Tina~in_ut said...

okay jodi~ do you make ANYTHING good? Do you buy anything I like to eat? hmmmmmmm?

hello month, Di, and jen~

Maureen said...

I think our problem is our name. The Browns...big tough shit. Means nothing. We need an intimidating name. Since we have the dawg pound, maybe we should change our name to the Pit Bulls or Dobermans. But our management is so bad they would pick the Cleveland Chihuahuas...real intimidating! They would line up and shake!

Jodi said...

TINA - I have some leftover chili dip from yesterday!! Does that work for you? Otherwise I'm afraid you're sol ;P

Jodi said...

MO - This is what wikipedia has to say about that....

The Green Bay Packers were founded on August 11, 1919[4] by former high-school football rivals Earl "Curly" Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun.[5] Lambeau solicited funds for uniforms from his employer, the Indian Packing Company. He was given $500 for uniforms and equipment, on the condition that the team be named for its sponsor. Today "Green Bay Packers" is the oldest team-name still in use in the NFL, both by its nickname and by virtue of remaining in its original city.

Jodi said...

TINA - I got it.....I have summer sausage in the fridge. Very close to salami ♥

Maureen said...

HODI...that is actually and intersting story. Good luck today!

Dianne/Denver said...

Mo-- ur team is named after "big ough shit"? I never knew that

Maureen said...

Usinger's Summer Sausage?? YUMMMMM!

Maureen said...

DIANNE...LMBO!!!

Tina~in_ut said...

Jodi~ I'd starve at ur house~ omg!!!!!

DeeDee said...

Good morning ladies....Tina...

lmao@ Cleveland Chihuahuas...They would line up and shake!

DeeDee said...

this is to die for...somebody please make me one!!!

GOOEY BUTTER CAKE

Servings: 6 to 8 servings
Prep Time: 30 min
Cook Time: 40 min
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

Cake:
1 18 1/4-ounce package yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling:
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 16-ounce box powdered sugar

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer.
Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

Prepare Filling

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter and beat together.
Next, add the powdered sugar and mix well. Spread over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey.

This stuff will make you "slap yo mama".....I have this every morning for breakfast....a 6.5 oz slice. I add berries or whatever is in season....I like it on a paper doily on a silver compote with just a smidge of whipped cream...add a flute of mimosa and you have a very elegant and tasty start to your day....

God I sound like Martha Stewart....but these are facts....whip one up and report back to me....or pay your corn money...its up to you!!

Tina~in_ut said...

DeeDee~ If I give you directions to your kitchen (that's where this would be made), do you think you could make it?

Jodi said...

DEE DEE - I am sooooooo gonna make your cake!!! But another day....banana bread is in the oven, and I'm ready for a nap before the big game.

TINA - I guess you'd better bring your own food then ;)

DeeDee said...

Cook took out a restraining order and I am not allowed in those rooms....

and I was just trying to be helpful.....but I made a mistake and put a bag of trash in the dishwasher instead of the trash smasher....

and of course I turned it on...hows it going to work otherwise!

And I don't think mistaking one of those huge refrigerators for Fur Storage is that big a stretch of the imagination.....

and frankly...all that mixing and beating and patting and spreading is a recipe for diaster with me trying it...

whabbear said...

Yum! In honor of Dee Dee's recipe, I'm going to have a Safeway-bought cupcake for breakfast!

And as for The Browns... How about combining both of this morning's themes and calling them the Cleveland Chocolate Crepes?

That'll strike fear into their opponents!

East Bay J said...

Good morning/afternoon!

LOVE the Village People! This guy in the video is pretty talented! Plus he has a nice ass :)

Mo how bout calling your team the Cleveland Fudge Brownies? It incorporates the orignal name, with a fun and tasty flair!

The gooey cake recipe sounds delish, I will def. have to try it.

Jodi, banana bread sounds good! Bet your kitchen smells wonderful!

Can't believe the holidays are over, this past year just flew by.

BBL!

Tina~in_ut said...

the Cleveland Fudge Brownies.....hmmmmmm....that made me think of a similar name!!!!~ lq~

Maureen said...

WHABBY...and in 22 seconds we would be nicknamed the CREEPS instead of CREPES! Not so good!

Isn't the gooey cake a Paula Deen recipe?

DEE DEE...I thought "all that mixing and beating and patting and spreading is a recipe for diaster with me trying it..." would leave you with a flaming zorch!

Maureen said...

TINA...I think we had the same thought! lnsq!

EBJ...LOL!!

Maureen said...

DEE DEE...be careful with those boobies, you could poke your only eye out with one of those! .)

DeeDee said...

no Maureen....it might leave me with a flaming cocina though...lol

How dare you! The Butter Cake is a recipe that has been handed down for generations in my family!

PAULA DEEN!!! Y I oughta.....

recipe courtesy of Paula Deen

DeeDee said...

so...yes it is a PD recipe....and a good one...

They sell individual serving in the bakery at Walmart for $3 but it got to the point that they were always sold out!

Turns out the recipe is better than the ones at Walmart.....Deen has an exclusive arrangement with Walmart so the only way to get them is at Walmart or use the recipe....

We make it and freeze it in individual servings because I don't let anyone have any other than myself and Belle....

Maureen said...

DEE DEE...I saw it once at WalMart and they were 50%off. Like an idiot, I only bought one of the chocolate gooeys. Never saw them again .(

Maybe it is a Paula DEE DEEN recipe

Just_Lin said...

DeeDee "...all that mixing and beating and patting and spreading"> I think you have your kitchen confused with your bedroom.

That was a cute vid. Thanks, DeeDee.

Just_Lin said...

Tina No wonder you're slender. You don't eat anything.

Just_Lin said...

HOdi I'll a little of everything.

Just_Lin said...

Dianne I didn't realize Tina was up early sobbing. So that's what the moaning is all about!

Just_Lin said...

MO At least they aren't the Cleveland Brown 'n Serves (little weenies). LOL

Just_Lin said...

Bear There used to be a restaurant in San Mateo called The Magic Pan that made the most delicious crepes. Boy, I miss that place.

Just_Lin said...

EBJ I know! I was late getting into the holiday spirit so the time went by even faster than usual for me. My tree is still up but I'm going to have to take it down soon.

Just_Lin said...

Jennifer I'm glad to see you popped in. I hope you're feeling better about things.

Maureen said...

DEE DEE...guess what I have in my mouth as I type? NO, not that!

Paula Deen's Original Gooey Butter Cake! I went to Super WalMart to gross-ry shop and I looked for it and BAM...there it was! Sooooo good!

JUST LIN...I just about spit out my gooey cake! Cleveland Brown and Serve!!! They are big 'weenies, tho! Sooo funny!!! LOL!

DeeDee said...

omg Maureen....I love that stuff!!

and really I think the store bought is the best....now that you are eating one....

well...maybe the recipe...

no...store bought....the recipe...

hell...they are both great!

And the sugar grams...and I am diabetic....lol

O M G ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

J/L!!!!! THIS IS ME SCREAMING!!!!!!

I LOVED THE MAGIC PAN!!!!! It was my favorite restaurant....my friends and I went all the time~ Chicken Divan....my favorite crepe~ And then I took the hubby....ruined it....he didn't like it....he's ruined a lot of my favorite places~ :( But alas....it's no longer~

DeeDee~ That part where you said, "We make it and freeze it in individual servings because I don't let anyone have any other than myself and Belle...." Who is WE? Do you have a cook in ur pocket?

DeeDee said...

no dear....Cook is in the kitchen...Driver is driving....the White Girls are cleaning....ga!

Just_Lin said...

Tina Yes!!!! Chicken Divan was my favorite! Sometimes I would get a mushroom one, too. And how about that dark cherry dessert one? OMG!!! I loved everything about that place. Loved the salad! Loved the split pea soup! I liked the soup with a dollop of sour cream rather than with sherry. I worked nearby so had many lunches and/or dinners there. I miss that place soooooo much.

Just_Lin said...

Tina Seems like hubby would have at least liked the ratatouille (sp?) crepe.

Mary/MI said...

You are all making me drool! All the talk about food!!
I wish I would have read DeeDee's recipe earlier. I just finished making a bunt cake. I would have made the "GOOEY BUTTER CAKE" instead! Next time...

Dee Dee, the vid cracked me up! I couldn't see it very well on my Droid. I kept thinking " man those guys sure keep in unison" lol!!

I get my jeep back tomorrow!!
I had the receptionist laughing. I called Friday and asked her if there was any chance of getting my jeep before next year! Turns out not lol!

Maureen said...

That 6.5 oz. slice is actually 2 servings! I had the whole thing! Enough fat and sugar for a couple of days!! BUt ohhh sooo good! At least it is now out of the house!!

BEBBI...nice to see you here.

MARRRRRRRRRY!

Mary/MI said...

I'm now on my 4th CeeGee book!!

J/L I am doing my best in trying to stay out of his life and just focus on me. He says he is getting help, but we will see. Even though he didn't get the DUI, which I think he should have, he has one huge huge ticket fine for going 91.

East Bay J said...

JL I used to go to the Magic Pan at Ghirardelli Square a long time ago. Delish!

Mo speaking of the Bachelor, the new season starts tomorrow night!
:)

I know you were talking about a different bachelor, though... haha!

Tina I bet you were thinking of fudge packer right? Or something like that!

Nitie nite all!
