When Carol sent out her plea for us to write some blogs, I immediately thought of the Beatle song: "With a Little Help From my Friends".
I didn't want her to worry because she WILL get by with a little help from her friends! There's no doubt about that!
So, I thought I'd look up the song on YouTube and use
it in a blog about friendship. But then, I found a gem.
A video from Woodstock, 1969. Someone made it as a birthday wish to someone named April. (Just disregard that part).
Now, please don't read any further until you watch the video.
Okay, did you crack up like I did? I actually laughed until I cried!
This reminded me of all the songs I've misheard and sung incorrectly over the years. For example:
Remember the song, "Blinded by the Light"? The real lyrics to that song go like this: Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night. But FOR YEARS, I sang: Dressed up like a douche, you know they run her in the night. The first word didn't even sound like "dressed", but that is how I sung it. And I always wondered what one would look like if they were actually dressed up like a douche?!? Oh, let's not go there.
Another popular misheard lyric is from Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze.
real lyrics: 'scuse me while I kiss the sky.
misheard as: 'scuse me while I kiss this guy.
What song lyrics have you misheard and sung incorrectly? What lyrics has a friend or a member of your family sung wrong forever and you can't get them to change? I know there are more that I've sung wrong, and maybe I'm still singing them wrong, but I just can't think of any more right now. Maybe you will jog my memory.
Just for fun, click here for another cute link
side note:
this is harldo's first blog on the nest,
and she did it for her friends! So, Thank
You hartldo, Great Job!

MO - I'll take scrambled eggs, a ham steak, and the fruit salad!!! THANK YOU!!!
Carol I found this for you if you still have the ear plugged. Hope it helps.
This method is taxing to say the least. Here are the steps.
1.) Gather up the items you need
a.)Droppers
b.)Peroxide
c.)Towel or napkin
2.)Lay the Towel or napkin on you bed or floor.
3.)Fill your dropper with the Peroxide
4.)Lay on your side with the clogged ear up
5.)Fill ear with Peroxide and wait for fizzle
6.)When fizzling slows add more Peroxide from dropper
7.)After 10 minuets or so the fizzling should stop. This lets you know it has broken up the wax.
8.)Remove Towel or napkin from under you head, place it over you ear and sit up to let drain.
9*.)Place your thumb behind your ear and push forward to loosen the clog
You should feel a difference how ever depending on how bad the clog is you may have to do this a few times (I had to do it 4 times).
*This may not be necessary if after step 8 the clog is gone however after 4 tries I found this to 'pop' the clog.
Do not try this remedy if you have jaw pain or ear pain already present it could worsen your condition.
OMG Maureen when I saw "Assorted smears" all I could think about was a pap smear. I hope that isn't included! Lol!
I'll be back later....the little vixens are waking up.
Good Morning Owls
Mo thanks for breakfast! I think I will have some fruit and a bagel. I just can't eat pork when you serve it anymore. Something about eating bits and pieces of my piggy friend just...well...kind of bothers me! LMAO
Jodi make them all eat porridge and dry toast this morning and then get them scrubbing your front porch down!
Good Morning Tinka!
Good Morning Maureen - Congrats on first.
SHIRLEY!!!!! NOOOOOO that is not one of the smears!
LYNN...Thanks for having my back!! Or NOT having it! I'd serve chicken, but then BIRDEE will be mad at me!!
Good Morning Shirley, Lynn, Jodi, and Birdee.
I am off to read the blog and comments. Hope everyone is fine.
25
TINKA - Glad to see your cute little owl this morning!! And you're marching already.....I love it!!!
Thanks Donna - That was fantastic. I have never seen a video from Woodstock although I heard so much about it. I will have to think about incorrect lyrics that I have sung. I know there are a lot but I can't think of them right now. One thing singers do not do is enunciate the words to a song.
Jodi - Marching very slowly. I am really tired today and I am not quite sure why. I wish I had your energy.
29
Morning all!
Great blog Hart!! I can't remember the songs I sing wrongly right now, but there are plenty....
I want to thank you all for the encouraging comments about Mom's move..I had to leave suddenly yesterday as the guys who bought Mom's old house called insisting that there was NOT a half a tank of oil in the tank as we had stated. I had to go over with a pipe wrench and a long stick to prove it. Turns out the tank is double lined so they couldn't tell the level by tapping on it and thought the gauge was broken. THEN half the rooms in the house did not have electric...We changed all the fuses, but still can't figure it out. It was fine a few days ago...THEN signif others 19 year old daughter called and she is PREGNANT!!
Whatta freakin day!!
Today we get to have lunch with the 19 yr old and her guy...can you say awkward????
Maureen - Thanks for breakfast. I will just have toast and tea and a Slim Fast to go. I am not quite
"up to scratch today". I will come back later and really eat.
Hart!! Congrats on your first blog!! :) It was really good and very funny! I love the video, how funny!!
Congrats on first Mo!
Hello and good morning to MO, Shirley, LynnD, Jodi, Birdee, Tink..wow busy nest today!
Hart, I can't think of any off hand but I do think it is funny to be completely wrong about them. They have several books on wrong lyrics out in the bookstore too.
Mo: I am going to ask if you have another slimfast for me. :) I am trying to watch what I eat.
LMAO Shirley when I saw your comment! I hope it isn't PAP smears too...still laughing!! What is smears anyway? I haven't heard that term before.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! I am off to take daughter to college in Bowling Green. Home of the Corvette, anyone want me to pick them up one while I am there?
Take care!
Shirley - You have become our resident doctor. Good for you.

Good Saturday morning Owls!
Hartldo...woohoo...your first blog. And it is fantastic! Good job! And that video is frickin' hilarious...I will never hear that song the same again!
I couldn't think of any songs right off that I mix up except for Blinded by the Light and Bohememian Rhapsody, I always make up my own lyrics because I don't know the actual words...so I googled "misinterpeted lyrics" and I got this one...appropriate for a Canadian to share:
Our national anthem:
Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee...it has been heard to be sung:
Oh Canada, we stand on cars and freeze!
Could be right!!!
Sheesh Scirish, I hope that today goes a little more smoothly for you. Sounds like you have had a lot going on!
SCIRISH....sorry you are having such a stressful time right now. it'll get better.
TINKA...maybe a little nap will make you feel better. {{hugs}}
BEBBI...there are extra slim-fasts in the frige...help yourself! Smears (shmears) are toppings for the bagels...like cream cheese, flavored cream cheese, penut butter, jams, butters, etc...just NOT pap!!
VIG...congrats on your new car! Enjoy it and drive safely. Stand on cars and freeze...too funny.
Good morning to SCIRISH ((((hugs)))) 2 u!!! Good luck with everything.
Waving a wing @ VIG and BEBBI. :D
VIG - lol @ the lyrics to your anthem.....sounds about right to me!!!
Good Morning!!!
HART: What a great blog today! I loved the video..can't even watch Joe Cocker without thinking of John Belushi's impersonation on Saturday Night Live!
I am mostly drawing a blank right now on the mis-heard lyrics...but I do it all the time. One I do remember is Crystal Gayle singing "Don't Take Me Half the Way" and I was absolutely certain she was saying "..don't take me house away...". I can tell you though, that there are A LOT of songs that are popular right now that I wouldn't understand at all if I couldn't google the lyrics.
I'll have to ponder this for awhile...thanks for the early morning laugh!
ZONA!!!! So glad you finally surfaced! :P How was your b'day dinner?
ZONA - I remember John Belushi's take on Joe Cocker....and it still cracks me up!!!
ZONA...good morning!!
I am off to work. See ya later
I don't think I said my good mornings to people so...
Good morning to
Maureen...thanks for breaky!

Carol I hope you aren't still plugged this morning.
TINKA - Sorry you're not feeling well today. Please take it easy. ((((HUGS)))) 2 U!!!
I spent all day yesterday celebrating my birthday with Mr. Z and wasn't able to get on the computer. I wanted to tell VIG that I loved her blog. I read the entire 'Encyclopedia Brown' series..and loved 'Mrs Piggle Wiggle'. I got a lot of flack for reading the latter too! I don't know if this qualifies...but I also read the 'Happy Hooker' in 7th grade. I wasn't allowed to do the book report though. ;)
I always loved 'Winnie-the-Pooh' and 'Alice In Wonderland' too.
Mr. Z and I missed the movie yesterday so we are going to try and catch it today..and then go to a bar-b-que. Gonna have another full day.
MO: FIRST!! Congrats to YOU!! Thank you for breakfast...gonna grab some and run!
JODI: HC!! Sounds like you had quite a night last night. I haven't read all the comments...but I'm glad to see you made it through! I'll let you know how 'The Dark Knight' is in IMAX...if we can get in on a Saturday!
SHIRLEY: Mornin' Sunshine!!
BIRDEE: Love seeing you here in the morning..and afternoon...and at night too!! Well, damn...any ol' time at all!! :)
TINKA: I'll be thinking about you today...SWAK!
LYNND: I listened to you again today...you'll never know how much that made me smile! Thank you!
Waving HI to SCIRISH and BEBBI!!
Gotta get the mister up...the movie is at 9:45am..have a GREAT day everyone!!!
AND THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR MAKING MY BIRTHDAY SO WONDERFUL!!
VIG: When did you become a berry??? ;)
49
50
WOOO HOOOO!!!! NOW I gotta run!
Maureen - Thanks, a little nap and perhaps a little cry might help me a lot today.
Jodi and Shirley - Thanks for the hugs.
Zona - Thanks for the phone call. You always make me feel better. That goes the same for VIG's nice letter this morning.
You owls are all so sweet.
Donna - When I was 12 I got my first record player for Christmas that year and my first record was "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus". I loved it. My Dad got cross with me when he thought I was singing,
"He didn't hear me sneak, Down the stairs to have a pee". I guess I didn't enunciate either.
I will be back this afternoon. Have a great day friends.
Good Morning Owls!
So sorry I wasn't involved much yesterday. I worked 12 hours and then had so much to do around the house last night. Mr. Hart went to a poker game and I went to bed. I was beat and couldn't even think straight!
So, From A51....
Sacbarb: That is so cool that you were on the Art Linkletter radio show!
Speaking of kids saying the darndest things.....GMoses: That is so funny about the Bernstein Bears "shooting the rabbits"! LOL!
No, bon'o, I don't remember the words to "The Bears Picnic". My memory isn't THAT good! :)
I only skimmed the comments last night, so when I mentioned that bon'o was not read to as a child, I didn't notice some of the others. What a shame that so many of us didn't have someone to read to us on a daily basis, like my kids have always had. I didn't even have many books in my house! That is probably why I try so hard now to make sure every child at school always has books to take home. They can even keep them if they want.
The first book I remember reading myself (all the way through) was in 5th grade, "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret". I'll never forget it!
Tinka: You mentioned the book "Love You Forever" yesterday. OMG, I read that to my son all the time! And I ALWAYS cried! My son waited for it ...the crying. He knew it was coming. Couldn't help it. The end of that book is a little weird but I still love it. Such a sweet memory that makes me sentimental.
I mentioned The Lorax & The Sneetches yesterday as two of my favorite books, but I forgot the mention The Giving Tree! Triple Love that book!!!!
Love books by Eric Carle and Sandra Boynton. My daughters favorite were always "Junie B. Jones" books and now she likes "Judy Moody".
A couple of books I love to give as baby shower gifts are: "Time for Bed" by Mem Fox and Jane Dyer, and "I Love You As Much ..." by Laura Krauss Melmed and Henri Sorensen.
Goldie: Enjoy your busy weekend!
Scirish: Sorry your mother doesn't like her new house. Hope she will grow to like it.
Carol: Hope your ear is better! YIKES!
iteach: Good luck to Mr. iteach!!!!
Now, onto TODAY'S blog, which happens to be mine! YAY!!!!!
Mo: Thanks for the Slimfast. :) Still getting everything ready to go to Bowling Green. It is really hot outside, not temperature rise but the sun beating down is really hot.
Hope Carol is feeling better today!
Zona: If you listened to me sing again you must really be a glutton for punishment! LOL Have fun today!
I still have not remembered one of my lyric faux pas's but I do remember when I was about 13 or 14 staying at one of my a
Aunts and Uncles for a week visiting them and my cousins and I and some of their friends were in the living room listening to albums remember those?
Anyway my oldest cousin who was about 16 or 17 and had a job always bought all of the current music. We were listening to Jive Talkin, don't remember who sang it or put it out. So we are listening and singing etc.. and my Uncle comes stomping into the room and glaring at all of us, well let me tell you he is a 6 foot 2 man and was a State Patrol officer at the time, he scared the bejeezus out of me. He starts shouting "What kind of filth are you listening to?" "Turn that off right now!!!"
My cousin stopped the record player, we were all looking at each other like deers in the headlights yet mystified but what his problem was. My cousin who I thought was very brave asked his Dad "What is wrong with this?" "We are just listening to some music." My Uncle was still shouting "You will not listen to that in my house!"
Finally my cousin said "what song are you talking about?" My Uncle all red in the face shouted "The one that is singing about Jack Offing!!!"
Let me tell you I was shocked and then got all red and could not look anyone in the eye, but my cousin and his older buddies started to crack up, which by the way did not make my Uncle any happier in the moment until my cousin looked at him with tears in his eyes from laughing so hard and said "Dad that is not what they are saying, they are saying JIVE TALKING!!!"
Well I don't know who was more embarrassed me or my Uncle! LOL The wind kind of went out of his sails and then we had to explain what Jive Talking meant!
Now I can really laugh about it and we remind him sometimes about the Jack Offing song!
Congrats on first Mo!!! And thanks for breakfast!
Zona: I remember John Belushi doing that imersonation on SNL too! He was awesome!
Tinka: Take it easy today and feel better hon.
LOL @ "Down the stairs to have a pee!"
I also LOL @ VIG's discovery of those misheard "Oh Canada" lyrics!
Hello to: Shirley, Lynn, Jodi, birdee, scirish, bebbi, & anyone who flies in later. I am taking my daughter to a 4 hour play practice and then shopping, so I will check back in much later.
Thanks for all the nice comments about my first ever blog! I appreciate it!
Yeah!! Hartldo isn't a blog virgin anymore! Yeah!!! Just thought I would point that out. Carry on people.
Oh holy hell I just saw my posts length. I really just can't type anything smaller when I am telling a story! LOL Sorry folks!
ATTN KMART SHOPPERS:
I just got a text from ZONA....she asked me to post that the Motels' song "Only the lonely can play" was "Only the lonely get laid"!!! Imagine that!!!
60
Good morning, owls! So many here already!!
Hart, wow, I already showed my husband and son the video and we laughed like crazy ~ so FUN!!!! TY!
Shirley, thanks for breakfast!
Jodi, I think much trouble was avoided because you took away that folding chair! HB to your daughter!
Vig, stand on cars and freeze!! LOL
LMAO @ lynn's story about "Jack Offing!"
OMG Shirley! When you wrote that I'm not a blog virgin anymore, I was going to write back and say:
"Aug. 25, 2008 -- The day hartldo popped her blog cherry." Then I realized the date...Aug. 25th -- The day in 1984 when I was married for the FIRST time. The day my parents THINK I popped my cherry for the first time. LOL!
HAPPY SATURDAY!!
Good Morning... (it's busy this a.m.)...
Hart - congrats on your first blog - that video was hilarious!! thanks for sharing..
Before i read all the comments - I used to see "There's a bathroom on the right".. and it was a bad moon rising - or something like that.. and then there was a song about Venus and I always thought it was penis....... never could figure out HOW that ever got on the radio.. I'll have to think of other songs that I totally messed up!!
MO - congrats on first!!!
I'll be right back!!!
Hi GMoses & MEK!
Zona: Isn't it funny how you continue to sing songs the wrong way, even when it makes no sense at all? Example: "Only the lonely get laid". LOL!
Okay, really must run now. We're going to be late for practice.
oh...I just thought of one....I always thought The Clash were singing *uck The Casbah and wondered how they could get THAT on the radio...
BTW...Could I have some of whatever Joe Cocker was having???
waving howdy to
MO, Shirley, Jodi, Lynn D, Birdee, Tinka, Scirish, Bebbi, VIG, Zona, Hart and Grandma Moses and anyone else that flew in while I was seeing who all was here!!!..
Lynn D - jack offing - LMAO!!!
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
gosh - I didn't "see" the song it was SING!!
68
69
That was for Tina, Jodi, Turtle, and Zona..
Grandma Moses I can't take credit for breakfast today. That lovely spread was provided by Maureen. But thanks anyway!
OMG! I've LOL'd three times already today... first at Hart's blog... then at Lynn D's story... then again at Hart when she noted when her parents assumed she did the nasty for the first time!
ROFLMAO! You guys are great!
OK, here's my misheard lyrics story. The song is "Hello Mary Lou" by Ricky Nelson. My ex and friends of ours were on vacation about 12 years ago (I was already 38 or so at the time) and we heard that song on the radio.
For my whole life, I'd heard (and thought the lyrics really were) "Hello, Mary Lou. Good bye, MARGE"!
They all cracked up!
Lynn D:
Feel free to pass these along to your uncle (don't forget to tell him a gay man wrote them especially for him)!
I know you're jack offin'
Stop telling me lies, yeah
Jack offin'
You cannot disguise
Jack offin'
So misunderstood, yeah
Jack offin'
It's really all good!
ATTN KMART SHOPPERS:
I just got another text from ZONA. MR. Z always thought that Amadeus, Amadeus was Hot potatoes, hot potatoes!!!
OK....back to our regular scheduled blogging. :D
Maureen Congrats on first!
Hart Congrats on your first blog ever! It was really a good one, too. I came across that video about a month ago and it still makes me laugh so hard, I cry. The office manager at the vet's where I work is Brittish and knew Joe when they were young men. They hung out with the same crowd and Joe would just be jammin' in someone's flat. Of course I had to share this video with him. It's so hysterical.
I remember when "Louie Louie" first came out on the radio. I really liked it and would strain to understand the lyrics. I still have no idea what they are. LOL
WHABBY - lol @ goodbye Marge!!! That's my Grandma's name, so it really made me laugh. :D
Jodi What?!?!? It's not "Hot potatoes, hot potatoes"?
ROFLMFAO!!!!!!
Good morning!
Love the topic this morning, and congrats MO for being first!
I cannot think of any particular song at the moment, but my fave Stevie Nicks has many undistinguishable lyrics. Many times I have gone to her web site to look up exactly what she was saying.
Oh, Honky Tonk Woman has some ?? lines, I still don't know what they are saying. Led Zeppelin too, some of their songs are just a mish mosh of words, which happen to sound really good!
Have not been able to read the blog in a few days, just been busy.
BABB attendeeds, I will be sending an email this weekend! Just 1 week from today!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Has anyone heard from Carol?
CAROL CAN YOU HEAR ME???? IS YOUR EAR STILL PLUGGED? LET US KNOW YOUR OK.
MojoHowitz~ Congrats on first...second.....third...eleventh and thirteenth~ :)~ I'm not sure if you know or not, but you're a HO!!!
Hart~ Congrats on your first blog...that was freaking hilarious...I'm sending you my dry cleaning bill....kinda pee'd my pants~ :D
The first lyrics that came to mind were "I'm not talkin' 'bout movin' in"....I always thought they were saying "I'm not talkin' 'bout the linens"....and dang me...forget about the music today...i can't even pronounce the artists names! I've decided that Kanye West is Kane West and 50 cent is definitely 50 cents! Drives my kids nuts!~
Jodi~ so glad you survived~ Hope Sam realizes she's lucky you didn't just kill them all~ :)~
Zona~ have fun at the movies~ Are you using up all your texts? :)~
MEK~ Thanks for the 69~ Could have used that last night to get rid of my migraine! (did you know that would get rid of migraines?) :)~
Tinka~ I am thinking about you today~ big hugs and hope you feel better~
Happy Saturday Owls.
Hart, This video is a perfect example of how I hear lyrics. I don't pay that much attention to the message of most songs, so I sing what I think they are saying and every time it is usually something different. Although, I never could understand why there would be a need for a 'secret ASIAN man' until I found out it was a 'secret AGENT man'
My kids were always good for a laugh when they sang. My oldest used to love Journey and sang at the top of his voice "and now I come to you with broken arms"
Two more I can remember from the kids:
Oakridge Boys - "Come on in, baby take your clothes off" instead of "coat off"
and
This is the dawning of the age of asparagus (can't remember who sang Aquarius)
oh SacBarb~ I love that song...the 5th Dimension sings it~
Mo, you are the early bird today and thanks for breaky. Tart? Are you giving us a new name?
Shirley, You are going to have a lot of company looking for IVs.
LynnD, OMG, jack offing...LMAO and @ pharmaceutical buffet.
Jodi, Why do they call it a sleep-over when no one usually sleeps?
Tinka, Feel better soon.
Scirish, Your day is a perfect example of "when it rains, it pours"
Bebbi, I take a blue one please!
VIG, LOL @ stand on cars and freeze.
Zona, Are you even watching the movie?? Belushi did such a good job of impersonating Cocker.
MEK, LOL @ penis...did you sing that out loud?
GMoses, Hello to you
Bear, Goodbye Marge, LOL
J/L, NO ONE knows the Louie Louie lyrics, even the group that recorded it.
EBJ, One more week...Yayyyyyyyy
Thanks Tina. Old timers set in and I just couldn't come up with the name of the group.
85
I am up but I don't think for long. It's just not my day. As I was resting I was thinking of my dad hearing different words to the songs I sang. I remember with the song "Shake, Rattle and Roll" (We are talking the 50's here kids") my dad thought I was singing, "Shake Marilyn Munroe". I have decided this morning that maybe it was more of his lack of hearing than my lack of enunciation.
Tina and SacBarb - Thanks for the kind words and hugs.
VIG - Have fun up-island driving your new car. Sorry I missed your call again. I was asleep.
Have a great day owls. I will be back this evening.
You guys are cracking me up!
Whabbear: I will take your new and revised lyrics to my Uncle! LOL I think I should print them out and make a matted and framed print for him.
Zona where is your mind at?? Only the lonely get laid? LMAO I hope that is true but if they are lonely I think that implies that they may not be getting any! ROFLMAO
Sacbarb: LOL Now I come to you with broken Arms!
Ok I did think of a few that I have done, well one is from some Stevie Nicks lyrics, which one of you said she can be hard to understand so I will take that stance.
Here is the part of the lyrics I screw up where it say It's only me Who want's to wrap around your dreams I always thought she was saying wrap around your feet....
Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
It's only me
Who wants to wrap around your dreams and...
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Dreams of loneliness...
Like a heartbeat...drives you mad...
In the stillness of remembering what you had...
And what you lost
What you had...
And what you lost
The second story I will tell on myself is when a group of us went to the beach, all adults and someone brought a Karaoke machine. The put on I shot the sheriff you know the song
I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy.... Well I was very drunk and at the top of lungs was singing I shot the sheriff but I did not f**k the deputy.....
Ummm that one brought the neighbors over to ask us to turn it down. Hey they all started sing those revised lyrics with me so it was not my voice all alone.
Being very drunk I thought is was a very witty revised version of the lyrics!
Ok I have to head out and go get provisions. See ya later!
Mo:
Congrats on First, you HO you!!!
Hart:
Great Blog, so very funny..Thanks for writing it and sending if off to me, it is very much appreciated...
Bon and Shirley:
Yes I tried the peroxide today, it actually cleared it up a little, it seems it "pops" in and out..At times I can't hear at all and then I get the pop, and sounds appear!
I have a headache today tho, so I am taken it easy...Thanks so much for your help....
I did not read all the comments, so please forgive me if I don't respond to all...
I am going to my Aunt's house tonite she turned 90.. So I will check back later...
Hope all has a good day...
Shirley:
I just saw you called Mo a "bitch" how endearing! :O)
Shirley:
YES I CAN HEAR YOU BUT ONLY IN MY LEFT EAR... :o)
SacBarb: Can't wait to see you and Sharon next weekend! We can sit arould cross-legged, burning incense, eating Goldie's brownies and listening to the Age of Aspargus...by drumroll please... The Fifth Dimension!
Lynn D: Wow! Be sure to send it to me so he can get a signed copy! LOL!
Bear, Yes I can see it now....it's gonna be great!
LynnD ROFLMAO @ both Jack Offing and I Shot the Sherrif. I have long had a crush on Eric Clapton so I'm very relieved that he did not *uck the Deputy! LMAO!!!
OMG LynnD~ you just reminded me that my friend and I in High School changed the words to Endless Love~ (disclaimer: I DIDN'T DO DRUGS!)
My Drug,
Theres only you in my life
The only thing thats high
My first drug,
You're every Quaalude that I take
You're every inhale I make
And i
(i-i-i-i-i)
I want to share
All my drugs with you
Nothing else will do...
And your eyes
Your eyes, your eyes
They tell me how much you've taken
Ooh yes, you will always be
My endless drug
Two hearts,
Two hearts that beat as one
Our lives are almost done
Forever
(ohhhhhh)
I'll hold you close in my arms
I cant resist your charms
And drug
Oh, drug
I'll be a fool
For you,
I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh, you know I don't mind
cause you,
You mean the world to me
Oh
I know
I know
I've found in you
My endless Drug~
Tina Are you sure you didn't do drugs? It would explain a lot. ;)

Donna~~That video started my day with a smile, but I just now returned to catch the link at the bottom of your blog. OMG, each one funnier than the last. THANK YOU!!
Gotta run. Hope you're all enjoying an end-of-summer Saturday.
TINA - MR. JODI enjoys making up new words to songs.....So instead of, Put your sweet lips a little closer to the phone....let's pretend that we're together all alone......His rendition is, Put your sweet lips a little closer to my bone....let's pretend that it's a chocolate ice cream cone!!! I know almost as bad as those lollipop songs. :P
TINA - I almost forgot....congrats on 100!!!
Donna, great job on today's blog. Also, I loved that song!
I think I have strep throat again.
The right back side of my throat is coated with white soars again.
I'm totally exhausted all I do is sleep.
I had all this back in June. not fun...........
HAPPY SATURDAY EVERYONE!!!
First off congrats to Miss Mo for for #1~~~ Why in the world were you up so early on Saturday morning? Believe me, sleep in NOT over-rated!!
DONNA JO~ OMMMMMMGGGGGG, this video absolutely made me laugh until I did cry! Seriously, this is MY generation!!!
I did not attend Woodstock, but I did attend a similar West Coast version in 1968 at the Rose Bowl, (where I got arrested, long story, most know about it, I wrote about it several months ago)
But, back on track, NO ONE ever knew the lyrics to any song back then!!!! (think Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, etc, by the way who knew the words to Bobbie Magee anyway) It was just basic Head Banging Rock and Roll and who cared! But I loved the captions etc. AND did Joe Cocker start the whole AIR GUITAR thing? Did any of you notice that?
Thank you so much Donna for this. I needed a good laugh and you sure came through!
I haven't yet read all the posts, I'll get to them as soon as I post.
As to song lyrics and not knowing what they are really snging, the only one I personally messed up with was by ENYA. This was back in the late 80's early 90's, and the whole Whale issue was ensuing, no more Whale Hunting by the Japenese, etc.
When her song came out, I SWORE she was singing "SAVE THE WHALES, SAVE THE WHALES, SAVE THE WHALES!!!
Now I now she was actually singing SAIL AWAY, SAIL AWAY, SAIL AWAY.
BUT, my dear Owls, the next time you hear Enya sing this song, just think SAVE THE WHALES. It still kind of sounds like it to me, and I always sing that, and it drives my daughters crazy!
Miss Laurie can actually shower today! Her dressings came off yesterday, and the wound is healing nicely, and they checked the Pacemaker with this odd little contraption that they just scanned over the Pacemaker and with the amazing computer they could tell everything! Her heart is using the Pacemaker 95 percent of the time, and that is good, and she has a good heart rate going right now. We go back for periodic checks, but all looks great! One procedure down and two to go! I am looking forward to the September 18th surgery, when she gets her stent and get normal oxygen flowing between both lungs, and her AV Block will be open.
Now, off to read all the posts, and I hope each and every one of you have a fantastic weekend!
Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll!
V V (that's the best I could do with the Peace sign, LOL)
Donna Jean
Donna Jo
Congratualtions on your first blog!
I am sure that I sing some words incorrectly but I've never bothered to look up lyrics in years. I can't imagine how youngsters can understand the words in Rap music. They slur the words and fly the words together. I never listened to metal music because the music over powered the words and I could never understand half of what they were singing.
Anyhow... great blog! :0)
xoxo
Hartldo, great 1st blog!! :)
I always thought that song said "douche" too haha
That link you gave was funny too..There is also this website of misunderstood/misheard lyrics:
MISHEARD LYRICS

sacbarb, I started laughing so much cause I can just imagine him singing loud, "and now I come to you with broken arms" ~ too funny!
DonnaJean, it is great that Laurie is doing so well!
I just got to watch the video!
BRILLIANT!!
HOGGIFY!!!!!!
DonnaJean Bitchin' peace sign, Man. :)
Maureen Every time you post, we have been "hoggified". LMAO!
Hi ya everyone!
Tina uh huh about the drugs but were you drinking??? LOL I like your version much better!
Jodi that husband of yours should be writing lyrics! LOL
Iteach I think it is back to the doc for you! My goodness it seems once someone gets strep it can come back at the drop of a hat.
Joey glad you liked the story! That Uncle is the same one that ate the meal worms in the bran cereal for my sons chameleons. Now that I think about it he is the one we laugh about the most, even though he was scary growing up.
DonnaJean I like save the whales better! LOL Glad Laurie is doing so much better!
Justlin I did not know that was who sang I shot the sheriff! I may have to change my lyrics! ROFLMAO!
Good news, DG!
Thanks for that link, Joey!
We're watching the American women's volleyball team trying to beat the Brazilians. USA! USA!
YW Whabby! Where oh where have all the owls flown to? lol
People must actually be having fun on a Saturday night..I'm bored:(
Bored! Hmmm... have a cocktail, honey! And make a peach pie!
LOL@Whabbear! Yeah, it's better than misbehaving;)haha
Yes, I went to the night clinic and I was able to get some drugs for my throat!!!!!
I used to think the Tina Turner song was saying My friends house but I still am not sure but I think it is brick house. I didn't know that until I went to a concert with some friends and they heard me singing along. I still forget sometimes (when I am alone). I used to know all the naughty words to Louie Louie. I wonder how I learned them and I can remember them in a second especially if I am dancing the "jerk" at the same time!! (anyone remember that dance)?
ITEACH: No getting sick. We are not going to start that again this winter!! Take meds and get well quick. Do you think this is a result of being around kids already? Keep far from your family!!
Hi Everyone! I'm finally back! Busy, busy day. I sure hope I can just stay home and rest tomorrow.
OMG! Whabbear thinking it was "Hello, Mary Lou. Good bye, MARGE"....sacbarb singing "Secret ASIAN man", her son singing "Now I come to you with broken Arms!", and MR. Zona always thought that Amadeus, Amadeus was Hot potatoes, hot potatoes!!! All of these absolutely cracked me up!
I loved your friend's "drug" song, Tina!!!
Maureen, I wondered when you were going to notice "HOGGIFY!" That can be our new shout-out to you! :)
LOL @ Mr. Jodi's song!
Donna Jean: GOOD FOR YOU for thinking it was "Save the Whales!" but I'm still LMAO!!!
And I'm smiling because Laurie Elizabeth is making progress and doing so well.
iteach: Oh no! You can't be sick this soon after starting school! I wish I could come sub for you and let you take a few days off.
Thank you to everyone who complemented my first blog. Your encouragement might help me to write another one someday.
CAROL: I hope your ear is better tonight. Maybe ZONA could give you some tips on making it better!
TINA; Lovely song!! I think you should record it and have it for background music next time you have the priest over for dinner! Come on girl, let your talent show!
Ok..I see MO added the chocolate bacon to breatkfast this morning. I have another new thing that "they say is selling" now, either a jar of Donkey poop or Elephant poop. It is "red chocolate covered sunflower seeds and blue for the other one." Let me know if anyone is chomping at the bit for any of these special items this week!
JODI: How are things at home tonight? Did Sam live through the whole party?
TINK: I sure hope you start feeling better by morning. Sometimes we just need lots of sleep! Take care.
DONNA JEAN: I am so glad to hear that Laurie is feeling better. I hope you are both going to still be able to attend the BBQ.
HART: Great blog. I wish I would get brave and do a blog. I just can't seem to get my thoughts into writiing. You did a good job!
Dianne-I wish I could stay far from my family, so that they wouldn't get sick.
However, they keep finding me.
I can't tell you when is the last time I went to the bathroom by myself.
Oh iteach~ it's THAT bad that you can't go to the bathroom by yourself? Oh dear....maybe you should go back to the doctor and let him know~ :)~
Dianne_not_answering_her_phone_in_Denver~ funny you should mention the priest...will be seeing him tomorrow~ And are all those things for real? I love sunflower seeds~ Had bacon today, but can't picture it covered in chocolate~
LynnD~ lol....not drinking either...just high on teenage life~
Jodi~ lol...i don't know about that Mr Jodi~ and how is the little Jodi?~
Hart~ thanks~ you did a great job on the blog~
You goof!
hey now!!! it's the ibuprofen talking~ :)~
Hey, wait to the real drugs kick in and see what words fly out! :)
and then add a couple of shots of anything and THEN see what happens! :)~
speaking of which....do you know what you could coat your throat with that would help sooth it? You would need the Mr's help tho~ :D
Tina: There's nothing like a little Custard!
Wouldn't you agree, J/L?
LOL
All the nasty thoughts that are going through my head right now.
Thanks for making this sick girl smile! :)
Good night everyone!
Did I hear something about Custard? LOL
iteach Good night. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
BEAR is volunteering Custard again!!
Yes TINA, those things are really real. I am reading about them in the paper (that looks like a Sunday one today). I will keep my eyes open for anything else yummy to tell you about. I can't quite imagine chocolate on bacon either (nothing personal MO)!
ITEACH: I still remember those days of never being able to go to the pot alone but I also remember following my mom in the bathroom as a child too. I think we had some of our best talks in there!!
I am off to bed...nighty night!
Hello everyone. I am back from ushering yet another play at the local theater and on the way home I heard 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' by Bonnie Tyler on the car radio, and it reminded me of another lyric my son used to sing.
Instead of 'we're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks' he sang (and always at the top of his voice) 'we're living in a poly bag and picking up socks'
I tell ya, this kid loved to sing and was always so proud to 'sing it out' as loud as he could. My Hubby and I would laugh until we cried at some of his songs. I just wish I had written them down for his scrapbook.
Good night Dianne and Iteach. Sweet dreams to you both and Iteach, I hope you feel better very soon.
BTW, When my kids were little, I remember loving Mondays so I could go to work and pee in private too, well in a private stall anyway!
Happy Saturday Evening..
I've been gone all day (and night) - had one of the BEST days ever!!!
I have just skimmed the comments
Iteach - I sure hope you feel better soon!!!
Tina - you're welcome - anytime!!
:-)
Zona - glad you survived your birthday!!
Hart - thanks again for a great blog today!!
waving a wing at everyone... I'm headed for bed.. what a GREAT way to end the day - Listening to our National Anthem!!!
I hope everyone has an excellent Sunday!!
:-)
LOL! You guys are cracking me up!
Hart: And now for maybe the most confusing song of all time, lyrics-wise!
Eric Burdon's Spill the Wine!
Right from the first time I heard that song, back in 1970, I just couldn't hear anything else except:
Do I, dig that girl!!
It's really Spill the Wine, Dig that girl, but the auditory illusion is incredibly compelling!
