All right...I admit it...I'm a fan of Barry Manilow's music. I don't really like watching Barry Manilow sing live..if that makes any sense..but I do like a lot of his songs. "Weekend In New England" has always been one of my favorites. It was written by Randy Edelman and was on the 1976 album "This One's For You". It's hard to believe that after all these years..for reasons I'll never quite understand..I still get chills when he sings the last chorus. It's almost as if you can hear the waves crashing on the shore. I also love the line 'With you there's a heaven..so life ain't so bad'..although I just noticed he changed that in this clip. So..does anyone else like any Barry Manilow songs? C'mon..you can tell us...it'll be our secret... ;)

I have to be @ my cousins @ 12n.. the bus leaves right from her complex.. she lives right by rte 3 which takes you directly into the Lincoln Tunnel.. no traffic we should be there in 1/2 hr.. We will pass the new Giants Stadium which I have not seen yet.. where the Superbowl will be played in 2014.. YAY.. so exciting.. weird tho, cause it can be 20degrees in January..

Zona I do enjoy Barry's songs. They're the kind of songs you can sing along to and he has written so many hits. He's very talented. I did see him perform once in a theater in the round. My friend and I were in the second or third row and it was great. I guess that would have been in the early 80's.

We had a huge thunderstorm last night and don't tell ZONA, but it was actually cold this morning! It was nice and cool all day. It will be great sleeping weather tonight...I hope!

LYNN...I was there for 3.5 hours yesterday and another 3.5 today. Each day was a blast, let me tell you! Did ya ever watch paint dry? LOL! We spent a lot of time in the dining hall with her watching her make faces at the food, push it around the plate, complain as if anyone cared and then devour the desserts!
I am not going tomorrow, but I will go Tuesday night, at her request because she meets with the Oncologist on Tuesday morning. That visit should be another laugh a minute. I am actually scared to go then, but I can't not go.
As far as how she's doing...I think she is looking pale again and noone has ordered any blood work. WTF. No one is checking to see if she is still having blood in her stool. I asked the nurse to call the doc and Thursday and write orders for that. Who knows if it will ever happen and Joanne is not asking about it. And today she is coughing something terrible. No one has even ordered another chest xray to check on the pneumonia. Again, Joanne isn't asking about it.
I am really trying to step back. Trying is the operative word!

I was never a huge fan of Barry's, and one time I saw him being interviewed and he was so arrogant, sarcastic and rude that it really turned me off to him.
I haven't seen any pics of him lately so will actively look to see if I can see his new look!

She looks good, and not all stretched and glued like Joan Rivers. She musta had a better surgeon! hee hee
Mo, nursing homes suck. When people go there, they have to give up any last shred of dignity they were holding on to. When my grandmother was in one, the staff called me to tell me she was "unresponsive". I didn't know what that meant. I asked them point blank, "Does this mean she's dying?" and they wouldn't give me an answer. She died that afternoon. ASSHOLES!
CHI CHI...my mom was in this same nursing home. There were issues then, but she spoke up and stood up for herself and I was also there everyday not only to visit here, but to advocate for her. SHe was dying when she went in and the asshole doctor looked her in the eyes and told her she could live to be 125. I almost pooped my pants when he did that. When it really was her time, the staff was very accomodating to make her...and me...as comfortable as possible. They called right away and told me to come.
If I ever get that sick, someone please just shoot me, mkay?

The play was amazing.. they were both terrific.. I love Sean Hayes even more.. so funny.. the music was divine.. Kristen as always (I saw her in Wicked) was on top of her game..
We had great seats (thks Amex) 3rd row mezzanine center..
The city was packed.. so many ppl, you at times can't breathe, everyone is one top of each other...crazy.. times square was Madness with a capital M.. There are no cars allowed in times square anymore, so its like Disneyworld.. ppl all over.. every street was packed..
I took my camera.. took 2 pictures.. and poof.. battery has no life :( I had no warning.. it just died..
It truly was a memorable day!

Zona we plan to vacume the pool on Tues. It gets really dirty and MR. EBJ has to get in the pool and vacume twice, and we are good to go.
