Morning Glories!

I think mine measure at about 1994 according to your cartoon Barb.:)

Dianne and Barb I am back home. Mr. Lynn D is going to order a new laptop for him and then I will take over his old one. This week is going to be a challenge until the new one gets here.

Zona whew, glad you and Randy made it through the storms!

Barb - That was so funny. I think Jack enjoyed it even more than I did. It's also sad. I remember when I could pass the pencil test. How many of us could still do that? I am sure Tina could.

Good Morning Tina - My dad kept a record of our heights on the inside of the ironing board door. If and when we ever moved, my mom always cried when we had to leave the door behind. She almost took the door off its hinges from some houses we lived in. My dad also kept a record of the grandchildren but by then there were portable charts that you could hang up.

Good Morning Lynn - I am very glad too.

Zona - As I told you in my note I am sure glad that I didn't know you were in that storm until you were safely home. I would have been worried sick. Thank God there are angels out there looking after us.

We were up at seven. It is so still up here at the farm. There isn't a sound - very peaceful.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

BARB: LOL!! Again..had to show this to Randy..who is up early to work on a speech..groan.. ;) ..and he laughed and laughed..I don't know quite what to make of that!! Thanks for the semi-early morning giggles..from both of us! :D

TINA: My mom didn't measure and make pencil marks for us kids growing up..we were like bean sprouts and would have filled up the entire wall..but I did it for my mom to show her she was shrinking! She didn't believe me! She kept telling me "I'm 5' 5 and 3/4!!" I measured her and she was 5' 5 even!! Silly as it sounds..I treasure those pencil marks..and especially the memory of how we laughed that day. :)

LYNN: I'm sorry about your computer biting the dust..probably FV dust tho..that game causes more problems!! And now they are introducing FV2? Oh hell to the no!! :D I'm glad that you will be getting a replacement soon! :)

TINKA: I'll have to Google the pencil test..but just the fact that I don't know what it is probably proves I can't pass it..cuz I bet I'd be bragging if I could.. ;D

TINKA and LYNN..we checked the radar before we left and it didn't look like that storm was anywhere that we had to worry about. But it changed direction FAST and just sent a deluge down onto the freeway. I thought it would be over with when we came back down..but another band of the storm must have come in..and this one was just as bad. That road is a major thoroughfare for truckers..and when they pass you and the water splashes over the windshield..forget it..you're driving blind..I did not like it at all.

I talked to some of my friends..and we all have the same question..why the heck don't people slow down when it rains like that? I just don't understand it..it's crazy..

I guess I can't put off the inevitable..time to go listen to a speech..lol..

Have a good day everyone!! :)

Happy Saturday Owls.

Tina, YW. I told you you wouldn't be able to relate to this one.

Tinka, I know what the pencil test is and I was able to pass it until I was in my late 40s. I was pretty proud, but that ship has long sailed!

Lynn, Why is it that we always get the hand-me-downs? I know there is the excuse that the Hubby uses is for work, yada, yada, but still.... The same thing used to happen here and for some reason I never questioned it.

Zona, you should tell Tinka that you have an arc(h)-angel and she wouldn't have to worry about you. LOL In fact I bet that could even be a blog! ;-)

My neighbor has hired someone to trim the vine that is growing over the wall between our houses, so there is a lot of noise going on in my backyard right now. But I am very happy about it because we had a lot of critters living in that vine and although neither one of has pets anymore, we had fleas in both our yards. He even caught nine RIVER RATS in a trap he set, which is why he made the decision to get the vine trimmed. I even offered to split the cost of it, but he refused. I don't feel too guilty, because (a) he planted the damn vine and (2) he makes twice as much money as I do. But he is a very good neighbor.

We moved into this house when Dean, our oldest, was six years old and we had a door frame that we used to measure him and ultimately, the other two as well. When he was in the fourth grade he was bragging about being taller than me, so the Hubby measured me on the frame, too. Yup, he was 1/2 inch taller than his Momma. Then it became a contest for the other two to reach that line. When we painted the kitchen, right before my Hubby died, we took that molding off and replaced it with a new strip. Somewhere in this house I have a strip of molding with a bunch of lines, kids names and dates on it.

Tina Good moaning and good afternoon, too. When I was younger I worked with a young woman who was very cute and quite top heavy. After having her two children, she said she kind of had to roll her boobs up into her bra. I'm sure she was exaggerating but be thakful for what you've got.

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb Thanks for the chuckles today and yesterday. I don't know what my problem was yesterday that kept me from popping in here. I did go to work for a while and to Curves and then spent too much time fighting with people on FB. LOL I'm glad that vine is being taken out. There was probably quite a nest going on in there.

As for my boobs, I bet I could hold a whole pencil box at this point. :(

Just_Lin said...

LynnD I don't want to know what year my boobs are. Let's just say they ain't what they used to be. Somebody let the air out.

Just_Lin said...

Tink The house I grew up in used to have an ironing board in a cupboard that you would open the door and pull the ironing board down. That was taken out long ago when they did a little remodeling. Fun memory of that, though. Thanks for reminding me.

Zona I HATE it when you have zero visibility when driving. I remember a time when my husband and I were driving home on a highway and suddenly the rain got so heavy that we could not see...at....all. We pulled over off the road as did others. It was hideous and went on for several minutes. I'm surprised no one got killed when that happened because everyone was driving fast at the time. I also hate it when the fog is so thick you can't see but a couple of feet ahead of you. Driving in that is extremely stressful. I'm glad you are home safe and sound.

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb2 I refuse to think that I am shrinking but my mother definitely did.

Afternoon all. Mr. Lynn D has saved my pictures from the laptop and is now trying to see if he can track down the exact cause. I may have pronounced it dead to soon. We will see.

Just_Lin said...

LynnD Glad Mr. LynnD got your pictures out. I hope the patient recovers completely. Maybe it had something to do with lap...top activies and whoppers. :)

Zona said...

BARB: LOL!! I bet it could!! So sweet about that strip of molding hiding somewhere in your house..just made me smile big time! :)

I hope your neighbor didn't trap the official mascot of your team! Your son would be none to happy about that! ;D I'm glad he finally trimmed that dang vine though..ugh..

J/LIN: There was a point where I told him to just forget it and go back home..he said no..because he couldn't even see where the Exit lanes were!

LYNN: Fingers..toes and eyes crossed that your Laptop survives to post another day!! :)

MO: My Boyscout hasn't returned yet..maybe they're holding him for observation? :D

Zona I wonder if that old saying, "When it rains, it pours" started in Arizona. ;)

Tinka said...

Zona - Did you google the pencil test? I did and it's there. Let me know if you passed it.

No more driving in storms for you. Your cyber mother forbids it. Even though Barb says you have an archangel and I know she is right, (You also have a guardian angel), I would like you safe at home in storms please.

Tinka said...

Barb - I could pass the pencil test until I was in my 40's too. I guess that is the age when gravity takes over.

Hope you have said "Good Bye" to all the little critters. We had moisture ants in the flooring for a couple of years in the 90's. One day in July they came out of the flooring, hatched into flies, flew all around, landed on the windows and then died in a few hours. They were in our downstairs family room. The first time it happened I really freaked. I felt I was in the movie, "Amityville Horrors". I was running around spraying. Two days later I had a minor stroke. My sister was sure that was what caused it. I had them professionally dealt with. The following July we had a few and then never again. Apparently I was watering my lawns and flowers around the house a bit too much. We have restricted watering now so I doubt if it will ever happen again.

Tinka said...

Just-Lin - I have days like that too when I just can't seem to land in the nest. Other days it is easy to blog. I wonder what the reason for that could be?

LOL @ had to roll her boobs up into her bra.

Lynn - Good luck with your lap top. I was having trouble with my Imac and thought I would have to get a Mac Geek. I unplugged the modem, waited a minute and plugged it back in. Everything was back to normal. I felt very relieved. The Geeks charge $80.00 an hour now.

We had a lovely day today. We brought the scooter so I could be outdoors a lot more; walking the dogs, checking the lakes etc. It was the first time I did all that for 3 years. It was lots of fun.

I will say "Good Night" and "Sweet Dreams", love Tinka

sacBarb said...

Zona, What mascot are you talking about? Our baseball team is the River CATS and none of them were hiding in the vines.

Good night and sweet dreams Owls. Gotta get up early for Church and then go to a card class. Thanks for the comments today.

Just_Lin said...

SacBarb You mean you don't have a team called the River Rats? LOL

Zona said...

J/LIN: Ya never know.. ;)

TINKA: I did Google it..and not by a long shot..I'm pretty sure I could write with the pencil that way..js.. ;D

BARB: LMAO! I am such a DORK! I really thought it was the River Rats..I thought it was a strange name for a team..but after all our baseball team is named after a SNAKE..so who am I to judge? Sheesh..ok..River Cats..not Rats..I think I got it..now if I can just remember it! ;D

Just_Lin said...

Zona LOL @ being able to write with the pencil that way.

Hello owls! This boob thing made me come out of the lurking bush lol!
As long as I can remember, I have never passed "the pencil test". So far I am still in control of the "girls".
The other day I was at the grossery store. You know how some people lean into their carts and walk around bent over ass up. This lady came in with the biggest set of hooters I have ever seen! Her legs and waist were tiny. She was quite tall. She grabbed a shopping cart. placed them babies in the basket (overflowing I might add) and off she went boobs in and ass up! I wanted to take a picture soooo bad!
I am happy you made it home ok Zona. I have been in weather like that and the semis blind me too. No matter how fast the wipers go, it never helps!
Waving at the rest ~~ I am off to make supper.......
