Hmmm... my first love was not until I was in my early 20's. It was my office-mate in grad school, Terry by name.
Talk about bitter-sweet! Terry was straight, of course, so the love went unrequited. Still, he and I became fast friends, which meant I got to spend a lot of time with him, but complicated things to no end as well.

scirish-- A master konditor is a Master Baker. My dad was born, raised and trained in the Bavarian Alps region of Germany. It is extensive training to reach the Master designation. Years or apprenticeship. He moved to Chicago, opened his own bakery's, then sold, moved us back to Germany and that is when Swiss Colony lured him back to the states to their new bakery division, in Monroe WI.

Can I just say how impressed I was with how many OWL Valentine's I received on MySpace? Who woulda thunk there would be OWL-entines!
Well, my kids are off to school after opening their cards and eating special Mickey Mouse pancakes. (Nothing says love like the Mouse!) I need to wrap the teacher's gifts, take a shower, go in for the morning kindergarten class parties, make cupcakes and then return to school in the afternoon for my daughter's class party. This is almost as busy as Christmas!! Then when I come home, there is the special dinner I was planning to make... I guess any chance of doing any work today is out the window!

So Valentines Day is a great thing if you are in a relationship. Not so great, though, I find as a chronically, by-choice single person. The week of Valentine's Day makes me very cranky as Zona can attest to. It feels like Hallmark is rubbing singleness as a bad thing in ones face. I was reminded yesterday though that what Valentine's Day really is is about letting the one you are with know they are special and important. So why can't Valentine's Day be that for singles as well..reminding ourselves that we are important and special and that isn't reflected by whether a relationship is there or not! With that in mind, I walked myself down to the flower shop and bought a beautiful bunch of daffodils. They sit in front of me and I reflect on who I am and where specialness might lie and I say Happy Valentine's Day to me!
Mo- you don't have to bow to me- a simple curtsy will do.....

LynnD I did get some Custard today. Just got off the phone a little while ago. He sent me a beautiful arrangement of flowers. He says he fell in love with me at age 14 (46yrs ago)and was never able to forget me. We will have to wait and see if this turns into a real love story or not.

I'm finally here and have missed you guys so much. In December when we had to register at NBC, I couldn't get back on from the Eagles Nest. I've watched all the drama there and on The Hill and now, I'm looking for a home. Mo and Jax seem to think I might be welcomed here. Last night I had promised Mo that I'd come, but just didn't make it. (Project Runway etc.) Sorry I missed your home-cooked meal, Mo. I believe it was chicken. At least it wasn't road-kill.
