Is it a Tale?

I grew up surrounded by “old wives tales”. For example, if you swim after eating you will drown, stretch marks can open and you will bleed to death, you die for the moment you sneeze, and so on. Now I know they come from some kind of wisdom, but they did stick with me. What about you all? What old tales still come to you? Are you passing any on? What are the most absurd? What make the most sense? And while we are at it, how about superstitions? (I can see Whabby shaking his head, no really, I SEE you Whabby lol) I still grab a button going past a cemetery and knock wood to ward off something reoccurring.
Come on, think about it..I’ll bet the nest is a veritable treasure chest of tales and superstitions.
I can hardly wait to hear them all!

N/M~~The only way I can ever remember which years are leap years is that it's Presidential election years. In banking, we always knew we'd get an extra holiday for Election Day but had to work an extra day in Feb. to get it.
Today (2/28) was my parents' anniversary. They used to joke about how hard it would have been, had they married on a 2/29, to explain my being a teenager when they'd celebrate a single-digit anniversary.

The beauty of MySpace is that you can be 'out there' whether on a public, private or just-friends MySpace account and NO ONE of your visitors has access to your underlying email account (unless you choose to share it with friends, of course. But any time someone sends a comment or email to your MySpace account, MySpace generates a "You've got Mail" notice to your regular email account so you know you have MySpace mail. Does that make sense or ease your concern?
I'm so paranoid about someone (not MySpace friends, but some hacker-dude) getting my regular email account address that I really only share my gmail addy with MySpace friends. I know I can trust "my" friends, and I only use MySpace for blogbuddies. I just don't know who "their" friends might be outside our little nest so feel more comfy protecting the AOL account. Can't wait to 'see' you!

The time: mid-70's. For two summers, I worked doing gardening-related activities in Toronto's largest cemetary, a sprawling giant named Mount Pleasant. The second summer I was put on "special care" duty, which meant roaming all over the cemetary every day, providing TLC for plots that had paid a premium.
One of the duties was (of course) cutting the grass with a portable lawn mower.
Well! Being on my own, and knowing all the secluded spots, one day I discovered an unbelievably "effective" vibrator: Either the left or right handle (it didn't matter much which) of a gasoline-driven 20 inch mower.
Needless to say, I don't have one in my bedroom, so it's been over thirty years since I last had the pleasure.

MEK: Yup, the girls were all fine...I had to "put them to bed" anyway. They always look at me like I'm disturbing them a great deal when I close the door on the coop and they are already roosting. It looks like they are laying again so we will be enjoying VERY fresh eggs.
RONNIE: I understand your privacy concerns.. me too, that's why I hire a private detective to investigate all these owls..gotta say most of them pass muster and the ones who don't are usually on the naughty mat so they get a pass. lol
