Just Silly!

by Tina~in_ut

I don't know why, but this video just makes me laugh. The first time I watched it I thought, what a horrible example for kids. Then I saw the end......and I couldn't stop laughing. I hope you find it funny, too~

Can't watch the videos yet until the computer is done.

Maureen said...

Well, I guess you answered my question before I asked it...I'm sorry you have another headache. Drink some of your acai juice, maybe it will help your head.

Birdee said...

Ha!
no sun yet. I think I might have heard something about us getting some rain. But, yesterday was really nice.

Birdee said...

Hey Lynn!!

Mo, I took a swig of it a few minute's ago....hoping it kick's in sooooooon!

Birdee said...

Mo, since I answered your ??? before you axed it....does that make me a smart a$$ too????

Maureen said...

LYNN...good morning to you! Oh honey, you have taught me many things!

I am watching the local news and heard a very disturbing story...in the city of Cleveland School District, only 53% of the students graduate. One school as low as 36% and 3 others at 39%. These kids are our future...makes the future look kinda scary.
I have about a 14 page rant about this, but I will spare you!

Maureen said...

BIRDEE...since you axed, yes you are a smart ass! And a fuzzy ass!

I guess you are getting our rain from yesterday. Sorry, but don't say I never gave ya nuthin!

Lynn D said...

Morning Birdee! I hope you kick the headache soon!

Mo that seems criminal for graduation rates to be that low! Don't get me started either!

Birdee said...

Mo, I could prolly help ya write that 14 page rant!!

I'm watching the Green network!

Birdee said...

Thank's, Lynn! it's a pisser to wake up like this...kinda ruin's the whole day!

Maureen said...

My friend is a Cleveland school teacher and the story he tells can curl your toes!

any chance I could bribe someone to come over and run the vacuum??
Pepper has left dust bunnies all over!

Maureen said...

BIRDEE..maybe you can "bribe" Mr. Birdee *wink wink*!!

Birdee said...

I know what your little "wink" "wink" mean's Mo, and......it Ain't Gonna Happen!!!

Maureen said...

Oh BIRDEE...never say never ;)~

Maureen said...

hehehe...1st and 25th! That is for TINKA! (but SHIRLEY...mark it in my page!)

Lynn D said...

Ok finally watched the video. Thanks for the morning laughs Tina! I think I could go watch a ping pong match if this is how they operate! LMAO

Birdee I will come run the vacuum if you will come over to my house next week and scrub my tubs! LOL

Birdee said...

It's a deal, Lynn!!!
I just hate all the noise with vacuuming!! I bought the least noisy one too!

scirish said...

Morning Everyone!!

Another fly by..I caught up on some comments when I woke up at 5am...(ugg) but I forgot most of what I wanted to say...I really should write things down...

Carol..Thanks for the condensed version of recent owl events the other day...There certainly seemed to be a lot of "crap" floating around.

Congrats on first Mo...How does your ass like being a member of Mensa?

Birdee...Hope your head is better!

Hope everyone is well and happy as a pig in poo...(sorry Mo)

Happy Saturday!!

I was awakened WAY too early today - so, I'm a little tired..

Good Morning!!!!

MO - congrats on FIRST!!

Scirish - how is your mom feeling?!

waving howdy to MO, Birdee, Lynn D, and Scirish and all who land!!

I need to start moving some rock -

I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)

MEK in AZ said...

Tina - thanks for the laugh this am.

whabbear said...

Hi, Lynn D, 'weenie, Birdee, MEK, and Scrishy!

Tina, LOL! Where was the penalty point?

Well, here it is, we've reached the end of May somehow! How did that happen?

bonachichi said...

Whab, I find it funny that you, the astronomy buff are asking about calendar time.

bonachichi said...

Great video, I like my intensity with a little silliness.

Good morning time to Mo, Tina, Birdee, LynnD, scrish, MEK, Whab and everyone coming in later.

bonachichi said...

I pulled my daughter out of the public education system and worked her butt off. There were no easy A's or excuses.

I don't know what the problem is with public schools, but I do know that we shouldn't promote mediocrity. Neither for the educators nor for the students.

Maureen said...

SCIRISH...glad to see you. The bad part about having such a smart ass is that it had to grow very large to hold all its smartness!! ;)~

WHABBY...are you still sitting on the terlet??

BONACCI...How's things in IT this weekend? Did you ride again? Yes, there is a def problem with the public schools in some areas. I think the teachers have to spend too much time putting out fires...often literally...instead of teaching.

MEK...why are you moving rocks?? Or is that a euphemism for something else?? LOL!

whabbear said...

LOL@'weenie! At some point today, you can count on it!

whabbear said...

bonacci: More irony yet to come! The set of blogs I'm writing for the nest is about general relativity, specifically... time dilation! LOL!

Maureen said...

WHABBY...weren't laptops invented for the purpose of multi-tasking? LOL!

Just_Lin said...

MO Hey, I think you cheaqted! Congrats on #1 anyway. LOL @ Bear multi-tasking!

Birdee Hope your headache is going flying away.

MEK Moving rock? Are they ones that Tug brought to you?

Bonacci I agree wholeheartedly about mediocrity in the schools. Why have we lowered our standards?

LynnD Maybe you can bribe Mr. LynnD to scrub the tubs. ;)

Bear I look forward to your blogs. I always get smarter when I read them. :)

scirish I hope your mom (and you) are having more good days than bad.

Tina I got a kick out of the vid. Who says white boys can't dance? When I was a teenager, my younger brother and I would have marathon ping pong tournaments that would go on almost daily throughout the summer. You could say we're both rather competative. LOL

sacBarb said...

Happy Saturday Owls.

Tina, the vid was very funny, but I was waiting for the loser to just punch the winner. I know that would be poor sportsmanship, but it would have made me laugh even harder.

Mo, is the early smart ass this morning. Congrats to you.

Birdee, has the acai kicked in yet? I didn't know that was good for headaches.

MEK, moving rocks? Has Tug taken to moving rocks and you have to put them back?

Bear, How did the car do on the PS trip?

Bonaccci, So did you home school your daughter or send her to private school?

Lynn & Scirish, If you find someone to vacuum and clean your tubs, send them here when they are done.

Carol, I love your pic from yesterday. I hope you take more to share with us.

Zona, are you up yet???

Waving to all the other Owls.

I have so stinkin' much to do today I know it will not all get done. Plus, the A/C guy is supposed to be here at 5:00. I hope to BBL.

sacBarb said...

Hello to J/L. I think we were typing at the same time and you slipped in just ahead of me. It's gonna be a HOT one here today. How about Pacifica?

bonachichi said...

Mo, No more biking for me. It's fun, but the days of pain afterward aren't worth it.

It was rainy-ish here. A perfect day for drinking a latté, except it's considered poor form to drink those past a certain time of day. Only a fool (or American) would drink that much milk on an already full stomach, or some nonsense. I try to follow the rules, even though I don't understand them.

bonachichi said...

Whab, time dilation and relativity? Did they kick you out of MIT for making fools of the professors? You have the mind to be a great man. A great man who lives in the tirlet.

bonachichi said...

SacBarb, I homeschooled my daughter from 4th grade on. The world was her classroom and she didn't learn just by reading about something.

I tried to make it fun for her while being a Nazi about homework. It had to be on time and if it wasn't good enough, she did it again. I know I'm lucky to have had that experience. I'd have been happy to have her in a public school if it was more than just a delinquent care program.

whabbear said...

SacBarb: "Bullet" worked great! We are able to do the whole trip on one tank of gas, with about 50 miles left over for in-town driving. I'm not getting the 700 miles per tank that they advertise... more like 550... but that's more than double what I got in my old car.

And Sirius satellite radio is fantastic! It's wonderful to be able to stay with the same station even over the 'vine!

'weenie: Indeed! I actually do that, I'm sorry to admit!

Bon: LOL! Actually, I was a certified math-phobe in school. That's why I went into cognitive psychology instead of astronomy or some other physical science... not nearly as much math!

Luckily, to get time dilation, all you need in the math department is the Pythagoran theorem (a squared equals b squared plus c squared). Seriously.

MEK in AZ said...

LOL -

MO, Just Lin, and sacBarb - no, it's not a "code word" and i wish it was just Tug rearranging..

we are actually MOVING ROCK!!

Whabby - yes, time seems to be flying by.. WOW, 550 miles to a tank - AMAZING......

waving howdy to whabby, bonacci, MO, Just lin and sacbarb - who landed after my last post!!
:-)

okay - need to go eat and finish what we started.....

MEK LOL @ you dancing like the guy in the vid, especially that last move of his. LOL

SacBarb It's overcast and gloomy on the coast today. I hope you A/C guy is able to take care of everything today. Maybe he'll be cute, too. That'll be a bonus.

bonachichi said...

Whab, I hope you put something in your blog about slingshot acceleration, the twin/time/velocity theory and all the other goodies that are fascinating but so difficult to understand fully (I don't). You live in a quantum world, my man.

bonachichi said...

I've been playing an Italian version of Trivial Pursuit with friends today. I've been the village idiot of the bunch.

Maureen said...

WHABBY...me, too! That is where I get some of my best and most creative work done!

SACBARB...glad you are finally getting your A/C fixed. Hopefully there will be the bonus of a hunky repairman.

JUST LIN...I just feel more stupid when I read WHABBY's blogs!!! Maybe I should read them in the "office", since maybe that is where they were written!!

BONACCI...is it time for gelato yet? I like strong coffee, but I couldn't handle it there! I always had to get a latte. They would call me the nina because the espresso was too damn strong for me to drink! One morning they made me a special espresso...more water and I still couldn't drink it!

bonachichi said...

Mo, I don't know how they drink espresso. Like they're doing shots. And they drink it after dinner, which ends around 9:00 or 10:00. It seems insane to me, but I seem insane to them.

iteach said...

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

sacBarb said...

Bear, I don't get the mileage promised either, but like you, it is much better than my old car. Now I wish I had gotten an Prius. My friend averages 45 mpg and I am very jealous.

sacBarb said...

Bonacci, how nice that you were able to do that for your daughter and that she could accompany you on your adventures.

sacBarb said...

J/L & Mo, The A/C guy was only here to give me an estimate on replacing the whole dang thing and the office called and asked if he could arrive earlier. So he got here at 2pm and checked everything out and gave me the bad news that I have to get another mortgage on my house to pay for it. YIKES!!!

P.S. He was hunky cute, 35 years old (I didn't ask, he told me) and very tall, but he won't be the one installing the new system. :(

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb I'm sorry to hear that the A/C is going to cost a lot. It really is a necessity up in your area, though. There's things here that I need to replace, like furniture and the tv, plus I need to do something about the hardwood floors. I keep putting it off. The floors will be a real pain in the butt to deal with.

East Bay J said...

Hi hooters,

Congrats on 1st Mo!

I haven't watched the video yet but will shortly.

We have been enjoying Nancy, she is so much fun! I have not taken any pictures of her yet but will tonight or tomorrow.

She slept through the night which we were happy about. Lots of energy in that tiny kitty, plus a huge appetite! We can't believe how much she eats.

MR. E just got out of the pool, I am on babysitting duty so didn't swim today.

I must march to 69! Can't believe it's still sitting here!

Just_Lin said...

EBJ Congrats on 69! I bet you're having the best time with Nancy. What does Poe think of her?

iteach I hope you're having a nice weekend, too.

My old cat is in kidney failure so now I will be giving her fluids under the skin, Leukeran injections to boost her red blood cell count, and antibiotics to treat an infection. Generally speaking, this has not been a good day.

Maureen said...

JUST LIN...I'm sorry you have having such a hard time with your kitty today. Positive thoughts to you and you kitty. {{hugs}}

EBJ...glad Nancy seems to be fitting in nicely to your home. Enjoy the weekend with her. Congratz on 69!

SACBARB...That sucks about the price of the new unit. Can you maybe just out in a couple of room window air conditioners and wait to replace the central system? Can you get stimulus money to replace the system with an energy efficient model? Check with your electric company, sometimes they give rebates, too. Good luck my dear.

ITEACH...sooooo nice to see you! Come back soon, ok?

Just_Lin said...

MO Thanks for the kind words about my cat. Also, that was an excellent idea for SacBarb to check with the electric company regarding rebates, etc.

SacBarb Another idea is to ask the A/C repair people if they give senior discounts and see if you qualify. A lot of places do have those discounts but don't say anything unless you ask.

East Bay J said...

JL I am sooo sorry to read about your kitty. Wow I can sure relate to what you are going through, we did the sub-q fluids for 1 1/2 years with Paula.

Wish we lived closer so I could help you out.

Just an fyi and you may already know this. I am just telling you from experience with Paula.

Cats who get kidney failure are prone to getting high blood pressure, which can cause retinal detachment. Paula really went down hill and died a month after her diagnosis with high bp. Her retinas were detached, but her sight improved after starting the bp med.

Maybe you can ask your vet to prescribe preventative med, Paula was given Norvasc.

Poe has been meowing a lot more since Nancy arrived, and calling Lilly (our dog that died).

We put them kind of nose to nose and they sniffed each other. She has to learn that he is her friend and we want her to grow up to not want to stalk him.

She is very tiny but really energetic and a huge appetite. She is cuddled up with her "daddy" right now and he is totally eating it up.

SacBarb sorry about the a/c... that sux! Hopefully you will get some good eye candy while they install it!

Mo had a very good idea, and I think PG&E offers some rebates for things. Not sure exactly what but would def. be worth checking out.

Carol how was your day at the shore?

This day just flew by! I was gone til early afternoon and I'm not sure where the rest of the day went.

bbl

East Bay J said...

JL one more thing. Our vet gave Paula medication called Convenia, it is a time released injection of antibiotics. It was a godsend for Paula, who absolutely hated getting the Clavamox liquid or even worse, the pills!

She would just get the 1 shot when she got a bladder infection. It's a wonderful thing!

sacBarb said...

Mo, J/L, EBJ, I have checked out rebates and the Feds give a $1500 tax credit which I can claim when I do my taxes and PG&E gives a $300 rebate. Both of these are only if the unit installed meets the energy requirements, which the one I am having installed, does. But I still have to pay for it first and wait for the rebates.

J/L, I didn't think about the senior discount, but I will ask. Thanks. I'm sorry your kitty isn't doing well. I will keep positive thoughts for you both.

Maureen said...

SACBARB...can you take out a home equity loan, then when the rebates come put them to the principle of the loan.

sacBarb said...

Mo, The A/C company will carry the loan for 6 months interest free if it is paid off within that time. I am going to the credit Union on Monday to see what kind of loan I can get from them or maybe a line of credit. The total for the A/C is $9,000 so I'm not sure I can pay it within the 6 months. Had I known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have done my kitchen. Oh well....I do love my kitchen.

whabbear said...

SacBarb, I am so sorry to hear about this A/C expense! I've been meaning to ask whether the State government cuts are going to affect your pension?

sacBarb said...

Bear, It better not affect my pension! So far it looks good for the retirees. The people that are still working have really had it rough, though. They have already taken a 10% cut and are looking at another 5% cut in salary. And the governator is looking to punish all CA taxpayers because none of his props passed in the special election. Somehow he is going to get that money out all of us.

Just_Lin said...

EBJ Thanks for the info. I have a re-check appointment for the cat in two weeks and I will ask about bp. I used to have 40 cats and have been through renal failure with them before but never had bp problems. This cat will be 19 in two months so I don't expect she will be around much longer. She has no problem with taking the clavamox liquid, fortunately.

Sacbarb I'm glad you'll get rebates at least. Maybe it's good you didn't know this would happen or you would have talked yourself out of getting your nice, new kitchen that brings you enjoyment.

MEK in AZ said...

SacBarb - sorry to hear about the cost to replace the AC -

Just Lin - sending positive thoughts for you and your kitty!

EBJ - glad you guys are enjoying having Nancy home with you..

MO - I totally agree - when I read Whabby's blogs - I don't feel very smart!!

Iteach - waving howdy!! good to see you..

cpgem - hope you enjoyed the Jersey Shore today - will be thinking of you as you sit in church tomorrow!! It's always sad to hear someone preach for the last time..

I'm going to bed early - hope I can move in the a.m. - I used muscles today, i forgot I had!!

I hope everyone has an excellent Sunday!

Good night Owls. I am going to shut it down for the night and dream of cool breezes. :) Sweet dreams to you all.

Dianne/Denver said...

Hi...checking in for a late night hello and good night to all my great owl friends.

I had a busy day today with going to oldest grandson's baseball at noon and then went to the movie with my daughter and girls to see UP. It was ok...many children in that audience. Husband and SIL went to see Star Trek and dinner for a guys night. We are busy tomorrow too with meeting a couple of girlfriends for brunch and then going to my nephews for dinner later. Whew....at least all this gets me out of "cooking."

J/L; Sorry to hear about your cat. It sounds like you are going to be a nurse for awhile...I guess you call it a vet nurse..or something close.

SACBARB: WOW...expensive air-conditioning. It's like me with getting the letter from the IRS that our taxes were wrong for 2007 for 800 or 900...and I am thinking we shouldn't have gone on our little vacation a couple of weeks ago...oh well...it's only $$, right?

Dianne/Denver said...

CAROL: How was your day at the shore? Was your weather nice? Hope so.

TINA: Your blog dancing made me laugh..I didn't get to watch it until tonight so it will make me go to bed with a smile!! BUT..IT won't make me wake up whistling like GOLDIE!!

Mary/MI said...

I couldn't sleep so i thought I would check in.

MO, I had to comment on what you said on the school system. I am happy to report that my Grandson Logan graduated with "high honors". Over half of the 125 graduated "with honors".

OK, I'm done bragging lol!

I was busy all day. I hate dust and dirty floors. You can imagine what it was like here after 2 wks! My son is a great house and dog sitter, but not so good at housework. I did make one demand,er, request, that was to keep the terlet clean!!

I am going to try to sleep again. Long day tomorrow, lots to do.

Good night to everyone.

I see you lurkers :) nightie night!

SacBarb, I'd have apoplexy over having to replace an a/c.

Just_Lin, I'm sorry to hear about your kitty.

I protest government in a passive agressive manner by writing in Dave Barry for President. He runs for each election as a joke but I think the punch-line is that he gets votes.

Over here, Obama's gone from Belle of the Ball to Carrie.

I've had my breakfast, not let's see what we can see today!
