morning ladies.... Tina...

Shirley...we are having several corn delights...cornbread...corn on the cob...Mexican corn...corn stuffing...corn pie...you name it!

We will even have some corn-holing in our reenactment of the first Thanksgiving...

And just a reminder...corn products are 2% off today all day long!!

Tina!

The crust on your sweet yummy pie is so huge...I love the way you pull back the crust to reveal the actual pie...

Some people prefer a smaller crust just showing around the edges of the pie...

but I think the huge crust folded over the pie keeps the flies off the actual pie....

Happy Thanksgiving!!

TINA: Sweet turkey and pie dreams!

SHIRLEY: We're having turkey, two kinds of dressing, corn, squash instead of sweet potatoes, crescent rolls, apple crisp and pumpkin pie..hmmm..seems something is missing..I hope I remember what it is before we actually sit down for dinner!

MICHAEL: Two 12oz bags of corn..please just send me a bill.. ;D

MICHAEL: I'm not going to touch your post to TINA with a ten foot pole..ijs.. ;D

Your blog yesterday was so cool..I could never afford one of those..but even if I could I don't think I'd get one..I would never figure out how to use it..and the dust..yikes! Plus..Nikki would jump on it..Randy would spill a Coke on it..you get the idea..but it is very very cool!!

Happy Thanksgiving Owls.

Sweet dreams Tina.

Shirley, you are most welcome to join us. There will only be three of us this year so I am only cooking a turkey breast, my delicious sausage stuffing, (which won't be stuffed this year), mashed potatoes & gravy, asparagus, crescent rolls and pumpkin pie. Oh, and there will be cranberry sauce, too. My sis isn't too happy that I'm not having sweet potatoes and other stuff we usually have, but we really don't NEED all that food or leftovers.

Michael, I don't know why, but we never have corn on Thanksgiving.

Zona, Apple crisp would go really good with our meal, too, but I don't know how to make it.

Tina~in_ut said...

Well....the potatoes and green beans are one....hubby says the rolls are almost ready.....and I guess he and the girl took care of everything else~ Boy oh Boy....those two boys are in for a surprise....they're on dishes today!!!! lmbo~

Happy Thanksgiving, Owls!

Just_Lin said...

Tina Are you out of bed or back into bed?

Just_Lin said...

Shirley You are welcome to come by for leftovers. I cooked our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday because the grandkids were here but spending today with their mom. So it was just the two of them and my son here with me. We had turkey with CORNbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, black and green olives, green beans with almonds, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Oh, and apple-grape sparkling cideer which the grandkids call "champipple". : ) There's not much pie left so you better hurry.

Just_Lin said...

Um, that would be cider not cideer. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Zona I hope you remember what it is that you forgot. There have been holidays in the past where later that night I'll remember that I forgot to make something. This year I purposely didn't do rolls because mostly my family would rather fill up on the other stuff.

Zona said...

BARB: The recipe is on JODI's FB page under 'Notes'..it's sooo good.. :)

TINA: I hope the potatoes and beans will be very happy together.. ;D

LYNN: xoxoxox right back atcha!! :)

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb Next year your sister can make the sweet potatoes. I love sweet potatoes but my son and grandkids don't so I didn't do those this year.

Zona said...

J/LIN: I haven't remembered yet..I didn't include gravy on the list..and I have to make that..but I don't think that's what it was..oh bother..

LOL@ 'champipple' :D

Just_Lin said...

Zona I also noticed that Tina's potatoes and beans seem to be married. LOL

Just_Lin said...

LynnD Well you get to be extra thankful for your daughter doing all the cooking. Now, I hope you have someone else doing the clean up, too.

Just_Lin said...

Michael Did you notice that I made CORNbread stuffing? If we were to try and eat more like the pilgrims did, I think corn would be a better choice than green beans. However, to me, the green makes the plate of food more visually appealing,.

lmao!!

J/L...matter of fact when I read ur comment about ur dressing I noticed corn in all caps...excellent...

And I agree that since a plate of food on thanksgiving is pretty neutral...the yamettes and green beans and the cranberries are a must...

There was an elderly uncle...or something like that...at my friends house. He was coughing up quite a bit of phlegm...most of the time he'd hock it up...do the loop the loop and back down it would go but
a couple of times I saw him hock one up that flew thru the air...

I asked him if he wanted a cracker with that....he didn't..

I lost my appetite..

Tina~in_ut said...

ON.....not one~

And Michael~ I'm pretty sure we didn't need to know that~ But I bet it was incredibly appetizing for you~ :)~

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope u all had a great day. We had a nice time at my daughters for dinner. I am very full

My daughter and granddaughters r going shopping at 10pm tonight for an early black Friday trip. I just have to make my list--easy shopping. I just watch football as they get ready to shop. JL--I'm cheering for ur team tonight!!

Just_Lin said...

Tina Even with reading past your typo, I was getting it wrong. I thought you meant they were done.

Just_Lin said...

Michael Oh, my. I didn't need to hear that story, either. I don't mind my own phlegm but can't deal with others' at all. Gag!

Just_Lin said...

Dianne You couldn't pay me enough to go out with all the crowds pushing their way through the stores. Thanks for rooting for our Niners tonight. I hope they can continue their winning streak.

I thought I would share this email I just sent Tina in response to "how was ur dinner"...

omg...it was a typical thanksgiving meal......ga! Everyone over eats then tries to force you to eat again before you leave!!

Jans daughter added a pork loin...gag......and she had the dead bird. I swear I will be vegetarian by this time next year

Jan and her daughter had a run-in. They fight all the time. Jan tries to tell her how to raise her husband and children....

Jans eldest girl...Lisa... told her husband Johnny to say grace and I looked at him and raised my eyebrow...he said he couldn't say it because I was staring at him.....Lisa told me to stop staring at Johnny like he is stupid. Johnny said..."he didn't stare at me like I am stupid"....and I said "thats true".... so Johnny thought that Lisa was calling him stupid in front of company and it was on.....then smoke started coming out of her cooking machine and the rolls that were in there were on fire......

Jans husband has "restless leg syndrome" and his leg started jerking at the table and uncle jose was hocking lugees all over the place. Bill had to lie down with the leg thing. I tell you...if u have never seen anyone with RLS trying to walk during a spell of it you haven't lived.....

I laughed all the way home.....so I guess it was worth the gas it took to go......

ahhh...good times...

whabbear said...

What is all this obsession with Thanksgiving "pie"? I thought this was a family page!

Just_Lin said...

Michael Sounds like you had quite a day. Are you sure there isn't something more than RLS going on there?

Just_Lin said...

Bear I have no idea what you're talking about but I hope you and Huz had a very nice Thanksgiving. Been missing you around here.

Just_Lin said...

Michael If there wasn't all that delay in saying grace, God wouldn't have set the rolls on fire. ;)

Unknown said...

ha ha haha....

no J/L...Bill has RLS....he kicks the fire out of Jan at night. She wakes up getting kicked...hard and fast....lol

I keep telling her to get twins beds but shes still hopeful Bill will get the "urge" again someday...and she wants to be right there...lol

Johnny delayed grace...his wife called on him to say it because that kind of stuff is embarrassing to him...especially with me sitting there looking at him...

shes mean to him...
