try as i might there is
just no connection to real money
i don't like the way they
smell, kinda dirty, like
a rotten copper smell
and what use do they have
nothing is a penny anymore
except maybe the penny slots
and if you do play the penny slots
not much of a payoff, i would think
i don't keep any pennies, i give
them away, no connection
now my connection is very
strong with the $100.00 bill

I have never really thought about penny's. I know I don't do penny slots, not much payoff there. But we do save our change and have been amazed at the end of a year what we (hubby and I) have accumulated. We used to do that to save for summer vacation when the kids were little otherwise we were too broke to do much. I still get a kick out of going to the bank once a year to see how much we have saved!

I work retail, so pennies drive me crazy. We have a penny cup on the counter - I swear - some people are so cheap. They will dig in there for 10 cents or more if you let them. I say "Need a penny, take a penny......Need 10.....get a freakin' job"!!! Ok....enough yammering on for now.

Hi jodi 10 pennies get a freakin job! Laughed so hard I coughed my lung up!
Pennies well I am a firm believer in saving pennies as that is usually the only money I am left with at the end of the day! So I save. Last year all the coin helped pay for or trip to Georgia.
Now if I don't get better here soon you maybe putting some pennies over my eyes.
cp: Fed ex those panties my way. I am going to crawl up the stairs and get a pile of laundry to do today. Mr. Lynn D just did not appreciate me stealing from his underwear drawer. I have to say this irritates me as I am the one who buys his tighty whitey's and washes them even when they are unspeakable when he is sick.

When I lived in L.A, I saved my pennies, nickles and dimes (quarters were for laundry!) and I saved enough to go to Vegas and also to see Braodway plays that came to town. It added up quite quickly. I also saved them again and it paid for a trip to NYC!
I found it to be relaxing to periodocally sit and roll the coins!
So, I kinda do connect to pennies!
But cpgem8, you are right - they do stink and always seem to be dirty! And $100 bills are much nicer!

Moweenie/Maureen: I'm going to grab some juice and Kleenex, Vincent is home sick today, he has had a fever of 102.2 since Saturday, I'm hoping his fever broke last night, I'm gonna go check in a few I just gave him some sudafed for his nose, He can't breath thru it. He also has asthma, and he seems to be coughing a lot, I see a doctor visit in the next day. I don't like to wait to long with him, actually all three of them, I'm a worry wart when it comes to my kids.
Mek--This cleaning is interferring in my computer time, but I have to start somewhere LOL, Laundry, I think, It sounds like everyones got this same bug, I think it might maybe be a flu of some sorts, maybe I'm not a doctor or a nurse.
Ok off to do the Mommy thing I know hes 11 but he still likes to get babied. But hey my husband is 42 and he likes to be babied when hes sick. Ok I'm taking the juice, kleenex, and some other things. I'll check back later.

cpgem - We have a special needs girl who has a penny drive every year that goes to the Children's Hospital. Her goal is to raise a million dollars. She is getting close to it. I throw my pennies in a jar for her. I don't like them in my purse either. They feel dirty. 'Canada' says they will soon be gone. It takes more than a penny to make a new penny.

LynnD - I'm the one that recommended Fisherman's Friend cough drops. When I used to smoke (stopped almost 2 yrs ago) and got a cold, I would cough SO BAD. Talk about coughing up a lung. I'm surprised I didn't trip over it on the floor. It was hideous and embarassing. Do you ever get the really bad cough that doesn't stop until you gag at the end? Anyway those cough drops were the only ones that would help. Codeine is better though. Hope you all feel better soon.

Oh and about pennies, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but in Australia they have done away with them...and my pockets and wallet were never so light as without pennies. I really enjoyed not dealing with the evil penny!!!!

Jodi - My new chair is great. That was part of the problem. I was so comfortable yesterday I didn't realize how many hours I spent writing messages and sending picture comments. I am feeling the results today.

My fur-babies were groomed today. They look so cute. The 3 of us are going to snuggle down for the night with a heating bag for my neck and lots of down comforters. I love cozy winter nights. Hi...thanks for all the help MEK and Bon'o. I am home now and able to just click on and post as usual. I need to see if someone has any trouble when they log on from a different location. It was driving me crazy and I did have the correct password after all and now I forgot what the heck I wrote.
There are two roxiegirls one is roxigirl and the other one is roxiegirl61. The second one made it clear last week that the first one was not her...who knows..

iTeach....yes, I am a great fan of the Poohbear. In fact, I have friends who remind me of Piglet(high energy) and Eeyore (plodding and analyze everything through and through quite often negatively). That is cool your class is celebrating AA Milne's birthday. What grade do you teach? If you teach a lower primary grade, do you do a teddy bears picnic with that?

I just wanted my chores done and to hang out on the blog. That's all. Is that too much to ask? So I started with the dishes. No biggie. Hey....while I'm at it, I'll boil some eggs for my lunch during the week! Easy! So the dishwasher is loaded and started....hmmmmmm....what to do now? I know, I'll go upstairs and potty and put on my jammies! You would think that wouldn't take too long, BUT.....if you take a book in with you.....(shaking head)....it takes a lot longer than originally planned! Hey....what is that smell? WOW....the heater never smelled like that before. OH FREAKING MOTHER OF PEARL!!!! (this was cleaned up for those of you who couldn't possibly take what I actually said!) THE EGGS!!! My entire house...upstairs, main floor, basement....wreaks of burnt hard boiled eggs! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry! But then I thought...hey....I could share that on the blog~ The moral of the story is......there is a reason for everything, and my reason is the blog~ :)~
Mo~ All I could think of as I struggled to open the kitchen window, was.....I'm so freaking glad that Mo is in charge of the food!!!! Or all those lovely ladies would starve if I was in charge~ :)~

ITEACH - My youngest is in 2nd grade and they are having the Teddy Bear picnic soon!! So fun for the kids.
We are celebrating Pooh on Friday with all kinds of neat activities. However, I am skipping the Teddy Bear Picnic this year. I have done it in the years past.
I have 19 boys in my classroom this year. Most of those 19 boys are boys that live on the "street". Which means no parent support and do things that they shouldn't do. So we have been doing a lot more "sport" themes this year in my classroom. However, I will not give up my Pooh!
