This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

Either way is fine~~
something is weighing on my mind
i have tired to pin point the exact poundage
however it alludes me, so for now until
i find the words:
when we created this night owl blog
it was for all, to compose, enjoy, and most
of all chat, friendships have been made
laughter has been found, yellow is present
it is fun for me, kinda like "what is everyone
up to" when i find one blogger happy it is
a feel good thing, we do a happy dance
and praise the happiness
when a blogger is going thru a difficult
time, we stand by them, give them comfort
and tell them under no uncertain terms that we
are here for them
i want to see the happiness, and i want to see
the turmoil, it is what i call "life"
so bad or good its ok, put it out there
let us cheer you on or let us comfort you
i really don't think one blogger can bring
this blog down, as the next blogger will
bring it up, its a balancing act, just like "life"
we need to realize what we have created here
it is something so unique that i don't think
it can be explained, i do know that whoever
is reading this knows, you feel it, you see it
good, bad, indifferent, fat, skinny
whatever! who the heck cares!
its just "life"
:O)

ok....accomplished....
now i will read what is weighing on carols mind.....
carol.....did i miss something? has someone not been welcomed here?
i have to say i love this place. i have found it to be drama free. i have found it to be welcoming. i wish some of my other online friends would come here and post because i miss them terribly. i dont understand why they feel that they would be traitors or something by posting. many people go to many blogs. why not come here too? i have chosen, on my own because i wear big girl panites, to come here daily. i love it here.
i hope everyone else who comes here loves it as much as i do.
Congrats on QOTD MEK! So glad you didn't burn the cheesy sammies!
ok...now i just look pathetic....4...no 5 now...in a row.....
i will be back later....
SIX
LOL - Barb in WA - congrats on TOP FIVE!!!!!!!!
You crack me up---
okay -off to read - BRB!!
I am here Barbara. I would have been here sooner but I checked my messages. Congrats on being first through fifth. I think that is a FIRST in itself. Good Morning my dear and Good Morning to all who arrive later. I will be back as soon as I feed my 'babies'.
Love, Tinka
Good Morning Mek. I am glad you joined Barbara because I have to TCB.
Morning Glories!
BarbWA congrats on 1st thru 5 !!!! LOL
Carol: Funny how your blog hit home with me this morning.
I am so glad you have set this site up for us.
I told one of our fellow owls a week or two ago! Hi Whabby! This is like my secret garden. I stop in each day to feel renewed and connected to so many wonderful people.
I step into my computer room and it is like the outside world slips away for a little bit. I pop in and catch up with my friends here and read about what everyone one is doing or going through and feel comforted.
Some would say and have in my daily life "are you crazy?" That's ok they don't have to get it because I do!
So thank you to all of owls! For the silly, fun, goofy, serious, hand holding, discussions good and bad all wonderful moments to me!
LOL Good morning Tinka and MEK who were posting while I was typing away!
Good morning!
Barb, way to go! 1 through 5!
Hi MEK, Tink, Lynn & Carol.
I am very grateful for this blog, you are all like my group of friends who I catch up with each day.
The nice thing is that I have actually met some of you!
I love that there is no bashing, no drama. Everyone is welcome and everyone's opinion is valued, even though we may not all agree or share the same opinion.
If you need comfort or support, you have a wonderful bunch here to lend their ears.
I am very thankful that Carol opened this place up to all of us!
I will check back in later, after work. Have a fabulous day!
Good morning to all,
Congratulations to you Barb on 1st thru 5th...you are so funny.
Good to see you on this beautiful Spring day, Mek, with the hairs lookin pretty.
Good morning to you, Lynn. I just love it when you say 'Mornin' Glories.
Wishing Tinka a beautiful day, now go get your orange juice. lol
Carol, I love what you have created for all of us, and it's such a diversion from a sometimes tough world out there. I think the 'cream of the crop' make themselves at home her. Lynn expressed my feelings so well. As you know, I live alone and The Nest is like having a few friends over for coffee. As we have discussed, I have never opened myself up on the Internet, and you suggested 'Baby Steps', and so I'm trying very hard.
Many day I don't hear the sound of another voice, unless I come here for a smile or two. I don't keep my television on 24/7, just mostly at night.
So, to all the Owls that make this wonderful place their second home I say, Thank you for allowing me to visit with you. And thank you Carol, for opening the door with welcoming arms.
((hugs)) to all.
Ronnie
Happy Tuesday!!
Good Morning - Barb for TOP Five.. and putting on your "big girl panties"
Tinka - enjoy your "babies".
Lynn D - your "secret garden" - I like that..
EBJ - you are AMAZING!! :-)
Cpgem - another great blog..
I also enjoy coming to this place everyday!!
AND - for clarification - my mother ALWAYS burned our grilled cheese sandwiches - we just thought that was how they were supposed to be - SO, it is a joke in our family - when ever we make grilled cheese - the first question is: Did you burn them?
So I had my own little chuckle when I wrote that I had NOT burned them!!!
Gotta get ready - Bailey has a grooming appt today - have to get her all pretty for our company!!
:-)
Good morning EBJ..good to see you.
What is that yellow banner across the top that says "your comment has been saved" mean...For WHO?
Is it just a Mini FOAD?
Good Morning, Ronnie..
((((HUGS))))
Morning Mek!
Have you ever put sliced tomatoes on your grilled cheese sammies?
Really good, and by the way, I like mine "toasty" too.
Ronnie - NO, I have never put tomato on them - sometimes we put ham or turkey in them!!
EBJ - I agree with you - it's exciting that several us have actually MET!!! I always enjoy a good blog buddy meeting. I love hearing about them!!
Whabby - from last night - OH MY - Jimmie the bartender - he was SO yummy!! and that is great that you get TWO shots now!1 (maybe) - but, Ghost Whisper WAS really good Friday nite - can't wait to see what is in store!!
okay - this place is really addicting.. I need to get ready -
Be back later..
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!!
Bye Mek!
First your hair, and now Bailey's. I guess you've made an appointment for Mr. Mek too. You all are just going to be looking very 'spiffy'
TWENTY!!!
21...lol
Ronnie - LOL - THAT is funny!!
Well, I don't 'march' too well, so I thought I'd get it in here.
Nobody get's hurt that way.
Morning All
Hmmmm...What this blog means to me?? I have ranted and moaned on here...gotten embarrassed about it and hid for a while. I could not give it up tho, no matter how much of an ass I felt like. I really identify with what Ronnie said the most, it IS like having friends over for coffee.
Waving at EBJ and Ronnie! Always glad when you enter the nest or my secret garden and share!!!
I will pop back in a bit. I have some things to get done and then I have the food run today.
Scrishy: We have all moaned and bitched and showed our ass! Feel the love coming your way!
PS the only way I want to show my ass to anyone is in a post! (No pictures please!) :)
Good Morning Lynn, EBJ and Ronnie. My 'babies' are fed and are chewing on their 'oral hygiene chews for dogs'. It is our morning ritual. It keeps them well occupied while I am on the computer. Yes Ronnie I have my orange juice. You know me well.
I love this blog. For years the first thing I did in the morning was feed my 'babies' get my orange juice and phone my sister. We would talk for an hour. When I lost her, there was a big hole in the morning that couldn't be filled with watching T.V. Now as soon as I get up I check the blog (sometimes I even luck out and I am first to do that), feed my little ones, get my juice and spend the next hour talking to my friends in the nest. It is so nice that the blog is connected to myspace because we can say things privately and on the blog. I have made some friends I am sure I will have for life. My dream is to meet as many as possible in person.
It is the only blog in my life and that is my choice. Others like to visit many blogs and that is fine too. We all seem to have favourite times of the day to settle in and that keeps the nest warm all day and all night. I love the way we have stayed 'drama free' and 'troll free' and I pray it stays that way forever.
Carol - Thank you for today's blog and doing so much for us.
Barbara - I think there should be a special ribbon for the only time someone has come in first through fifth.
Mek- Why don't you post a picture of Bailey when she is all 'dolled up' for company? I would love to see it.
Lynn - You are so right. This is our own little secret world. Some of my friends and family do not understand it but I don't care. It is my world not theirs.
East Bay J - I agree. It is amazing how we can talk about any subject here and we do it with such respect for one another. I think that is unique to our blog only.
Ronnie - I wish you lived next door. We would have that cup of coffee (or in my case, tea). In a way it seems like we do because being on the blog fills that need for company. When one's life is so full with family all around 24/7 it is hard to imagine that the day would come when you would be living all alone. You and I and also others on this blog know what it's like now. So let me thank Carol again for providing this little home for us.
Good Morning Scirish - I think we have all said things that embarrassed us and then hid for a while. That is all part of the fun.
I am off to answer messages. I will be back to see what is being served up for lunch. I so admire those who do that.
Love you, Carol! Morning, Barbara and MEK and Lynn D and Tink and East Bay and Scirish and Ronniegirl!
Wow, Carol. I've so many thoughts, but have to get to work. So here's a Reader's Digest condensed version:
Barb: There is a lot of cream in here! The people who live here in the nest were some of the most energetic Rossbloggers, and by the time the nest was created, I considered some of them friends.
I know this. I sure LIKED all of them (all of you) at that point in time, and there was no way I was not going to continue to interact with you over here. This is just a fantastic and fun place!
Should we share life in here, as opposed to just a nonstop parade of positivity? Of course! I may even throw in a little controversy from time to time! :)
Sorry... that was rather hurried and not well thought out. Have a great day, everybody!
Morning ALL...
Carol... I have said many times.. I LOVE THIS PLACE...
I have never been on another blog...I tried Big Brother Chat With the live feed last year.... I always type to slow and by the time I post the subject is old..and I look stupid...and .. They weren't very welcoming to "strangers"...
You all take me as I am, late on the subject or not!!!
I love that we are spread all over 2 countries.. and seemingly different backgrounds...
But we are family in here...
I love to catch up on the day..
To see what everyone is UP to or what is going on... You gave me such comfort when i needed it the most... I hope I can return some of that.. I try... i like that there is NO drama.. I live in a small town.. enough real life drama...
THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE!!!!
Congrtas BARB_WA... On 1-5... OH MY!!!
morning to MEK
Sweet Tinka--
LynnD--
EBJ--
Ronnie--
SCIRISH--Hope you are feeling better...
{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}
To Everyone!!!!
Morning WHABBEAR... You snuck in while I was Typing... slow as usual..
Good Morning Owls!
Cpgem: I joined my first online discussion forum 8 years ago this month and have participated in several since then. The nest is the first time I've seen a forum not have the drama that typically happens. This truly is a fun, friendly, caring, supportive place! The support I received on Saturday after Louie's injury meant more to me than I could ever explain in words. Thanks to you for creating our wonderful nest, and thanks to all the Owls for making it a place I look forward to coming to each day!
Waving Hi to: Barbara, MEK, Tinka, Lynn, EBJ, Ronniegirl, Whabby, Ibebold, and all the Owls who will fly in later today!
Happy American Idol Tuesday!
Oops...
Waving Hi to Scirish too!
Good morning everyone! Barb, congrats on 1st, 2nd, 3rd..... LOL
I love this blog. It is a place I never feel that I have to be guarded and care share my feelings. I also feel free to come and go as I please. No guilt if not posting, and I can join in anytime I wish during the day or night.
I appreciate Carol for creating the space and keeping it going.
I appreciate all my friends here. I have fun laughing with you and at you, as well as myself. I also like to feel that when I send a hug or warm wishes that you really do feel it.
Have a good day hooters- you all make me smile :)
MEK- try the grilled cheese with bacon sometime. A heart attack waiting to happen, but sooooo good!
CAN share my felings.....
see? I can look like an idiot here and no one cares!
I even did that wrong! Feelings...
How embarrassing! I was a total Blog Whore this morning! I seriously could have kept going since MEK didn't drop by until 10 minutes after I left. But I think I would have seriously pissed ya'll off if I had marched to 1-50 by myself!
Ronnie - I was "laughing" at Mr. MEK getting a haircut also - not your march!! But congrats on 21 - you should buy a lotto ticket now.
Barb - lol at blog hog - I would have laughed my ass off if you had marched to 50 that early in the a.m.!! You GO girl..
Tinka - I took before pictures and I'll take an after on also!!
AND - I am feeling a bit uneasy right now...
My Bailey has always LOVED to go to the vet (I know - strange) and the groomer - she can't WAIT to get out of the car and RUN to the door...........BUT - today was totally different - when we pulled into the parking lot - she started whinning and shivering and would NOT get out of the car - she actually coward into the far back of the car - it made me wonder - WTF happened to her the last time she was there...... She is a highly intelligent dog and after five minutes - I MADE her get out - took all my strength to get her out of the car - I had to pull her to the door - and when we got inside - she laid down - spread eagle with her legs all out - and they had to drag her back - I asked if something had happened the last time that she was there since it was SO unlike her and I got a "sorry your dog isn't "normal" today" - they didn't answer my question - and now - I feel as though I should not have left her - we have been going to this same place for 3 1/2 years and this has NEVER happened.
Amicus - what do you think???
FORTY
Scirish - not to worry - your ass looks fine!!
:-)
Lynn - yours also!!
Goldie - my soul sista!! gotta love a good heart attack meal!! I will try that - sounds yummy!! AND, lol at messing up your own "grammar police"!!
Whabby - Reader's Digest version - I love you too!!
IBB - I told you, you would enjoy this place!!
I, too, am extremely grateful for this place!!
Tonight - we have Idol AND the finale of Biggest Loser!! there will be alot of going back and forth!!
Hey..MEK...
My poor Bailey.. I hope nothing happened to her...
Not very busy today... Everyone At the post office... Our mail gets picked up at noon.. so nothing gets postmarked after that...
Sooo we shouldn't be busy this afternoon... Besides the fact it is a beautiful SPRING day...
IBB - we hit 95 yesterday and today is supposed to be 94 degrees - AND tomorrow - we are getting a "cold" spell - LOL - it will drop to 83!! we might have to break out the winter jackets (that was tongue in cheek!!)..
I know - I am SOOOO worried about her - I should not have left her..
Carol great blog as always.
Amicus so glad that you seem more up beat.
Skirish, I hope you are feeling better.
DonnaJean and Notmercy sending postive thoughts out your way.
Renee waving hello in case I miss you.
I enjoy this blog. I enjoy that this blog is about everyone and doesn't just focus on one main person. I don't mind where other people blog at all. A thought like that just would never enter my mind.
I do miss Jax swooping in and eating Birdie. That to me was so hilarious.
Okay, back to work like Wabbear. My lunch break is over in 3 minutes.
MEK I hate to do this to you, but I don't like the way Bailey was acting. I'm saying this from the point of view that I once worked for a vet that I and others filed charges against for losing his temper with the animals. Most of his clients thought we were liars as he seemed like such a mild mannered guy.
I'll be back to post on TOTD.
MEK....
Poor Bailey. Does make you wonder though. And to me it sounds like they were not very caring of whatever Bailey was going through.
Mek - Bailey was definitely trying to tell you something. I would go back early and wait for her to be done. I would also question the groomer again and see if you can get any clues. Some dogs are nervous about going to the groomer but if this is really out of character for her I would be worried too. I used to have poodles and they would start shaking as soon as I started down the groomer's street. I thought poodles were just nervous and accepted it. I found out later that he was charged because he was caught slapping the dogs when he became annoyed. Some groomers are wonderful like our dear Amicus but we have had a couple of incidents happen here that really scare me.
Just Lin - I am feeling the same way - she has NEVER responded like this EVER - this groomer is one of the MOST respected in our little town - I'm wondering if she has a new employee that was NOT nice last time -
I'm just SICK!!!!!!!!!! crap!!!
49
FIFTY!!!!
51 lol
MEK...
Oh honey. You really had no reason to think that anything was different until you saw Bailey's reaction. From what you have said of her, I do think she was telling you something. Find out if they have a new groomer. Find out who worked on Bailey the last time you were there.
Ibebold - I so identify with your comment about chat rooms. I don't know how people do it. I tried it once. Someone wrote "Tinkatia is in the room". Then comments scrolled faster than I could even read them. I have a built in camera with my computer but when I take a picture of myself with the Photo booth I think I would die if anyone saw me like that. It doesn't take a very flattering picture.
There must be something I am missing with this 'chat room' fun. I just don't get it.
Hey MEK- just my thought- I agree, go early and see what is up with Bailey. Just like children at daycare, and unannounced visit might be the trick to ease your mind.
55 - I just wanted to try that. I am never here at night.
Mek, i agree, Bailey was trying to tell you something. Tink said to go back early and talk to them, I'm sure I would.
Amicus - You must be working hard right now or you would have stepped in and given us a professional opinion of Bailey's behaviour. I will check back later to see what you had to say.
Congrats on 55 Tink!!!
MEK- Another thing,(sorry, you didn't really ask my opinion) BUT- even if Bailey IS just having a bad day and there is nothing to her actions- the fact that they dismissed your concern and questions is what really bothers me. IMHO you are Bailey's voice, so demand some answers from them, and then let them know you are unsatisfied with how you were treated. They need you more then you need them.
Sorry if I over stepped my bounds here, but go get um' girl!
CAROL - Great blog!!! THANK YOU for all you do for us keeping our nest up and running!!! This truly has become my yellow/happy place for the day. And I have the added bonus of making some incredible friends along the way. I couldn't imagine some of you NOT being in my life now!!! And meeting blog buddies is the best - GOLDIE is a classy broad (he he) and I am proud to call her my friend!!! (Even though she likes to take my picture sideways - and then people accuse me of being drunk!!!) I'm looking forward to this summer - it promises to be fun and I'm planning on meeting even more of you in person. I CAN'T WAIT!!! This is the only blog that I visit everyday. I like that we have fun, but are also there for each other through thick and thin!!!
BARB/WA - lol @ 1-5!!!
MEK - I concur with GOLDIE - nothing like bacon on a grilled cheese!!! Oh, and please follow your heart and go pick Bailey up early from her appt. Please let us know what's going on.
TINKA - ((((HUGS)))) to you my dear friend!!!
ZONA - You still need that hammer?
TINA - Glad you got back from CA in one piece. What a day - you must be exhausted!!!
TURTLE - Are you at work yet? I hope you don't have another long day today!!!
It's a beautiful spring day here - a bit blustery (as Pooh would say), but I'll take it!!!

left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
cpgem8 I had never been involved with a blog until I started watching the talkies on the other blog. They made me laugh and I so needed that. In fact, I think I was desperate for it. I was still sobbing so much over the loss of my husband, that I sometimes thought I was drowning in grief. I kept it together as best I could and I wanted my family to think I was getting along a little better than I really was.
Anyway, I slowly started posting comments and I started interacting with really nice people. When the tedious drama happened, I of course followed the core group over to this blog. This group of lovely owls has helped me more than you will ever know. This blog kept me sane and brought light into my world. It helped me go through one of the most difficult times in my life.
I agree with LynnD that this is like a secret garden. And it's a wonderful, colorful, diverse garden.
Because he is up earlier where he is, the first thing I do in the a.m. is check for my morning email from Custard. Next, I check on this wonderful group of owls. I no longer have time or need for the other blog. I love that this blog is about ALL of us and not about idolizing and fawning over one person.
Carol Thank you again for building this nest for us to land in.
Where's TURTLE?!!?
left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
69!!!!!
Yessssss!!!!! Now I can go for my walk!!! Now that I'm all warmed up from the march. :P
Hey JUST LIN - You posted while I was a marching fool!!! I'm so glad to have met you. I must say you really have blossomed here with us. And I feel honored to have witnessed your relationship with Custard grow into something really beautiful. I hope you are having a great day lady!!!
FROM AREA 51: BON - lol @ being more interesting than a 1040!!! I got my taxes done yesterday, too!! What a relief - I don't know why I put it off so long. I hope you made it to the ocean this weekend!!

just_lin.....
You don't fawn over me????

Thank you just-lin and jodi.
LOL Jodie, it was 'good' for me and at least I didn't lose my virginity in the backseat of somebodies Chevy. You are too funny!
OH you guys - this is what I LOVE about you all!!
I didn't mean to "hi-jack" the blog today - but I appreciate all your concern - I have had the exact same thoughts as ALL of you..
and, trust me, I will be expressing my concerns when I pick up my baby!!!!! I have been trying SO hard to keep myself VERY busy this a.m., I have cleaned a bathroom, wiped down the whole kitchen and have done laundry!!
I agree with Just Lin - I only make time for one blog now - I enjoy that it's about everyone - and I enjoy that when one of us needs the others - you guys come out in full force!!
(((((HUGS)))))
Passing a tissue to BARB/WA!!! You're cracking me up today. :P
Ronnie - I am SO glad that you now understand the FUN of marching!!
what I also love about this place is that we HAVE FUN!!!!!!
nothing 'tedious' about it - JUST FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
MEK - ((((HUGS)))) back atcha!!! You know we luv you in Wisconsin!!! Or as TINA says now.....WESconsin!! LOL!! Although I prefer her dead on Valley Girl accent. :P
tedious!!!!

anyone gonna march?!!?
HOMEK!!!!
tedious!!!!
LEFT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT!!!

Was it good for you, Jodi? LOL
That kind of "stuff" never gets old.....(curtains blowing in the window)
RONNIE - You sly dog you!!! Sliding in on 100!!! Congrats. :P
SHOOT, I'll never go back to the Chevy again..LOL
100, way to go, I think I'll take up smoking a cigarrette!
LOL - WOW, I went to check email thinking a march would be up soon and ya'll (for Joey) left without me!!!
I didn't hear anyone yell,
READY, SET, GO!!!!!!
Good job, Ronnie - you are breaking all kinds of records today!!!
Mek,
What time do you pick-up Bailey? I've got a couple of things I need to do, but want to hear about it when you get back.
We all do.
MEK - If you look at 2:48 - I did holler for you!!! LOL!!
I'm tired from all that marching!!! Gonna go take my cat nap.
MEK - I'll be checking in later. We expect a full report on Bailey. :)
Yes - Hodi - i did see you yell out for me!! thanks!!
Ronnie and everyone - I pick her up at 1pm, and I will let you all know what happens..
I have literally made myself SICK over this!!!!!! I am feeling like a really bad "mommy"!!
Barbwa Check your myspace. :)
MEK Maybe it was just an accident, like cutting a nail too close to the quick. If you can be with Bailey while she's around the employees you might see who she avoids.
I'm here to amuse jodi!
J/L....
Check your own myspace!!!!!
LOL!
There sure is a lot of tediousness going on here today. And none of it is from me. All of my posts have been extremely important!
;-)
WOO HOO!!!!
I was 111!!!!
5 in a row again!!!!
I ROCK!
114! I am so special!
115 tedious and special!
tedious, tedious, tedious, now where does that get me in the March count??????? LOL
I wuv you too Jodi. Can't imagine not having you and your potato salad in my life!!! I have made the best of friends on this blog (the only one I frequent anymore).
You want to know the best part? No tells me "say thank you to (insert name) everyone". I am a big girl now and I can say thank you when and if i want to all by myself! Really, I can make decisions and everything.. like NOT saying thank you and not shoving my head up someones ass to inflate their ego!
Boy, I sound cranky don't I? I'm not. :)
Brownies in the cyber oven and I'm thinking that maybe Shirley can put out some of that homemade ice cream too!
Goldie I'm so glad your head is out in the fresh air! LOL
Everyone say "THANK YOU!" to Goldie!!!!!
Bwaaaaa haaaaa haaaaa!!!!
I had to do it!
OH - Goldie - you just brought a smile to my face and you don't know how badly I needed that!!
so not to hi-jack anymore blog space today - i am SOOOOOO pissed and livid I could spit nails!!! Bailey is home!! They could have cared less about my concerns and that is all I will say!!!
SO - Goldie - thank you for that laugh!! I feel the exact same way that you do!!!
Okay - I need to go "get busy" so that I can calm down!!!!!!
AAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH
breathe in, breathe out!!!
120
Brownies???? Can we add strawberries to the ice cream????
OMG -
Barbara - OHHHHHHHH how I needed that also!!!
THANK YOU, GOLDIE!!!
THANK YOU, BARBARA!!!
THANK YOU - EVERYONE!!!
Good afternoon you lovely owls!
MEK: I agree with everyone else here! Grill those groomers! Worried about poor Bailey!
Goldie: I can see clearly now my head is free! I can see all that there is to see! Lalalala! LMAO
Thank you all for making me laugh!
Barbara is on a brownie kick this week!! Do you want chocolate syrup on that also??!!
MEK: It sounds like it is time to find a new groomer to me! If they don't care about Bailey then they don't care about losing money! Say Bye Bye! Talk to your vet and see who he recommends! Give Bailey a (((Big))) hug from me!
thank you gals, it is nice to have fresh air now..
And yes please to the strawberries and choc syrup and whipped cream- how about some chopped nuts too! For some reason I always have the munchies when I eat brownies.....
MEK- screw them. Give Bailey a hug and her is one for you too (((HUG)))
Lynn - trust me - this is the LAST time she will be going there!!!
AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
Okay - I am calming down (NOT) - can't wait to tell Mr. MEK about what happened today!! He is a very calm person - but I'm sure this will have his blood boiling!!
Okay - I'm done!!
pass those brownies with extra vanilla icecream, cool whip and chocolate syrup!!
:-)
Well my friend and I did the food run for the foodbank! I think we may get fired from this volunteer job as we are freaking dangerous!!
Last week when we picked up I was pushing a cart loaded with food and my damn purse swung loose from me and broke an orchid pot in their floral dept. Arggg I offered to pay for it but they said don't worry.
This week we took the carts to the car and my friend grabbed the two empty carts to take back inside and as she got the ramp to the door one got loose and hit a truck! In her defense the truck was parked illegally but still! LMAO
Then I ran back to see if the meat dept had anything for the foodbank. As I went to the back employee area where we pick up I noticed this heavy duty cart was blocking the aisle so I trotted over to move it before someone tripped over it. I grabbed the handles on the sides and the whole handle area came away in my hand!!! Craaaaaaaaaaaap! I was hastily trying to put it back together before anyone saw buuut noooo here came the meat manager with a box of goodies and there I am trying to fix the damn cart!!!
What's that saying hell is paved with good intentions! Boy ain't that the truth!
Mek - What time is it? It is time for interviewing new groomers. Good Luck. Kiss Bailey for me on the lips. I can't wait to see her picture. I got up early from my nap to get a report. I think I may go finish it now.
Love, Tinka
LynnD That sounds like the script for a sitcom! LMAO
MEK You are not a blog-hog. There is no such thing here. Besides, we all want to know what happened when you picked up Bailey.
Ummm would someone please tell me what strange convergence of events are happening here in the US?
We have the Dalai Lama and Desmond TuTu speaking this week in Seattle at the Seeds of Compassion conferences and now I see by the News the Pope has arrived in WA DC!
Should we be worried???
I'm bring hot fudge to pout over the ice cream and brownies. Topped with whipped cream, of course, and yes, nuts for me, please. Mmmmmmm....heaven.
Justlin: Sometimes my life feels like a badly written sitcom! LOL
Good point, LynnD! Or maybe we are just especially blessed this week. :)
As you can surmise, my comment was regarding the visitations to the US, not your sitcom-like adventures. LOL
By the way, the hot fudge doesn't "pout", it pours. LOL
LOL Justlin it took me a minute but I finally figured it out! LMAO
Happy Tuesday all you wonderful Owls.
Carol, When I read the blog I had the same thought as Barb/WA, has someone mentioned to you that she/he was not welcome here? Or did something else prompt the subject?
Anyway, I feel the same as everyone else about this place. It is my sanctuary in an otherwise hectic world. I love that I can come here to just chill with everyone. And I love that it is a "secret garden" per Lynn, and none of you Owls poo on the beautiful flowers (although I seem to remember Dianne...oh, nevermind). I love that you created it for ALL of us, not just one of us. I love that is has stayed drama free. And if this is what tedious is, I love that too. Thank you again Carol, for rescuing us and giving us this warm, friendly nest. I also love that I have been able to meet some of you at the BABB and Turtle in Hawaii (thanks again for showing us such a good time) and I look forward to the next BABB to meet even more of you.
I love you all and I really missed not having the daily contact when I was away.
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I'M SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!!! PISSED SCARED FREAKED YOU NAME IT!!!!!
I'm at home eating lunch and someone came to the door. He started giving some crap about do I have a freezer and that some guy I have never heard of ordered meat from him and he had extra. I know this scam and said no and then MY FRIGGEN CAT KODIAK RAN OUT THE DOOR!!! The guy said sorry and walked off. I was so pissed! Now I'm trying to get Kodi which is usually easy in the front yard because he freezes, but no, he ran out back and into the woods! The woods that are now full of blackberry vines! It took me forever to get him. I as crying, and getting stabbed by the vines which hurt like a mofo! And to top if off, there was a damn bunny running around out there getting him even more excited. I finally decided to act like I was heading back to the house and he came out and started following me. When he was close enough I went in for the grab. He is now going to be in time out in his room until I get home at 6!!!!
MEK: I hope you find everything OK with Bailey. Also, thanks for the weather report. It was 91 here on Sunday and 69 (for Turtle) here yesterday.
Tinka: LOL @ 55.
Barb_you_blog_whore_in_WA: LOL. You should have marched to 50. LOL
MEK: Another thing-I always burn the garlic bread so I alwasy buy an extra loaf of bread. I check it and check it and just when I turn my head, poof, it goes up in smoke. I am not allowed to make it anymore. Someone else is always "assigned" to watch the bread.
Whabbear: I didn't get to see GW on Friday and my TiVo didn't record it so I'll have to catch it on the re-run.
A big shout out to: LynnD, EBJ,scirish, ronnie, amicus,IBB, goldie,Just_Lin,Tinka,jodi and everyone else who swoops in later.
Barbwa Making you cat have a "time out". Sorry, but it made me laugh. Sounds like something my daughter would do with her cats.
Hey SacBarb! Waving a wing at you.
Barb/WA: I'm so sorry that your Kodi got out and you had to get him out of the woods, but I have to tell you that I also LOL at you putting himn in "time out." Poor kitty...
Hey J/L: What's up with Custard today?
barb- I'm glad Kodi is back safe and sound (well he, maybe not you, but I'm not so sure you were that "sound" to begin with- lol)
I can understand your being pissed though. HUGE deep breath and take 2 big brownies.
Mek, I'm so glad Bailey is home now. I agree with everyone else, don't go back there. That kind of display in lack of concern, would really tick me off too. Well, she's safe now, and I'm sure she's resting. What a day for both of you.
Brownies, I love 'em...the gooeyer the better. Thank you.
Poor little kitty put in time-out...too funny!
It's been happy, sad, informative, cooking, marching, opinions, de-virgining, scams, secret gardens, and a little bit of everythig today.....I love being here, Ronnie says, with chocolate all over my chin.
SacBarb Custard is all involved in the volunteer firefighting thing now. Today he left work early and went and got an emergency beacon for the top of his truck. I know he used to do this in his early 20's but that was long ago. This is worrisome when we're almost 61!
Howdy Owls!!!
Congrats on being the early bird BarbinWa!!
Carol I LOVE LOVE LOVE this nest and I am so very grateful that you took the step to create a safe place filled with sunshine for us to spend time.
THANK YOU.
I will probably be locked out of the nest after this post, but I can't control my fingers.
When I have the time,I'm an advid reader of blogs.
I rarely comment on any of them with the exception of Huffington Post.
The only "celeb" blogs I've read and posted on were Rm and Ant.I haven't been at either of those for along time.
Those blogs aren't for me.
Why???
Because I won't blow smoke up their butts for attention or friendship & it seems that is required on those blogs.
The Owls nest is NOT RM or Ant blog.
We have OWLS that have never read or posted at those celeb blogs.
This Nest isn't about ONE PERSON.
It's not a career promo.
It's about ALL people.
A place without discrimination, everyone here is equal and welcome.
This type of forum has many personalities and opinions.
Sometimes they clash.
It's human nature.
One of the many things I love about this nest is, it is RESPECTED.
Adults are acting like adults and not kiddies in the playground fighting.
"IF" they are, they are keeping it off the board, in their private mail and not forcing friends to take or pick sides.
For that I am very thankful.
Part of being a grown up is we can hangout in the same place even tho we might not like everyone or agree with everyone that hangs out in the same place.
** Disclaimer**
The above is only my opinion.
It was not written with the intention to hurt or offend anyone.
My sincere apologies if I hurt or offended anyone with this post.
I LOVE THE NIGHT OWLS BLOG!
With Love, xox
SUSAN:
In case u haven't signed on to your space, you have mail, hehe, not a big deal just the link for u to see your photo I snagged.

Hi Lovey and AMEN. Icouln't agree more.
J/L: My son was a volunteer firefighter for a while and I know how worrisome that can be at any age.
OK....I'm back at work and I have calmed down. I itch like mad though. All those blackberry vines were sticking to my sweater, pants and skin. My legs itch, my arms itch, my back itches. Ugh.
You do have to laugh at Kodi though. He was so excited, and I was so terrified. Now I can feel a headache coming on. Better take drugs. Druuuuuuugss.....I need drugs.....
MEK....I'm so glad you have Bailey. Shoot me an email and let me know how she is doing. Hugs.
Busy, Busy, Busy!!
I will fly back later!
I will probably drop from exhaustion.
TinaHO!!!!!
Someone phones to leave you a little melodic ditty on your voiceamil and then you phone back and trash her performance?
Im gonna call you SimonHO from now on......so there!!!!
Barbara in Wa - I feel your frustration. I have had the same thing happen. Someone comes to your door who you did not invite and somehow the cat or cats slip by them. I have roamed through blackberry bushes on many occasions calling their names. Yes you need drugs or a brownie (is that the same thing?) to calm down.
Before you free Kodi from 'time out' have a really good talk with him and explain to him how he gave his mommy a headache. He may surprise you and never do again. LOL
LOVEY - Well said.....20 kudos to you!!! I hope you are getting a taste of spring like I am.
TURTLE - She actually woke me up.....kind of sounded like a screaching cat!!!
ZonaBaby - It arrived. (((Hugs)))
and thank you. You are such a loving daughter. "I'll Love You Forever".
Mom
Ronnie - Pass the chocolate please. I am in need of a pick me up.
160 -This is fun.
I must get some work done. It is less than two hours to American Idol. Then it's evening and evening is no time to do any chores.
Be back later.
TINKA - I love that you're marching to your own drummer!!!
BARB/WA - So glad you got Kodi back!!
LYNN D - I luv your stories about the food run!! This week naughty carts, last week the 5 body trunk!!!
GOLDIE - I see how it is......you just love me for my potato salad....sniff, sniff.....BARB/WA pass those tissues back.
ITEACH - Waving a wing at you!! Too bad about the new filter system at school.
GOLDIE - Oh, I alsmost forgot....you didn't sound cranky to me at all.....I'd say you were spot on!!!
sssshhhhh......I'm hunting down 169!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!
left, left, left, right, left!!!

Grilled Ham N' Cheese Sandwiches (sorry MO!!!)
Looks like GOLDIE has dessert covered!!
ENJOY!!
kahonugrl.....thank you so much for the message. makes me feel good to know someone was concerned. hugs my friend!
HI Everyone!
CPGEM: I love the Night Owls. I appreciate so much that you have created this place for all of us.
I haven't posted much in the last week because there is a lot of stuff...can we say CRAP...going on in my life. Plus it's 94 frickin' degrees and I refuse to turn on the air conditioning until May 1st. The electric company will have to wait for their $300 a month, and I will have to swelter and complain. ;) Things seem to be settling down now, although it is still too hot.
That said, I'm hoping to be able to come here to play more often.
Off I go to read the comments.
Happy IDOL Tuesday mateys! I'm too late today for personalized hellos to all but it's so good to catch up with you again through your posts.
CAROL, this place truly is a NEST of shelter, relaxation, nourishment and togetherness, as all before me have said. LOVE IT HERE! I sometimes think that, because we can't use our sense of sight with each other, our other caring senses and sensabilities are heightened.
"Fawning over" Barb/Wa for #1-#5. Tell me you didn't snag your pretty big-girl panties chasing Kodi through the brambles....Loved the visual :o)
MEK~~Sharing concern over Bailey. Initially, I wondered if she had been traumatized by another 'client' during her last visit to a trusted groomer. But then when they blew off your concern........??? Give her extra nuzzles from me.
RONNIE~~It just keeps getting better once you get past that viginity thing, doesn't it? btw, can't thank you enough for Chewy, the goat! I'm letting him take over the yardwork for the rest of the day!
LOVEY & GOLDIE~~Especially well-said.....two wings up **snap**
LYNND~~Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, the Pope, Oprah's Big Give and A New Earth online seminars....Could it be the entire country is exhausted from years of crisis and conflict and is eager to find its 'Nest' of compassion, caring, and honoring diversity of thought?
Can't wait for the IDOL teasers to start........Do tell!
174?
175?? Just 'cuz!
MEK,
You were right to be concerned about Bailey's unusual behavior, and you had a right to have your questions answered with compassion for your feelings. It's disappointing to read that didn't happen.
Dogs have different personalities just like humans do so it's not uncommon for some dogs to be nervous when they arrive for grooming. Some are just timid by nature, and some weren't properly socialized as puppies so things outside of their normal routine and environment make them nervous. Also, dogs are very sensitive to our emotions so if an owner is nervous about leaving his/her dog, the dog might be nervous too.
That being said, I've never seen an outgoing dog do a complete 180 in behavior like Bailey did. That does concern me. Sometimes, I've noticed small changes in behavior due to stress factors at home, like mom and dad are packing for a trip or construction work is being done on the house or relatives are staying at the house, etc., but the dogs are still happy to see me. They're just not as energetic as they normally are, because they're tired from stress.
Since Bailey's behavior was so dramatically different, and you were treated rudely for being concerned, I too think it's time to find a new groomer.
Jodi - That's the only way I know how to march.
I just made a tuna casserole for supper. How very interesting. Anyone have something better to share?
Good Afternoon Amicus - I was guessing that would be your 'take' on the situation too. Something was amiss. How did your day go?
ZonaBaby- Hi. You've got mail. Check it after you read the comments. It's cold and windy here. Please send some of your heat. It is more like January than April.
Dianne and Bon O - I just checked area 51 and got a good laugh over your surprise at my posting at midnight. That's what happens Dianne. Some old folks turn night into day. LOL
Flying through and sending beaky Muwahhh to everyone!
Barb: I was more afraid for you with a stranger at the door. The time out was priceless tho!
Bono: You could be very right! I was thinking maybe the ultimate being was sending a special message to Americans! Maybe time to do a spirituality check!
Hodi: So happy to entertain you! Anymore accidents and I think we will have to buy more insurance coverage! LOL
Kgirl: Your post sent me ROFLMAO! What kind of friend critiques your phone ditty??? SimonHO! Snorting and LMAO
Zona: Glad to see you post!!
Lovey and Goldie: Very wise Owls!
Ok going to check emails and message and then I have to go run errands!
180 -- I have to stop this.
Tinka: You are cracking me up. Are you becoming a marching Ho???
Lynn - I think you were actually 180. I had better stop this before I mess up the night time march. I don't plan to be up at midnight tonight. It ruined my whole day. I had plans to buy a back up hard drive with a terabyte of Ram (that's 1000 GB) but with the short night sleep I didn't have the energy.
Carol,Thanks for mentioning me in today's blog when you said "fat"! ROFLMAO
no seriously, I see what you mean...None of us are going to have a good day EVERY day! Life is a balance of the good and bad...
I do appreciate this place and the wonderful people here! I just can't figure out how to stay caught up on comments the way you guys do!
I told you I need that cliffnotes version haha
American Idol! WOOHOO!
Okay, my spoiler list will be:
Glynis,MEK, Jodi, Turtle, BONO, and I do believe that's it! lol...Since noone will be kicked off, I will just mail out a summary of the performances with my commentary! lol
Myspace me if you are not on the list and want one later;)
Have a good evening all!
LOL@Tink!
Joey: Please add me to your "spoiler" list, especially tomorrow. I am not going to be home to watch Idol. Thanks.
SacBarb - I am trying hard to become one. What else do I have to do to officially become a marching Ho? Maybe march with someone besides myself?
One hour until A. I. and my casserole is ready now. See you after the show.
I am still grieving for Michael.
ok....i have come to the conclusion that i am completely pathetic. my leg muscles feel like a ran a marathon and my back is all tight and f'd up. all this from crawling around in the woods. pathetic. just pathetic. and i still have not drugged myself up yet. better do that now that my back hurts.
MEK...I hope your pending company has not been the one to upset your poor Bailey.
Tink!! I love that you're so computer savvy! lol
I would DIE for one of those hard drives!
I just sold a 500gb one on ebay actually..Mailed it today! I had a nice lunch with my Aunt and we ran errands...The SUPER NICE female server was talking with my Aunt and my Aunt told her how she lost her only child(my cousin Crystal) at age 18 in a car wreck 18 yrs. ago!
The woman got all teary-eyed and was hugging my Aunt! I thought it was so sweet!
But yeah, the post office was a bit crowded of course...Tomorrow is the one yr. anniversary of the shootings at VA TECH(about 12 mins. from my apartment) so I hear national media, etc. will be in town..Not sure if I'm gonna go fight the crowds or not! Each family member just received $100,000.00-It will never bring their child back though!
Sorry to rant! lol
Will do sacbarb! I was just thinking "haven't I sent her one before"?hehe
Have you uploaded pics of your vacation yet?? I haven't looked!
Come on Tink! I challenge you to a march! lol
192!
Barb/WA: Drugs and brownies, that's what you need.
