In my youth, the older generation thought we were all going to Hell because we loved Elvis. He was actually banned from all the Victoria radio stations. He wasn't played for years. I always have the country station on in my car. The radio is rarely on in my house. Either the computer or the Television is on.

Good Mornin' Hooters! Belated thanks to Shirley for the LOLs yesterday. The only thing more perfect than Martha is Martha-messes-up!
LynnD~~To say I love your TOTD would be an understatement. I can almost hear VIG saying "OMG, don't get Bon'O started!!" I've been sharing 'The Gospel According to Mr. Mraz' with her for months. Truth time, I really don't care for his version of 'Summer Breeze' but love everything else he's done. Even though they didn't really fit with my Summer Song Playlist, I had to have his songs in there, and his cd is almost always on when I'm in my car. If you don't care for his music, just read some of his lyrics....what a wordsmith and poet! A little Mr. A-Z trivia:
*He writes all his own stuff, but that's only the beginning. His blogs can be alternately pensive or hysterical. One of the songs on his cd, Love For A Child, is guaranteed to bring a tear or two.
*The pic of him on my MS Profile was taken in his own avacado orchard. YES, he's an avacado farmer (just outside San Diego). He's also quite a photographer.
*He's quickly moving from his 'mis-spent youth' to being a vegan/raw food geek and is a real advocate for saving the planet. Quite a guy!
Zona - I was so excited about your birthday I didn't sleep well. I kept checking the clock so I would be up first. Next year I am not going to do that.
I loved our long, long, phone call last night. Anyway at seven I put the 'fur babies' in their crates with their toys. They didn't like that but I got two more hours of sleep.
I hope you are sleeping now. Call me this afternoon but only if you can fit the call in. I will be thinking of you all day.

Lynn D, I haven't heard Jason before but he has a very nice soothing voice. I have only been listening to the oldies station too, but they just recently changed their format and now we have no oldies station locally. Of course it is really a relative thing, because there is a station that plays 80s music and some people call that the oldies station. LOL (really showing my age here)
My definition of oldies is 'really old' like 50s & 60s. We even had a station that played 40s music that I liked a lot. They played a lot of Sinatra.

Good Afternoon everyone! You are all not going to believe this but in our paper yesterday it was showing "special" food for the DNC next week and it showed chocolate covered fried bacon and said it was usually quite a hit when sold at other places. MO: You didn't tell us they dip your ass in chocolate too!! I wonder if they will have that at the Republican Convention next month in MN too?
We have some very famous people coming here next week and our newspaper is thick with all the "happenings" and information about security,riot rules (that they are hoping won't happen), places to eat, how to get tickets for the Obama speech, etc. One guy made dinner reservations under different last names at some of the top places downtown and then went on Ebay to try and sell the reservations. He got caught! It will be an interesting week.

I don't really listen much to the radio..but I still watch MTV now and again in order to TRY and stay in touch with new music. It has been a very long week since Laurie's surgery, and I must apologize for not being here every day!

This will be brief, (by my usual standards) I am very tired and Laurie actually got out of the house today, to Kaiser for bloodwork, and then with her Respite worker for a couple of hours and I think I have about a half hour before they come home!
I have not had a chance to read everything Blogged and posted for the past three days, so I can't comment on anything particular, but I will try to catch up, I promise!
Tomorrow both Laurie and I have MORE Dr appt's!! Kaiser should give us our own parking spot! They will be checking her pacemaker and removing the dressing, and I need to have my BP checked and other things. I think I am just worn out, but, like the Engergizer Bunny, I must contine on!
I switched my Avatar again to both Laurie and myself, taken at the hospital right before we checked out!

Sacbarb the oldies I listen to are mostly 60's and 70's. It just seems so much music has gone down hill since them.

I saw something kind of interesting today. You know how venders set up tents on busy street corners for Super Bowl or Playoff or World Series items. They sell shirts, hats, etc. Well today I was driving down a very busy street and saw one of those tents and looked to see what it was for and it was selling Obama shirts and Democrat items. I would imagine they will really be selling on the corners after the VP is announced tomorrow and they can make the real buttons, etc. You guys better be watching for me on TV next week doing something at the convention. Maybe I will just march carrying an owl sign so I will stand out to all of you!
