Not Jealous and Not a Sexist

by Lynn D

I do want to warn anyone who is easily offended there is language and well if you have ever watched Bill Mahr he is not one for the religion. However he has some very good points and this is exactly how I feel about Sarah and Michele.

LynnD~ thanks for sending in the blog~ I really can't stand Bill Maher.......he's actually an example of what I think is wrong with the world~ I totally had to stop watching this video.....I can't stomach that man~

Good morning Chuugi!

LynnD...I assume you saw ALL of this show.....it was fantastic...

Bill is brilliant....he simply tells it like it is...

His point is always that everything is nothing but bullshit and lies and that these "god" fanatics who pick and choose what "works" for them from the bible...

"I will be submissive to my husband as long as it fits my agenda...but! I don't think we should use that "stoning" part of the bible....but we should offer our daughters virginity to protect ourselves....ok..that would be crazy....but submission is sooo today!!!

Bill is not what is wrong with the world but he does talk about one of the main things that is....people and all their silly gods around the world.....

all that bull just causes fighting and division among everyone...

Morning Glories,

Tina I told you to take your blood pressure meds.

No matter how one feels about Bill he has some very valid points.

Personally I am so sick of hearing and reading how anyone who disagrees with these women is jealous or sexist. Only someone insanely vain and thin skinned would make that statement over and over.

I would also like to know when the number one attribute to run for political office or president was attractiveness? That is constantly what I read the supporters of these people. They are so attractive. Not that I like their policy on..........

Bill and I diverge on one point. That is religion. While I agree with him that there are to many in our political arena who are fanatics and are pushing their own agenda for their own religious beliefs, I still believe in real religion that teaches the golden rule. To me that is what Jesus brought to us from God all the rest is contorted and twisted by man to fit any given agenda of the people in power at that time. imho

Yep MeeMee it is often very hard to hear the truth!

My favorite line was we don't disrespect them because they have breasts, it is because they are boobs!

Oh and my toe in that picture is covered in wet sand. I have all my original digits.

One more comment. I try to watch some the conservative shows in an attempt to understand the thought process. Right now it seems the people in power have no thought process just say no to everything to make the President look bad is pretty obvious and people are catching on. Oh and protect the rich.

What I have opened my eyes to is that there are conservatives who really are horrified by the above people and really care about this country and that liberal is not a dirty word and a subhuman to use as targets. They are people who care very much about their country and in the long run will help each other to find middle ground.

I know some of you are saying how naive.

Unknown said...

well thank goodness its wet sand! I thought you had a little head on your foot....

Lynn...you said it more nicely than I did....

People using their religious beliefs for their own devices....

Nothing wrong with God or faith in God or Allah or Buddha or Harry's Krishna.....as long as it isn't involved in government....

Its like the snake handlers religion trying to boss around the people who worship mice....there is going to be a problem...
First it will be culinary...then gastrointestinal....with one side blaming the other...and the next thing ya know we got kids praying in school!!
What the hell are ya gonna do!!??
.....GA!!

If Jesus could please turn my glass of water to wine right quick I need to relax and think about it....

now....those commenting hours.....what time zone are they?

And Bear~ We talked about you at lunch.....all good~ :D

Just_Lin said...

Tina Congrats on first and on being so good looking today. Although, I agree with much of what Bill says, I'm not crazy about him either. I have a feeling he's not too likeable in person.

Just_Lin said...

LynnD Thanks for the blog today. I happen to agree that they are boobs and that's my favorite line, too. On the other hand, I've heard Maher on talk shows and have thought for a long, long, time that he is pretty chauvanist in his personal life. He's smart and clever with words but I don't think I'd want to hang out with him and would never want to be in a personal relationship with him.

Bebbilane said...

J/L: That is the impression I get of him too.

Just_Lin said...

Michael It seems I missed the commenting hours. Crap! Just ignore what I'm typing here as I don't plan to do it over again. Muah!

Just_Lin said...

Bebbi I guess we are the rebels today, defying the commenting hours. LOL

Just_Lin said...

But I LOVE Rachel Maddow and would love to hang out with her. She's one really smart cookie.

Bebbilane said...

J/L: Still praying and thinking for you, your Mom and family.

Just_Lin said...

Tinka I could use some water therapy, myself, today.

Just_Lin said...

Thank you, Bebbi Her scan last week showed that the lung and liver tumors have grown significantly in a short amount of time. :(

Bebbilane said...

I am so sorry to hear that J/L. Hugs... :(

Picture it.....
I returned last night from dinner with a friend and was walking up the walkway to my house when I suddenly stubbed my toe as I got to the porch. I found myself propelled headfirst toward the living room window. I managed to get my right arm up to absorb most of the blow, although I did hit my forehead on the window sill. I immediately went down hard on both knees and it hurt SO BAD! OMG! OMG! OMG! I seriously thought I might have broken both kneecaps. In my agony, I did have the presence of mind to scan my surroundings and ascertain that no one saw this embarrassing maneuver. I was in bad pain and afraid my knees wouldn't work but I finally got up and exclaimed, "God, that felt like shit!". That's when a young neighbor couple came into view and looked at me curiously. We said "hi" like everything was "normal". LOL Anyway, I actually ended up shedding a couple of tears as the pain continued to be so bad. I have a sore spot on my forehead but no bump, a scraped forearm and gouge in my elbow and swollen knees. I just got off the phone with my daughter and we were in tears laughing so hard as I told her what I did. Isn't that what daughter's are for? To laugh at our misfortunes? LMAO!

Thank you, Bebbi.

Bebbilane said...

J/L: That sounds like something that would happen to me. And yes, daughters are great for that!! Gosh, I hope you are okay..thank goodness you didn't go through the window....! Do you think your neighbors thought you were on drugs or drunk?? LOL...too funny!

BE CAREFUL!

Bebbilane said...

That would be my first thought too, to look around to see who witnessed...lol. :)

Good Afternoon Everyone-

Just_Lin - I am so sorry your hurt yourself. I hope you feel better soon. I don't really think water therapy would have helped you today. I was so sore when I left the water I could hardly get dressed let alone walk to the car with my walker. I think the arobics was too hard for me today. I tried my best but couldn't keep up with her. I will try one more time and then will make a decision. There is a "milder" water therapy group.
I came home, had Slim Fast and went fast asleep for an hour. Right now I am having difficulty with typing.

Bebbilane said...

Hi Tink! Hang in there...!! xo

Tinka said...

Lynn - I will watch the video and post tomorrow. I don't feel I have the right to comment on American comments. Bill certainly has a way with words but I don't agree with his position on religion.

I say I want to hear from the gringo! She got a good head on her shoulders!!

All of you are outside the posting hours so what the heck...

J/L...I fail to see the humor in a fall and smack such as the one you described....I guess with my disabled friends falling so much it just scares me to death....

if I had been there I would have already dialed 911 before you hit your knees...

And you may find it hard to believe but I wasn't always so sweet.

Once when I worked for the Regis Corp. we were having a big event on a Saturday...which is a huge day for the mall and the salon...

Well this lady passed out right in front of our store. I heard her head crack when it hit that tile...her family or somebody that cared was with her...all gathered around her...trying to revive her...and saying mama...mama...mama....

It was also drawing a crowd. I also noticed that she had peed her pants....

Well business is business and we couldn't have this non-scheduled event blocking the entrance to our store....so I suggested to two girls that I assume were her daughters that they each grab a foot...and you know...drrrag mama and her teetee pants away from our lease line.

Well you would have thought I had slapped them both in the face! They didn't think they should move her! Well she hadn't moved in 10 minutes! I told em to drag mama over to the "MASH" Blood Drive and that maybe they could give her a transfusion or something....

I felt that I had gone out of my way to be helpful and offer suggestions...

Doesn't make a bit of difference when you summon Mall Security to scoot mama off your lease line....

Those girls said they would never set foot in our salon and I hollered back that if they ever did to leave mama at the house!!!

I couldn't go thru that again...

Just_Lin said...

Tinka Sorry your water therapy was difficult today. That water does give a lot of resistance, I know. If it isn't the right fit for you, maybe the other group is. Today I feel sore all over. I never would have made it through water therapy.

Just_Lin said...

Michael I don't believe a word of that story except the part about working for Regis Corps. I used to go to a high end salon that I really liked until it was taken over by Regis Corps. They did not have their act together. First my stylist left, then the one I started seeing, instead, left, and then I left.

Just_Lin said...

Apparently, a lot of the impact of my accident, impacted my left arm too, as my wrist hurts and my left shoulder is really, really, sore when I move my arm. I feel like I was hit by a car. Were Tina's kids driving yesterday? LOL

Tina~in_ut said...

lol J/L~ the kids are all home...so yes....they were driving yestiddy~ LOOK OUT!!!!~ I'm so sorry....but even tho I feel bad for you.....your story made me laugh~ :)~

Unknown said...

I didn't ask you anything J/L....ga! did your fall make a different personality take over....your comment seemed kinda hateful...not like you... But all salons at one time or another hit snags..especially when the ownership changes..hopefully it is straightened out fast....

But the Regis Corp...none the less...is the largest and most successful salon company in the world....the whole wide world...

You guys are all nuts!

I don't want date Bill Mahr and have never been attracted to him but I find his political commentary spot on.

J/L that sucks! I am so glad you did not go through the window. I know how much your knees must hurt having had two fall this year. I am amazed at how much a knee cap can take.

Meemee I am surprised you did not call mall security and have them declare a bio hazard! LOL

If any of you saw the exchange on CNN yesterday with Piers Morgan and Louise Mensch from parliament this might be of interest. She asked Rupert Murdoch and his son about Piers Morgan and the book he wrote where he talks about phone hacking. He went after her like crazy yesterday. Guess he did not think anyone would look in his book to verify her statement.

Morgan later used his show to press his point further. He also flashed the excerpt from his book in which he recounts how someone had warned him that his phones could be hacked.

"Apparently, if you don't change the standard security code that every phone comes with, then anyone can call your number and, if you don't answer, tap in the standard four-digit code to hear all your messages," he wrote. "I'll change mine just in case, but it makes me wonder how many public figures and celebrities are aware of this little trick.

One commentator on a British gossip website asked: "Why would he mention such a trick unless he was smugly hinting at what was taking place while he was an editor?" Another wondered if Mensch had "hit a nerve?"

Among the pair's Twitter messages, Morgan asked journalists to buy his book, saying it was a "good read."
Mensch Tweeted: "New American readers may wish to know the circumstances in which Morgan left the Mirror."

He was fired in 2004 after authorizing the publication of photographs allegedly showing British Army soldiers torturing Iraqis — but which were actually fakes.

I tell you the fall out from this is just beginning.

Just_Lin said...

LynnD Well, ga! Yes, we are all nuts. You knew that. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Tina My story makes me laugh, too. I'm sore all over and my knees are hot, and not in a good way.

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi.....Beautiful at first TINA.....Just wish you would change your avatar to your lovely picture.

J/L: I am like MICHAEL as I find no humor in falling. I am scared to death to fall again and my right hand fingers still hurt from my fall in Feb. I am so glad you are okay and didn't go through that window. Gosh....very scary!!!

LYNN: I do like to watch Bill on talk shows just because he can get such a rile out of the audience but I do not agree with some of his comments. I don't want to date him either.....Louis would get mad!!!!

TINK: Sorry your water exercises were hard. I agree with J/L and think maybe as easier class would be good for you. You should leave feeling good not in pain. I wouldn't want to go either

MICHAEL: You are sooooooo sweet being so concerned about that lady that fell down in the mall as well as your friends. Glad you seem sweeter now!

BEBBI: I love having a daughter to laugh with too but she better not laugh if I fall. I guess I have such a fear after the last time.

Hope all are doing well today. I will tell you it is darn hot hear this week and we have humidity. Colorado is not supposed to have humidity.

PS Looks like (hopefully) the football lock out will be over soon!!! Just in time for the season to start with hardly any practice!

Just_Lin said...

Dianne and Michael I don't find it funny when I see other people fall but I do find humor in my own mishaps as long as I didn't do any permanent damage.

Hi Guys!

LYNN: I've watched Bill Maher for years..I think the secret is to remember he's a comedian first and will say just about anything to shock the audience or get a laugh. I liked him back before the whole Clinton/Lewinsky thing..and I like him now. I don't always agree with him..but he makes me laugh..and he makes me think.

TINA: Hi Gorgeous..I agree with DI..time to change your pic to that guy you said was soooo hot the other day..what was his name...oh yes..HUGH GRANT! ;D

J/LIN: I am so sorry to hear that you got hurt! It always scares me when someone falls..especially if they hit as hard as you did. I cringed when I read that you bashed up your knees..probably because I know how badly that hurts. Please get some rest..and if it is hurting badly tomorrow don't hesitate to see the doctor and get checked out!!

TINKA: I wouldn't go back to the water therapy class you went to today..not if it is going to cause you so much discomfort..I'd try to go to the milder class. I hope you are feeling better tonight.♥

DI: GO RAIDERS! Just practicing.. :D

MICHAEL: I followed commenting hours tonight..but I have to admit it was an accident.. ;)

BEBBI: I just saw you have ol' blue eyes on your FB page..I'll be right over! :)

FROM 51:

BEAR: We really liked Harry Potter in 3-D..but a lot of people say it's just as good in the regular format..I was going to say 2-D..but I'm not sure that's right..lol..It's an excellent movie no matter how you see it!

I hope everyone is staying cool and having a good night! :)

whabbear said...

Yeah, I think 2-D works! Thanks, Zona!

I love love LOVE Bill Maher! (surprised, Tina?)!! And this separation of church and state thing is never far from my mind these days. The latest scary example of where I think the separation is eroding, and people are succeeding in using religion to turn this country into a fascist state using religion as the tool, is "The Response", that hideous Day of Prayer and Fasting in Houston on August 6th that is being spearheaded by Texas Governor (and possible Republican candidate for President) Rick Perry and the American Family Association. What is "The Response" in response to? You guessed it. America's moral decay. And what is the solution? A massive prayer fest for Jesus whose goal is to convince Jesus' Dad, God, that America is worth putting back in his good graces (because He's apparently taken the last train for the coast in response to things like, you know, legalizing gay marriage), in the hopes that He will then provide some kind of (completely unspecified) supernatural assistance that will help the country deal with its current crop of problems (the same crop that he has inflicted on the country as punishment for turning our back on Him, according to many leaders in the Religious Reich).

Because the Creator of a universe that is billions of light years in size and billions of years old is a very fickle entity who, like some dictator suffering from a bad case of arrested development, will only provide party favors to countries that prostrate themselves in front of Him and swear undying loyalty and fealty.

And you wonder why I like Bill Maher? LOL!

Just_Lin said...

Bear They are giving reigion a bad name, imho. Having a relationship with God does not mean exercising power over others, quite the opposite, actually.
