Lol~ watch the first one (you'll have to pause the second one!) THEN watch the second one~
The Daytona 500 was so much fun to watch this year. You never know who's going to win because they all run so close together at this track. There was a break in the action this time because of a crack in the asphalt caused by all the rain they had. The pothole was causing damage to some of the cars (Jimmie Johnson). The race was red flagged twice for a total of about 2 hours so they could fix it. Both times I prayed that the race would re-start because I didn't want the guy in first to be declared the winner. They weren't my favorites. In the end, the race went into overtime and Jamie McMurray won. That boy is such a cutie and I was so excited to see him win. I also loved watching Dale Earnhardt Jr. go from 10th to 2nd in one lap. He always puts on a good show and never disappoints.
Jamie has an interesting story. He was thrown into another driver's car for the last 6 races of the season when the other driver got hurt. Jamie had never raced in the Cup series. In his second race, he won. I was there. It was so exciting to watch the new guy win. And he was a hottie! He raced that car for the next three seasons, but never won another race. He had decent finishes in the point standings, but did not win. He moved over to Roush Racing and became part of a five team operation. He was with them for four years and won twice. NASCAR changed their rules a few years ago stating that one owner could own no more than four cars. This was the year it would take effect and one of Roush Racings teams had to disband. Jamie's team was the one. Luckily, his old team was looking for another driver and Jamie was welcomed back to Ganassi Racing. When you see him crying in Victory Lane, this is why. A lot of guys cry when the win the Daytona 500 anyway, but I think Jamie was also grateful that he could pay back all those who believed in him way back when.

Snow day!!!! WOOOHOOO!!
Fr. area 51:
Just Lin I'm glad your son and his kids are with you safe. Verbal abuse, in my opinion, is worse than physical abuse sometimes. No one needs drama like this. I hope it is resolved soon.
Tina I don't watch any of the Nascar races. Just not my thing. As a little girl my family use to go to Stock Car races on dirt tracks. That was fun, but very hot and dusty.
Sounds like it was time for this guy to finally win. Good for him.
5...just because I can.
Who knew Tina was a stocker!?!
Owls owls in the trees,
Who's the prettiest of...ME!!!
Good morning all!!!
Well I think it is just wonderful to see a gay man finally dominate in this type of competition....and it was very moving to see him cry like a little girl without fear of being bullied or having a hate crime perpetrated against him or his transgenger "she male" partner!
Kinda reminds me of when Greg Louganis won the gold for his Olympic diving skill....I cried with him.....
Nah!...just messin' with you....lol
But the next thing you know...with all this progress.....the next lunar mission will most likely include LGBT astronaunts.....I know that "moon" could use some sprucing up and who better to do it! And that space station....oy!...could we GET better lighting and some nice accent pieces in there!?
I hear Uganda is considering sending all their gays into orbit..I know they have already sent the rest of the world into "orbit" with this news....
Well...great blog Tina...I know you love Nascar....and congrats to whats his name...."cry baby".....
Morning Glories!
Shirley got first! Wohoo. Snow day huh? I hope you send some of it to Whistler for the Olympics as they seem to be having some snow issues or lack there of for the downhill skiers.
Tina round and round they go and the deafening sounds they make. I have a hard time with NASCAR. Kind of like watching paint dry, except you don't get to stare avidly waiting for a paint accident.
I am glad a Newbie won. That is refreshing in any sport. Love to watch the underdogs knock the old dogs around. Keeps them real or at least pops that bubble some of them have.
J/L (((Hugs))) to you and your family. Addiction is so painful for families and the abuse that results from it is devastating. Your son is doing the right thing.
Good Morning!
TINA: Loved the race this year! The stops in the action were a little annoying, but when they would get started again it was sure exciting to watch! I love when they tell you to 'Crank it Up'. We have the surround sound on and it sounds amazing. I can't imagine what it must be like to actually be there. I really thought Harvick was going to win though..but it was nice to see Jamie McMurray get the checkered flag. I can always cheer Kevin Harvick on next time..the season's just begun! :)
SHIRLEY: Congrats on FIRST! Snow day? It's going to be 80 here today..way too early for these temps!
I missed the last couple days because of a bad cough..and then a migraine knocked me out yesterday. I think all that coughing gave me the migraine though. Feeling much better today.
JENNIFER: Goddess of poo? LOL! I remember a comment that TINA sent out on MS a couple years ago..she was laughing at how fast everyone was deleting it. I hope that's not what you are seeing everyday. ewwww..
DEEDEE: I saw the movie "The Singing Nun" when I was a teenager. I loved your blog and the 'rest of the story'..very, very interesting.
LYNN: I never thought I would like NASCAR..but I really do..especially the deafening sounds!
J/LIN: I'll be praying for you and your son and grandchildren. What a sad and scary situation for all of you to be going through.
Good morning Hooters! I enjoy racind for the sport of it. Same as watching porn for the superb acting.
Seriously, the ony racing that's really caught my attention is Figure 8 racing. The wrongness of it captures me.
Tina, don't you know there are stalker laws? That pic can be used against you, you stalkerazzi!
ATTN KMART SHOPPERS!!
SACBARB: Is tripping the light fantastic in Las Vegas this week! She asked me to say HI to everyone for her. Hopefully she will find some free wireless while she's there. Remember BARB..what happens in Vegas..stays in Vegas..so have fun! :D
END OF ANNOUNCEMENT!
I better go work on my farms..I missed a day of sending out gifts too..gotta catch up on that! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Ok my snow day has been cut short. Damn!!! Off to work! See you all later. Play nice...TINA!!!
oh my goodness!
This is embarrassing!
I was reporting on the wrong subject!!
A juxtaposition of sorts...as it turns out...
Therefore...Yay Jamie!! Driving in an oblong pattern for 500 miles is quite an....ah....accomplishment! Yes...an accomplishment! Thats what it is! And when the paint was dry.....he won!!!!
Just popping in real quick before the Cartoon Network renders me incapable of thought.
Tina. I went to a race once in Riverside. Does that count? It was over 40 yrs ago.
DeeDee. LMAO @ cry baby!
Thanks for your support, everyone. One day at a time, as they say.
you know....upon further examination....this is actually a marvelous piece for this blog....
1. its well thought out...
2. clearly all the elements of exceptional writing skills are there...
3. It is a great conversation starter...
4. and of interest to many....
5. it supports the authors love of the subject...
6. and gives us very clear analysis of the main character....
excellent effort today......you can't see it but I have given you 47 seconds of thunderous ovation....
lol DeeDee~ I see that you got my note from last night!!!~
Shirley~ congrats on first~
Good Morning to everyone~
I've got to run to a meeting and will be back later~
p.s.~ Some of you need to work on liking NASCAR just for today!!~ ijs~
TINA; OK, I will like NASCAR for today...but my football players don't cry like that baby car racer and where was the guy from Dancing With The Stars...he is the car racer I like the best! It is always nice to see someone that no one thinks will win ....win! Who is that guy in the picture with you?
DEEDEE: I'm not going to go into your personal life here today but I am a very concerned old friend reading your update on FB...not again, please!!!!!!
J/L: I went to church for my ashes today and you were right up there in the front of my prayer list...you and your family. I am glad you are all safe and some of those cartoons aren't that bad....I always like Dora.
SHIRLEY: FROM AREA 51....I agree with TINA about all the things you could write a blog about...how about some stories of your weird clients?
Tonight is going to be good Olympics with Shawn White, Lindsay Vohn (don't know if I am spelling their names right)and Ano.
Our priest was so funny today. We can't eat meat on Ash Wednesday so he said if we went to McDonalds with our ashes on and ordered a Big Mac and another Catholic waited on us they would say, "oh no, not today." He also said the recessional hymn today was Jimmy Buffet Cheeseburger in Paradise. Now if I could go to mass when he was saying it I would go more.
ZONA: Sorry you have been under the weather but glad you are better today. I think my chest cold is gone thanks to the drugs from the doctor...yea for drugs!!!!
SACBARB: Look around for my money that MARY always loses there. It might be on the floor or in a slot machine somewhere. I think it is a lot..although,she blamed her husband last time for running away with it. Have lots of fun.
SHIRLEY: SOrry, your snow day was cut short...darn it!
Well Well Well....today is the first day of lent. We will now be observing St TINA for the next 40 days and 40 nights...good thing lent will be over by the time we go to Chicago. j/s
Di~ The guy in the picture is Jamie McMurray....the WINNER of the Daytona 500!!~
TINA: Well, how the heck did I know---I thought it was a new boyfriend and your were the cougar or something!!!
PS Tina, I can't be worried about you and your men right now...I am worried about DEEDEE going to prison and also shopping for a new toaster AGAIN for her. I think this is where I came in j/s
Since it's now Lent, what's everyone giving up?
Tina, I am mildly interested in NASCAR; The whole team thing going on, spotters, etc. One year a girl, not our beloved Danica, had to drop out because of mechanical difficulties. She cried and I thought she didn't belong in the sport if she was just a sobbing mess of hormones. It is somehow more acceptable for a man to cry because he's happy he won as the underdog.
I still like Figure 8 racing better, though.
What does Mr. Tina think of you sidling up with the macho race car driver?
Dianne, go ahead and throw the dang toaster in the tub whilst DeeDee's in it. There's a Ground Fault Protection built in that will keep her from being electrocuted again.
TINA...I have only watched NASCAR once and it happened to be the race that Dale Earnhardt crashed. Never watched again.
My cousin Don was at Daytona this year and loved it. He always volunteered at the Cleveland Grand Prix. Total NASCAR fanatic.
ZONA...sorry you were sick. Glad you're feeling better. I was afraid you were going to say you were MIA because someone kicked you in your ankle!!!! BTW, we had NO snow today!! There's still 4 hrs to go before the day is officially over, tho!
SHIRLEY...sorry you had to go in to work. You should def write a blog!
JUST LIN...I'm sorry your son and grandkids are going thru such difficulties. It sounds like he is doing the right thing. {{hugs}} to you all.
WAVING to all the owls
J/Lin, If your son gets the temp custody order then he can petition to move back to the family home. She should be the one moving, not him. It's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better, but it will get better. I know you're strong enough to handle it.
I did not watch the race this year, actually I never watch the race.. But I did read the blog and watch the vids so that has to count for something right.. lol
Tina..
Glad the underdog won.. I always root for them.. well not really, but it sounded good..
:O)
Shirley.. you are truly the prettiest of them all.. Congrats on 1 :O)
Zona.. sorry you were not feeling well.. but glad you are feeling better..
J/L.. Thinking of you, and sending you lots of smiles.. Bonacci is right you are strong you will get thru this..
Mo..
No snow for me either.. YAY!
I just wanted to stop by to say hello, I am tired tonite so going to bed early..
Waving to all above me and all who lands below me..
Nite
WOW...Shaun White is super human!! What an amazing kid!
CAROL...I spoke too soon. Winter weather advisory in effect until 4 am! Damn! Snow and freezing drizzle. I see the salt trucks out and about. Hope it is clean by the time I have to drive to work in the morning.
I'm so going to hell-
I ate meat for dinner and I totally forgot not too.
Oh, pooooooooooo!
Jennifer, not to worry. I forgot to eat anything at all today. I'll take your meat sin if you'll take my growling belly.
OMG! ROFLMAO at "Gays in Space"!!
One of these days....
Di~ My priest said that he'd rather see people at mass on sunday to receive communion instead of on Ash Wednesday for ashes~ I thought of you~ :)~
Jen~ ur not going to hell~ (not for that anyway!) :)~
Careol. LMAO ap you just saying you root for the underdog because it sounds good!
I am physically and emotionally exhausted so I will be going to bed soon. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
J/L I'm so thinking of you in my heart and mind. Hugs!!!
