I love it in the Spring right after it has snowed. It usually snows during the night or early morning and by the afternoon, it has melted in the valley but the mountains are covered. The air is crisp and cool, usually around 50 degrees, and the sun is shining. This is the view that the kids at my hubby's school have when they are daydreaming and looking out the window. When I look out the window at work to watch the planes take off, this is the spectacular backdrop. The mountains still take my breath away even after fifteen years. I'm very blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

Yep spring is here I swear some of the grass in our yard grew 2 to 3 inches yesterday. It was 72 degrees and all of the bugs were flying around like they were drunk on spring wine. Mr. Lynn D was out rototilling his garden and the neighbors were going crazy with tractors and riding lawn mowers.
Me I just sat and enjoyed the sunshine!

Only because I'm awake butt-ugly early because we had a hot day yesterday and hard to sleep with no air in house. Started making mental to-do lists at 2am, finally got out of bed at 4am to write some of it down.
We have four weekends left in California. Starting to get sad about leaving my friends, excited to be getting back to family, nervous about the economic situation. Paul had two good phone interviews last week...fingers crossed that he makes the cut to the 2nd round on at least one of them.

Reminded me of my February trip to Reno last year. There had been a snowstorm a couple of days before I arrived. When I got there the days were warming up to 40-50 degrees and very sunny. It was gorgeous!
We will have to learn to live with snow in Oklahoma. Never saw much of it in central Texas, more ice than anything else.

I thoroughly enjoyed your vid today. The mountains are so beautiful. Growing up in Glendora, CA, I could always see snow capped Mt. Baldy in the distance. I enjoy looking at the snow much more than being in the snow.
It is 82 here today on the northern Calif. coast. It feels like summer. I had a hot dog today for lunch. I don't normally care for them too much, but I was really having a craving. I blame it on the warm weather. I will have to be really good at dinner to make up for it....fish and broccoli.

Well, yesterday I got out of the house as the snow is melting like crazy and took my gd's to see 17 Again. It was very cute. There were some of the things in the movie that went over their head and that was just fine. They asked no questions and I didn't have to come up with any answers but it was an enjoyable movie.
Now on a more serious note...
I just wanted to remember the victims of Columbine today. It has been 10 years. We live just down the street from the school (we didn't 10 years ago) and it is such a reminder EVERY time you drive by the school. The pictures that we all watched on TV come back to haunt you as you really see the area and the windows, etc.
There are a lot of TV cameras over there today when I went by. There will be a candlelight vigil at the actual memorial tonight headed up by the families. It seems so strange to watch the current coverage and see those kids all grown up and some with children of their own now.
I am sure this is one of those sad incidents that we each remember where and what we were doing when the news came out.
Again, it is a very sad day for the families and our country...just as the other horrible shootings in so many other states have been for all of us.
DIANNE - I thought about that this morning. I lit a candle for the families....can't believe it's been 10 years. I can remember thinking wtc has this world come to?

Dianne - I saw Lester Holt do a story yesterday on The Today show - that five Columbine graduates that were there 10 years ago - have become teachers themselves and teach at Columbine..
Last month - the school got a bomb threat and one of the young ladies was going to call in sick - one of the other gals called her and 'talked her thru it' - said - if there really is a bomb - would you want a sub to be with YOUR students...... and she said NO - so she went to school.....
It's so hard to believe that it has been 10 years. I remember being at work and one of our patients running into the office screaming that one of our schools had been taken hostage - she had NO idea what school or where, so we were panicked...... anyway - it was a very sad day - thank GOD that they didn't master the art of bomb making.......

Caryn I have had a machine for over three years. It does make a difference. I had slept in a chair for 18 months so the hardest part for me was getting use to sleeping in a bed again. Once you get use to it you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner. Good luck!
