Way to much "stuff"

by Zona

This is one of my favorite George Carlin routines. I can identify with it, because I know I have way too much stuff. Not only do I have my own things saved in boxes, there are all the things Mr Z and I have acquired in the 24 years we've been married. Then...there is all my mom's stuff. When it comes time to clean..I sit down, exhausted, before I even get started, just thinking of moving and dusting all the stuff we have. I can't seem to get rid of anything...and we keep accumulating more. Where does it end? If the 'Stuff Police' came to my door one day..and said I had to get rid of all but five things...or they were going to trash it all...I don't know what I would do. Do you have too much stuff?? Or could you easily pare your stuff down to just five things??

Hi Tinka, Dianne, Sandie, Carol, Tina, VIG, Zona, Mary, Hartldo and Jodi! I hope I didn't miss anyone.

Zona I'm glad you like the stuffed stuff I made!

Jodi it's good to see you. Glad you liked my blog.

The Christmas club is a good way to save money for Christmas shopping. However I had to ask for my money back so I could pay for my eye appointment. Oh well.

Congrats on 200 Jodi! I hope your back gets better. I saw an exercise on TV where you lay on the floor and put your legs up on the wall. Your hips are suppose to touch the wall too. It was suppose to line up your spine or something. I would have to line up a back hoe to get me off the floor!

Jodi - I have been around most of the day. Sorry to have left you all alone in the nest. I am trying to get organized for my day at the Fair tomorrow.

When we cleaned out my mom's house we found so many things the same as you did, birthday cards, old pictures, love letters my dad wrote to my mom when she was at the Mayo Clinic. I was so glad my mom was still alive when we did that or we would have cried buckets. As it was, we still had an emotional week.

Tina - Boy you are very good at 'creating' Hotties.

Shirley - I am so sorry you had to use your Christmas fund but at least you had some savings to draw on.

I am off to bed. It's a busy day tomorrow. I will check in at the nest in the morning before I leave. I wish I could take my 'fur babies' but there are no dogs allowed. It's a good rule because there are so many animals at the Fair including horses that could get spooked.
I have hired a 'fur baby' sitter.

Good Night All Owls. Thanks for the fun.

Zona, you wrote a great blog.

God Bless us All and Keep us Safe over this Holiday Weekend.
Love, Tinka

I can't believe the blog today is about stuff and I haven't mentioned my Dad! Talk about keeping stuff! He had a whole building full of stuff. Actually a lot of his stuff was trash...literally. He use to take our garbage (way back in the day when you took it away yourself) to the dump and come back with more than he took! He brought back beds, bicycles, toasters, lamps, tire, car parts, lumber, clothes, windows, doors, bottles, kitchen sink, bathtub, railroad ties...well you get the picture. Of course my mother was not pleased at all. It was always his goal to use everything he brought home, however I think only 10% may have been used. We had to clean the rest out when he pasted away. What a job that was! So I think my Dad would have given you all a run for your money when it comes to having stuff.

Jodi, we did toast you! And the other owls too :)

Poe really likes MEK, he talked around her right away and takes food from her. Next we will try to get her to hold him on her hand.

We are looking forward to the bbq tomorrow, wish everyone could be here.

Happy Friday Night Everyone!

Anyone still up??

Just got back from dinner, and what a fun time we had! This is my first BBQ and the first time to meet ANY of the OWLS, so it was double the fun!

JODIE~ Mary/MI and I had the beer for you! Both were Corona's, after all it was a Mexican restaurant.

Be sure to ask MEK about her "special" quesidilla!!!

Mary brought her niece who is absolutely gorgeous (inside and out) and Mary is so sweet! MEK is a riot, as you all know, and Judy, SacBarb and Sharon the Chaperone are just such fun, lovely gals!

To be perfectly honest, I was nervous to come by myself, with just Miss Laurie as my Escort, but everything is turning out just perfect! I can't wait till tomorrow to meet all the rest!

Well, I am pretty tired, so I will say goodnight, and will post again tomorrow. Or I might just check back in a few, who knows what I'll do, I'm On Vacation at the BABBQ!!!

MEK does have her FLIP, and everyone seems to have brought their camera, so rest assured there will be lots of pictures!

Sweet Dreams to All,
Donna Jean

Good Morning Owls!
Everyone else is still in bed here. We stayed up LATE, visiting with my son & DIL.

I have such a big day that I just couldn't sleep. I hope I don't tire out before all the fun is over.

First, we're going to my mom's. She hasn't seen my son in forever. Then there is a big parade here in town. It's our annual "River Days Festival" in our little town. Then my daughter has play practice. My son & DIL are going because they can't be here to see the real production next weekend. Then we're FINALLY meeting my DIL's family. They live up north, about 2 hours away, so we're meeting halfway for dinner.

If my son wasn't here, I'd be really sad that I was missing the BABB.

Shirley: The "Stuffed" menu was super!!! You are always so funny and clever!

Jodi: Enjoy every minute of your time off!

Have a GREAT day everyone!!!!
