Mo~ Those were hilarious~ thanks for sending the blog~
BAM!!
Maureen have you been reading Dianne's diary again?
Good moaning Tina and DeeDee.
Oh, my heavens, that is so funny. I'm going to share with my ma, I think she will get a kick out of it.
Good Moaning back at ya~~
MO- Fabulous! We can all relate no matter when you were born!
Kind of reminds me of when my child asked me if they had french fries when I was little. I remember telling him "yes, and they had already invented the wheel too". Went over his head...........
Happy Hump Day everyone- I got pics of baby M last night, he is so precious. Keep your fingers crossed for him please!
Oh my gosh! Loved those quotes, Mo. I always ask my dad about the "olden" days (still). He gets angry. I remember thinking $300k was too much for a house. Then I sold that house for $787k after 10 years. Yep. Inflation.
Just_Lin; The "I'm trying" was in response to Tina telling me (rightfully so) to stop being so pissy. I liked that she didn't hold back.
My next adventure... How about a day where NOTHING HAPPENS. That would be exotic for me.
HA HA SHIRLEY: So you think these comments are from my diary......SO.....what if they are and we were keeping it a secret and now you told. BTW, some came from a couple of other "nameless" owls diary's too...right BARB AND MARY?
I am just checking in really quick as off to get ready for physical appt and not looking forward to it one dang bit----like who would??
GOOD MORNING....TINA, DEEDEE, SHIRLEY, GOLDIE, JENNIER AND CHICHII ....and I see you J/L in Area 51---lots of you.
Noticed 1st today was a tie again between DEEDEE AND TINA--HMMM., interesting a two way with them...:)
SHIRLEY: I miss your beautiful sunshine avatar...it perks me up....come out and turn on the light!!!
Dianne I think Barb and Mary were just babies in 1955.
my first car was a 1953 Lincoln Capri convertible.....it was $3500.00....and that was considered "high end" at the time....
I read the other day that cigarettes were $14.50 per pack at Grand Central....
The only thing I still find amazing in regard to this info today... is that you can mail a letter for 44 cents anywhere in the country... and it gets there....usually in one piece...
Holy Buckets, I can't imagine a house for $300,000. I think my town has maybe about ten houses in that range and only one in $700,000.
We bought our house 9 years ago for $80,000 and it is still worth $80,000. LOL However, I would not trade it for the world. I brought all my babies home in this old house. I am very grateful that the Mr. didn't even ask for the house or any money from it. It is all mine and I didn't have to give him one dime. Very grateful....
Hi, owls! Just got caught up with yesterday.
Jennifer: He wants divorce but benefits? OMG! Men are pigs! Deny, deny!
Shirley: Stay away from that dark place. It feeds on itself. We've got your back!
Goldie: The discussion about ground zero two days ago motivated me to go back and read more history on just how Hitler rose to power. Amazing story. Very interesting reading!
I would love to tap into the collective wisdom of the surviving Germans who lived through that era about what advice they would have concerning the "early warning signs" that they wished now they had heeded.
Jennifer....lol...a penthouse apartment in London recently sold for $220,000,000.00...
check it out....

oops.....a Russian one-upped that one.....
Villa Leopolda Sold For $750 Million To Russian Oligarch

it is so HOT here!! When is it going to cool off?!?
I drove out around the lake and it is so low the fish are having to take turns......sad....
I just spent my lunch hour talking to 'M' about her thoughts on the Mosque issue.
She emailed me and asked for my # because she said that she felt she could better explain herself.
I asked if I could quote her-she said yes, however being a public blog she didn't want her name please, because of her children.
I took notes, so I will put things together tonight and post her response tonight or tomorrow. Ok?
Ummmm SHIRLEY; I was friggin' 9 years old in 1955....you have me mixed up with someone else that bought cars in 1953!!!!
I'm sitting right here Dianne!! Behind the drapes....
Whoops....Hi DEEDEE....why are you under those drapes? Are you hiding from us? Truth be told....you look silly!!!
Goldie, I think your "post" would be an excellent blog. Surely it's worth devoting an entire day to?
DeeDee, when did you get your first broomstick?
Jennifer, the real estate in CA is obscene. You could get twice the house for half the price elsewhere.
And....take off those glasses inside ....you look like Ray Charles....with a cigar
ROFLMAO at Dianne!! Ray Charles....omg!!
Binaca....
I don't recall ever having owned a broom....but I do recall someone telling me once that they cause blisters on your hands....if you touch them that is....
Mo: I wasn't born yet, I was born in 1962~! But, Mr. B was born in 1955. Fun blog~!
Heidi: Can't wait to hear what she has to say!
DeeDee: Your "Bam"..made me smile..!
Tina: Congrats on first.
Shirley: I agree with DeeDee, I like the Sun so much better..hope you are doing okay today.
if you listen to the Keith Olberman video that I posted on the mosque topic....he says that there has been a mosque VERY near ground Zero since before there even was a WTC.....with nary a problem.....
The proposed sight is 5 blocks away in an old Burlington Coat Factory Space......you can't even see it from GZ and vice versa......
Most of the business in that area have been long gone since 9/11....this project might have been the beginning of a revitalization of the area.....
Watch Keith....he tells the whole thing the way it needs to be told...
Dianne: I hope your appointments go well! :)
30 just cause.
Keith Olbermann Special Comment: There Is No 'Ground Zero Mosque' - 08/16/10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZpT2Muxoo0
DeeDee- I watched the program that night. I don't watch him usually, but I was flipping channels and with the blog and all I sat and watched.
I think you may be right Bonachichi- perhaps a blog about it.
Perhaps I should post the picture of me trying out NEW Brooms one day last year...:)
DeeDee, never would I even entertain that thought that you USE a broom in the traditional sense. I'd thought you used it for transportation. Quick flybys, you know.
I watched that Olberman vid. One of the things I'd thought of (but no way in heck would I admit to at the time) was that the mosque might be a target for wackos. People should be able to worship in peace...
I stole a news program from the internet (I don't get your fancy schmancy television here) and it said the same thing as Olberman except that it might be the symbol rather than the religion people aren't comfortable with. I'm just the messenger...
well I blame the government agency's that spearheaded the attack for using the Muslims as the attackers thereby vilifying them in America....
But it was important regarding where they wanted to invade...rape...and pillage...
But then again... Arabs have always been vilified here.....remember Jafar in Aladdin?
We have been conditioned to be afraid of them...so I guess they were a pretty good choice to exploit our fears and freedoms..
A lot of Americans must like being made fools of....so many fall for every little thing that the media puts out there...
If the real truth of 9/11 ever is told....there will be a lot of people with egg on their faces...
I wish it could be corn...talk about yer ka-ching!!
Well I'm not afraid of Arabs. Middle Eastern guys are HOT!! And they've got large "assets".
Is this color better?
Shirley: I think it's a little better :)
For the record, I was not yet born in 1955!!
DIANNE...I would never tell what I read in your diary :)~
TINA...you're welcome!
The real estate market is crazy ass right now. My friend has had her house on the market since February and not even a nibble. It's a really nice house and spotless with many upgrades. Already lowered the price 3 times. However in CA, the house would be 4 times as much.
SHIRLEY...lighten it up a few more shades, ok? {{hugs}}
When my dad died, my mom sold the first house they had purchased and were renting out...for $1800!! That was in 1967! They bought it in 1952 or 3.
I was asking my co-worker if she ever heard of certain things (she's 25) and had never heard of macrame, rotary phones and a ton of TV shows we loved as kids!!
Damn, I DO feel old!
Maureen you WEREN'T even born yet in 1955? Really???
SHIRLEY...I would say I wasn't even a thought, but my parents were tryingfor years for me :)~
Ya know, I haven't called you a "tart" in a while...you're a tart!
As long as I'm a sugar free tart...got to watch those sugar levels you know.
Bonachichi!!
I didn't know your are Vietnamese!!
Hi hooters,
Those were really great, Mo!
I wasn't around then either, but do remember paying 50 cents a pack when I used to smoke.
Shirley love the blue!
Goldie I am interested to hear what that woman has to say. Looking forward to your blog!
Mo, the real estate situation here is terrible. There is a house down the street from me that has been for sale since we moved here, over 2 1/2 years ago.
They are completely unrealistic in their asking price, they've come down but not nearly enough.
I feel completely boring tonight, so I will spare you guys!
Wait. I'm Vietnamese? When did that happen? HOW did that happen?
DeeDee, if you're referring to my avatar (nobody's doing anything stupid, what d'ya know?) is my friend who is caucasian. She's in India and she got her hand hennad. hennaed. henna-d? How the hell do you spell that? She's got a Henna Hand. There.
EBJ- You are never a bore! :)
Shirley blue is soooo my favorite color. Speaking of blue where is our Happy Blue Kathy?
DeeDee those prices are outrageous for somewhere to live. Holy Buckets! I think I will stick to my small town with our small prices. However, I do have dreams of a second bathroom and new windows. They are on my saving up wish list. If I stick to my savings plan I will have new windows this summer!
Dee..
I have certainly heard of other stories of the 9/11 theory, Rosie totally believes of this other theory. I however do not, I feel 9/11 was a attack on America by terrorists, funded by terrorists, driven by their love of Allah. These terrorists do not believe that we have religious beliefs and because of this, they must prove to us that they will kill themselves and others in the name of Allah..
I do have a open mind and have read about this other theory. But my mind has not be changed..
I saw you posted a link to a vid, I am going to watch it, I am very curious of his views..
Goldie..
Looking forward to your comment/blog..
Shirley..
I like your blue.. It reminds me of the happy blue I also send Zona..
:O)
Jennifer..
Just saw your comment on happy blue Zona, after I posted mine.. I guess we think alike..
:O)
Ok.. so I watched the vid, and truly understand everything he said.. that is his view.. my view has not changed..
Glad I watched the vid tho, because it allowed me to understand the mosque/center better..
I think what I see and feel is (and yes this is just my view) the respect level that goes along with the worship of Allah two blocks north of the WTC (2 1/2 min walk). If anything, the ppl who were horribly killed on 9/11 certainly did not die in peace, they died in fear. The least we can give them is to rest in peace.
Dianne..
I hope your appt went well.. and you are feeling better..
Goldie..
Fingers are still crossed.. and toes!
J/L..
I see you in area 51.. :O)
Hope things calm down for ya.. I sure do know how stressful life can get!
Jennifer..
LOL.. on still work 80Thousand.. :)
Mo. and Shirley..
LOL.. on tart, and sugar free tart!
:O)
Hello Owls. I hope you all had a good day. I am still trying to recover from my little vacation. We got very little sleep and I haven't had that much to drink since I can't remember when.
Zona woke me up at 9am and I had a nail appointment at noon. After I got home I talked to Lynn, then I took a nap to get rid of a thunderous headache (not from talking to Lynn). I slept on and off til almost 8pm and I am still tired. I still have not caught up on the past blogs or comments. Maybe tomorrow.
I did read this blog and I can remember most of those tings. BTW, Shirley, I was 12 in 1955.
Jennifer, Zona's compter died and she had a date with the Dell technician two days in a row and I think he is coming back tomorrow. It's all very suspicious to me. I wonder if Mr. Z knows.
Goodnight everyone. I am going to catch up on more sleep.
Hello, HOoters!
MO I was 8 in 1955. I do remember as a teen, my friends and I could just gather some coins among us and buy enough gas to cruise around all evening, driving by all the hangouts, etc. Ah, those were the good old days. Of course, people's pay checks were teeny weeny, too.
DeeDee I really enjoyed your blog about the mosque. I guess I am undecided about it. What better way to emphasize our freedom of religion than to allow the mosque. It would be like announcing, "You will not make us change our values", dont' you think? It is, to my understanding, 5 city blocks away, which seems a respectful distance. The terrorists may have been Muslim, but I think we can all agree that all Muslims are not terrorists. Then again, maybe it's still too soon.
On a different topic: DeeDee Some of your comments in the last few days had me ROFLMAO! Branch Dividians, indeed! LOL LOL LOL
SacBarb It sounds like you really wore yourself out. What a party animal you are! Get some rest, will ya? I'm glad you had such a good time.
Goldie Thank you for sharing the story of your parents. You touched my heart.
EBJ I feel boring most of the time. :(
Tina Are you still moaning and not in a good way?
Shirley Sending hugs. I hope it helps in some small way.
Jennifer I'm glad you have the house. I bet there are wonderful things in store for you in the future.
Bonach You pissy? Never!
I should have broken that post up sooner but I forgot.
Carol I see you too, Lovely Lady. Again, I'm so glad dad's tests came out well. I'll try to send quotes again.
Bebbi I hope this was one of the good days for you. Since I started exercising, I haven't lost much weight but I have lost inches so I am feeling good about that.
Bear Waving wildly at you. We actually had a sunny day here on the coast. Shocked me, actually. Isn't that sad?
Sweet dreams, HOoters.
See what happens BARB when you hang out with a Bronco loving fan....tons of fun and drinking too. Now tell me the truth ..... did you give her your bag or did she steal it?
60 and good night....
Good Morning everyone!
I'm off to work. Today and tomorrow are teacher institute days, so no kids until Monday.
I'm really really missing my own kids already as I look at my two of my kid's sleeping in my bed.
Oh, man looks like one of them drank too much before they went to bed. So like maybe that part I won't miss.
