This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

Beauty is my home
by Shirley
The river: It's cool water bubbling and gurgling over the rocks and fallen branches. Carrying leaves and twigs blown from nearby trees into the lake at the end of it's journey.
The ocean: It's majestic power so soothing as it crashes against the rocks. Each wave inches a little farther onto the sand. The sound is hypnotic. The smell is unique. The sight is unbelievable.
The forest: The sun playfully dancing through the branches. Foliage green and lush. Life everywhere yet unseen. Trees swaying gently in the breeze. The smell of wild flowers fill the air.
This is my home. Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada. Founded in 1783 by the United Empire Loyalists. Population approximately 2300. It's where I was born. I have walked through that forest. I have fished in that river. I have seen that ocean.
Where do you live? City? Town? By the ocean? In the mountains? On the prairies? In the desert? I want to know what you see when you fly home from the nest each day.
I want to dedicate this blog to my Dad, Orison A. Hartman. He walked in that forest with me, fished in that river with me and stood on the sand by that ocean with me.

Guess I'm talking to myself. Ok.
Would you like some cheesecake?
Sure. Thanks.
No problem. What kind would you like?
How about the chocolate? That sounds good.
Excellent choice! Would you like coffee too?
Sure. One sugar, two milk. Thanks
Good-night Ronnie.

Caught a lot of bay fish (trout, and flounder) and had a wonderful time visiting with some of my old neighbors who still have homes there.
We had 2 fish fries that I was invited to and really had a great time.
Here's the part that Mo. is waiting to here. My date Saturday night was delicious!!!!

Damn, I just missed Shirley!
Shirley, I tracked it down! It's in the Northumberland Strait right off the coast from Mirigomish, between Pictou and Antigonish.
OMG... some of these places I've heard of all my life, but didn't know where they were in Nova Scotia until now. Too fun!
"Shirly"? Oops, sorry ShirlEy. My fingers were over on MySpace.
Whab~~"Mirigomish, between Pictou and Antigonish." ?? Gazundheit!!

Okay, off to bed. Shirley thank you for the great blog and I wish everyone peaceful dreams tonight.
LynnD~ that washing the phone was funny~ I thought of you at the craft store today.....this woman was talking so loud on her cell phone....I tried to make eye contact, but she would move away.....then come back and I'd try again~ But she'd move away....again and again...finally she got off the phone, but not before loudly saying to her friend that she didn't know how long she would be because it would depend on how long the sales people took to ring her up! I just wanted to smack her....and then I just wanted to call you to tell you~ :)~
225~
Shirley~ wonderful blog~ I loved hearing where everyone is from~
I live in a suburb of Salt Lake City. In the winter, it snows like crazy and the mountains have great skiing~ I don't ski because that's exercise and I'm allergic! But the view of the mountains takes my breath away each and every day....you can see pics on myspace~
In the spring, it will sometimes still snow. It snowed in early June once!!! (and every time my in-laws fly in!)
The summers are HOT!!! But it's a dry heat. My family goes camping and hiking (even tho I'm allergic to hiking) in the local mountains. My favorite spot is Tony Groves.
The Fall is my favorite. The colors on the mountains are just unbelievable. Reds, greens, yellows and oranges~
We also have a church within walking distance of every home in the state!!!! And plenty of Temples!!! Our state capital is gorgeous (if you can call those gorgeous!) I have a mountain range to the east of me and one to the west of me. North is the Great Salt Lake and South is Utah Lake. You don't want to visit either one. They smell really bad! Stick with the mountains~
OH!!! How could I forget....all the best scrapbooking stores are here! and the best prices!!! I went to two stores today! :)~
where are all the hooters?
Hi, K-girl ! Here! Here!
Carol: LOL! I didn't, either, until I started to run on the trail, which was, wow, 6 or 7 years ago now.
You know what gave me the inspiration and perseverance in the early stages, when it was most difficult because I wasn't in shape? The Long Walk, by Richard Bachman. Hell, if Ray Garrity could do it, then so could I! LOL!
I have no idea why I am up this late, but if any of you "hooters" are still up, Good night, or Good Morning, which ever!!!
I read Shirley's beauiful post today and sent her an email.
I am still very stressed out about the situation with Laurie's Benefits. I think we may be able to work it out to Laurie's advantage, but it will take a while, and this has taken a lot out of me.
Also, April 2, is the day my husband was killed in a drunk driving crash. So all of this hitting me at an already emotional time in my life, has been tough.
So, I am sorry for not posting. And I apologize for being in such a down mood these past days.
Life will get better, or even if it doesn't, I have my Faith, my Owl Buddies, outside friends, and my family to keep me going.
I tried to read the comments today, and it seems to me that this United States and Canada has the most beautiful, wonderful places to live!!!
Yes, we all have our "seasons" to deal with, but very few of us said we would move elsewhere!
I would love to travel and see the rest of the world, but, as John Denver said many years ago
"Take me Home, Country Roads"
But, I have said a few times, if the opportunity ever came I would split Laurie and my year into 6 months in Hawaii and 6 months in Alaska! Two so diverse places, but to me, the most beautiful of our States.
Sleep well all, and Good Morning to those reading this on Tuesday!
Peace and Love, DonnaJean
