Happy Mother's Day!

A mother's love determines how
We love ourselves and others.
There is no sky we'll ever see
Not lit by that first love.

Stripped of love, the universe
Would drive us mad with pain;
But we are born into a world
That greets our cries with joy.

How much I owe you for the kiss
That told me who I was!
The greatest gift--a love of life--
Lay laughing in your eyes.

Because of you my world still has
The soft grace of your smile;
And every wind of fortune bears
The scent of your caress.

Morning Tina, Mo and Shirley!

Tina how sweet that your daughter had your lunch ready for you!

Mo hope the winds have died down in your area!

Shirley ((((Hugs)))) I hope the day gives you some smiles.

I came home yesterday and Mr. Lynn D and my son had pulled out the stove and cleaned under it and behind it. I had said I needed to do that and did not have time. So Happy Mothers day to me! They are also cooking me my favorite dinner tonight.

Bebbilane said...

LynnD: I really REALLY liked your blog. I am sorry I couldn't be around yesterday to comment. I LOVE how you had such insight and remembered all the things we did. I am terrible with my memory and all the wonderfulness just blends together in my poor soupy head sometimes. That was such a great blog and it really was well thought out and well written. I will never forget the way your eyes lit up when they had the Skyy vodka..lol. You were so cute! :) And that was a good idea with the lottery tickets, it would have been so nice if one of us had won!!
Thank you.

Okay..I still have family in so I should be on here but Happy Mother's Day to all and I hope that everyone has a really blessed day. I was up and down crying with joy yesterday and it was really wonderful. Thanks for all the Congrats on Facebook. My daughter made me change my status when were in at the ceremony. She's so funny. :)

Be back later after some family heads out and after I work out. I ATE too much!! AGAIN! These weekends are killing my good healthy choices.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's and Happy Sunday to the non-Mom's. I'm just popping in before I leave for brunch and a movie with my oldest son. I hope you all have a great day.

Carol, that is a beautiful blog. It reminds me of the Beatles song Love Is All We Need.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms in the nest!

For those of us who aren't mom's, Happy Sunday!

Carol, it took me a minute to figure out what IS meant.

What a nice visual you have created, 3 gorgeous young men cleaning the house!

Yowwzzzza!!!!!!

Maybe they should consider starting up a business... you might wanna mention it :)

What's the deal with Mother's Day. The one day of the year when you're nice to your Mum? If you ask me, it was invented by Hallmark and the floral industry.

If you care about your Mum, where are you the other 364 days of the year?

Flowers and meals seem to be the big "gifts" this year. Flosers die after about a week, then you have to clean up soggy stems and stinky water. If I want a meal, I either prepare it myself or order it in.

My phone's been ringing off the hook by people who aren't my kids, wishing me Happy Mother's day. I have better things to do.

I know. I'll be unpopular for this post, but this Mother's Day crap rally drives me nuts.

bonachichi said...

Oh, I wanted to mention that whilst all of what I wrote is the truth (according to me), but I also thought it might be good for the comments after the Chicago Love Fest... comments seem to dropped off to about 13 people since that grand Tour.

Happy Mother's Day!! Whether you're a Mom or not.....:O) All of us are caretakers in one form or another.

TINA - You're looking gorgeous today....your lipstick matches your nails!!

CAROL - What beautiful words. Thank you!! Enjoy the BBQ with your family!

MOHO - Has the wind died down? I hope you're not having the gloomy weather we did yesterday.

SHIRLEY - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Enjoy the day with your Mom ♥

LYNN - I guess I got a peaceful house. Paul took the boys fishing today.

BEBBI - Glad all went well yesterday. And thank you...well you know ;)

WHABBY - Thank you!!

BARB - What movie are you seeing? Enjoy your day!!

EBJ - Waving a wing @ you!!

SLIN - Hey pretty lady!!

MARY - Turkey sounds yummy!! I bet the Tart Ale would be the perfect compliment to it.....;)

BONACHICHI - Got a burr up your ass today?!!?

Mary/MI said...

Bonachi, get a grip! It is a day set aside to honor those who have nurtured us. It won't last long. Most of us honor our Mothers and Fathers ever day. My Mom is gone and I still honor her.
Yes, the commercialization is there. It is there for every holiday. I just ignore.
As for the slow blogs, you should know by now, we have some slow days. We do have other things to do :)
Have a sweet day!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY AND HAPPY SUNDAY!!! Very nice blog, CAROL. I think back today of the wonderful Mother's Days I was able to spend with my mother...good memories for sure.

We are waiting for my kids to come and pick us up to go up in the mountains to just a little place we like for a late lunch/early dinner. We went there for Easter too. I don't want my daughter to cook since it is her Mother's Day too.

Happy First TINA..... LYNND...How nice for your husband and son to do that without even being asked. I like that part the best!! What is your favorite meal that they will be fixing you?

BEBBI: Congratulations to your son and your family. I am sure your son is very excited...quite a milestone to finish and on his way to the big old world.

SACMARY/BARB: What movie are you going to see? I highly recommend the JLO movie as I mentioned in Area 51. It was just what "the doctor ordered" tons of laughs.

CAROL: Put me on that cleaning list....money no object to have those guys over here naked cleaning....could you plan it when MRD goes to visit his mom? Thanks

Kids are here....have a good day and hello to MO, J/L,, SHIRLEY, EBJ, BEAR, BONACHICHI, MARY AND JODI....thinking of each and every one of you today and sending hugs to all and a big old hug to you TINA since you like them so much!!

MARY - Muah ♥

DIANNE - I thought you were going to Hooters?!!? ;) Enjoy the time with your family ♥

Bebbilane said...

Bonachichi: Oops..I am sorry, I was one of the "rings' taking you "off the hook"..lol. That is understandable you feel that way. Sometimes it is a hard day for some people. or, it may be just the commercialization irritates you. I feel that way about Christmas more than I ever have lately. Maybe that will change when I have grandkids. But, hey, I felt like yesterday was more my "Mother's Day" than today because of my son graduating and being so close with family all in and everything.

Bebbilane said...

Carol: I loved the poem too..and the decorations..the page is so bright and cheery.

Mary: Thanks for noticing my "motherly" nature. :) Glad I could be of help at the meeting. :) Did you eat your 5 fruits & veggies today? haha.

Bebbilane said...

So, I am back from the graduation..going to download pictures. The funniest thing was..I was taking all the pictures and didn't get any of them with me and my son. :( Friends tried to take but as some of you know my camera doesn't have the screen on the back(broken) and it was hard for people to figure it out. My SIL may have one or two because she brought a camera. My Mom had her camera stolen a couple of weeks ago so she wasn't able to take pics either.

bonachichi said...

Bebbi, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. The commercialization of Mother's Day. I know people mean well.

However, those of us who spend 365 days a year, showing Mum me care (Shirley comes to mind, I think), then to have absentee brother/sister order flowers via telephone/credit card once a year and think they've "showed" how much they care need a hot poker shoved up their arse.

If I was a Mum 364 days out of 365, I'd be a terrible parent. The same goes for Father's day. How many of us know there's a Grandparent's day. Put them away in a nursing home and visit once a year? I just don't buy it.

And what about the poor souls who have to paint on a smile and pretend to be thrilled by the fact their lazy kids "remember" them on these days. A slap in the face, if you ask me.

We should honor our parents everyday (Carol, you do a good job of that), not just some day in May or June.

bonachichi said...

Jodi, Mary & anyone else I may have offended regarding the MWM&G; I do think it's wonderful that you all got together and had a wonderful time. Of course, you're going to want to share your experiences. No fault in that. My choice in words was probably more than improper...

Being 10,000 km from all the action though, and wanting to be there with the rest of you, left me feeling as if maybe I had no business partcipating. What could I add? I wasn't there. Instead, I was "alone", moving around daily to strange places with strange people. Call it jealousy, if you want. Familiar friends, relaxing and sharing common interests. Yes, I enjoyed learning about all you the M&G owls, but that reality wasn't mine. Now though, I'm back to being as close to "normal" as I can be.

And yes, I have a burr up my arse. Not news to anyone I know. I was born with it. I don't mind the teasing... It's welcome, so fire away!

Bebbilane said...

Thanks everyone for the congratulation!! :) I appreciate it.

Okay..went to dinner with everyone for Mother's Day...woot woot. Son is putting in my Peony plant and daughter is taking my car for the week..haha. I NEED A NAP and I have gained about 20 lbs.

bonachichi said...

Bebbi, cuddle up with me... I never sleep during the day but dang, I'm tired. Congrats on your college grad. You'll walk that 20 lbs off in no time.

It that's you on my missed call queue, I'm sorry I missed it. I was working earlier and I didn't hear my phone. I'll call you back later... maybe tomorrow?

Also, to all the Mums out there, your selflessness should be acknowledged... just not once a year. Every day, more like it!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY BONACHICHI!!!!

Shirley(NCC-1701) said...

Sorry for yelling but that's the only way you can hear me...I have lost my voice. I have had a sore throat the last couple of days and now my voice is just a whisper. Of course standing outside for an hour in cold winds waiting for my sister to come pick me up probably didn't help. Plus the fact that she hung up on me and I was walking around my apartment cursing her out and yelling (she wasn't here) probably didn't help either. But I went to mum's (after a friend drove by and stopped to offer me a lift), we had our fish dinner...they ate chocolate pie and brownies, but I couldn't, and all ended fairly well. I hope you all had a nice day. Got to go watch Amazing Race!

Bebbilane said...

Shirley: Sorry you lost your voice...ugh. I hate laryngitis.

Bonachichi: Thanks for the cuddle! I was going to go and try to take a nap but now it is too close to bed time anyway. I am just pooped with a capital P! ....!

It's so nice and quiet here after all the excitement. I need a few weeks to recover..haha.

Jodi said...

BONACHICHI - I had to work today. More than 1 customer made a comment about me working on Mother's Day....and my standard reply is that I'm a mother EVERYDAY!!!

I do think it is a nice holiday to honor Mothers. Mine was a bit sad this year after losing my Grandma in March. Although I truly believe she is in a better place. It's been 11 years since I've been able to spend Mother's Day with my own Mom. Thankfully I have a very special German Mother that has adopted me and I got to see her yesterday ♥

Jodi said...

SHIRLEY - Some nice green tea will help!! Take care of yourself and I hope you're feeling better soon!!

Bebbilane said...

It's so quiet in my house now..weird! I got used to the activity.

Jodi said...

BEBBI - Enjoy the peace & quiet....I did today!!

Bebbilane said...

I will...!

Bebbilane said...

I am so sad..I don't have one picture of me with my son on his graduation. One person tried to take the picture with my camera and I didn't make sure and there is no pic of me at all that day. Not one. I hate to be so bummed about that..I wish I had checked my camera. :( Oh brother. Sorry for whining everyone but it makes me want to cry.

Bebbilane said...

Yay for son's gf..she found one at least with Paul and I in it. :)

Bonacci..

There are quite a number of ppl that I am sure feel the same as you do, as far as Mothers Day go.. I would not call it a unpopular comment as its your opinion. But I will say, it will be agreed upon by few..

I enjoy Mothers Day, it makes the Moms feel special.. which they so deserve to feel..

My mother and SIL were both thrilled today.. and that was the game plan..

night.owls.sb said...

EBJ..

Glad you enjoyed the visual.. lol

night.owls.sb said...

Bebbilane said...

Carol: It sounds like a great day! :) Even a cake, how nice! :)

My son's girlfriend found one that she took on her camera phone of me taking a picture standing on a chair (I put it on FB) and she thought it was cute so she snapped the shot. That has Paul and I in it so I am feeling a little better. Also, sad because it's all over and I love my family so much... So, I guess the emotions got the better of me.

Dianne: I hope the trip to the Mountains was good. Sounds like fun! :)
