Caught Between A Rock And A Hard Place

Watching a program tonight that took the place of Boston Legal, my memory was jogged about a situation my husband and I were thrust into years ago.
We, and our best friends Dorothy and Joe, had boat stalls next to each other at a marina in Galveston. One morning my husband and I decided to do a little work on it, and as we approached our stall, we noticed Dorothy and Joe's boat was not there.
We worked a few hours and lo and behold, here they came in. As they were backing into their stall, I noticed that, THAT WASN'T DOROTHY SITTING NEXT TO JOE. It was some young blond, giggling Bimbo I'd never seen before. Joe tied off as we said hello, gave the Bimbo his keys and told her to wait for him in the car, never acknowledging her presence to us. I then watched my best friend's husband walk down the pier to his car, and waiting Bimbo.
Needless to say, I was FURIOUS. We talked about it on the way home and I was asked not to say anything to Dorothy, because he wanted to talk to Joe first.
Well, Joe went home and told on himself. He knew me well enough to know what just might happen. I'm glad I never had to choose to tell, or not to tell, because it could have backfired and cost a friendship. Oh yeah....the boat was sold, they divorced three years later, and we haven't seen Joe in years.
Have you ever been put in an uncomfortable position, or wished someone would have told you something?

Bon'O....I just bought a Wacoal today at Nordstroms! I love their bras. Super comfy and it's like you don't even have one on. And my girls are huge so it's a friggen miracle! I paid $58 bucks + tax, but sooooo worth it!

I just twisted my back and banged up my shoulder and elbow! My sweet Choc. Lab has had a bad habit of laying in our doorway. There is, scratch that, WAS a brown rug there. I was carrying laundry and didn't see her. I wet flying cursing all the way! I didn't know what happened. She never moved! even after I went flying! I think I scared the crap out of her (not literally LOL).

BarbinWA~~Aren't they just the best with the flannelly almost like moleskin underwires. TMI for some, I'm sure, but unlike most bras with round fluimsy wires, Wacoal's are sturdy and flat and so smooth you don't know they're there.
Has anyone tried sending a MySpace message in the last few minutes? I was helping Ronnie with some stuff and we were doing fine messaging back and forth. Now, not working. I'll just breathe deep and try later, Ronnie.

These stories are so sad. Ronnie, Such a good post. Funny how when other people lie, we are the ones between a rock and a hard place.
If someone I love was being lied to, I would first tell the liar that they have 2 days to come clean and on the 3rd day I'm telling ~ and then I will tell, even if the liar informs me that they came clean, after all, can I really believe them?? Sending hugs to all who went through this pain.

This strange happening does not start my itself, it happens, both parties are wrong. As much as one wants to stop it, it is very difficult, even tho you now its wrong, at times it continues. It is a struggle, and a hurtful and gloomy life. Love can be as I have seen in and felt it, it can be as strong as the wind.
I do not judge anyone in either position as one neeeds the whole content of the saga to be objective and in cases like this, the saga is not always the truth!
Carol.. did you feel scared to share that with the nest? It would have been hard for me. Thanks for speaking, it helps me to put a different face on the pain, rather than us and them.

Carol I, too, have been on the other side. My second husband and I started seeing each other while he was still married. He did get divorced but remained friendly with his ex. We had a 30 year relationship until he died last year. His ex and I are fine with each other. I get along great with his kids. I think he and his ex had just grown apart over the years but felt like friends. Sometimes we just have different seasons to our lives. I'm starting a new one in mine now.

It is interesting how MEK mentioned about the cheating and it being some men in uniform. My story that I told this morning about my ex ... he was a policeman. I also think it comes from "back in my day" just getting married too young. I was 21 and that was "the age" at that time. Now when I talk about the age to my grandkids, you would think I married at 16!! I like how so many of the young adults wait until they are older and smarter to get married in today's world.

we did 500 miles today but because of morning traffic in long beach and construction on some of the roads it took us 8 hours

Dianne I still work at the veterinary clinic but just because I still have 3 old cats. I run the monthly statements, send letters to people who haven't paid and sometimes send people to collections. It irritates me that people just don't pay. It would be fine with me if they paid $10/mo. but to completely ignore it? No way.
