April Fools' Day
well it seems the joke is on me today
last nite driving home, my car just died
my 2007 Acura TL called it quits
without any explanation
i had just got done at the supermarket
buying my weekly "weight watchers" meals
and stocking up on some other frozen items
here i am in the middle of the parking lot
with all my frozen foods in the trunk
and a car that would not move
i tried calling home to see if anyone
could pick me up, no answer
tried the cell, no answer, so needless to
say i am on my own
i do not live far from the supermarket
so i took off walking with my frozen foods,
my briefcase and my purse
every finger, forearm, elbow and hand
were taken, if i could have used my toes
i would have, however i had just gotten
a pedicure and did not want to ruin my
very pretty toes
as i walk my cell phone rings, now how
in gods name am i going to answer the phone
so i let it ring...it rings again...and again
i finally try to find it...looking, grasping, panting
and plop i fall, my frozen foods are now all
over the street, with everything else i was holding
my face is staring at concrete, not a pretty site!
i gather myself up, and all my belongings and
walk back to the car all disheveled
and wait for a ride
the ride came and i am fine
i guess it was just one of those days
where everything seems to go kaput!!!
and my Acura its fine as well
it would have been good if i took the
car out of drive, before trying to start it!
Ha, so the joke is on me, but perhaps
i am not alone!
:O)

Oh god it is nice to know that I am not the only one that has those days!
Carol I don't mean to laugh at your misery but... the car was still in drive??? LOL
Example of one of those days.
When the kids were little I was walking through the grossry store parking lot with my car keys in hand. Just before my car I dropped the keys. No big deal right?
Well the damn keys bounced and went down an uncovered drainage hole!! I stood there with my mouth open and stared!
I did get the keys back with the help of some wonderful electricians that where working in the grossry store. They were very creative with wire cable and a magnet! Tho they were all laughing there butts off at me! I didn't care and bought them a case of beer for after work!
Unfortunately I have these days quite regularly! LMAO
Good morning!
Congrats Lynn!
Funny story Carol! I got up a while ago and have not had coffee yet, so will try to think of something to share. Probably later when I get home from work!
Congrats for QOTD Shirley! That was a good one!
Have a great day!
Shirley congrats on QOTD!
Well I guess I am talking to myself this morning! Not that that is unusual as I talk to myself all the time.
Lynn are you ready for the food run today?
Well no Lynn I am not. I have to jump in the shower soon and then gather my notes as to who I need to see at the pick up.
Lynn have you called your friend that is going with you?
Uh no Lynn I haven't yet because I was catching up with the Owls.
Don't you think you should get your butt in gear and do that?
Geez well yeah I do but I need one more cup of coffee first.
Good Morning - I am late posting because I read my messages first. It seems every one slept in on April Fool's Day because when I finally got here there were only 4 comments. Off to read the blog.
Good Morning Lynn and East Bay J. I thought I would say that and then read. Happy April Fool's Day.
Carol, you read my mind! I thought today would be a GREAT day to share funny stories and or great April Fool's Day (or any day) pranks!
Good morning Lynn D and congrats on being first!
Morning also to EBJ and Tinka!
Wow, QOTD...cool!!
Good morning Lynn D. Congrats on being 1st.

Morning Jennifer. Don't forget breakfast. Lol!
Now for some fun...
Last night, my daughter kept bugging me that she was going to "get me" today (for April Fool's Day)! I told her that she needs to be careful about who she "gets"! However, she was CONVINCED she was going to do something to me!
So, this morning comes and as usual, Katie's alarm and RADIO pop on to wake her (and she NEVER hears it even though both are on FULL BLAST and only INCHES from her HEAD)! So, I do my usual SHOUTS to wake her! (It doesn't matter "how" one wakes her as she is always a cranky grouch in the mornings...no matter how early she goes to bed)!
20 minutes later (after allowing her to sleep, "5 more minutes" and "just 2 more minutes", etc.), I finally give my "ultimatum" shout that she should get up or else!
She gets out of bed and slams the bathroom door shut and takes her shower! So...I wait for her to get all dressed and ready and I go bursting in her room screaming, "guess what I heard on the radio, Katie?!" "What?" she replies. "WE DON'T HAVE SCHOOL TODAY" I exclaim!!! WHOOHOO, and other shouts and jumps for joy are seen and heard from Katie! "HOW COME??" she asks. "Because...it's APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!" I respond! She was NOT very happy with me (probably because I "got" her and I "got her" before she could "get me")!
Ok...I have to go help out a teacher...but I will be back to tell about the MEAN prank my dad pulled on me! (It must be genetic)! ; )
Shirley thank you for breakfast!
Carol way to go on Weight Watcher meals! The last couple of days I have not done well at all on eating healthy foods.
I drove around town once with my trunk up. Some guy was trying to get my attention with it and I thought he was trying to flirt. Boy did I feel stupid.
Numerous times I have forgotten to put the gas cap back on. Just love it when the cars honk and tell you that your gas cap is off. I'm glad they do, but then I feel like such a ding dong.
Oh Carol, Your story is one that you laugh at years later but is quite a tragedy at the time. You could have broken something and I mean bones when you fell. Lots of bad things could have happened. I am so glad it was a
"joke" and you just forgot to put it in drive. While I was reading it, I thought ""How could a new car just quit? It must be serious." I am glad you are safe and sound. By the way I just discovered the 'Weight Watchers' meals and I really like them, especially the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy.
Good morning, Carol, EBJ, Tinkatia, Shirley, Jennifer, and Lynn D!
Carol: OMG! I hate it when automation is designed with no insight into what it's doing or why it's doing it! All Acura (or any car company) has to do is provide some indication on the DIS panel that you are trying to start the car while the transmission isn't in "park" and none of that would have happened!
Shirley: I found Big Island and wrote you a quick comment about it last night after you went to bed. It's on the Northumberland strait coast not far from Antigonish. My relatives have had the cottage there for over 60 years, and they make the trek from Ontario for a summer holiday every year.
I've only ever been to Halifax in Nova Scotia, but after reading your description yesterday, it sure would be fun to visit your town too!
Lynn, It always amazes me that if you drop something it can land in the strangest places. When I am filling my pill boxes each week I have to be so careful not to drop one because of my animals. If I do, it's a 20 minute search and I usually find it in the most impossible spot. How does that happen?
You were doing what I do many a morning and that is to sit in the nest all alone. I see more owls have arrived now.
Morning Glories!
Waving at EBJ, Tinka, Jennifer (loved that you got your daughter first!) LOL, Iteach and Whabby!
I pulled a prank once on April fools day for a friend and I still feel guilty about it!!
She asked me to call her friend and pretend I was from the IRS.
Well I did and I was damn convincing. I told him instead of a refund he had miscalculated and actually owed $1634.52 cents. ( I still remember the amount I quoted and this was in 1980). I thought the poor guy was going to have a heart attack! I quickly handed off the phone to her!
She was laughing her butt off when she said April Fools. He kept asking who I was. Thank God he did not know me! He kept saying he was going to hunt me down. Yikes! He later told her what got him was the .52 cents at the end of my dollar amount and that was why he really believed I was from the IRS because they would squeeze out your last nickle! LMAO
Hi Tinka: I don't know what the universal law is that if you drop something it will land somewhere to either embarrass you or make it damn hard to find! LOL
I have dropped pills too and always have to get on my hands and knees to search as I worry the dogs will find them!
Whabbear I saw your message in area51 and went to a map to look but I still didn't find it. I looked all along the coast too. I'll have to find another map and look again. But I live on the south shore of the province between Bridgewater and Yarmouth.
Good morning Iteach. You are welcome for breakfast. I just hope Dreama doesn't throw the dishes away again today. They get expensive to replace. Lol!
Good Morning to-
Shirley - Thanks once more for breakfast. I will have my usual, orange juice, shredded wheat, toast, marmalade and tea. Ah heaven.
Jennifer - The morning isn't over. Katie may get you back and worse. BEWARE!!!!!!!
Iteach - I never liked April Fool's Day at school. The pranks seemed to go on forever. Tell us tomorrow what they did to you today.
Whabbear - I have relatives in Antigonish. Of course you already know I was born in Halifax - a great city.
Shirley - I have relatives in Yarmouth too, small world.
Good Morning All
Happy April Fool's....
Its a day for laughter, and to share funny stories of your April Fool's pranks!!
BTW.....
My Blog Today.....
Gotcha!!!!!!
April Fools.....
Carol you are evil!!!
And that is why I love you.
Well you got me Carol!!! You sneaky Ho!!!
Good morning. Congrats on 1st Lynn and my you have a lovely way of conversing with yourself.
Way to go Carol!
I do think an evil April Fools was played on me today. Yesterday I planned to play 'hokey' from work today. I had told a few people that I wouldn't be there today (not people at work). I needed a day off to get some stuff done and I haven't used a sick day in over a year.
Well, guess what? I really am sick today! Ugh. That will teach me. I just should have taken the day off and been done with it. Now nothing is going to get done.
Have a good day hooters-I am going back to bed.
Carol, I would never be telling anyone this story if I hadn't read about you doing almost the same thing. I am embarrassed to remember it. It was about a year ago. I had just recovered from the flu and hadn't been out of the house for a couple of weeks. I had two appointments. I had to drop my dogs off at the groomers and then get a mammogram. Both appointments were for exact times. When I got to the car I saw the door had not been completely shut which meant the little red light (not the overhead light) had been on for days. My heart almost stopped because I was so afraid my battery would be dead. (I have a '5 on the floor' 4 wheel drive Toyota.) I reached in to start the car and nothing happened. It was dead. My heart was racing fast. I phoned the groomer, burst into tears and told her the story. She said "Calm down, I will send my husband for the dogs. It's not that big a problem" I phoned B.C.A.A. and still crying told them the story. Because I was upset they 'red flagged' me which meant I went to the top of the list and said they would be there in 20 minutes. I phoned the mammogram clinic and they thought it was best if I re-booked. The B.C.A.A. man was here in no time at all. He got in the car and it started fine. He couldn't understand what was wrong. I realized as soon as he started it that I had reached in and turned the key. I did not get in and put down the clutch. Of course it wouldn't start. I have not told anyone this story until now and I will think a few minutes as to whether I should delete it. Can we "Senior Moment" or
"Mentally disturbed". Take your pick.
Carol - I am the one you really got because I believed you and opened my soul to you. I am the Fool of the Day. Just wait until next year. I will plan all year on what I will do to you. Good one Carol.
Love, Tinka
Goldie - Good Morning. That is called Karma my dear.
Carol - I am still planning. To think I felt so sorry for you. You little devil in angel's clothing.
ROFLMAO! Tink, she got me good, too!
Carol, you ARE fabulous ! LOL!
Whabbear - Yes I think Carol should get a medal for that one. I am still laughing too. I don't know why because I am the brunt of the joke but I still think it's a good one.

Good Morning, Happy April Fool's!! to everyone that is up and posting.
Carol - thanks for the laugh today!!
Jodi - thanks for the chocolate milk and the cake donut!! Love ya.
Lynn D - congrats on number 1 and your conversation with yourself - that was very entertaining.
I'm off to the REAL world again today - got alot done NOT being on the computer all day!! Have WAY too much to do in WAY too little time!!
I hope everyone has an excellent day!! :-)
Boy do I feel stupid! But I am still laughing!
Goldie: Sorry you are sick!! Why does that happen? Tinka Karma is mean sometimes!
Good Morning MEK: You and goldie should hear my car conversations!! Those are doozies!
Well I will check in with y'all later! Have to take off here and do a food run for the foodbank!
Carol, LOL! You got me too! I am off to make a pan of lasagna for a friend who had surgery yesterday, and visit with her while her caregiver takes a break. I will see who I can "fool" today. Be good everyone
Carol
OMG, what a crazy thing to have happened.
Lynn D
congrats on #1.
Shirley
thanks for breakfast. Yummy!
Goldie
hope ya feel better soon.
EBJ & others who I miss have a fun filled day.
Ditto of what Mek said. I'm off to the real world today!
Tinkatia et al.:
Not to worry. We all do silly things that get us into trouble. Years ago I was up at Whistler on a skiing trip with my ex and a bunch of friends. We were trying to meet them for dinner and I was driving a standard transmission jeep-type truck that I wasn't familiar with. To make a long story short, the stupid thing just wouldn't shift into gear, simply because (I eventually discovered) I wasn't pushing the clutch in hard enough!
That simple little mistake cost us big time in frustration and headache that night!
Hi, Mary! Did you see my comment yesterday? Hoping so...
Love you!
Good Morning Owls!
I feel like Mother Nature is playing an April Fools trick on us. I woke up to 2-1/2 inches of fresh snow this morning.
NOT FUNNY MOTHER NATURE!!!!
I am so ready for Spring... I am chomping at the bit to sit out in the sun and listen to the birds, while my kids ride their bikes. Maybe April 2nd will be nicer.
It better get nice by next week. it is officially Spring Break and how can we break without Spring?
Have a great afternoon everyone!!
Whabbear - You have made my day by sharing that story for me. That makes me feel so much better. I felt so stupid I never did share with my groomer or anyone else except my close family. You are a doll. I love you.
SHIRLEY - Congrats on QOTD!!! I lol'd on that one!!
LYNN D - Congrats on first!!
CAROL - Great April Fool's!!!
GOLDIE - So sorry you are sick - lots of rest, liquids.....and maybe a brownie or two!!!
MEK - You're welcome. :)
Careful out there today, y'Owls! There's evil afoot everywhere, starting with our very own sweet Carol! I can hear her evil laughter, can't you? Good one, girl!
Tinka~~Because I know you love your music, here's something I got in the mail today to enjoy while pouting over your 'Senior Moment' Gotcha....

Beautiful and busy day here. See ya tonight for IDOL!
40!!!
Off to the grocery store - I hate shopping. But I am going to take my brown paper grocery bags with - they pay you .10 per bag that you reuse!!!
BON - Oh my freakin' hell!!! I love that list - totally made me laugh!!!
Oh No!!!! Don't you hate it when something like that happens! My favorite one, since I seem to do it alot, is to turn on the air conditioner for the defroster! Yeh, I'm smart like that! I do it in the car for the rear window defroster and in the truck for the side mirror defroster. We were in the truck a couple months ago when it was really cold out and hubby said "Why on earth do you have the air conditioner on?" Of course I cleaned up the real words he used.....
congrats on 1st lynn d!
congrats on the HILARIOUS QOTD shirley!
Bwaaaaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaa Carol! You silly girl!
Bon O - I am laughing so hard over your song titles my dogs think I have totally lost it. They are running around in circles. Those song titles are funny. Thanks for 'cheering me up'. I could have erased my story but it was too good of a joke for others to miss. Somebody had to be the biggest "April Fool". I really did believe her. Isn't she a minx?
Goldie - I mentioned Karma but I didn't say I was sorry to hear you were sick. I just scrolled back and my comment sounded mean. Take care today. Love, Tinka
Barbara in Wa - Did she get you too?
I have been on the computer from breakfast until it's time for lunch. Maybe I had better take Mek's advice and get back into the real world. But first a nap.
she sure did tinka!
49
50!!!!!!!!
bwaaaaa haaaa haaaaa!!!!!!!!
BARB/WA - Congrats on 50 - and I love your evil laugh!!! ;)
You 'GOT' me good, Carol!!! I was sitting here thinking, OMG, you poor thing. lol Great blog.
Congrats to lynn on first, and you'r right about dropping things and having to hunt all over for them. I wish you had been around to make a few telephone calls for me!! I love the $.52 part...you're good!
Shirley, thank you for the delightful breakfast, and again for the great blog yesterday.
Tink, You and I operate about the same way. Your story became funny after a few years, huh?
Goldie, Karma will bite your behind every time. Sorry you're not feeling well.
Mek, I'm joining you on the 'real world' stuff. I need to restock my refrigerator (and no, it's not turquoise) lol.
Be back in a while.
Ronnie
Thanks for all the congrats on QOTD. I just wanted to reasure K-girl that none of her family had been harmed.
The only stories I have to share today are from when I worked at IGA here in town. I worked in the bakery so the bakery manager and I would go in for 5 in the morning. No one else came into the store until 6:30 and that was the meat manager. He had to use our back entrance to come in. We always had a pot of coffee on and he would stop for a minute, get a cup of coffee and chat. Almost every morning either the bakery maager or I would switch the sugar for salt. The guy fell for it every time. But the funny part was we would do the same thing at break time and he always fell for it again. He was a nice guy but a knife or two short of a set.
One year for my friends birthday we "borrowed' her car and filled it up with balloons. We hid by the side of the building to watch. She kept looking all around but didn't see us. We were laughing our asses of. We used 70 balloon to do that trick.
Well that's all I can think of now. Bob'O loved your music list. I copied it and set it to my sister. She is going to be 49 on Saturday. She will love it.
Thanks Ronnie.
oh carol! you poor thing!!!
I did have to chuckle at the car being in drive tho.
Off to read the comments
Bad Carol!!!!! rotflma
Sorry Bob'O...I meant Bon'O. Oops! Lol!
Hi Scirish.
Shhh...I should be "working" but....
I did want to share a mean prank my dad pulled on my sister and me when we were kids! He came running in the back door, hollering for us. We come running into the kitchen where my dad is simultaneously pulling out his wallet and telling us that he heard the ice-cream truck going down the road. He gives us a few dollars and instructs us to run fast to catch up (as well as telling us to bring him back a fudge-bar)! Out the door we run, as fast as we could...for BLOCKS! Then it dawned on us what day it was! We come back, stomping in the back door where my dad is yelling, "April Fools" at us! (And we even had to give him the money back)!
I guess that is where I get my "mean" streak from! LOL!
CPGEM: Boy am I glad I came in late because the stories I would have told...OMG!
Congrats to LYNND!!! I love your owl and will get to see him all day now!
TINKA: I drop my BP med like that all the time. Get out the flashlight, scrounge around on my hands and knees looking for it..saying to myself "I heard it fall here, it has to be here.." and never find it. I call in Mr. Z and in .05 seconds, he sees it! Makes me crazy.
Oh, and don't feel badly at being 'gotten'..I would have been right there with you!
JENNIFER: I would watch my back when your daughter gets home! ;)
WHABBEAR: I LOVED how you came up with a solution to solve CPGEM's "problem"..you are so sweet!
GOLDIE: Hope you feel better. This will make you grin. I never realized I was QOTD yesterday and when you asked about the hopital, I just assumed you wondered how I was rescued! :)
ITEACH: Mr. Z always thinks that everytime someone honks the horn while he is driving, that they mean HIM. He looks all over for what could be wrong or what he did wrong..it is so funny.
EBJ: Looks like you don't need to come up with that story afterall!
That's as far as I got before the Big REVEAL..off to read the rest of the posts!
hi shirley!
Jennifer...that was inspired on your fathers part. lol
going to lay down gang...the new medicine is making me waaaaayyy too sleepy...i literally cannot stay awake zzzzzzzzzzz
Carol, you naughty girl! SHAME! LOL!!!
Lynn: I too have to crawl on the floor to find pills (actually they are usually standing by me so I have to DIVE for it before they do)!
Tink: Don't feel bad! We ALL have those moments! Glad you can laugh now! ; )
Bon'o...LOVED the new song titles! LOL!!!
Shirley: Thanks for another good breakfast! I laughed at you filling up your friend's car with balloons! How fun!
I had some "friends" TP my car while I was at a class at our local community college! It wouldn't have been so bad had it not been STORMING (THUNDER, LIGHTENING, AND POURING RAIN) while I was getting to my car! (We all know what a mess wet toilet paper is!)!!!
Jodi: I guess you're right about the "Karma" thing! LOL!!!
OK...I need to go...iteach's class just came in and I need to look like I am "working" here! LOL!!!
MEK: Another day off of the computer? I am pouting now. :(
GLYNIS: Come to AZ..we'll hit lower 90's this weekend.
WHABBEAR: My first time driving I sat behind the wheel..turned the key, started the car...and hit the gas. And sat there. The engine roaring. I kept stepping down on the gas. Nothing. Sat there. My instructor said in a very calm voice "Put your foot on the brake and move the gearshift to 'D'".
SHIRLEY: I didn't mean to miss you! Must have had my sunglasses on! Your blog yesterday was so good. Thanks again!
BON'O: GREAT list!! You goof!
BARB/WA: Happy 50!!! ;)
JODI: Don't forget more chocolate milk!! SWAK!
RGIRL: I missed your return! Great to see you back.
VIG: What kind of mischief are you up to today?
TINA: ???? :) ????
SCIRISH: Hope your back is getting better. I've been thinking about you!
DIANNE: When you're rested get back here! I described a sunrise yesterday and missed hearing about those "colors"!!
J/LIN: YOU TOO!!! LOL!
JENNIFER: Actually, maybe you should watch 'your' back..proof before posting Z..geez..
Oh yeah, Jennifer wanted to hear about my date Saturday night. lol
We have a marina on the island that is sort of the early morning gathering place for the locals with boats from our neighborhood. Not fancy, just a place to eat breakfast and hear about the weather, and a few fishing 'lies' from the day before. Well, I was in there on Saturday morning and ran into an old friend that used to fish tournaments with us, and we ate breakfast together. We played catch-up and he told me he had lost his wife 2 year ago. (I knew her, and a really lovely lady)
He had retired in his middle 50's, (now 57), sold his home in San Antonio, and now lives full time there.
Before I left the marina, he asked me to join him for dinner that night on his boat. We are talking about a very good looking and great all-around guy here. That tan didn't look bad too either. lol
I, of course, joined him. We went about a mile out into the bay and he cooked, we ate, we drank, we watched the sun go down.....
So there you have it
Thank you Zona for the welcome back.
I really need to stay off the telephone and computer and get myself to the grocery store.
It's good to see all of you again!!!

Ronnie:
YUMMY is RIGHT! I wish "I" could find a nice, all around good guy (sporting a tan) here! (Unfortunately, it just isn't going to happen in this town)! : (
I wonder what happened when the sun went down....; )
Bon'O,
"I am woman...hear me snore"???
I love your list of songs.
that was for jus/lin and she knows why....
LOL, Jennifer!!!
I am the biggest incurable romantic female you will ever meet!!
(He did call this morning to vist)
BTW, Jennifer, you gotta get in the sunshine to find a fisherman.
Maybe I should have taken you with me, just to sit at the marina.
Would somebody explain to Jennifer that "......" is not like the curtains blowing in the bedroom window of a 1950's movie. Bawhahaha
I really am going to the grocery store now.
Really
Really
Really, out of coffee for in the morning.
I don't really like fish...but I might be able to learn if I could find me a "catch"! LOL!!!
Hey...I'm an "incurable" romantic myself! ...sigh... If ONLY I could find a man in my life that was too (who would date me that is)! ; )
LOL @ thinking .... is curtains "blowing in the window"! LOL!!!
Good...he did call you today! WOOHOO!!!
See...I must live vicariously through others.... sigh....
KGirl LMAO @ 69
Ronnie That sounds so promising. Good for you!
I had a wonderful time with Custard. More than wonderful, actually. A few of you know some of the details. It was really hot (sexy), really romantic and really special. We miss each other alot and hope to meet again in April or May. I want to thank you all for your well wishes. I know you all are hoping this works out and so do I. It will not be easy being 500 miles apart but we will see what happens.
Congrats, J/L!!! I'm SO jealous of both Ronnie AND you!!!
Good for you!!!
I think I will use this avatar for a little while. It's Custard's and my initials (maiden name). One of the things we did besides visit our old schools, was go up a mountain road popular for teenagers to park and make out. Since we didn't do it together as teens, we did it now. There's also a big ponderosa pine that he can see from his home that he plans on carving our initials on as soon as the snow melts a little more. Sigh..... :)
Jennifer Just remember, Custard contacted me completely out of the blue after not seeing me for 40 years. You just never know when your world will change.
JUST LIN - Wow!!! What a romantic, sexy, special time you two had!!! I'm so happy for you!!
RONNIE - Welcome back - and congrats on your lovely date!!! Way to go girl! ;)
JENNIFER - Hang in there girl.....I'm sure you'll find your Mr. Right......right when you're least expecting it!!
TURTLE - Waving a wing @ you!!!
ZONA - Keep sharing your stories.....something tells me you have MORE!!!
sighs and keeps wishing my ms. right pops into my life.....lol
TURTLE - That reminds me - have you heard from your hot little number from Texas since you've been back?!!?
J/L your comments made me feel like I was reading a romantic novel.
I loved it.
It made me feel tingly inside.
ITEACH - I was thinking/feeling the same thing!!! BTW.....postcards are on the way!!! I had fun picking them out. I hope your students enjoy them. :)
JODI: Just for you. I drove an old Newport while I was in college. One Sat night, I was leaving a restaurant after a birthday party. I was showing off..and hit the gas to leave the parking lot. Boom. Hit something in the middle of the almost empty street. I tried to back up, couldn't. Tried to go forward..no way. I had run over the MEDIAN! The front of the car was on one side, the back on the other. I hit the gas in drive..clunk. Hit the gas in reverse..clunk. I could see headlights in the distance and was really starting to panic. Clunk. Clunk. Clunk. Clunk. Finally, I really punched it..ba-bump..over the median..and into oncoming traffic. Luckily, I made it back onto the right side of the street. My friends? They watched and LAUGHED!
BYW..this is a tame one. ;)
J/Lin: There's something special about parking on mountain roads, isn't there?
RGIRL: Sounds so romantic!
JENNIFER: He's out there, you'll see.
KGRL: 69 again? ;)
Speaking of romance, hubby just picked up the babysitter. We are going our for dinner to celebrate his b-day. His b-day is tomorrow. Then we will celebrate it again Sat. night with his brothers.
I can't wait to get them Jodi!
yes I hear from her quite often, but she needs to address some issues (don't we all...lol) and shes what 3000 miles away and half an ocean. I cannot do long distance......
Zona you are so darn cute!
Turtle, that would be hard to do with an ocean between you.
I can't go out to dinner until someone gets to 100.
Who will it be?
Jodi?
Zona?
Turtle?
Maybe me?
ITEACH: NO...YOU ARE!!
I'll send some postcards this weekend...how bout one of a Jackalope??
Tina?
I did it!!
That was for MEK.
Boy do I feel lucky!
ITEACH: Congrats on 100..I never even noticed it was that close or I would have marched with you!
Zona, that would be wonderful!
BTW what is a Jackasomething?
ITEACH: It's a special animal only photo-shopped in AZ! I promise not to send any rattlesnake postcards..I'd have to hold them by the edges anyway. Hate snakes!
Love is in the air every sight and every sound....
Whew hew it is hot in here! Ronnie and Justlin!!! Aychee chee! Happy for you both!
Well Carol you put the jinx on me today!
My friend and I went to do a food run for the foodbank. Something I have never done before. We get to QFC grocery make contact with Jessica in the produce dept. She tells us yes they have goodies for us, takes us to the back room and Holy Hell!! 425 lbs of produce and baked goods!
Well this is wonderful and thank god we took my friends Crown Victoria as it has a 5 body trunk!! We get everything loaded. We have baked goods and produce everywhere the back end is sagging, we get buckled in and the damn car won't start!!! Yes Carol I said the damn car wouldn't start!!! All I could do was LMAO and curse Carol!!
Turns out she has a bad dome light that has been staying on when it wants to and is running down the battery. We did finally get a jump start and got the food back to the food bank and got it stored. We had to leave the engine running tho. ROFLMAO
Attention all WA Owls please buy from QFC as they are very generous to all foodbanks!!!
400 freaking pounds! LOL
Good Evening everyone. Thanks for the well wishes. I think I am going to live. Not officially sure, but I am still upright :)
Tink, you are right. Karma is a bitch and no I didnt take it as being mean when you said it.
Way to go ronnie and j/l.
Going to go try to eat something. Hope everyone has a good night.
Loving your stories today.

Dinner is ready.....we're having meat loaf, smashed red potatoes, and beets (although I'm sure that I'm the only one that will eat those - every now and then I just get a craving!!!)
Everyone have a good night. I'll try to pop back in before I hit the hay.
Hey y'all! I haven't read comments yet, but I read the blog!
Carol, I am so sorry that you had to go through that horrible experience! I was just picturing it all in my mind! LOL
I guess you can laugh about it now!
OMG Jodi..That sounds yummy although I've always been scared of beets!
I would love some sweet garden peas please! haha
Pay close attention to RYAN at the VERY beginning of Idol! No spoiler..That's just all I'm going to say;)
DOLLY!! WOOHOO!
JODI: I actually like beets..now and then.
JOEY: HI!
Hi, Dianne (because I'm writing this in DIA, waiting for a connection to... you guessed it... Houston)!
OMG, I'm trying to not crack up here in the restaurant and cause people to stare at me! So many funny things since I checked in this morning...
The April Fool's pranks are fantastic... especially Jennifer's nasty Dad sending you kids out for nonexistent treats! NASTY!
Bon'O, RonnieGirl, and J/L: Fabulous song titles, and fabulous romantic stories! I LOVE this stuff... it speaks to the fundamentals that give life its zest!
Ronnie: I had exactly the same reaction: WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE SUN WENT DOWN? You're among friends here... :| :) :D
Linda: Wow! So it DID go really well with Custer!! Details, details... though it looks to me as though Turtle already has ONE detail nailed!
Turtle: May you find the girl of your dreams and engage in that particular activity with wild abandon!
Gawd, the blog is just so sexual today! Bon'O, the reason I mentioned your song titles in connection with Ronnie and Just Lin is that, well, I was thinking that where they are concerned, maybe you got just one of those titles mixed up.
I think the real title was actually "The first time ever I SAT ON your face". LOL!
Zona: ROFLMAO at getting stuck on a divider! It was a divider that did Huz in a couple of weeks ago!
Barb in WA: LMAO at your hubby saying "Why the fuck do you have the air conditioning on"!!!!
IBB and Nowmercy: Where are you?
ROFLMAO@Joey! Honey, you MIGHT want to read the comments!
Oh lord whabbear..Have I made a fool of myself?lol
Been pranked?!lol
I already had a myspace friend prank me last night(I was his first;)hehe)
I mean to be pranked! LMAO
He set his myspace page up to be BLANK! lol
Whabbear ROFLMBO @ the "real" song title.
OMG!!!!! I just read Carol's comment at 11:21! haha
I'm a SUCKER!!!!!!
I fell for it hook, line and sinker Carol!hehe
Thanks whabbear!:)
cpgem8 I forgot to compliment you on today's blog. Pure genius!
JUST_LIN
a high school friend of mine reunited with her first true love this past year. One lived in Florida and the other in Arkansas. They had not seen each other in 25 years. They are now making wedding plans. The twists in life can be amazing!
LYNN D
a five person body trunk. Woah.:0) I shiver at that description and pray that I am always on your good side.
JOEY
you got punked. I was like half way punked. I kept thinking could this happen to Carol? Hmmm...
I have been punking my friends today and called the most endearing names such as you jerk and told I'll hunt you down. That is just thrilling me to no end. That equals out to I got them good. My bad. ;)
LYNND: When we bought our new car, with remote start btw, the salesman opened the trunk and actually said, "You could fit three bodies in here..." ok...but why would we want to??

LOL - beets, I used to spit those back at my mom as a baby and I STILL don't like them!!!
Hi ladies and two gents. I just had to pop in again to check out the April Fools action. Good one, Carol. LMAO @ Joey (gotcha!). There must be something sexual in the cosmos these days, eh Whab?
Sorry I've been away so long, but I'm still running across town daily to sniff my sweet little grandson's head (seriously, does anything smell as sweet as a baby's head?), going to work, vising my Mom in the home... well, you get the idea. But I wanted to say thanks to all of you for all the lovely comments on my myspace pix of the baby.
Have a great day everyone (April 1 is almost over)
I was not able to watch Idol tonite so I am going on rickey.org.
Oh gosh, we are under a tornado watch, and the sky is exploding...
Wow...
I was thinking the same thing too about the 5 body trunk! And Zona, I think I would stay on the car dealer's good side...he may know things things from experience.
K'girl...if my cousin wasn't in a serious relationship, I'd consider hooking you up with her.... (however, she's in New York right now...but she has lived in many places (Nepal, Japan, etc.)!
I hope we both can find the right Mr & Ms that will deserve us! (I understand about the whole "ocean thing" too...Try a whole other COUNTRY)!!! : (
Zona, I LOVE your "driving" mishaps! (Remind me if we ever meet...that "I'll" do the driving)! ; )
Good to see MEK and Joey posting!
Joey, I was very worried about your comment yesterday. Hope you are feeling better! HUGS to you!
Whabbear...My dad does have an evil sense of humor at times. However, he would rather show the world his "Ward Clever" side instead of his "Archy Bunker" side that, we his family, see! LOL!
Jodi: I remember trying beets as a kid and I was disappointed that they didn't make me hyper like they did for Mrs. Howl on Gilligan's Island (remember when they found all those radio active produce (or seeds...?)...it's been a couple of decades...
OK...need to get laundry put away and check over Katie's homework.
TTYL!!
Hey cg glad you stopped by, and you are right nothing like the smell of a baby. Enjoy!!

I was reading some posts and forgive me, but if y'all are related or friends, I totally forgot! haha
JoHoey....

Hey IBB!:)
I'm about to watch Oprah's Big Give from Sunday! I"m a couple days behind on EVERYTHING:(
and getting sleepier by the minute haha
Hope you're well! Wished I could stay around and ramble with ya;)haha
ahummmmm I meant IBHO!lmao
OMG local fox news just said Elliot Yamin's(IDOL)mom died!:( so sad!
Oh, poop, Joey you make me laugh!!!
Hubby and I had a great dinner and it was so relaxing.
The boys are in bed sleeping, but not Carolyn.
Oh, no, she is being very stubborn.
So now she is in her crib crying.
I could never let the boys cry, but I can with Carolyn.
Isn't that terrible?!
Dean had no problem letting the boys cry in the crib, but he will not let Carolyn cry!
In fact he just ran to her room to rock her again to sleep.
So I'm sitting here in my nightie with the owls.
iteach... there is just something about momma's and their boys... and daddy's and their girls...
just can't change that!!!!
Hi everyone!
If you want a laugh, check out this video with Ellen D. It's so funny!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHiqVygN-w0
Settling in for IDOL~~Any more non-spoiler tips?
EBJ~~Is that bit the funniest Ellen vid? Saw it a couple weeks ago, watched 3 times, laughing harder each time!
Glad y'all liked the song titles.
Hi Bono,
Tonight was the first time I've seen that Ellen video. My mom sent it to men, and it just cracked me up!
Hey IBB!! Glad to "see you"!
Joey: iteach and I work at the same school. She is a teacher and I am an aide. I also am the technology "assistant" (I moved up from "tech rep" to "assistant" this year)! So, I help out around the school (and also in iteach's room). Today her class came into the computer lab (where my desk and computer are)! That's were I "escape" to when I don't have anything to do (or just want to "hide")!
We "basically" live in the same town. Our school is in Rock Falls (which is the town iteach lives in). I live in the "twin city" of Sterling (which is just across the Rock River). Most people consider them the same town (as it is a local call to phone Rock Falls from Sterling and visa versa).
There...I bet you are as confused as ever! LOL!
We're not "related" but have the same name (and many of the same "quirks")!
EBJ and Bono - I actually saw the Ellen show the day she had that chair on there - the next day, she had three audience people have to watch the show in those chairs - HILARIOUS!!!!!!
Bono- won't spoil it for you - but there were a few REALLY good performances and the show runs late...
Now - I have to switch to Biggest Loser and do the back and forth between that and DWTS...
Jennifer - waving hi!!
Hey, IBB - how goes it??!!
Iteach - glad dinner went well.
Tinka - howdy, just because!!
MEK!
Were you AMAZED at the Bachelor last night?
We counted about 7 "amazings" in about a 2 minute span.
There are too many to count in the whole hour!
LOL, on Biggest Loser - someone's Grandmother apparently used to live in Australia - and the gal asked her - how did you ever leave here? and her response was, "Can you imagine what I thought when I got to Arizona?"
AND - I can SOOOOOOOO relate to that statement - to leave my beautiful Colorado for THIS!!! too funny.....
EBJ - I am not watching this season of the Bachelor - sorry - but I'm sure there were a million "amazing"!! I read somewhere that he needs to marry an american to live here - that pissed me off.. and - they never stay with who they picked.. so, I have actually given up a vise!!
:-)
mek is watching TV, she is flipping so I am sure she is just to occupied to be worrying about a march!
I just got done watching Idol on rickey.org...
I have on full gear!
Including my strapless bra, as I don't want any pulling on my bra strap...
Ready!!!!
Oh I forgot my helmet, brb...
LOL, cpgem - I'm RIGHT here!!!
so, hold on - I'm just waiting for the others to jump out!!!
I'll wait for you!! NOT
