I didn't submit that video as a blog....I sent it to Tina to attempt to appease her and stop her from sending me all the disrespectful jokes about our President...

But in true republican form...that crap slinging and lying way that they have...it has been used against me.

Typical....

Slow painful death to republicans....LONG LIVE OBAMA!

on a kinder note...good morning!!

Obama gave a great speech last night on job creation...now if that idiot congress will not screw it up maybe we can finally get the ball rolling....

One thing I admire about Obama is that he has never stoops to his critics level and talks badly about anyone...he simply is better than that...a very uncommon trait for a politician....

Good Morning Class - I think we will now have a ten minute time out and then we will start the day over.
Let's all sing-
"Good Morning to You. Good Morning to You. We are all in our places with sun shiny faces. Now this is the way to start a new day"

Being a Canadian and not an American I will refrain from commenting on the previous posts. I do, however, wish them a Good Morning and send them love from across the border.

I am pretty well packed up for the weekend. Just a few things like making sure I have our "ER" DVD's and my "I Love Lucy" DVD's. We are on season 8 and I am on season 5. It's lots of fun.
We Canadians are content with the smallest of pleasures. Eh!

Jack is bringing me my breakfast on a tray so I must leave the nest. I will try and post when we get to our trout farm.
Have a great weekend all owls everywhere.

I heard there was an earthquake near Vancouver Island..is that where Tink is?

Shirley(NCC-1701) said...

Bebbi she lives in Victoria at the south end of the island. People reported buildings swaying, but no major damage reported yet or injuries.

Thanks Shirley! Glad to hear it..

Link to Vancouver Island quake....not a problem apparently...thank goodness....

It was off the coast way under water....Tinka probably didn't even feel it...

Although when the big earthquake happened in Mexico City in 1985 I felt that here in Bryan..it was a 7.8.....saw a wall hanging moving....very strange feeling to later hear about the quake....1000 miles away...

so Tinka may have felt it...I am anxious to hear!!

What's this about an earthquake? We got to the farm in time for my nap. I just woke up, turned on the blog and read about it. We didn't feel a thing but then we are high up in the mountains. I will look into it. Thanks Bebbi, Shirley and Michael for your concern.
Michael, thanks for the link. I will be back.

Tinka said...

Thanks Michael- from the link

"UCLUELET, British Columbia -- A magnitude-6.4 earthquake off Vancouver Island today caused no immediate reports of damage or tsunami concerns.

The quake occurred at a depth of 14.3 miles and was centered 73 miles west-northwest of Ucluelet (yoo-KLOO'-let), a fishing and resort village a little less than halfway up the island's west coast. It was initially reported as a magnitude-6.7 earthquake but later revised."

We didn't feel anything and I haven't got in touch with my kids. They must be out. I will let you know if I hear anything.

Tinka said...

Hi Bebbi - Thanks for checking in.

Tinka said...

Hi Shirley - Where did you hear building were swaying? I don't have a radio up here and there isn't anything on the TV unless it's on the weather channel. I guess it will be on the six o'clock news. I hate earthquakes.

Tinka said...

We are having our first heat wave of the summer. It may go to 85F. I love it. Wish it would last.

Michael - Jack said to tell you it doesn't matter how deep you plant the trout as long as you do it with their eyes up, same as potatoes. LOL

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has struck off the northwest coast of Vancouver Island, but there are no reports of injuries, damage or tsunami warnings.

Initial reports estimated the quake was as large as magnitude 6.8, but those estimates were later downgraded to 6.4.

People reported buildings swaying for several minutes from the Fraser Valley to Campbell River at about 12:41 p.m. PT.

Tinka I got this off the CBC news website. There is more now, but that is what was first reported.

Tinka said...

Thanks Shirley. We forgot to put on the 6:00 news so I still didn't know what time it happened until I saw your post. I just started to write to you when my daughter called. Apparently it was buildings in the Fraser Valley and in the middle of the island that shook. Victoria was not affected. It still is scary to me because I wonder if things are starting to happen with the faults under the earth. We don't get hurricanes or tornadoes but we have the worry of earthquakes. Every once in a while there is a lot of publicity about the "Big One" (up to 9) that could come at any time.

Hi Everyone.....I can't hear the video but I would imagine it is a good one if sent in by MICHAEL.

LYNN: How are you feeling? I sure hope better.

TINK: Have fun at the farm. That is funny how Jack said to "plant" the fish with their eyes up!! Wish I could come and have a fish dinner with you tonight. I am hungry and Louis brought his lunch home so he doesn't want to go and eat. I am a little mad about it as we always go out to eat on Friday and Saturday.

SHIRLEY: How are you doing? Haven't talked with you in awhile. It's almost time for gingerbread with the fall coming soon. Glad everyone is okay with the earthquake. This weather everywhere is crazy!!

TINA: Nice picture. How are you feeling this week?

Hi BEBBI: Are you still going to San Francisco next week?

Guess I will go to Sonic and grad something to eat. Talk to you all over the weekend.

Tinka...

No wonder my trout aren't growing!! I planted them head first!! I'll get it right next time!!

Its a relief that ur not all "shook up!" The news said that it was not an indicator of the "big one"...

Of course thats not to say the big one won't happen tonight...you never know...but its good that you are on a mountain and not in an area with lots of buildings....you don't want one of those falling on you!! Then again being covered up by a rock slide wouldn't be any fun either...

Are you near any volcanoes??

Unknown said...

Hi Dianne...Bebbi and Shirley...

Tinka said...

Hi Dianne - If you can find your way here I promise you will have a great trout dinner. Jack does it the best. Much better than the restaurants that change $35.00 for a trout dinner, trout that was raised here. I am not just prejudiced either. When can I expect you?

Tinka said...

Michael - Right, "Eyes Up".

Being at the farm would be the safest place to be if a big earthquake hit. We are up on the Sooke hills. There is no mountain to fall on us but I wouldn't like to think what the trees might do. If Jack and I were up here and our children and grandchildren were in the city I would go insane not knowing if they were okay. All phones would be out. Yikes, I am scaring myself.

Tinka said...

Michael - We do have a volcano that we can see from Victoria. It is Mt. Baker, the second most active volcano next to Mt. St. Helen's. It is in Washington State but if it erupted we would get the ash. We even got the ash when Mt. St. Helen's erupted and Mt. Baker is almost on our doorstep. I am going to stop or I won't sleep tonight. I am going to play on my farms and then watch "I Love Lucy" until around midnight. Jack is already asleep but if I go to sleep too early I am awake in the middle of the night.

Good Night and Sweet Dreams to all little owls everywhere.

Hi, HOoters. Sorry I haven't popped in in a few days. I guess I've just been letting my mind vegetate for a while. I am very tired, emotionally and physically. I hope you are all well.

Tina Who let Michael into your hospital room?
