Well, Adam Lambert sure shook things up at the AMA show the other night! His overt display of sexuality made plenty of folks uncomfortable, although they had seen the same thing before, only done by female artists, such as Madonna. A few shows canceled his appearance because of it but Dave Letterman was not one of them. I was watching Letterman's show when Adam came on and sang this song. I love it and the words seem very appropriate as he finds himself in the middle of controversy. The kid sure has talent and he's even prettier than Tina!

SLIN - Now that's the Adam I know and love!!! I'm not a prude, but the AMA's were a bit offensive. It was just like he was trying too hard!!!
And did anyone else think that (if you would've just listened to his AMA performance with your eyes closed) that he kinda sounded like Liberace?!!? Seriously!!!

Congrats on first Jodi! Jodi, unfortunately I didn't think to close my eyes and listen so I can't even remember what the song sounded like. I was so shocked by the S&M and the sex act.
I really like Adam Lambert but I agree, the song is fitting because he didn't have the success to pull something like what he did at the AMAs without "turning off" some people to his music. It is a shame because he really is talented. The people that watched him on Idol know that but that was his first introduction to the public at large (not just Idol fans, although there are many). I am sure he will be successful no matter the controversy.
Well, I am going to go to Joanne Fabrics and by some stuff for my Mom because she is working today and she can't go get it.

I picture this huge glass conference room in L.A. with a large group of these people sitting around a table plotting what eatery or bar he will be seen at next and how he'll walk and talk...who he will be seen with and whether he will wear the black or the really black outfit...lol.....point is...he doesn't do anything spur of the moment....it was planned....you can buy this kind of publicity..
He is having the time of his life and I am happy for him....he is a huge talent. He can sing and he is gorgeous and has anyone noticed how tightly packed the front of his pants always are or is it just me? Again....a HUGE talent....^^
His performance on the AMA's sure had people sitting straight up in their conservative recliners...lol
The kiss was hot....there is just something really sexy to me when a beautiful man kisses another....but that head in the crotch grinding simulation of oral sex was a little too much for American TV.....don't get me wrong...it wasn't too much for me....heavens no....I've seen porn! I was just hoping he would get an erection and bust right through those little rubber pants.....when you put 10 pounds of mud in a 5 pound sack....it could happen.....

Bebbi I doubt there was anyone in the audiance that was shocked by his performance. It's all been done before and they are all in the biz, one way or another, and understand the theatrics and showmanship of it all. At least he wasn't biting heads off of bats, which was done decades ago.

DeeDee He's been on a number of shows and says he probably got a little carried away and claims that he didn't go that far during rehearsals (thus, getting the AMA's and network off the hook). He is definitely a showman, that's for sure, and I think he was playing it more for the music folks that were there in the audiance. He knows this will blow over. No pun intended. LOL
Oh, he also sings the song in the movie "2012" that is in theaters now. You can find that official vid on youtube, too.

Bear why didn't someone do a Mapquest to find directions? I thought he always performed at the same place every year for some reason.
JL I really don't know much about Adam, I don't watch AI and just don't have much interest in him. I saw the performance on the awards last week, I didn't care for it. I just not into that strange stuff. If he'd just sung the song then I probably would have liked it more.
I didn't care that he kissed another man, the crotch thing was a turn off plus I don't like all the make up, guyliner, etc.
I didn't like the performances by JLo, Backed Eyed Pea or Rihanna either for that matter.
I think I'm just stuck in the 70s, give me a good old fashioned Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks concert any day.
It's cold here, I know I shouldn't whine when some of you have snow and zero degrees, but 25-30 at night is C O L D.
MR. E got out our other down comforter last night and put it on the bed. He is the one who usually has on just the sheet, while I am hunkered down with as many blankets as I can get.

J/L: I wasn't much of an Adam fan on A/I but I think it is just because I don't like the type of music he sings. I liked him when they had him doing my kind of music. I see that the New Year's Eve Dick Clark special canceled him also and so did Jimmy Kimmel. But...he is one of Barbara Walter's top ten people this week and she talked about it on the View and he will stay on the show. I also saw him on Ellen and he was very apologetic. I think he is young and just made a mistake but I think it will soon be forgotten and he will continue to be able to show his singing talent.
We have about 4" of snow today and the roads are not good and it is cold out so we are inside in our sweats watching football, reading the paper and napping...well, my husband is grading in between all these things. I am getting ready to watch the finale of Amazing Race tonight.
BTW, tomorrow night there is a Carrie Underwood Christmas special on if anyone is interested.

I did like this song from Adam, I don't think its my type of music tho. I think he will go far actually farther than the winner of AI.. His appearance on AMA's was a little over the top for me. But is def got ppl taking, and that was probably what he was looking for..

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted lately. I have been exhausted from running around buying last minute stuff for my kitchen. Yesterday I spent all day shopping for back splash. I still can't decide. My counter top arrives on Wed. I think I will wait until it is up. Today my son & I shopped for 4 light fixtures,sink faucet,shelf liners etc. He is so helpful. He is saving me money by installing them.
I don't have running water or a sink in the kitchen, so we have been sending out for our food. My hubby has caught a cold and doing nothing but looking miserable!
Tomorrow I have an apptment. more shopping, and I have to sort & fill up my cupboards. My only fun time is working my Island and farms on FB LOL!
