that!!!!!!!!!!!
Barb in WA - LOL at call ahead and warn them - when I walked in - there were at least 5 employees (no joke) that asked me WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?? (I'm sure their sales have taken a dive since I have been sick!!!)....
Glynis - welcome back!!! i could NEVER pronouce those basket names so I called the longenbonger baskets.........
Whabby - my dear - you don't know HOW many times I have TYPED "that" word, but backed it out after I have lost a race!! :-) -
Okay - now, I have to go to my mom's she is already having problems with her high speed!!
Mo - what's for dinner??!!
howdy to everyone that has posted since I got back....
later.......
Lynn D: I cracked up laughing when I read your blog about cell phones, especially the part about being in the theater. I would love to have you sitting next to me at the theater where I see stage performances. We would make a great team! ;) You can handle the cell phone offenders, and I'll take care of the people who ignore the "No Food Allowed" signs. LOL! It's hard to enjoy a good musical when there's some rude person crunching popcorn. :)
MEK: Are you having fun at Michael's? ;)
SacBarb: Congratulations to your youngest son and fiancee! I love weddings! :)
Maureen: How sweet of you to include decaf beverages and carob snacks! I nominate you for the Blogger Spotlight Award. ;)
VIG: I think it's a wonderful idea to have your students make a Basket of Memories for their parents! Let us know what kind of feedback you get from the parents if you do decide to do it. I bet they'll love you for it! :)
Just Lin: Cpgem8 forwarded your feel better note to me. Thank you!
Zona: I wasn't planning to read all of the posts I missed, because there are so many, but after reading all the comments about your list last night, I had to go read it. You are too funny! :)
End of Part 2, and no, I'm still not done. Please bear with me, because I'm finally in cheery, chatty mood again. ;)
BON'O and GLYNIS,
I got to go to the Longaberger Basket factory and village a few years ago. Quite a fun place. And the basket out front is jaw-dropping amazing!!
MEK - Longonbonger! ROFLMAO!! I am glad you called us crafters not crafty!! TINA is both a crafter AND crafty!
I'm not in a cooking mood, so dinner will be:
Tomato Soup (the Mmm Mmm Good kind!)
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Green Salad w/ asst. dressings
Entenmann's Danishs for dessert.
Soda pops, coffees, teas, water (DECAF varieties for AMICUS)...
and bibs for those of you that dribble your soup! bwahahaha!!
OMG - RIGHT NOW - i could be 200 in the other place - but I just can't !!!!!!! OH, but the urge is uncontrolable.......... LOL
MEK: I can't believe Michael's didn't send you a get well card...after all they had to know you were sick or you would have been there. And I can't believe you couldn't find ANYTHING that you couldn't live without. That NEVER happens to me. I have the same problem with QVC.
Amicus: Thanks, I am just THRILLED that they are finally getting married. They have been together for 14 years and we (the parents) never thought it would happen.
Yesterday I was so bored (at work) my eyes were crossing and today I am so busy I don't have time to read the comments.
But from my skimming, I gathered that:
Glynnis collects Longonbongers and MEK is a whore.( oh, a craft whore!)
Zona put out a hit list and Mo is too lazy to cook.
Mary is abscounding with charity money, Lynn wants my uncraftiness title and thinks just_lin is crazy. Bear needs his mouth washed out with soap, and well, I will have to catch up with the rest later
Did I get it right so far??????
Hey MEK.....go look there!
50!!!!
Zona I loved your list in Area 51. I will get the Bailey's out tonight and give you a toast.
Goldie What an excellent job of summarizing. You must have taken really good notes in school.
You're spot on there goldie!
Amicus so glad you enjoyed my fantasies! LOL Eating in a live theatre??? It has been so many years since I went. I would stare them down for you in a heart beat!!
MEK: A longonbonger was something way different in my teenage years! LOL It had nothing to do with baskets!!!
BarbWA: LMAO 50!!!! You go girl!
Goldie: No time to read at work today?? Yeah Right! Seems you summarized this group today. Is it ESP???
MEK: Resist the puuuuuuuull! I know you can do it!!
Mo: Thanks for lunch. Maybe I won't have to eat any of my four legged children today!
lynn- please the bonger.... ;)
Ok, it has slowed a bit. Damn people were calling and requiring my attention. I mean for heaven's sake, I have other things to do besides work while I am here!
PASS the bonger...
goldie I am passing the bonger. But I think you may have had enough! LOL
ROFMLMAO------ Barb in WA - you just MADE my DAY!!!!!!! My cheeks hurt!!!!!!! you put the BIGGEST smile on my face!!! THANK YOU!!!
I'm back from mom's - well - I am SO happy it was a simple problem - the cable guy (and NO, I did NOT see his crack yesterday) had plugged the high speed box into an outlet that is operated by a light switch!!!!!!! SO, I just had to flip the switch and everything was good!!!!!!!!! (thank goodness)
Oh - Barb - I just can't stop smiling!!! :-)
Oh and this will drive Lynn D to drink - I just saw a SCHOOL BUS driver driving a bus load of kids ON HER CELL PHONE!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH granted, I live in a REALLY small town - but, come on!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay - a nap is REALLY calling my name!!!
Hope everyone is having an excellent afternoon.....
lol@lynn. I am sure that I had a few too many in my day. Today was not one of them (yet).
Lynn - No it's true. Macs don't get viruses. They got a couple of small ones and were caught quickly with the security. It's because Mac's are made from scratch and P.C,'s are added onto. This makes it hard for the geeks to get into them. There are also so many less Mac's than P.C.'s it wasn't worth their while. The day is coming however. It is becoming a contest amongst the Geeks to see who can hack into a Mac. The Apple is tracking them carefully.
LMAO MEK! You are so very welcome!
Hi everyone--well this Noght Owl just woke up!
BON'O: My mom would have loved your Basket of Memories idea. I think I will do it for my sister, as we spend hours laughing til tears run down our faces when we recall moments of our childhood. Like the time I jumped on her bed while she was reading and she flew out the window--no she wasn't hurt!! And no, I hadn't been longonbonging!! I have the perfect Peterboro basket in mind--it's even lined!! Thank you for this idea!
AMICUS: I am SO glad you have found the road to recovery! Not knowing what is wrong is so scary. Now you know it is fixable and fixable is GOOD!
GOLDIE: You crazy nut! I read the blog first when I get up--and you had me afraid to go to Myspace! LOL!!
NOWMERCY: Got your email! Happy Birthday to your daughter.
VIG: Loved the picture! I think I've resembled that..certainly on the inside--but probably on the outside too. LOL!
WHABBEAR: Well your post certainly opened my eyes! It also reminded me we can speak without censoring ourselves here.
TINKA: Daffodils? My very favorite flower-ever! I don't think I've ever seen any growing wild--just in floral arrangements. I may have to check into where I can find them for REAL! Love you too cybermom!
MAUREEN: Grilled cheese and Tomato soup? YUM!! Thank you..I'll have to bring a few saltine crackers though. ;)
MEK: I have the exact opposite experience in Michaels--there's TOO much that I don't have, and I want to buy everything!
LOVEY: Your interjections were hysterical last night!
Now to check on the march to 100..
*MEK: NOW I know the infranty's secret to midnight stealth success=an afternoon nap!
LOL @ *Goldie: " I am sure that I had a few too many in my day. Today was not one of them (yet). " Hey, kiddo, the day is young. Come on over. It suddenly occurred to me, I just retired from law-enforcement. I can do as I please now!! Gawd, how many years has it been?
LOL again @ Zona launching her sister out the window. bwaahaahaa
*Tinka: Daffodils in bloom ALREADY? They're only about 3" out of the ground here.....just in time to get snowed on tonight. Which reminds me..off to get fresh batteries for the camera. I sense a photo opp in my future if it snows.
Good Afternoon Everyone!
Does anyone else have a problem signing in each time to the Night Owls's??
Every time I try to comment it says I have either an invalid password or username.
This is about the 5th time I have activated a new account. I have used both of my email addreses, and if I can't get in after this I am sunk!
I have written down each and every password, username, etc and when I try each one I get the dreaded (sorry) FOAD.
So, I will try again!!!
Anyway, I absolutely loved today's blog! Bon'O what a lovely idea! I have done similar things, but I am so not crafty! I love the basket idea. I no longer have any parents living to give them a basket, but I am sure it would work for friends, or my daughters. Maybe they would also start one for me!!!
Mo~~We LOVE tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches! The Dr though, nixed the canned soup for Laurie! So, I will be on a hunt for a new low sodim tomato soup. I would love to make a homemade cream of tomato soup. (with lots of basil and garlic) Any one have a recipe? If not, I will let my fingers do the typing and find one on the internet.
Amicus~~ I am so glad that you finally have a diagnoses. That is half the battle won right there!
Giving up chocolate and coffee will be tough, but you can do it!!! Laurie and I have to learn to live with a low sodium diet, so I understand the struggle you will have.
Well, I sure hope I can get back in again with my NEW address and password!! Oh, BTW what happened to all my other accounts??? Carol, can you help me?
Have a great afternoon everyone, Donna
Hmmm, I thought I posted in here yesterday but couldn't find it -- did anybody see me? If not, I tried to explain this this is outatuune/Caryn but I have to be signed in under hubby's name or else I have to sign in/out/in/out, etc to check our email. At least he has a pretty cool photo blog linked to his account and a "500 words" countdown to 01/20/2008 that he started about 138 days ago.
I started reading today's comments and realized I really need to go read BonO's excellent blog. Hopefully I'll have more time this afternoon evening to come back and chat with y'all!
Caryn
Bono - haven't had that nap yet - I'm on my way now - SO, I will probably miss the march to 100 - SO, make me proud...
Just watched Ellen - the animal guy had an owl as the first critter!! I smiled and thought of us...
DJ - I just leave myself signed in ALL the time - so i never have any problems....... hope you get your problem solved....
MO - soup and sandwiches works for me - MR. MEK just called he will be late!!
Welcome Caryn (outatune) - so glad you finally made it......
Now - you can change your "blue" name in your profile!!
Good to have you here and no, I didn't see a post yesterday!!
Enjoy - we have a cabinet full of snacks, supplies, food, "adult" beverage, etc..........
We promote fun (and marching!!LOL)
enjoy...
Caryn - I just re-read your post and it's yummy hubby's blog thingy - whabby will be excited to see you guys here!! :-)
anyway - at this rate - Iwill be here for the march.. LOL
Hi outatuune- good to see you again!
DJ- I have not had that problem, sorry I can't be of any help.
bon bon- I refuse to answer how many years its been on the grounds that it could incriminate me. :)
How long do you think it will take for me to get there? Don't tell Whabbear, he will bogart the whole thing.
Tina: "The room glows with love, acceptance, and most of all, laughter." Love it! What a perfect description of this blog!
Bon'O: I heard your knocks, but I was busy choking on a coney dog. My apologies for the poor hospitality. ;)
Tinka: I see you're familiar with the bar of soap method too. LOL! I didn't read your post before I sent mine. Whabbear's going to have a very sudsy mouth. ;) Thanks for checking on me last night! I'm determined to follow my doctor's orders to a T so I won't have to have the other procedure. :)
Glynis: "doo doo do doo, doo doo do doo" Theme song inserted. ;)
Just Lin: Brain tumor was a concern of mine too since I was having so many migraines in a short period of time. Getting a diagnosis has been a big relief, because my mind was wandering in all sorts of scary directions. :) Glad your symptoms turned out to be something treatable too.
Mary/Mi: When I got home from the doctor's office yesterday, I pulled out my trash can and started pitching all the food in my frig and cabinets that I'm not supposed to eat. I decided that's one way to start taking better care of myself. The Coke in my frig is the only survivor...for guests, of course. ;)
Barbara in WI: I wish I would have talked to you, because I didn't think about migraines being a medication side effect. I still haven't read the info sheet the pharmacy included (shame on me), but I'm guessing it's probably listed since my doctor immediately thought of it as the cause.
Lynn D: Yes, there are people who seem to think no one will notice they're eating if the lights are off. It's one of my biggest pet peeves at the theater so their snack time is over quickly if they're sitting by me. ;) I have no problem saying something to them about it, because it's incredibly rude!
DonnaJean: In the "Username" field, I have to type in my email address instead of Amicus. Are you typing in "donnajean"? If so, try your email addy instead.
Zona: It is a relief to know I'm fixable. ;)
Bon'O~ I love that idea~ I'm going send the idea to my hubby and see if he wants to spread the word to his teachers (especially 8th grade for graduation!) Thanks~
amicuss~ congrats on first.....and I'm so happy you are doing better~ Thanks for the email~ :D Oh...and people...this woman IS crafty~ :)~
Whabbear~ I have been wanting to fucking say that for a really long time~ :)~
Mercynow~ happy b-day to DD~
Goldie~ I swear to God and all others who will listen....you are so stinkin' funny~ :D
Welcome outatuune/Caryn/Paul~
MEKinaz~ OMG! I've walked into Robert's Crafts with my handy-dandy coupon and have left empty handed! well....I did it once. I looked so forlorn when I left...like I had lost my best friend. I'm with ya honey...there is nothing worse than leaving a craft store empty handed! :(
Zona~ OMG!!! you had me rolling on the floor laughing with your posting early this morning....too funny....and LOVEY...you were hilarious jumping in here and there~
Just checkin in.
Hi Caryn aka outatune or is it Paul F???LOL Welcome to the nest.
Oh Amicus you and I would be a great tag team at the theaters!
DonnaJean do what Amicus said I sign in with my email address and then the password. I have the site book marked. Oh I sign in on my blog page that I was assigned. Hope that helps.
Bono: No snow!!! I have to drive tomorrow! I see you doing the snow dance. Knock it off!!!
Ok back to housework! almost done for today and I'm exhausted!
Amicus~Coke is a weakness in this house too!
LynnD & Goldie~ Auxiliary money is safe & sound in the bank LOL!! I am bonded as their Treasurer. I understand one of their treas. did abscond with monies a long time ago. That is why I panic when I am off even 10 cents in my audits!
Out-a-tune~ Glad you made it through! I keep this link in my tools bar. I click it and is always signed in.
TINA: Would you prefer lavender, tea tree or ivory soap?? LOL!
Amicus - So happy to see you posting frequently today. I really missed you and I am so glad your migraines are gone. Yes I am familiar with the 'soap in the mouth' syndrome. I never had it happen to me 'being such a good little girl' but we were threatened by the nuns if they heard a 'darn' or any other such bad word. Imagine how long a teacher would have her job if she tried that today. I love that scene in "The Christmas Story".
Zona - My favourite flower is the daffodil. I love yellow and we have them blooming by the thousands in March. I love to buy them at the super-market as soon as they are selling them in January. It is such a sure sign spring is coming.
Bon Oregon - Since my daughter and family have moved into their new home 9 years ago, daffodils have lined their front path in January. One year they bloomed for Christmas. We have no idea why. No-one else on their street has them. They look like a normal daffodil but they are 'over' by the time everyone else's daffs are blooming.
I am waiting to see the first snow drop on my daily walks with my 'fur-babies'.
Amicus - Last night I accidentally stayed signed in to this site. Is that a dangerous thing to do? It sure made it easy to post this morning but I don't want to cause any harm to the site or to me.
Zona~ i'm an ivory girl~ :D
TINKA: How did you stay signed in? I always have two windows open..now that I know how, and just flip back and forth. In fact-last night I had FOUR open..it was such a rush!
TINA: Why do I doubt that? 99.9% pure huh?
Zona~ well...okay....i used to be an ivory girl~ :)~
Zona~ was it orgasmic to have 4 at once? :)~
Tina an Ivory girl?? LMAO More like LAVA you know it has pumice in it! Really scrubs the tongue clean!
*outatune/Karyn/paul....geesh, I thought mercynow/B/nowmercy & EBJ were confusing with all their names. This is really a challenge. At any rate, WELCOME! And, how 'bout a MySpace addy? Don't think we've connected there, yet.
*Lynn D: True Confessions...I did it, I'm sorry. But daughter called from North Carolina just as I was pulling out of the store lot coming home from my run for batteries. Talked all the way home :o( and, so sorry, but I love to watch the snow fall, so I'm hoping, hoping. I'm just STARTING housework, so I'm sure I'll be lurking out of the line of fire during tonight's marches.
and speaking of cell phones & batteries: *Tina, if we had exchanged those #s yesterday, I'd have called you from the store......all Panasonic battery 4 & 8 packs were 'buy 2, get 1 free'. I'd have stocked up for you and your "appliances".
Oprah just came on. Gosh, I'd forgotten how short Paul Anka is!
DJ: Like MEK, I stay logged into the Nest, MySpace & RossBlog 24/7, so I'm no help.
*Goldie: I promise, I won't start without you. Do bring Whabby & Huzbear with you......................and lots of munchies :o)
Oh, *Amicus: just read your "choking" post. My guess is you're going to get some feedback on that after happy hour.
Zona, I think you had better send Tina a six pack of lava soap (to clean her mind)LOL!!
Zona~ Now I'm an OLAY ULTRA MOISTURE BODY WASH WITH SHEA BUTTER
girl~
Bon'O~ sweetie....I don't need the batteries....THAT is Jodi and Mary/MI~ They are the ones with the toys! Remember.....mary spent her anniversary with us and Bob~ should have called me.....i was driving to work and didn't call anyone....there was a big sign on the freeway that said "Cell phone users will be shot!"
MARY/MI & LYNND: LOL at lava soap!
TINA: Seems to be a trend here..I don't think even OLAY can save you! How about Simple Orange--you don't need water for that...
UH--a rush yes..orgasmic, no...maybe I need five--can I fit five at once? ;)
Tina~ I think it's time for you to seek help LOL!! I don't recommend Dr Phil, maybe Dr Whabbear!
Remember I gave my "toys" up to the trash man!
Zona~ I don't know about 5...you'll need to ask either Jodi or Whabbear!~ (notice how I'm ignoring the whole lava thing?)
LEFT LEFT LEFT RIGHT LEFT...
Mary/Mi~ you gave up your toys for the trash man? I hope he's cute~ :)~
*ZONA....No,You Dittn't!!!!!!
uh, *Tina: It's time for you to update your MySpace status again. Hurry!
Zona~You're a hell of a woman "4 at a time"! I can barely handle one!
BON'O: It's an addiction...
Bon'O~ oh....i didn't need that picture~ :D
95
96
I am putting on my Cheeta shoes!!
I hope MEK is still sleeping!
ladies...i'm at work...don't have time to dilly dally~
oh oh
oh
MARY/MI: Tina taught me how..when I told her I could only open one her response was "WTF--just DO IT!"
somewhere close?
100
Tina So glad you took that sign seriously!
MEK: I forgot the Bus Driver talking on a cell??? She probably drinks too! In WA it is illegal now if you get caught big ticket! What the heck is AZ thinking?
Bono: Quit it Quit it! I know you are praying for snow! Talking on the cell and driving! Does your insurance cover that????? Bet they don't! What were YOU buying batteries for??
HI Zona!
Ok who ran me down!!!!
And the winner of the all expense paid trip to iteaches husbands bed is......M/M~ yay~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crap you guys distracted me again!! I missed the March!
MARY/MI: Have a cigarette and some wine--calm down now...;)
LYNN D: HI!! AZ is concerned with regulating the SALE of cell phones-not where you use them. It's all the hot air here...fries the brain..that's my excuse!
lynn D~ you should have gotten off your cell phone~ :)~
LynnD: I'll have you know I was buying batteries for my Sony Cybershot so I can take pictures of the SNOW!!! No 'toys' needed at my house *smiling*.
There is no way....I am no longer the running virgin? Pant ,Pant!! Yeah!! Bring on Mr/iteach!!
BonO~Just how long are you keeping that smile on your face? Have pity on an old lady LOL!!
Thanks for all the help, everyone. I don't really sign out, I just close down my computer at night, and then when I come back on, I have to re-sign in.
This last time when I re-signed into google, it didn't give me a gmail addy, I just used my sbcglobal.net address.
Is that what I should put in, plus the new password?
So sorry to be such a pest.
I really am NOT that computer illiterate, but last week when I started all this, was very unnerving, and I was very tired, so I don't know what I did to screw it all up!
I do know that at first I got a gmail account, now I don't, only using the above address. I am confused.
If you don't hear from me here, know that I screwed up again!
I have been commenting on Ross's Blog, so I can always be found there!
You gals, (and whabbear) have so much fun at night! I just can't stay up that late, or if I am up, I am usualy reading.
Laurie is doing much better today. She will be seeing the Dr (cardio) in SF next week, and then we will know for sure if more surgery is indicated.
She actually ate apples and low sodium peanut butter today for a snack! That is amazing, as it usually has to be microwave popcorn!
Have fun tonight!!! I will try to get back and see what shenanigans you are all up to. But, I think Tinka has a firm hand on all of you!!!!
Till later, Donna & Laurie
If Mr. Iteach is smart he is running right now!
BONO I get it you have a Pollinex instead! LOL
Zona: Regulating the sale of them! I agree it must be the heat! Who cares who sells the darn things?
*Mary/MI: You need to bring Mr. iteach out of the house. Mrs. iteach has 'Amazing Grace' playing, and it would just be wrong there, ya know? I, on the other hand, changed my music to Freddie Mercury's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and still have my Paolo Nutini's "Rehab" cover video at my*space, so come on over. Just pay no attention to those of us in the other room with the munchies.
DonnaJean: Glad to hear Laurie is doing so much better and that she is adjusting to her new diet!
I should have told you I come to the blog and at the top it says Sign in. I click that and sign in. It takes me to my gmail and I sign in. Then I hit bookmark and I am on the blog. Hope that is not to confusing!
Mary?MI Congrats on winning time with Mr. Iteach in his bed. Please report back to us on your experience. LOL
DonnaJean I also have the this site bookmarked. You can either sign in on the Gmail Blogger page or before your first posting of a comment on the Owls page. You have to use your gmail addy and password.
mary/mi~ can we watch? We're all family now, right? :)~
Well Mr. Lynn D is home and is accusing me of not listening to him. Like tonight is any different! I just don't get what his issue is??
I'll be back in a bit after I let him talk himself out!
LYNN D: I should have been clearer-I tell you it's too much sun-they are trying to pass a bill doing away with the locked in 2 year contracts. They want you to have 30days to get out of any contract you do sign without any penalty. They also want to force the sellers to tell the comsumers what they can expect for a bill each month and what little extra charges might show up. No surprises. There are dozens of lobbyists descending on the Capitol to stop this bill.
DONNAJEAN: Did you save this website to favorites? It's the easiest way to go.
LynnD~LMAO!! Mr/iteach wouldn't know what hit him! I haven't had sex all year! Ok, it is still Jan.
Time for me to get my evening chores done (not my hubby lol!). Later, be nice LynnD , Tina & Zona.
DJ~ Keep coming back!
TINA: I know--what's a comsumer--or maybe you don't need to ask that at all...consumer is what I meant...
I'm leaving for a while to meet friends for dinner so I'll probably miss a couple of marches. Good luck to you all! Mr. Iteach is going to be very busy. Does he know how lucky he is? He may need reinforcements before too long.
BonO~ The only song played here is the Minute Waltz" LOL! Poor Hubby! I better quit picking on him or he will cut me off!!
And No, you can't watch! There are a few "hot" secrets I keep to myself. You know, the kind that drives'em wild!! Heh Heh!!
Zona~ i got a call (remember...I'm at work....) and so was a few posts behind... and I thought...does she know she wrote that....ha...I'm gonna pounce....then....sadly....you posted again and made me just laugh~ I guess I'm just predictable~ :)~
Zona~ i got a call (remember...I'm at work....) and so was a few posts behind... and I thought...does she know she wrote that....ha...I'm gonna pounce....then....sadly....you posted again and made me just laugh~ I guess I'm just predictable~ :)~
Oh Mary~ do tell.....I promise not to try them on Mr. Mary~ :)~
and that double post was on purpose...I wanted to make sure Zona didn't miss it~ :)~
Zona - When I leave the Night Owl site I just shut it down. Under my browser are the words 'Blogger:Dashboard' and 'Blogger Comment'. When I want to get back to the site I click on one and then the other and it opens to night.owls.sb. Yesterday I reset Safari and I had to sign it because that clears everything. I had some trouble because it said my e-mail address didn't exist. It finally let me in and I am staying in unless someone tells me that is not a wise thing to do. I stayed 'signed in' on the Ross blog too when the new system came in. I am not now because I don't blog there anymore but it was convenient at the time.
LynnD: if you had snow, you could send Mr. LynnD outside to shovel. just sayin'
mary/mi: I was going to say "as long as you don't cut HIM off, Lorena B", but that would have just been too easy, so I won't.
I need the bong, the jagetmeister, a bj and sex on the beach. I just spent and hour uploading my updated virus protection, UGGHHHH!!!! Nothing ever goes smooth when you expect it too.
Missed the march, perhaps the next one.
Where the heck is Jodi????
TINKA: I could pretend to understand that, but you wouldn't respect me if I did. All I know is I have this site saved to faves and I click on it and I'm here. Once I sign in, I'm signed in until I turn off the computer..then I restart the whole process. I don't think staying signed in hurts anything.
TINA: You aren't THAT predictable, you spelled predictable right and that surprised me!! LOL
Good afternap !!!
LOL at "hope MEK is still napping" -
Congrats to Mary in Mich - was it as good for you???!! :-)
Goldie - when are you hopping on that plane to come for a visit??!! I have an extra set of clubs!! :-)
I'm still wakig up!! Almost forgot about Idol tonight...
waking up!!! geez.........
MEK: You're awake!! LOL!
Yes, Zona - I AM awake!! I'm sure the next march will take place right in the middle of Idol!!
Does anyone know if the gal wins a million on Deal or No Deal?? that comes on at the same time as Idol - AND, we'll have to remember to put SPOILER on our notes -
Dianne in Denver - I'm sorry that we ruined Biggest Loser for you!! That was our bad!!!
Oh - we are going to do Pic in Pic so - i don't need anyone to tell me about Deal... (You know, Mr. MEK just does NOT like these audition things)... :-(
Zona~ lol...you are so unpredictable~ :)~
Mek~ is it just me, or are all our husbands getting in the way?~ :D
TINA: Not me, but I sure know someone that is!! Maybe even two someones...
Tina - sometimes I think so, BUT, he just stated that he is SO excited that Ibebold got hooked up in here - so that she could enjoy our FUN!!!!!!!!!!! what a nice thing for mr. Mek to say!!
MEK--- See that is wht he is favorite bil..!!!!
Good evening ladies!!!
umm ... why
Hi IBEBOLD--how's the evening treating you?
Zona - I should have just said "I stay signed in all the time" instead of going into details using Mac language. If you used PC language on me I wouldn't have understood either.
Donna Jean - I have tried to keep a firm hand on these teen-agers but I have totally lost control, even of my own daughter Zona. I just hand them over to the guardian angels now, say a prayer that they stay safe all night and I go to bed. What else can one do with night owls. As Regis would say "THEY ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!"
Pretty good... Idol is a little weird tonight...
Hi Everyone...Amicus, I am so glad you are feeling better and know what is wrong. Isn't it amazing how our minds work when we don't know what is wrong with us. My daughter tells me that I imagine so much that I should write for Disney!!
Hi Caryn, welcome to the nest. Boy, the room is pretty darn clean right now so it is a great time to eat the soup..think I need to heat it up (see Tina, I do something around here).
Tomorrow is a big day for me, I am going to get dressed and see if I remember how to drive. It is still very cold here so I am not that anxious.
Well, I will be watching you all march..good luck.
MEK- considering that the windchill is going to be down to a -30 again tonight, I am thinking about 8:00 am tomorrow. Work for you???? Lordy, they were not kidding when they called this the frozen tundra!
ibebold, got any of that cheesecake left? It sure was yummy last night.
Tink, you have to keep those kids in line. Especially Zona, that one is a pistol.
So did anyone think that Aretha on Idol wasn't as bad as the judges thougth? Could it just be the fact that I am tone deaf?
DIANNE: Hi cutie! Are you finally beginning to feel better? Imagination--you and me both!
GOLDIE: Jodi is the pistol...I'm the boring one!
Goldie - we are watching Idol right now - haven't seen "Aretha" yet - we just had the angry waitress...... :-) AND, what time does your plane LAND?? I'll be there to get you!!
Ibebold - Yes, and you are his favorite SIL.. :-)
Dianne - be careful - The first day I thought I felt "okay" set me back bigtime!!
Well Mr. Lynn D and I had a scintillating conversation about nothing!!! Are my black jeans clean? Did you Go to Wal-mart and get my saline spray? etc.... Now he is asleep in the chair! LOL
I love him but come on! I think he just considers me his Personal Assitant sometimes!
Hi Dianne and Ibebold! Waving at you!
Zona- Jodi is more like a double barreled shotgun than a pistol!! And don't get me started on Tina~ or Lynn.....
not sure yet MEK- we have to make sure it isn't frozen to the ground and actually takes off.
GOLDIE: an Uzi and a Glock??
Dianne: Same here with the set backs and I still don't have my voice back.
I am seriously considering my own let me talk dirty to you phone line with my new raspy whispery voice. But then I cough and gag and it just looses effect!
LYNN D: No, no the cough and gag could be a GOOD effect...;)
I was thinking I was more of a stun gun!
Lynn D - lol at your own hot line -
Goldie - are you going to bail on Jodi for lunch on Friday!! LOL!! I'll get us a tee time!! :-)
You got it Zona
1-800-dial a hack- hmmm, maybe not so sexy
Ok Zona I just coughed and gagged at the thought! LMAO
Oh Shit, no I will have to fly home quick. Can't bail on Jodi- she would hunt me down. Just have a drinky in the clubhouse while I just do a quicky back and forth.
Oh, that quicky comment is going to bite me in the ass, isn't it??
Yes it is Goldie! I was waiting for Tina to jump out of the wood work. Who are you doing the back and forth quickie on?
Hey Nightowls!
I read the comments, I just don't have the stamina to reply to all of you. Sorry, hoping all will understand.
Really busy at work today trying to get all the nutty jersey people to AZ for the superbowl. Everything is sold out. Tomorrow is another day!
Hope all had a good day!
:O)
Bonnie thanks for todays daily blog, it was sweet with memories which is my favorite topic!
be back in awhile kids, have to go finish some laundry. Damn maid didn't show again
GOLDIE: It'll just be a nip though...
Goldie - i am NOT going to touch that last comment, but I know a few in here that will have hay day with it....... I'm ducking!!!
LOL- ok have at me. I will be back in awhile. ;)
Add back and forth quickie as a possible talk dirty option. Have guest speaker Goldie for the day! LOL
I just got tomorrows daily blog in my inbox, from a nightowl.
And all I can say is Wow
Tomorrow it will be yours to see!
cpgem - I had not thought about all the people trying to get INTO AZ - as we are flying OUT on that day!! :-) Just hope our hotel lets us check in, in time for the game..
cpgem- you are such a tease!!LOL we will all look forward to it..
CPGEM8: Looks like the people next door are renting their house out for SuperBowl week...what was that you told me about Giant's fans??
Zona - we read that people are getting BIG bucks for renting out their homes - I don't think i could do that...
cp what does Wow mean is that a good wow or is that a nervous wow??
I can't wait!
I could not rent out my house!! No way!
The though of strangers going through my stuff would make me crazy!
Lynn D - EXACTLY - my thoughts EXACTLY - "going thru MY stuff"! oh I shutter.
Gosh, I can't keep up. Daughter is repainting every room in their entire house (it's only a couple years old) and sent about 10 Flip videos so I'm bouncing between those, the news, and you all. Goldie's doing quickies already? I think we need more than soup and grilled cheese for dinner from now on, Mo, to sop up the liquor. Is it just me, or did we revert to night-time mode early today? I kinda like it. And, thanks to all of you in the 'early' time zones. I can keep up with how things are going on A.I. without having to actually watch it!
Thanks again, Carol. My pleasure. Can't wait for tomorrow's Wow.
MEK: I'm just worried about who it is..hopefully a whole dorm didn't pool their money and decide to move in next to me..
brb laundry calling my name... Happy Marching!!!
LYNN D: They tell the homeowners to take anyhthing of value, anything personal and anything that could break-out of the house. What's left then??
Zona be afraid very afraid!
Well gang Mr. Lynn D woke up and wants to watch our tape of Medium. I better get down there before he starts it without me.
I will see or read you all tomorrow! (((Hugs)))
Zona - that happened to a person during our golf tournament last year - on MY hole - had about 30 young men on the back porch making SO much noise the TOP 64 players in the world were being yelled at and it was NOT pretty - I had to talk to the tournament director - they had to go to the house - turns out the people rented their house and gave the gate code which got emailed to millions - second day went alot better - !!!!
