OMG, what an amazing weekend I had. I am so blessed to have been able to spend my first vacation with such an awesome group of people. And especially blessed to have it extend a day with one more awesome friend.
I knew that I would like you all, even as different and diverse as we all are, there are 2 common threads. One is each of you (and I say this about even those of you that couldn't attend) have a GIGANTIC heart. (I don't mean an enlarged heart...not a good thing!!) When you type a hug, I know it is for real and heartfelt.
And the second is the wit that you each have...so hilarious! I laughed so hard! I am surprised there were no leaky moments!
Even though you didn't ask, I am going to give my take on my friends...
CAROL...Is incredible. I know that this was out of her regular comfort zone and for her to organize this and be there showed the strength and dedication she has to her friends. (we already knew that about her and her family) She has the most generous spirit and her kindness is not lost on me. And her pictures don't do justice to her eyes! Oh and I didn't notice any Joisey accent!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
TINA...Is so much taller then I imagined her to be! I imagined her to be teeny and petite and she is tall and THIN. And I found her to be quieter then I imagined, but still slinging the zingers! So funny. And so sweet. She made numerous runs to the airport so people didn't have to take the shuttle. And I got her to admit which of her kids she dislikes the least ;)~ Tina also gave me a new perspective on a matter and I thank her for that. I rolled over and mentioned that to JON this morning :)~
LYNN D...You can see her compassion in her posts and I was honored to meet her and witness her compassion and passion in person. I was surprised that she is not as tall as I imagined her to be. I guess I always thought of the green M&M as the tallest one, so I imagined her tall...5'8" or 5'9"!! The fact that she gives so much to so many is no surprise, especially after meeting her. And despite what you may have heard, she doesn't make people cry!
MARY... (the real one!) is a little spitfire! Mary is funny as hell and to cute for words. I wish she could have stayed a little longer so I could have conversed with her more. Oh, and she asks people very personal sexual questions! And makes a hell of a delish cookie!! My mouth is still watering!
BARB...(the fake Mary) is so kind and caring. If she was older, I would think of her as my mom! And another funny lady. I figured it out...she missed her plane because she was listening for them to announce MARY not BARB! Hmmm, what is LINDA'S excuse! It is an honor sharing my JBJ with her!
BIRDEE...is cute as a button! And the most contagious laugh. It was so sweet of her to come to the hotel and visit and then again so we could have lunch today. She is a bit of a stubborn bird, but it is only because she is so caring. Did I mention she is hilarious?
I put both MARY'S and BIRDEE together because it is true what they say about the best things come in small packages!!
LINDA...can you say younger and even more beautiful Elizabeth Taylor? When I read her posts, I can imagine her typing them. They are as soft spoken yet powerful as she is. The voice of reason. And have you seen her eyes? OMG!
JODI...what a cook! She always said she makes the best potato salad and SHE DOES! So kind to bring it for us to indulge in. Jodi is funny and sensitive and wears her heart on her sleeve. If she says it, she means it. I know every tear came from deep within her heart.
GOLDIE...I felt like I knew her my whole life. She and Mr. GOLDIE are the perfect couple. Both so nice, funny, smart and sweet as all hell. We def had the best table at dinner!! The conversation NEVER suffered a lag.
BEBBI...so compassionate and nurturing. Funny and beautiful...like a younger and thinner Nia Vardalis. Generous and kind. And much more quiet then I imagined her to be! I got a little anxious Friday night and her IM's put me at ease. Such a mom!!
DIANNE...What can I say about DIANNE that we don't already know. She can sling a zinger with a perfectly straight face! And if you ever need someone to have your back, it would be DIANNE. She is so proud of her grandchildren and I believe she would protect anyone of us from hurt as she would her grandchildren. If only we could convert her to become a Brown's fan ;)~
WHABBY...I was afraid of WHABBY! His intelligence has intimidated me more then once! But, he is much more then just smarter then the average bear! Years ago, whenever I ventured into the chat room at that other blog, he was usually the first to acknowledge and talk to me. I now know why...he is a real GENTLE MAN.
It must be a reflection of my time with you all, because last night I had a dream. I don't remember the dream but I was laughing. I was laughing so hard in my sleep I woke myself up!! I woke up and continued to laugh! As I tried to get back to sleep I kept laughing...OUT LOUD! You all must have made me have residual laughter...and if felt GOOD!
I mentioned much earlier in this blog that I knew I would like you. Now I can say...I LOVE YOU ALL!

I have a crazy busy day today. Food Bank of course! Then I have to organize a cleaning crew for tomorrow as we have an open house for the building the food bank is in on Saturday with many big wigs attending, oh and I have two reports to get done. Somewhere in there I have to fit in laundry and unpack my suitcase.
VACATION IS OVER!
Oh and I have write a blog for Carol and the group. I am still savoring the moments from the trip in my head and letting everything filter into words.
I do want to say I sure missed Zona and Shirley the trip would have been perfect if they could have been there.

Mo, Your observations of all of us was pretty accurate except for one thing, I am shy and kinda boring. I know I hide it well lol, but I was aware that I was among many very smart owls! I often just looked around with amazement that we all came from different backgrounds,religions (or none),political views and nationalities. We all were able to relax, laugh and just enjoy the moment. Thank-you everyone for making me feel so welcome. I wish I could have spent more time there. I feel like I missed out on getting to know some of you more. Please know that I adored each & everyone of you!

So, HOoters, here I am still at Sacbarb's house. It's like I am the house guest that never leaves. She gave me two different desserts last night so why would I? LOL I will have to go home today or else I will balloon up to 400 lbs.
I want to say thank you to SacBarb for being so kind and generous to let me stay with her the evening before the flight to Chicago and also for the last two nights. What a lovely lady she is! Oh, and I was so happy to have her and LynnD as my roommates. They couldn't have been easier to share a room with.....so easy going and fun. We laughed until we cried. They are so much fun!

TINA; You look lovely in your native garb today for the special holiday. I bet you have a wonderful Mexican dinner planned tonight for your family. Are you missing me yet? I missed you right away when I went to bed. The room was so quiet and no one was jumping on me. As I told you the other night, I would miss you as you are much better than an empty room. Mo, I loved reading your take on everyone and btw I AM old enough to be your MOM. I would love having you as my daughter. I agree with all your assessments. Everyone was just as they seem when reading their comments.
Goldie, Please give Mr. Goldie my sincere condolences. I am so sorry he had to hear about his Dad in that way.
BTW, on the flight home we got moved up and were offered almost anything we wanted. I wasn't feeling too well, so I declined the wine, but we got all the snacks we wanted and the attendants checked on me several times because they knew I wasn't feeling well. Thanks again for the tip.

JODI: My little daughter.....it was so cute having you on my lap and snuggling me. Now this really sounds risque doesn't it? I am sorry about that darn car and hope things work out for another one. It just isn't safe for you to be driving something like that. We were so relieved to hear you made it home safely. My brother will be happy to know he now has you for a niece and he will someday enjoy a Spotted Cow with you...along with peanut butter pie. I told him to note your picture on that one you posted with your new pink shirt on and the two owl eyes peeking out.

I totally had a wonderful time and enjoyed each and every one of you Owls. We are all a strong group of people and meshed perfectly. Everyone was just as I had known for the last two to three years. One other thing that helped me.....I felt just like I was at a support group for hot flashes, poop and Depends....It is so wonderful to know you are not the only one. :)

Hey Everyone. I am finally home. My welcome home at the food bank was that the freaking walk in freezer quit again today. Jesus I think they save this crap up for me. So I was there until 4 pm waiting for the repair guy. I told him we had to quit meeting like this, the whole town is starting to talk.
Thank goodness It was only a freeon leak and was easily repaired the clients were happy today because they got extra meat.
goldie I am so sad for Mr. goldie. What a terrible way to find out that your Dad has passed away. That just breaks my heart. Sending (((Hugs))) your way.
Dianne, Tina did not want me to tell you this but that Bronco's bag was a life saver on my trip home. However Mr. Lynn D gave it a long look when I stepped off plane. I will try to hide it before he makes it disappear.

Ya know, it's funny...or ironic...my closest friend in "real" life is Joni. We work together and she is the one with the cat I take care of when they are on vacations. Well, I have been back at work 2 days and she has not once even said "welcome back", "how was your trip?"...Nothing.

OK I have to tell you guys what I did today. I bought myself a flat screen TV, 24 inch. I know you are probale saying "big deal". Well it is cause I haven't bought myself anything for ages. There was nothing wrong with my other TV, but it wasn't a flatscreen and I thought it would be nice to have one. It is nice but now I feel guilty for spending the money. Am I a naughty owl? Should I just go to the naughty mat now? It is nice though! hehehe!
SHIRLEY...do not, I repeat...DO NOT go on the naughty mat. You SOOOOOOOOOOOOO deserve it. Enjoy it every moment you watch it. Maybe you can donate the old one to a women's shelter, then it will be a gift not only to yourself but to someone else.

Our news here for the last few days has been all about the attempted terror attack.. it is 24/7.. It was amazing how the FBI/NYPD caught this terrorist with 58 hrs.. I have followed it so much, that it seems to me, that this terrrorist, just left to many clues behind.. the vin number was left on the engine, smoke bellowing from the pathfinder, bombs in pathfinder not able to go off, buying the pathfinder himself with cash, buying his ticket at the counter with cash.. cooperating fully with the FBI.. when the FBI went on Emirates to take him off the plane he said "I was wondering when you were going to find me"
So I have to wonder.. did he chicken out after he agreed to do it.. I am positive all his money was being funded my this terrorist
group.. could they have threaten him that if he did not do it they will harm his wife and children? Or actually kill them.. I have to wonder if he did not do as they said he and his family would have probably been killed..
My thoughts.. he did it in hopes of getting caught.. ijs
