a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day.....
About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud,
unattractive, mean-acting redneck woman walked into the store with her two redneck kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.
I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart.
Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'
The ugly redneck woman stopped yelling long enough to say,
'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or stupid?'
So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'
My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.

Yesterday I took my disabled friend to do her marketing and a couple of interesting things happened...
I took Annie to the Mercado...she hadn't been out of the house in 2 weeks and wanted to get out........
She has this annoying habit of calling me while we are in the store...."Where are you?"....wtf!?
well once when she called I was working on a video and...well...it went something like this...
Anna: Where are you?
me: why?
Anna: cause its fun!! Where are you?
me: by some milk
Anna: whaddaya doing back there?
me: looking at the lemonade....
Anna: I thought you said you were by the milk
me: do you know where fudge is at?
And then people were looking at me...I had said...milk...milk...lemonade...and fudge.....so embarrassing!!
And then all of a sudden a heard a bloodcurdling scream...and another..and more! She wouldn't stop! It was a black woman...looked to be in her 20's...she was with another lady.
Well I thought..OMG she's getting the holy ghost...GET THIS ON FILM!!! SO I pointed my camera at her and got the screams and everything!!! I was so excited...I was going to use it for a blog!!
When I got to the car I realized tho that I had bungled the film...I didn't get it...and my milk milk lemonade...turn the corner fudge is made video was no good either...
People have just got to leave me alone when I am involved in film making!!
Tina Good moaning to you, too. Don't stand too close to me. My cold seems to be getting worse, little by little, each day. I'll be over on the naughty mat holding the box of tissues.
SacBarb Thanks for the blog. I think I could be a greeter for the first day but I'd lose my cool on day two. Just too many stupid and obnoxious people to deal with.

Bear Yesterday it was gorgeous here. It's still a little overcast today but hoping it will burn off. We are so lucky to have the weather we have here in California. If I felt better, I'd go out and do something.

I am feeling very blah today too. No sun for several days and I am extra tired today. I went out last night and stayed out later than I usually do. It was fun, but with bad weather, etc...I am Tired!...!! Not the young whipper snapper I used to be!

DeeDee, I was in Walmart many years ago when I wished I had had a camera on me. I didn't have a cell then.
There were two dirty nasty looking hill billy looking couple. In their cart they had the most beautiful blond boy about 3 or 4 yrs old.He didn't look like either one of them. I will always wonder if he was one of the many kidnapped children out there. It still haunts me.
Justlin, I will keep a good distance from you. It is bad enough to have cold & miserable weather here, I don't need a "miserable gal" with a cold lol!!

Mo, We got a little snow last night, & just a few flurries today. It is very cold! Mr Mary got his $500 electric bill today:(. It just happened to come with out winter tax bill!

MO Thank you, too. :) When I'm not sneezing, I'm coughing. It's becoming very tiresome. It could always be worse, though. Since I quit smoking I haven't gotten colds as often as I used to, nor are they as severe.

Bear In '61-'62 I was a freshman in high school in SoCal so have no clue what you're talking about. With my memory, or lack,thereof, even if I was living up here at the time, I probably wouldn't remember it.
