Sad moments of TV

Today I was thinking of the saddest memories on TV and the happiest ones. I thought today I would share you my saddest memory on TV and tomorrow my happiest one.
Some of you might already be thinking of the last episode of MASH or JFK's funeral. However, mine is a little different. It was one that happened when I was a child and it has forever stuck in my mind. It was the day Mr. Hooper died on Sesame Street. He really did pass away and Sesame Street decided to incorporate it into their show.
I know that it is not fun to talk about sad moments, but I do believe they make us stronger. I think I was able to understand death more as I watched it from Big Bird's eyes.

Boy, the Olympics were sure good tonight. I almost started to cry there too!
I cooked tonight for my daughter's family. I don't cook much and it even turned out good and I had never tried it before. The kids said to there dad, "this is good and you said Nana couldn't cook." As luck would have it, one of Tammy's friends will be bringing dinner tomorrow night -Yay!!
Dianne Congrats on your dinner success.
My husband, the police lieutenant, used to cry for the winners of Miss America, Miss USA, etc. He'd get all teary, then look over at me because he knew I'd be looking at him with a WTF? expression, then we'd both start laughing.
I think everyone is concentrating on the Olympics so I will, too. Have a good night everyone. See you all tomorrow.

Hart & Zona, The production of Hairspray was very good and I get to do it again next week. This is the last show of the summer season.
Hart, What a shame your friend is out of sick leave. Is there no catastrophic leave program where other employees can donate time to her? We have a very successful program like that for state employees and it has saved many employees from going under when a lengthy illness occurred.
J/L, Glad your computer is fixed. Did you have to talk to someone in India?
Zona, I can't believe a 'friend' would send you a card with no stamp. Did you have to pay the postage? How embarrassing! BTW, not sure about the 'pot pie' code.
Tina, congrats on your two-fer.

sacbarb: Thank you for your concern about my friend. About catastrophic leave, I guess there isn't anything like that in our school system. I wouldn't really know because I don't have any benefits through them. All my five jobs there are part time jobs. One thing that is hurting her is that she's not in the teacher's union. She is eligible for some reduced insurance, I guess. Someone said that would cost her $1200 out of pocket every month that she's off work. We've taken up a collection and we're paying the first month, but we have to come up with some fundraisers from now on.
Well, I'm up getting ready for my first day back on the job!
