Fine Tuned!

my emotions need to be fine tuned
i go from happy to sad to crazed
all in about ten 1/2 seconds, it happens
so quickly, i don't even realize the
change until someone close to me points it out

i have thought about this often, and have
made a decision that it comes with getting
older, when i was younger so much rolled
off my back to never be thought about again

now, i pick things apart and it affects my
emotions, it also affects my thinking
because if i am crazed for whatever reason
my thinking is crazy thoughts!

try as i might to keep my emotions fined
tuned, i lose every time, the battle is ongoing

there are times, these emotions get to me
i want to be able to notice when they arrive
so i can handle them better, and not completely
freak out

there has to be a way, i just have to look
in different places within myself

i have to try

in the meantime, watch out, as you never
know when my emotions will emerge
good, bad, or indifferent it could get ugly!

Oh boy you so described me Carol! How did you know? LOL

I was much more easy going and really took things as they came when I was younger. I have now seriously tracked the mood changes to peri menopause and hormone fluctuations.

I know when I am having a hormone change because my ugly friend depression rears it head just lurking and waiting! As much as I can look logically at this it does not stop the mood shift. I just tell myself to ride it out!

I can also get silly or cranky to down right pissed off in zero to one second! Better shifting than any NASCAR driver ever thought about!

I have to say the ranting can get ugly!!!

There is a plus to this tho. I have discovered new found freedom from being walked on and pushed. I am more likely now to say step off! Also being silly takes on a whole new meaning! LMAO

I know I need to get more exercise and really work on my meditation. These always help but squeezing them in is always hard. Truthfully most of the time my stubborn side says I just don't want to do that!!

Really I have so many personalities now that I am considering naming each one!

MORNING GLORIES!!!!

CPGEM: Wonderful blog! I can so identify with this. I try so hard to control my emotions. I hardly ever get angry, I can't remember the last time I did. Oh..but I get hurt so easily, and when I do, all logic goes out the window. I let the littlest things get to me too. I will find hidden meaning in the most innocent remarks.
I would love to be able to figure out why I do this and stop it. It just wears me out to be this way.

Zona said...

Morning CPGEM! PMS away! We all understnd! ;)

Cpgem - GREAT blog - I am at that "age" where you never know WHAT emotion is going to come out of me!! sometimes, it scares the living hell out of me - Like, who is this person!!! and I will just leave it at that!! LOL

Zona - I won't even touch your comment!! :-) I love ya!!

Good morning to all those that post after me - I'm hoping to get some things done around the house today - still have stuff running down the back of my throat - I guess I will just have to live with this crap forever!! thanks for all who asked...

Mary: Thank you for the prayers and hugs!

Happy Wednesday to everyone!

Jennifer said...

Morning all! Lynn d: Congrats on #1 and MEK: Congrats on the top 5 (you too Zona)!

Zona, I can relate to what you say about being easily hurt. I am the exact same way! I think it comes from trying so hard to please everyone (which we all know is impossible) but some of us still try! I also think it comes from our own hidden insecurities that someone may unknowingly touch upon that makes us crumble!

I also believe that the artistic/creative soul tends to be very sensitive (and I see we have a LOT of fellow "artists" out here in the nest)!

Let me just say though that since I had to start taking Paxil 8 years ago (for serious anxiety attacks that left me agoraphobic) my emotions are a little more even keeled than they used to be. (I even had to up the dosage during my divorce).

I have resorted to the fact that I need to take medication to feel "normal" and I am no longer ashamed of it. Just like the diabetic needs the right amount of insulin injected, so does the person who has to take medication to balance out the chemicals in the brain.

I don't miss my PMS days! (I had to have a hysterectomy a couple years ago....during my divorce... because the found a tumor the size of a watermelon in my uterus)! But, that is another story...

Great post Carol! Glad this nest is a safe haven for our emotions to fly free!

MEK in AZ said...

Amicus - My dear, I must tell you that there is no describing "IT" - I think it effects all of us so differently and noone can warn you about WHAT or HOW it makes you feel!!! AND, once you think "it's" over - it comes right back!!! See - I haven't helped you at all!! LOL

Jennifer said...

Good morning all who posted while I was typing (iteach and Amicus,) and to those who post after me!

My daughter and I are going to spend the day today in a quaint little town (Galena) that is a beautiful drive and has great little shops! We decided to have small little "trips" during spring break!

Talk to you all later tonight!

Zona said...

MEK: Love ya too! SWAK!!

Zona said...

JENNIFER: Have a great day.

MEK in AZ said...

Jennifer - have fun with your daughter - little trips are sometimes WAY more fun that a big one!!!

Zona - you did direct a question at me - and that is what I was NOT going to answer!! :-)

Okay - I need to get something accomplished today!!

hugs to all!!!!!!!

Good Morning Carol (great post), Lynn (Congrats on 1st) Zona (2nd but 1st in my heart),
Mek, Iteach and all of our other little owls. I hope you are all having a beautiful spring morning. I must read the blog. It looks very interesting and I love the graph.

Tinkatia said...

Good Morning Amicus, my beautiful friend and mentor and Jennifer, my new friend. Now I will read.

MEK: I know! The fact that you didn't answer just cracks me up! :)

TINKA: Morning Sunshine and Flowers!! How are you feeling this sunny, soon to be hot day?

Anonymous said...

Arrrgh....spring break is over and it is the first day back to work today and I can't get my patooty in gear! It doesn't take much to get used to sleeping in and for ones routine to get whacked out. Anyways, just wanted to say good morning to you all and i shall read the blog and comments tonight when the work day is done!
Happy Hump day! Have a great day everyone!

Tinkatia said...

Zona - Don't change. I love your sensitive nature. That's what makes you such a caring person. I do however know what you, Lynn and Carol mean by "letting the little things get to me". You know that I am like that too. I am trying to "not sweat the small stuff". However at my age it's doubtful I will ever change.
I watched "Music and Lyrics" last night and I smile every time I look at your picture of him.

iteach - You just described me this morning. I am walking around in a fog. This is not usual for me. I was thinking maybe I am not better yet.

Mek - I too am going to get things done today. I spent too long on the computer yesterday (that may explain the fog) and today I am really going to limit my time here.

Amicus - I hope you have a great day at work.

Jennifer - You are so right. This nest is full of artistic souls. We have many gifted writers and artists here. I bet it's a much higher percentage than any other blog out there. Artistic people tend to be sensitive and changeable in their moods. It comes with the territory.

VIG- I didn't hear from you yesterday. Please check in. Maybe you are out of range. If so I am sending you love
telepathically.

Off to check messages. I will be back once more and then I will get something useful done today.

Zona said...

I'm having a much better day...so far..I still feel a little sick:(

VIG - I mention your name and you appear like magic. Have a great first day. It's always hard to get back to school after spring break. The kids are tired because they are staying up later, spring is in the air and school work is the last thing a lot of them want to be doing. Maybe we should only have classes in the fall and winter months.

Zona - Send us some warm sunshine. We have the sun but it's chilly here.

Jennifer - I forgot to mention, have fun with your daughter in Galena.

Tinkatia said...

I am never going to get to my messages,

Good Morning Joey - There are pills you can take for your PMS. LOL. Good luck with it. I love your owl lamp.

JOEY: I sure hope all the smiles and laughter you bring here to the nest bounce back and help you to feel better. You never fail to make me smile! :)

TINKA: If I could give you 20 degrees, I would. But you would have to promise never to give it back!
Thank you for your sweet words..I don't think I could change now if I tried.

Off I go, before it gets too hot to do anything useful around the house! Have a great day everyone!

Oh Carol, right on with the Blog today!

In fact right now I wish I were on the plane with SacBarb on my way to Hawaii for two weeks!!!

Remmber the movie "What About Bob?" with Bill Murray. I love that movie.

"I'm on vacation from my problems!"

Great line from a very funny movie!

Like most of us, moods can go from happy to angry to sad back to happy in a matter of seconds!

And, yes, there is a male hormone thing too, Joey and Bear. It's not just confined to us ladies!

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Peace, DonnaJean

I read a lot of books including Menopause For Dummies and Suzanne Somers books are really good.
To help with the hormonal swings try WILD YAM CAPSULES. This is homeopathic.BLACK KOHOSH is also of help.
Also diet and exercise are very important.
Lastly for bloating take a water pill 3-5 days before your period every day with potassium.
Also take an aspirin every day to thin your blood and help lessen cramps.
Above all else exercise every day, walk, anything for 30 minutes.
If you feel sluggish then take B12. The best is B12 injections but B12 sublingual dots or liquid is good to. They are less harsh on the stomach than a pill.
(I just sent some information to Dog The Bounty Hunter's sister last night about supplements. This morning she told me she was seeking out a biochemist for similar information. Now she can save her money and plans to buy Earl Mindell PHD's book entitled Vitamin Bible.)I highly recommend it. The information covers a wide variety of topics and gives information on supplements, herbs, amino acids, etc.

Good Afternoon Hooters!!

I've read the blog, but not all the posts yet!

Carol, Great blog! you've just described me the last few day's!
The other day after all the pounding from the roofers and the pups being up my ass ( they were scared ;o( )...About 5pm, I just screamed.." OMG, just Leave me alone!!". Not sure if the neighbors heard me or not, but I decided to take a xanax. The next day, I was rather down and while taking my shower I just wanted to cry! So last night I took another one! Today is a better day! ;o)

I went through Early menopause, my nerves were really really bad then. I still get mild hot flashes, but nothing like before.
I could be butt nekkid and still sweat like a pig! For years, I never even wore a winter coat.
I still have the mood swing's though and the anxiety, but those aren't as bad either.

Hopefully, the rest of the week will continue to get better.
I do notice I have more good day's than bad now.
That of course could be because of all of you, My Great HOoter Friend's! You all make me smile!!
Thank you!!!
xoxoxo
((((((HUGS)))))

Lynn d, Congrats on being First!!

Hey HOoters!!! I just wanted to thank everyone again for all the kind words, prayers, and messages yesterday. Grandma is still not feeling the best, but she will be ok.

TURTLE & ZONA - Your calls yesterday helped more than you know.

LOVEY - Thank you!!! And I'm still keeping you in my prayers. I love ya girl!!

JENNHOFER - I love Galena!!! I only have only been there once - but you're right - great shopping!!! I hope you and your daughter enjoy your day!!!

DONNA JEAN - I love the movie "What About Bob?"!!! One of my favorite scenes is when they tie him to the mast....and he says "I'm sailing.....I sail"!!! Too freakin' funny!!!

CAROL - I think you did a great job describing me!!! I had a hysterectomy the night I had Jake - oh, the joys of being thrown into menopause at the age of 33!!! But I must admit I DO NOT MISS AUNT FLO!!!

DreamaTexas said...

Jeoy,
B12 increases energy along with properly using fats, carbs and proteins. B12 also decreases irritability by promoting a healthy nervous system. It also improves concentration.
I saw Dr. Oz on Oprah and he discussed hair loss. He said that you can keep the hair that you have by using Propecia and Rogaine. Rogaine is sold in generic strength at WalMart & Sams Club. A friend of mine was losing his hair on top at a fast rate. He switched to using a dandruf shampoo to unblock hair folicles. And he started using Rogaine & Propecia. He has stopped the loss of hair now for the past 5 years.

Hi Everyone again!

I just posted something on the other Blog, and I hope I didn't do anything wrong.

Luvagi, (remember her?) mentioned a couple of days ago how much she missed all of the Owlettes (of course I didn't call us that on the blog), but I mentioned to her that if she had a MySpace she could email someone and find out where we all flew off to. (didn't use that language either!) I did mention you Carol, as cpgem. So, she might be emailing you.

I sure hope I didn't break a rule or anything!

Dreama~~ Carol emailed me with your email address, so expect an email from me real soon, ok??

Have a great day everyone.

Donna Jean - I posted to you today but I got foaded. If you have time e-mail me and we can catch up on the news. I think about you and Laurie a lot but we don't connect often.

Jodi - Your husband sounds neat to me. No wonder you love him so.

Birdee - Thanks for the offer to come and get rid of my dust bunnies. I will be expecting you before spring turns to summer.

Bear - I just noticed the quote of the day and I am still laughing. You and Joey are welcome here anytime.

Zonababy - You send about 10 degrees today. Just 10 more and it will be just right. I promise I won't send them back.

Congrats Lynn on 1St. Great blog today Carol. I think most of this group can relate to it. And yes Joey, I do believe men PMS too.

Just a friendly reminder. Before you start taking holistic medicines and things that claim to heal or help- always check with your Dr. Many supplement can interfer with perscription medications. Ok to take one or another- I'm not advocating either way- just be safe about mixing things.

Jodi- Are we on for Friday???? Hope so!

Barbara_in_COviaWA said...

Since we are talking about emotions I'll share with you that I was having a great day and now I'm grumpy. All it takes is one person to piss me off and then my day is ruined because I will dwell on my pissyness!
Most of you know about the woman at my office who was let go and in the same day was hired to be an ASSisstant to one of the agents. Pissed me off so much I almost quit. Well she has done nothing but make mistakes and cause problems ever since she became the ASSisstant. In 2 weeks she has broken the copy machine twice, and turned in 5 ads with 3 of them wrong. I was told that since she is not an employee of the office, but an ASSisstant to the agent, I was to let the agent know when there were problems. So today I told the agent that her ASSisstant turned in 3 incorrect ads for her. She asked what was wrong with them. I told her, and then she told me that from now on she wanted me to contact her ASSisstant directly whenever there were problems with the ads. OK. Well I guess that was not OK with the agent. She went upstairs and told the broker that I was being rude about her ASSisstant and made a comment that I must be mad at her for hiring her new ASSisstant. The office manager's assisstant was standing right at my desk when the whole conversation went down and she told the broker that everything was fine during the conversation. The broker has not said anything to me about this at all. She called me though and asked if the agents ASSisstant had given me her, the brokers, ads for her listing. I said no she did not give them to me. She told me that they were suppose to be on a regular rotation in the ads and that she should have given them to me. So the broker had to re-write her ads and bring me new ones. When she came down she made a comment about how the ASSisstant should have given me these ads before she left. It was with a little wink and a nudge like she knew the ASSisstant was worthless and that is why she is not HER employee anymore! I'm just so pissed that the agent had to run upstairs and complain about nothing. I tell you that ASSisstant is going to be a pain in my ASS until she sells her house and moves for friggen Alabama for good!!!!
Anyone want to buy a house for $219,000????

My visits to him used to consist of me talking to him while he hardly said anything. It was good to see him out of the bed and laughing (yes I told him Owl stories). He had an enthusiasm that has been missing for a very long time.It was the best visit ever.
The Casino is about 4 miles from him, sooooo. The first hr I lost $220! I left 20 minutes later with $245! Whew!! I never blow more than $50-60. I must have had a moment of insanity, which I think is todays blog lol!

Turtle. I have taken my laptop to him before and left it with him to play mahjong while I went to the Casino. I'm not sure if they have wireless. I will ask. Our families have discussed getting him one, but we are not too sure about the security in the building. Good idea though.

Joey,I bought$5 worth of tickets for Friday's. Meg-a-mill. Whoo hoo. Maybe we will win and buy an owl retreat. I know of an available house for $219,000! Hell, I know of a kazillion homes on the market!

Helloooooo Owls. We landed safely and then had a teensy bit of trouble finding out hotel, so K-girl saved the day. She was our personal gps. We are going to meet up later for dinner.

Sharon is resting before we take a walk to the World Market so I came down here to check in. I haven't read all the comments because time is short, but I did read the blog. Great topic Carol. I have found that, in my old age, I have actually mellowed. Things that used to set me off, now are not worth the energy it takes to get pissy. Of course, I am older than a lot of you and I don't have kids at home anymore, so that helps my moods I am sure. But, in my forties, I did have a VERY short fuse and sometimes it didn't take much to ignite it. My Hubby had a way to calm me, however, I won't go into that here. LOL

I am going to go roust Sharon so we can take that walk. Thanks Turtle for being so patient with the crazy tourists. I am so looking forward to our meeting tonight.

Take care everyone and I'll try to check in later or tomorrow. Love you all.

Barb

P.S. Thanks to MEK, too. You know why.

sacBarb said...

oops...that would be ouR hotel

Bon'O said...

Hi Owls....I still need to catch up, having only skimmed posts. Not much to add on the 'mood' subject. I'm a typical even-keel Taurus...very slow to anger, but if someone does push me over the edge, it's over. I'm all about forgiving, but haven't mastered the 'forget' part.

BarbWa~~I think Costco sells WhoopAss by the case....Just sayin'....

Joey~~I think I remember lighting those herbs and walking through the house with them back in the 60's, but I don't think it was sage. It really did improve the mood as I recall!! :D~

Mary/MI~~So happy to hear your Brother Tony update!

SacBarb~~YAY!! Did you get us all t-shirts from the International Marketplace that say "SacBarb got to meet K'girl & all I got was this stupid t-shirt"? Can't wait to see pics and SO glad you'll be checking in throughout the trip. Mahalo!

Goldie...I so agree with you that work gets in the way of one's social life and blogging! My first day back to work today after 10 days off and I was having serious blog withdrawal symptoms!

Tinka and Zona,...thanks for your nice words earlier this morning. Hope you both had feel good days!

So I have just been learning who Sam Harris is thanks to the link on the other blog. His vlogs on Youtube are excellent. If you love Rosie like I do, you might want to take a look at a great two part talkyblog there with Sam and Rosie.Check out:

On todays blog~ I am the middle child and have always been a peacemaker. Mr Mary and I are pretty boring in the emotion dept. We have never raised our voices to each other, maybe having "vocal" Xs has something to do with it. Mr Mary being of Finnish descent is naturally calm in most situations. I, being of the "Hot Latin" persuasion, have had to learn patience. I am a lover.. just don't piss me off LOL!!

LOL@Tink and Carol! Carol, you obviously read the comments very "Carol"fully!

And Joey, you obviousy studied today's blog graphic very "Carol"fully! LOL! Yes, there's a fist in them there bubbles!

In fact, now that you directed my attention to it, there's the first letters of the labels, four of which spell FIST, and in ONE of the labels, the second letter is capitalized, almost like Carol wanted to draw attention to it.

The letter is "N".

FIST"N". Hmmmm... you don't think Carol was sended us a coded message here, do you?

Naw. Impossible.

Mary/MI said...

Tina, you know I meant BTW. Geesh I have got to proof read!

Hi Whabbear! We finally meet! Thanks for your kind words yesterday. You are a doll(bare doll) Heh Heh!

WHABBEAR: !!!!!

SACBARB: Glad you landed safely. Have a great time..as if you wouldn't!

KGRL: I sent a hug with BARB, make sure you get it! ;)

MARY/MI: I'm the middle child too. My mom use to call me the United Nations because I always tried to keep things happy in the family.

VIG: Isn't your avatar the piano tuner??

TINA: Are you talking about work? ;)

JODI: Keep us updated on your Grandma! And for you...SWAK! Just cuz!

DIANNE: I'll send you the address..

Well, Myspace hates me again tonight. I am going to try once more to answer messages and then I give up.

I hope ya'all (for JOEY) have a wonderful night.

whabbear said...

Still... when I was thinking about the implications of Carol's code, an oldie but goodie song came to mind. I'd like to share it with you.

Sing it with me, won't you, owls? You'll feel better if you do:

Let me tell you 'bout a place
somewhere up-a New-York way
Where the people are so gay
Fist"N"' the night away

Here they have a lot of fun
Puttin' knuckles in the son
Man, you find the old and young
Fist"N" the night away

They're Fist"N", Fist"N", everybody's feelin' great
They're Fist"N", Fist"N", they're Fist"N"' the night away

Here's a man in ladies' clothes
How he got here, I don't know, but
Man, you oughta see him go
Fist"N" the night away-ay

He's jigglin' up a chick in jax
She's a-movin' up and back
Oh man, there ain't nothin' like
Fist"N" the night away

Here's a fella in bluejeans
Fist"N" with a older Queen
Who's dolled up in-a diamond rings and Fist"N" the night away-ay

Man, you oughta see her go
When he says "take it, you ho!"
Here you find the young and old
Fist"N" the night away!

With apologies to any I offended... especially poor jigglin!

Bon'O said...

IDOL~~I was right! When Chikezie was brought out first, I thought he must be in the 'safe' group. Once they get to the Top 10, it's hard to tell what will happen, but I think America got it right this time. He did remind me of a young Luther Vandross though.

Anonymous said...

I agree Bono...America got it right. And I think it's going to end up with the two David's battling it out!
Does anyone else find the phone questions incredibly annoying?

MEK in AZ said...

Yes, VIG - i wrote about those stupid questions earlier tonight- it just wastes time!!

Bono and VIG - i also agree that the correct person went home tonight.

I sure hope that Little David is NOT in the top two - he is getting on my nerves!! :-) He "aawww shucks" is getting old!! sorry..

MEK in AZ said...

and another thing about those questions - they have the person's name AND their question right on the screen -so everyone can "rehearse" their answer - so, it's not even "quick wit"... oh well......

MEK in AZ said...

In classic Joey form - my third post in a row..

does anyone else have their "friend status" under maintenance tonight on myspace??

MEK in AZ said...

Good night, everyone!!

Bon'O said...

Agreed. Hate the stupid questions. Show me more of the "AI GIVES BACK"...That I find very touching. I couldn't stand David Cook or Michael Johns at the start. I thought it was going to be all about the girls this year. Now, I'd buy a cd by either one of those guys, but I really do wish David Cook would buy a bottle of shampoo! I don't mind 'grunge rock' but I can feel the cooties when I look at him. I had never heard the interpretation of 'Billy Jean' he did last night. As Simon said, that could have been a disaster, but he rocked it!!

Bon'O said...

MEK~~"Goodnight"?? When we're at 145???

Bon'O said...

Hellooooooooo?

MEK in AZ said...

Okay - Bono - you asked for that.. LOL...

I was just getting ready to shut down and thought I would check ONE more time!!

Bon'O said...

Thank you, MEK! I thought I lost ya.

MEK in AZ said...

LOL - i didn't even see the

"go for it" - too funny...

AND - I agree about Cook - his hair is what bugs me.... I didn't really like him at first, but I told my sister earlier tonight, that I might have to download his "Billie Jean" from Itunes!!

Bon'O said...

I left it hanging out there for you, MEK. I KNEW you weren't about to leave at 140-something!

MEK in AZ said...

Bono - HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

did we scare VIG off?

MEK in AZ said...

what was funny - when I saw you marching - I hesitated for a few seconds - cuz I thought for sure you would be typing 150 - and then - it just hung there!!!

SO, thank you for that!! Brought a smile to my face!!

Bon'O said...

Hey, MEK....Zona gave 10 degrees away. Could I have 10 of yours? Right now it's 32 with light rain/snow mix. WTC???

MEK in AZ said...

honestly - i had gone to myspace to change my song on my page - didn't even think about the 150 - until I saw 147!!!

:-)

MEK in AZ said...

Hell,

160!!!

MEK in AZ said...

YES, you may have 10 of our degrees - it is really going to be a HOT summer. - these early highs are a bit scary!!!!

rattlesnakes have arrived earlier than usual also!! yards are full of lizards!!!!!

SO - I'm sending you 12 degrees!! LOL

MEK in AZ said...

I don't think you want to know what our temp is RIGHT now...

(whispering) 67 at it's 10:32pm.

MEK in AZ said...

our low for the WHOLE night will be 51...... (sorry)

MEK in AZ said...

Okay - LOL

I am off to bed..

Bono - thanks for letting me win 150!! that was very gracious of you... I appreciate it..

SacBarb and K'Girl - hope you guys had a blast!! Can't wait to hear all about it...

Bon'O said...

G'night MEK if you're really leaving. And, VIG, wherever you went, sweet dreams and a good Day 2back at work!

Right now, the Weather Channel is showing heavy snow video from the Oregon Coast. Truth be told, MEK, I wouldn't trade you. As Zona knows well, I do NOT do heat!

whabbear said...

LOL@Mary in Mi! I'll try to think of some appropriate lyrics for the BH theme song!

Hello, Bon'O and MEK!

Bon'O said...

and if no one else answered, yes MySpace Friend Status is undergoing "special maintenence". I see they broke the song title/artist update again (backwards), and Profile Update' notifications aren't happening for most of us. I get pleasantly surprised when I go to leave a comment and see new layouts.

Bon'O said...

Good evening Bear! Hows life in the Bay Area this week?

whabbear said...

Hi, Bon'O! Life is good, all things considered! I'm checking air fares tonight to Toronto for the 4th of July, and I'm appalled at the price... over 700.00! Yikes!

And what are you up to tonight?

Bon'O said...

Just a cozy lazy evening here Bear. After chatting with VIG about books earlier, I'm picking up where I left off a week ago, reading Eckhart Tolle's 'A New Earth'. I think (if you haven't read it) you'd enjoy it!

LOL@Mary!

Hello, Tina!

Bon'O: What the topic of the book?

Bon'O said...

Whab~~The 'dysfunctional' nature of world religions vs. discovering true spirituality;letting go of ego to discover Purpose, finding Stillness, creating a life of enthusiasm and enjoyment, etc. Sounds 'preachy, definitely is not.

whabbear said...

It DOES sound interesting!

Bon'O said...

Whab~~Here's just an early sentence "When you don't cover up the world with WORDS and LABELS, a sense of the miraculous returns to your life." It focuses on how much we fail to experience in life, because we're too busy trying to reduce reality to "something the human mind can grasp, which isn't very much".

Tina~in_ut said...

Hi Bear and Bono~ I just talked to Kgrl and Barb~ they are having fun.....Kgrl is bilingual~ She can talk to dolphins~ :)~

Bon'O said...

Tina~~Cool! I wanna be there!

Tina~in_ut said...

I wanna be there too~

whabbear said...

Bon'O:

Hmmm... although I agree that the human mind acts like a filter, restricting and controlling our experience and what we are capable of understanding, I"m pretty impressed with how rich and detailed the subset of reality that our mind allows us to understand actually is!

whabbear said...

Tina: Great news! I'd love to be able to talk to dolphins!

Anonymous said...

Hey Zona...thanks for calling. It was awesome talking to you! Glad you are enjoying warm weather... it's about a thousand degrees warmer there then it is here with the Russian (nothing against Russians!) cold front coming through. Enjoy the warmth! Sleep well!

Hey Bono and MEK...I was on the phone for abit so just need to complete my thought on AI...I agree that young David's ah shucks routine is annoying..but the boy can sing!!! I kind of think the last three standing will be Michael and the Davids! And hopefully Mr. Cook will have a new do!

Bono...so great that you are inspired by Eckart again. Enjoy. Happy reading to you!

Good evening Whabbear! Hope all is well!
