Alan Jackson wrote “Sissy’s Song” about a family friend and co-worker that died an early death. He sang it at her funeral with no intention of this ever being on an album. It is a very soothing and heartwarming song and I wanted to share it with everyone. Because a year ago today, one of my best friends in the whole wide world was taken from this earth. Her life was cut short by a person that chose to drink and drive.
Every time I hear this song – I think of Chris – I can, literally, hear her saying “don’t worry ‘bout me”………. Well, I miss her more than ever and more than anyone will ever know.
So, today, let’s all remember loved ones that we have loved and lost. I hope everyone has an excellent day!!

sacBarb - the little one did better yesterday - she actually wanted to go into PetSmart and greeted EVERYONE - people, kids, dogs - you name it - she wanted to know about it.......
we practiced "COME" - cuz she really has a hard time with that..
So - today - at the dog park - we stood at opposite ends and just called her back and forth!!
She met a new "friend" today - they could have been twins....
OH and we saw some of the most beautiful dogs - one - a four month old bull mastiff - brindle like our Barney - this dog already almost weighs 100 pounds!! WOW...
(we went into the small dog area - since she's a puppy and Bailey is "senior citizen"...
but - it was a good morning... Mr. Mek is on his way to my mom's to do some "honey do's" for her...
just a lazy day!!!

I am off to a bbq that a friend of mine has every year. My husband talked me into him staying home doing some things I need done..trade...no party for a honey-do...guess he really didn't want to go. He doesn't really know anyone and this year my sil has to work so he really won't know anyone. Hey, it gave me a great time to make a list without him complaining!

Just a note regarding Tina's newest pictures...
1)We don't really keep a recliner in our driveway. Goodwill was picking it up at 7AM the next day..but we told TINA it was her welcome throne.
2) Happy to see MrD had underwear on for the picture or it would have been porn!!
3) I don't really have five chins..as JODI said..it was the camera angle. I tried to look up for them but Tina and my husband said it looked like I was staring at the ceiling..and my "good friend" TINA mentioned that too bad I was short and then I could look up all the time and they wouldn't show....now that's a caring and thoughtful friend!!!
4) Tina's camera adds a good (I mean bad) 50 pounds or 200 pounds to some of the people ....not the camera owner tho'
END OF DISCLAIMER....
I just wanted to pop in and explain my sucky day yesterday. I had to ask a volunteer to leave the food bank. It was not a pretty process and so I answer my own question can you fire a volunteer? Yes you can and sometimes you have to. I was hit with so many problems yesterday I almost got in my car and left. I am still exhausted.
Today is not going much better. I had a phone message from a family member that was basically incoherent this morning. I called my Dad to find out what was going on and two of my cousins tried to commit suicide last week. Thank God neither one suceeded but it sounds like it is going to be rough going for both of them.
I think I am just on overload today and am not processing everything and seem to be suppressing tears all the way around. I am not going to be all jokey today because of it. I do have to run errands and grocery shop as we are out of everything here. Ironic as I spend so much time at the food bank. I just hope I can get through the chores before I let myself have time to absorb all of this.
I will try to post later but no guarantees because I may just go back to bed and pull the covers over my head and go to sleep.

I just got up long enough to count to 50. That's enough exercise for me today. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. Last Sunday at this time I was on Glacier Bay. That now seems like weeks ago. Where does the time go? Back to rest my weary head.
I am packing for a trip to Seattle. My 37 year old son is scheduled for a quadruple bypass next Thursday and I am going up there to be with him. I wasn't going to mention it here, but I decided he could use all the prayers and good thoughts the nest offers.
I am leaving at 5am on Tuesday and I have a lot to do tomorrow, so I don't know if I will be here. I will try to check in while I am gone.

I am glad you shared with us, I will certainly wholeheartedly be thinking about you, your son, and your family. He is awful young to be going thru such a surgery. However the strides they have made with bypass surgery is amazing. I know many ppl who have had this surgery and all are doing very well and living a wonderful productive life..
I also know it can be scary, as the heart is such a special organ, but his heart is filled with love, and his dad is watching over him, both of these special things will certainly help in the upcoming days.
Many good wishes being sent your way.
Please keep us posted, if you can't access the blog, if you can contact one owl and let them know, then they can let us know.. Don't mean to be pushy in anyway, I am just concerned..

I spent the day @ my aunts with my godchild and her family, it was a fun 8th birthday, actually I thought it was her 7th, but its her 8th, time goes by so fast..
I had my parents with me, glad I did as it was a good day out for the both of them..
My dad just talks so much in the car, that I count the minutes till I get to my destination.. Yadda, Yadda, Yadda.. :O)

I am off to bed too. I worked outside in the yard today and moved furniture around my living room while Mr Mary was gone. I had to kill off all the dust bunnies under and around his "Archie Bunker chair". That is hard to do when he practically lives in it lol!
My sister is coming over tomorrow. She wants to borrow my Karaoke equipment for her class reunion. She want to use it the week I want to take a trip next month. I hope she can do it or I will have to stay and help.
