Who is that Lady?

by Ronnie

It has finally happened.....my Mother lives in my mirror.

I was in my doctor's office the other day and asked him about these little brown dots on my hands, and he said these things should be expected , as WE grow older. Seems that they are called 'liver spots'. WTH? On closer inspection, these are not my hands at all, but those of my Mother. What kind of 'Quack' is this, my liver is not in my hands!

So I return home and run to my mirror, this would be the high-powered magnifying one in my bathroom. Lo and behold, here is my Mother's face staring back at me. Now don't get me wrong, I loved my Mother so very much, but I really don't think she needs to be hanging out in my mirror. I see she has a puppet friend with her named, Howdy Doody, who has two little lines from the side of his lips heading toward his chin. What's going on here, and when did all this happen?

Upon further examination, just where did this 'wild hair' on my chin come from, it wasn't there yesterday? I guess Grizzly Adams will be showing up next. It's probably time to attach a tweezers to a chain and hook it through a belt loop for these kind of emergency's, while I'm out and about.

To put it all in a nutshell, there's a party of old people going on in my mirror, and the YOUNG Ms. Ronnie was not invited. I pluck, I wax, I moisturize, I mud-pack, I dye, and look again. I'm still not there. Maybe a little make-up will help, but am I supposed to put it on my hands too? By the way, I won't even discuss little pot-belly's, trying on bathing suits, or the beginnings of a double chin... Mmmmmk?

I've always taken good care of my body, but I realize, this is just a preview of the lovely things yet to come. Actually, not too bad, considering the alternative, for I have laughed, and played in the glorious sunshine for many years, with no regrets. All and all, I have had the richest of treasures by earning these graying hairs and wrinkles, and smiling all the way to my grave someday.

I now know why my Mother called her make-up bag, her 'Bag Of Tricks".

What's going on in YOUR mirror, and how do you contend with it?

Wishing my friends the happiest of days, as I begin removing mirrors around my home.

Good morning and congrats on 1st Lynn D. I look forward to reading your post, which I'm sure will be another comedic masterpiece.

Good morning Jodi! I'm glad you beat Zona...I think. Lol!!

Ronnie what a great blog! Loved the pictures!

Just last week I was rubbing my chin and felt something strange. I thought WTH? So I got my little mirror out to look. Low and behold it was a chin hair. That sucker was about two inches long! Where the hell did that come from?

I don't spend a lot of time admiring myself in the mirror and I know my eyes are bad but you would think I would have spotted a bungee cord growing out of my chin. Needless to say it wasn't there very long. I also made quick work of another one that was attempting to overtake my chin. Where can I get one of those magnified mirrors? Lol!

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Lynn, Congrats on First!

Hi Jodi! Saw your post from last night...you and Mek were watching the Notebook. So was I!!! I love, love Gena Rowlands. I was never able to watch that movie all the way through. Interruptions all the time. I'll watch any movie the she is in.

Ronnie, Great blog! Luckily my hands still look good, but, I do have a couple of chin hairs that bother me. Thankfully, if you can say that, they have turned white, so only I can tell they are there.
One of my big issue's is, my eyelashes! Those suckers are not as long as they used to be! Why??? Even mascara is a pain in the but to put on now. They used to be long enough that I could use the curler on them. Now they don't even come close to the damn thing!

My whole family started seeing gray hair in our late 20's. One or two was ok, but I had to use color in my early 40's! That is just BS!!!!

The only part of me that has not changed..is my FEET!!! I still like my feet! My toes are perfect in length and rather cute! ha!

Waving HI!! HI!!! to all!

Good Morning Owls!

Ronnie: Your blog is so funny and well written! Also sooo true! :) I have a couple of chin hairs I'm always looking for when I peek in the mirror. I also have one on my forehead that I can never find, but my hairstylist always can. LOL!

Birdee: I started seeing gray in my late 20's too. Thank God for hair color! :)

Waving HI to Lynn, Jodi, Shirley !

Hope today is the start of a great week for everyone!

Ok I am back!

First of all Ronnie I suggest you get rid of the magnifying mirror! I will not own one, I refuse! I rather like the hazy picture I see in the mirror before I put my glasses on in the morning.

I too have the AGE spots (not liver, why the hell they call them liver mystifies me) on my hands. Just a couple I am actually calling them my midlife beauty marks. Ha!

I have watched some wrinkles appear and they don't bother me as much as the pores that are starting to look like craters!!! I can see them without my glasses and this just bugs the holy heck out of me! I am going to try a new face wash, it claimmmms to reduce pore size. Oh and I am so lucky that I have pimples still appearing also. There is just something so damn wrong about acne and wrinkles at the same time!

I too have the odd jaw hair and now I see dark wirey ones on my upper lip. This is unacceptable! Everyone keeps telling me that the best thing about peri menopause and menopause is that body hairs gets lighter and lighter. NOT on me it just shows up in more interesting places. My upper lip, my eyebrows grow out of control and what the hell is with the boob whiskers?????? I try to pull them out as soon as they pop up but crap, they come back quite fast! I guess I should put my glasses on when I hunt for them. Mr. Lynn D calls them dental floss. How attractive is that? I refuse to go in and ask for a boob wax!

As for the rest I have to stay on top of my feet all the time (no pun intended) The calluses seem to form overnight and oh yeah hair on the toes and upper arch too.

The fact that I see myself in my Aunts body parts are starting to scare me. I don't have Mom to compare too. I see the under arm sag taking over I could shelter a whole flock of owls under there and my legs are starting to show girth, kind of like my butt is settling into my thighs. Scary!

Grey hair I have had since my twenties and hair dye takes care of the rest and I just refuse to look anywhere else to see if it is turning grey also.

But all in all I will take what I have and just be happy that my hairy old self is still mobile and somewhat healthy.

I guess I better put my damn glasses on and look in the mirror. That owl screech you hear is me when I turn the light on to see what is really happening on my face!

Ronnie- such a great blog and oh so sadly true. I don't have the liver spots yet, but that chin hair thing sure drives me nuts!

One hair that I spar with constantly. I watch for it and nothing, then I don't look one day and there it is! We do battle like its a game to see who wins.

I am delighted to know that I am not the only one. Oh, and the pimples? WTF is up with that??? I have more zits now that I am in my late 40's then I did when I was a teenager!

Have a good happy day everyone.

Good Morning Goldie -
Fantastic blog today Ronnie - You are quite the comedienne. Of course I always knew that.
I remember exactly the day I turned into my mother. It was a summer day in 1997. I was getting my hair coloured. I was wrapped in their brown cape wearing a little plastic cap. I looked in the mirror and I didn't notice anything. Then I looked in another mirror behind and across the room from me. So help me God, it was my mother in that mirror. Not a person who looked like my mother but I thought it was my mom. I don't know why the reflected picture showed the similarity so much more distinctively but it did. It actually shocked me. Ron was waiting for me at the time and he kept checking back to see if I was finished. I hadn't even told him what I saw. The first thing he said to me was, "I never noticed before how much you look like your mom". What a revelation that day was! Since then I have just accepted it as truth when people say. "You look so much like your mother." Actually I think she looks pretty good for 96 3/4. Her hands actually look better than mine because I got arthritis before she did. She has always had beautiful hands. I saw my first grey hair when I was 30 and went blond from that day on. I was blond the first 8 years of my life so I think that's my birth right. I go for a chin, eyebrow and lip wax procedure every few weeks. My only claim to fame is my eyelashes. They are long like my Dad's and have stayed that way. I get them dyed every few weeks so that I don't have to use mascara. I guess we all have to have some asset from our youth to cling to. As the wise people say "Getting old sure beats the alternative".

Ronnie, funny, funny blog!! I, too, see my Mom in the mirror, only her face is a little more "filled out" in my mirror! I haven't found a chin hair yet but I keep looking--I'm sure I won't be spared! My biggest complaint is my baggy, saggy skin under my eyes. I'm an eye rubber so it's all my fault but they look so ugly. Yuck.

Congrats on first, Lynn! I'm still laughing at your post. LOL@dental floss!

Good morning lynnd (congrats on first!!), jodi, shirley, birdee, amicus, tinkatia, goldie, sandie, and mek!! Hello to all who fly in after me!

I think there is a reason why our eyesight gets worse as we get older, God made it this way so we can't see our bodies aging!! I hate the wrinkles on my face, but nothing takes them away. I was thinking of using a cream that said immediate results!! I found out that is is a little abrasive on the skin. The skin swells and it looks like the wrinkles are lessened. I don't know about that ~ just sounds wrong. But, as Tinka said, it beats the alternative!!
Thank you for this blog, Ronnie!!

Hi Everyone!

Congrats on first Lynn!

Ronnie: What is going on in my mirror? Sounds like the exact same thing that is going on in yours. Of course, I don't see YOUR mother. I see mine. LOL!

But, like yesterday's blog said, "I am what I am."

So tired from my weekend at the lodge. It was a wonderful trip, but I don't feel refreshed like I had hoped. I feel old.
At least the feeling matches the look today.

Tinkatia said...

Mek - I have the DVD "The Notebook". I don't know how many times I have watched it. Not only are Gena Rowlands and James Garner great in it but so are Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as Allie and Noah. I love the ending where for a few minutes you aren't sure which one Allie picks. It is delightful and yet so sad and touching.

Tinkatia said...

Our weather has turned just gorgeous today. Yesterday at our little party for Naomi the clouds rolled in and the thunder started. It didn't ruin the fun however. It was really too hot just an hour before. Her birthday was really in June but this was an extra one for people who couldn't attend the party on her birthday.

DreamaTexas said...

Ronnie your blog is very amusing and so truthful for us all!
I use a bag of tricks. I'm not going to turn 21 again but it helps a little.
Of course our eating and exercise habits do help because our body starts aging on the inside first. Not many people want to give up their favorite foods and do pilates or go to the gym every day. Blah! I exercise 2 X a week. I won't lie!
I have night creams with peptides. I do a mud mask once a week to tighten my pores. I use fake tanning lotions and don't bask in the sun any more.
I have this great hand softener that also fades freckles. It is called Dermasil. My hands feel baby soft now. This stuff really works for $12. I use a hot oil conditioner for my hair once a week to prevent split ends.I use a moisturizing shampoo and a volumizing conditioner. I only use Samy hair spray because it has no alcohol to dry hair out and its like a magical hair spray. It never gets sticky and you can redo your hair over and over during the day.
Some of you mentioned pimples. That is caused by hormones or buy eating fried foods. Chocolate makes me break out but I eat it anyway. I just dot a pimple cream on to dry it up. :0)
I'm very careful about coloring my hair. I use the amonia free products because the harsh ones will cause breakage. What I don't learn from my sister then I read in the magazines.
Mo was asking me about this Chillow pillow that I bought. Some of you might like to have one. It stays cool naturally and helps with hot flashes while you sleep or outdoors on hot days use it underneath you to cool you down. I read that NASA invented the technology to help their astronauts stay cool. The better Chillow is $44. It stays cool for 8 hours. The thinner cheaper Chillow stays cool for 3 hours.

LynnD Congrats on first. I don't see any "girth" on those long skinny legs of yours. LMAO!

Ronnie Your blog was wonderful! I really, really enjoyed it. I have submitted a similar one but yours is so much better I think I will ask Carol to ignore mine. It isn't nearly as well written or funny. Boy, I've enjoyed the laughs this morning!

I too have a battle with chin hairs. Some are black and some are white. I hate to feel the "stubble" when they are growing back in. There is an area of my body with the opposite problem. Custard and I have christened it with an Indian name: Balding Beaver. Bwahahaha!!!!

I do not take care of my body as well as I should. I really need to moisturize more. I have no age spots on my hands yet. Custard was looking at them one day and said my hands looked like those of a 13 yr old. He was delirious at the time. LOL

Tinkatia said...

I had better get to work. As usual I am procrastinating. It's so easy to do when there isn't a deadline. Maybe I will work on the basement today. My former mother-in-law who was also a teacher told me that for years after she retired she would get into the 'back to school' mood and start sorting boxes and organizing. I find I do the same. About the middle of August I start rearranging things. I wonder if all retired teachers do that.

Funny, we still see the youth in each other. I guess my hands are okay; it's the rest of me that looks like crap! Oh, I won't even discuss my horrible feet! LOL

Good Afternoon

Ronnie, your blog made me laugh and brought back some memories when I use to work. The shop manager would come in and talk to us gals and he was older. We got on the subject of age and he said, well shit I was brushing my teeth this one morning and all of a sudden my DAD was there staring at me. He said he jumped back and fell in the tub. LOL, It was very funny. So every time he looks in the mirror he says hello to his Dad.

I understand about the pimples I thought I was the only one who still got them, I'm glad I'm not. I use daily the Neutrogena face wash actually twice a day, it helps a lot I also had black heads, which I do not have no more NONE, GONE, from the Neutrogena. What works great for pimples is Clinique acne spot treatment GREAT STUFF dries those zits in 2 days!!!! Thats all I use on my face. Thanks to my sister. YEAH for her.

I have always looked like my mom since day 1, thats what everyone tells me. I didn't see it growing up as a child, but she brought out old pictures of herself when I was in 8th grade and the pictures were of her 8th grade graduation and YES I did see how I looked like her.

The older I get the more I look and act like her, its funny, I say to myself I hear my mother, (like yelling at the kids, talking with friends, even when I smoked I smoked like her LOL).

I do not have the chin hairs yet, my mom don't either shes 66, I don't even see any age spots on her hands. My mom looks very good for her age. When I had Anthony in 1995 they thought she was my sister, she was in better health, could walk, no oxygen. She hardly has any wrinkles at all. I'm 42 I don't have 1 wrinkle yet. I do color my hair, my sister does my hair and she does tell me I have quite a few grey hair. But I asked my dermatologist about the wrinkle thing, and he said people who have dry skin wrinkle faster, people with oily skin, don't get that many wrinkles, yes my mom and I have very oily skin and so does my sister. I mean at the end the day you can fry an egg on my face thats how oily my skin is. I know TMI.

I see pictures of my grandmother and we all look like her, she was a very pretty woman, and very loving. When John and I were engaged, he said well I know you'll always be beautiful, I seen pictures of your grandmother, and I see your mother (she was 44 at the time). I know what I have to look forward too. When a girl is told that at 19 it made me feel good. John will come home from work each day and will say well how are the most two beautiful women today????? Then when my sisters here he says Boy how Lucky can a man get with 3 beautiful Women here. Hes a very special man. He loves me when I'm thin, or fat. Right now I'm fat LOL

Yesterday I found out some disturbing news in regards to my neighbor. Her sister who was 36 years old died, she left two daughters 17 and 9, very, sad.

Dreama.....and all her helpful hints (hey girl just wait)
Shirley.......having Bungee Cords on her chin
Donna.......seeing her Mom in the mirror too
Goldie.......I thought zits were supposed to stop when girls started
. having sex. (must be an old wives tale)
MEK.........Looking like your Mother is great, just hate the brown dots, though.
Amicus.....a wild hair on your forehead?
Tink..........gotta love those wax jobs every two or three weeks
Sandie.....that chin hair is on it's way, and it'll be in the overnight
delivery.
R/Eve...... You might want to get in line for your pick-up with Sandie.

Just a thought........
Why is it that when men age, they look distinguished, and women just look old? NOT FAIR AT ALL.

Has anyone ever tried the Preparation H mask on your face to conceal wrinkles? Well, all it does is puff your face up so you look like you gained 15 lbs. .......but the wrinkles ARE gone. Best put that stuff where it belongs, girls.

Renee Eve said...

Thanks Ronnie, Now I'll be hunting for the chin hairs. I know my mother in law has them, she complains all the time about them. I agree with you I think men look very distinguished when they age I love my husbands grey hair, what little he has left and hes only 42. My FIL colors his hair he uses Just For Men, It does look FAKE. He looks better with his grey hair, I told him that. But he likes to color it.

My MIL looks just like her mother also. I saw a picture of Johns grandmother and I said to my MIL, MOM where was this picture taken of you??? She said thats my MOTHER!!! I said oh, you look just like her, I never met my MIL's parents they died before I met John. I did know his fathers parents, I loved them. She always wanted to feed me, I'm like I don't need to eat. She made the best salad dressing right there on your salad, red wine vineager, oil and sugar. I can't even get it to taste like hers in a cup. LOL

Ronnie: It really is good to know that we're not alone in this advancing age thing. I thought I was the only one, except for my mom and one friend, who had a daily battle with the chin hairs. Maybe we're just the only ones who will admit it! That is, until I met all of you! :)

Those of you middle-agers with acne? I'm part of that club too. It's just not fair to still have zits in your 40s!

I recently started going to a Dermatologist and she told me I am starting to have signs of Rosacea. Started me on a cream called Finacea. I have seen a slight improvement in the acne and redness since I've been using it. She told me there was nothing she could do about the age spots on my face (due to sun damage years ago), so I guess I'll live with that.

I remember my grandma used to hold my hands and tell me how pretty they were, because her hands were so wrinkled, boney, veiny, and spotted. I notice my mom's hands starting to look a lot like my grandma's and my hands are well on their way. I see now why that bothered Grandma so much.

LynnD: I do hope I never experience the boob whiskers. That is something I haven't even heard about!

I agree with you about knowing All the 'girls' go through this. And you're right, nobody talks about it, but you can always count on our hooter friends for honesty and frankness, with a sense of humor thrown in for good measure.

Sounds like you're getting your blemishes under control, good for you. Just think, when this little battle is over, it'll probably be time for the Howdy Doody chin.

What's that expression?
Shizzz happens!!

I'm so glad you have joined our feathered family, you're a Hoot.

Tinka Thank you passing the 69 along to me. Balding Beaver thanks you, also. LOL

Thanks for the Preparation H tip, ronnie!

bon'o: Sorry about you having jury duty. Unless that's something you like to do. I HATE IT! I've been called so many times for it that there is no way it's random. If I were THAT lucky, I would've won the lottery by now!
My husband has always wanted to be summoned for jury duty and never has.

I wonder what Joey and Whabbear think of today's blog and comments. I keep thinking of them as I read all this stuff. LOL! I bet they're so glad they're not women!!!!

hartldo said...

Awwww ronnie, I'm glad I joined this family too. I love it here!
BTW, I already DO have the Howdy Doody chin. My daughter calls those lines "parenthesis". I think she saw it on a commercial.

Thank you Just_Lin, bon'o & Tinka for the good thoughts and prayers for my friend Marilyn and her son.

Hello...I have GREAT news about Tammy!! We finally heard from the doctor that the pathology report shows NO CANCER CELLS!! She goes next Monday to get her stitches out and he will talk more to her then but he "just wanted her to know". The relief is overwhelming right now. Tammy is still in a lot of pain and not feeling well but I know this at least will put her mind at rest. She told me it makes the pain "not quite as bad".

I again want to thank each and everyone of you for all the prayers, candles, hugs, thoughts, concerns and love during this difficult time. You have all been so great and I can't even begin to tell you how much each and everyone means to me on this blog!

We will now go on to the next process with Tammy but at least it will be without the worry. Thank you again so much! Love, Dianne

Just_Lin said...

Hart Whabby and Joey probably don't worry about their boob hairs. LMAO!

hartldo said...

No cancer cells for Tammy! WHEW! Sigh of relief!!!!!!

Tink~~Every year from the first day of first grade, I've had to have everything clean and fresh, tidy and new each September. I'm very much a 'nester', but was also a teacher (by college degree and later by teaching night school at Seattle Community College), so I think further research is in order. :o)

Donna~~I, too, have been called WAY too many times for Jury Duty. Have always been released before serving since I moved down here, though (twice) and worked in law enforcement. I'm hoping, though retired now, that it'll still get me off. I was a jury foreman once and that was plenty for a lifetime!

Still doing the Happy Dance for Tammy and Dianne!

So, so happy about Tammy's results.
I'm sure she's still very uncomfortable, but her mind is at peace and free from worry. Dianne, it's going to be all okay, Mama, your prayers were answered.

Donna~I say evening prayers every night and will include your friend Marilyn and her son, Kenny this evening.

hartldo said...

Thank you Ronnie. I appreciate your prayers for my friend and her son. Their family has been through too much!

I use some of the same products you do. Elizabeth Ardens. Good Night's Sleep, is really a good one.

I had to scroll back down there to see if I really saw what you wrote, correctly. OMG...A thin graying critter. (I never would have guessed) LOL

Thank you again for all the great comments, everyone. Actually, I feel like I have just taken a class called:

"Everything you always wanted to know about the female aging process, but were afraid to ask."

bbl...gonna go see if something needs waxing.

J/L & Donna~~I'm actually surprised that our Bear has not yet flown in to discuss the many virtues of boob hair!

Ronnie~~Admission: I have indeed used a dab of Preparation H on the delicate under-eye/over-the-cheekbone skin after a major allergy attack. It really does help after the puffy allergy eyes.

Favorite product (I bet Zona knows what's coming here, as I've suggested it to her for cooling off in the dry Arizona heat):

Focus 21 SEAPLASMA Hair & Skin Moisturizer --it's an oh, so refreshing fine mist spray for the entire body to attract moisture in the air and prevent those dastardly free-radicals.

She always comments on my skin and says I look young:) That makes me feel good! I fear that a grey hair is gonna pop up somewhere lol

I began losing my hair at age 18(hereditary) and so just decided to go with the flow, the older I've gotten! I keep it shaved really low most of the time!

Your blog was very funny, true and well written!! Thanks for writing it Ronnie!!

Dianne - I read the letter from Tammy before I got on the blog. It was so nice of her to write. What wonderful news. We need some good news these days.

Bonnie - I thought you were a teacher but I wasn't sure. Now we have to see if people other than teachers get their nests in order in September. Then we will know it is a 'nesting thing' rather than a 'teacher thing'.

Just-Lin - You are welcome. You can tell Custard I gave it to you.

Joey - Did you mean 'moob' hair or was that a typo? Maybe 'moob' is a word I don't know.

Mary - We use the same cosmetics.

OMG more bad news..I just saw on tv that a man was speeding taking his girlfriend's toy poodle to the vet because she was choking, and the officer held them up for 20 mins. and said "It's just a dog..you can get another one"!! WOW, what has the world come to!? SO insensitive!

Renee Eve said...

Donna, Sending out prayers for Kenny and his family.

With all this bad news as Tinka said its terrible, everytime, I turn around something is happening. Life is so SHORT, you don't really know how short it is. I will admitt sometimes I can be mean especially if someone hurts my children, or me. But the more I hear about bad things, I'm trying to be more forgiving and looking at situations differently. I wish I could me more like my husband, he does not let nothing bother him. But I do notice that with boys. When my son of course ANTHONY, LOL, got in a fight at school, (and it was his friend, so I thought) the principal called me and told me what happened and told me by the time they left his office they were best buddies again. Then he proceeds to tell me boys are like that, its the girls that don't make up and hold grudges, he said when he went to his 20 year class reunion there were still 2 girls that got into a fight in 3rd grade that still did not talk to each other. Hes a nice principal. The kids Love him and so do the parents. But what he said is true. Then I'll question my sons if they go to someones house about their house?? you know what women want to know, LOL their like I don't know I don't look at that stuff. Boys and Girls so different, like Men and Women.

Dianne, I'm so happy for your family. At least some good news.

JoeyfromSC said...

and hartldo, you're SO right..I'm glad I am not a woman..WAY too much work! haha

Renee Eve said...

Joey, I seen that too, how mean, he said you can always get another dog. Can you believe that???? Then another statement he said I don't care about your dog!!!! He was very insensitive.

Tinka, over the Labor Day weekend here, I do clean out draws, closets, and put all the boys new school clothes away and either give the old ones away or donate them. I love doing that for the boys, they help me too, they love new clothes, we are going this week for all their school clothes, the older they get the more NAME BRAND they want.

HI GUYS! Hope everyone is having a nice afternoon..or evening...dang I'm late today.

RONNIE: Your blog was priceless, and so true!! I was always told I looked like my mom...but now I LOOK LIKE MY MOM!! I don't know when this happened either. I think my worst enemy is gravity...though I try to fight against it...parts of me just keep sagging and sagging. I toyed around with making a bra out of bungee cords..but I know the time will come when I just throw one boob over each shoulder and get it over with.

I have the little spots on my hand too..but only the right one..I don't know why that is. I'm pretty sure both hands are the same age. ;)

I think all the sagging is another reason I hate the AZ heat...there are so many more crevices to try and keep cool. ;)

LOVED your blog RONNIE...LOVED IT!!

LYNND: Congrats on FIRST..did anyone ever point out that your owl has dancer's legs?? Do you tap?? ;)

JODI: ROFLMAO!!!! You are such a goof...SWAK!

BIRDEE: ME TOO!!! LOL

LYNND (again): OMG!! LOL @ your entire post!!!

GOLDIE: I have a sparring partner too..but we won't go there...;)

TINKA: I've found grey hairs too...but I just let them be...I refuse to fight...lol...I can remember when I was blonde..don't know when my hair turned brown. I'm not happy about that either. But you're right, it's better than the alternative. :)

MEK: I am starting to sound like my mom. My sister tells me I've even got her tone and inflection..that's just scary!

GMOSES: I don't have the wrinkles under my eyes so much as the dark circles. Next will be bags. Then suitcases.... ;)

J/LIN: OMG!

TINA: You do not have age spots...they're experience marks. ;)

Bon'O said...

Good News: YAY!! Just called the Jury Duty recording number for tomorrow. All cases resolved, no need to appear. I'm off the hook and out of the selection pool for a while!!

Bad News: While on the phone listening to the recording, noticed the full-screen Emergency Weather Broadcast Alert for Severe Thunderstorm Warning for at least the next hour. Better sign off.

Zona~~Are you more often a passenger than a driver? That might explain the right-hand only brown spots. Mine are mostly on the inside of my forearms--from tanning beds decades ago.

BBL, I hope. If not, thanks again Ronnie for the yuks!

Right now I am soo mad at myself. I am outside typing away with my cam corder facing our apple orchard. I was sure it was on. We have been watching huge bucks eating the apples in the last few evenings and decided to try and catch them on camera. LYNN- I think shaving those boobie whiskers might be less painful then plucking, just saying....

Ok, you know when you do something really stupid you want to scream?? I did it. I have been looking every where for my favorite tank top. Nowhere to be found. Driving me nuts. Nice little cotton tshirt type tank.

Well lo and behold I found it today. In the dry cleaning I picked up. I pain $7.65 to have it cleaned!!! UGH

RONNIEE...awesome bloggy! So funny, yet so sad!!! I love the expression "mirror mirror on the wall, I have become my mother afterall!"

When I was younger, I looked just like my dad. But as I have aged (and not so gracefully!!)I see my mom more often then not starring back at me in the mirror! And not only am I looking like her, I have begun using the same sayings she did!

Yep, I have all the same stuff growing out of weird places, wrinkles appearing and let's not even get into the grey hair discussion!! One positive is that I have to shave my legs much less then I used to! I have very few hairs on my legs the last couple of years, while before I had to shave almmost everyday!!

The comments you all have posted had me wish I was wearing NASA diapers!! Soooooo fricking funny!!

Mary/MI said...

Goldie, you reminded of what happened this weekend. Maybe you won't feel so stupid.
I attended a large VFW District meeting. We went through a serving line for lunch. I was at the tail end. As I was about done filling my plate a sweet old later came rushing to the table with a scrumptious hot casserole. I took a spoonful as did the last of the line. My table mate was behind me. She came back to our table laughing her head off. The little old lady had grabbed her half eaten casserole and sped off. Seems she was at the wrong meeting!
I felt so bad for eating it! It was good though lol!

Today was the first day of school for my four kids.....two 8th graders, a junior in High School (driving!), and a Principal! All I did was show up at school for a half hour and ended up taking work home with me! WTC!!! (Thank goodness it's easy stuff!) I love it when school starts~ I know it's stressful for hubby and the teachers, but I love having the kids back learning and using their minds again~ (instead of playing the xbox!!!)

Oh....and I've been meaning to tell you all.....I took the daughter to see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.....it was so good~ I was a little surprised! Much better than the first~
