SNL....Did it again!
This is absolutely priceless, I would think most of you have seen this, however I had to post this video today.
Tina Fey as Sarah, and Amy Poehler as Hillary did such a great job, and the facial expressions are so "right on". Since Sarah Palin's nomination I have been wondering about Hillary's reaction, and what she is thinking, this video parody is in sync with my thoughts. Amy Poehler's Hillary is a riot, her stance is so very much the same as Hillary's. Tina Fey's possess Sarah's primp and properness, as well as the Alaskan accent, it is so parallel to Sarah's
You just wonder how the heck they come up with these parodies. I would have loved to be in the writers room when this skit was being written, just so I could watch these writers and their amazing minds do their thing!

I got word that RONNIE and her family are all safe. She has no power at her home, so she is still at her daughter's house. Her cell phone was not working, but she was finally able to get a call out.
I don't know when she will return home, but I am sure that as soon as she can, she will stop in and say hello to all.

I am so happy we received word from Ronnie. I was really getting worried. At least she is with her family and not in a shelter. The people in shelters must be getting very tired and frustrated.

Carol Thanks for the laugh. I turned SNL on too late for the opening skit so missed this. What a riot! They both did an excellent job. It must have been hysterical in the writer's room. I bet their best lines were unsuitable for airing but even funnier.

Yep, Sandie. I agree with your hubby. I spent almost 20 years in Employee Benefit Plan administration going to quarterly investment meetings with the boards of corporations touting the old "The answer is 80%/20%. What's the question?" mantra about NOT looking at the short term. I'm finding that harder to do as I watch the bit I left in my deferred comp, to keep up with inflation, lose 22% since I retired less than one year ago!
However, this has been coming for a LONG time. This is the day I was fearing back when I posted the link to the 'Selling of American Icons' article, and how we couldn't afford to stay in the war(s) if it weren't for debt to China. This is a sea change moment in the future of the U.S.
I'm out of 'the loop' now. I didn't realize until I started getting most of my news from BBC radio lately, that the I.M.F. (Int'l Monetary Fd) experts have been quietly meeting with U.S. government and financial leaders for months 'scolding them' as they do Third-World nations that the end is near if it isn't fixed NOW. Sadly, I think today is only the beginning. Definitely time for The Serenity Prayer.
***Now, back to regularly scheduled fun and games***

I spoke to RONNIE briefly on my way home from work. She is back home. Her power was restored either late last night or early this morning. She is without air conditioning as a tree fell on her ac unit. But everything else seems to be ok. She did have to toss almost everything in her fridge and freezer. But the main thing is she and her family are all safe.

Thank you to each of you for all your emails and comment postings and prayers. Everyone has been so loving and caring, I guess that's why I think so much of you.
My family and I are all fine, but down with 'cabin fever'. I'm home and have everything I need but air conditioning and cable, (tree fell on my A.C. unit). The streets look like a war zone and so silent. Some of the most beautiful trees are uprooted and laying on their sides across houses and yards. I have water, but they have asked us to continue boiling it for any needs, but drink only bottled water. It's really sad to see some of the shops and homes destroyed, etc. We also have a nighttime curfew, that I'm happy about. It's only 'stuff' and the important things are all okay.
Happy Belated Birthday Iteach, I hope you had a great day...with three little children and a wonderful husband, how could it not have been a fun day. Shirley, congrats on your new glasses. I bet you look so sophisticated. Again, Grandma Lynn, he's a cutie.
