This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

Excuse Me?
yesterday while in my office
i hear beeping, not the one time beeping
the "move out of the way" beeping
i look out the window and see a complete
backup of cars, of course i am what i am
so i venture outside to see what is causing
the problem
there is a car double parked and blocking
the way so the other cars could not get
thru
i walk up to the window and see a young
girl in the passenger side, i ask her where
the driver is, she points to the store next
to mine, she then gets on her cell phone and
makes a call, i gesture to her, as what the heck
are you doing, she points again, needless to say
the beeping is getting louder and mean
just as i was going to go into the store a
woman walks out, i ask her if that
is her car and she says yes, as if nothing was
wrong, i tell her she should have not double
parked as she did
she says:
"whats the difference they will just have to wait"
what did i just hear? she did not just say that!!
i swear i saw red, you know that bright fiery red!!
i held my tongue....
very sweetly i say "well that was really not nice to
say" she gets in her car and storms off
it took me a while to calm down, as i found
what she did was so rude with no regard
for anyone else
i can't stand rudeness, on any level
and this to me was just plain rudeness!!
it just seems i can't get the young girls
face (that was in the passenger seat)
out of my head, and keep thinking
the sad thought, that this impressionable
young girl is learning from that rude bitch!
and people wonder why the children of
today grow up as they do!
such a shame!

Hi!! Geez it's good to be back in the nest! I want to thank everyone for the Myspace messages and all the caring words. They all meant a lot to me. I am going to read the blogs I missed, and try to read all the comments today. The headache from hell is pretty much gone, and I feel much better. I will do my best to catch up. Again, thank you to everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Good morning, my friend, Zona!
Good post Carol!
I know exactly what you are talking about.
In my second grade classroom I deal with moms that are 23, 24, and 25 that are so rude.
When I first started teaching there were still young moms, but they were not as rude as they are today.
CPGEM: Oh, I know how you feel. It is sometimes so hard not to say something. Yesterday we stopped at Walmart to get candy and toys for an Easter Basket Mr. Z is making for work. Out of no where this woman started screaming "Brrriiittttnnneeeyyy!!" at the top of her lungs. She wasn't in a panic, the child was maybe ten feet away from her, and she was calling her because they were leaving. It was as if there was no one else in the store but her and her daughter. Maybe this just hit me wrong, but I thought it was extrememly rude!
ITEACH: So nice to see you this morning!
I wanted all the Owls to know that I got a phone call last night from Dianne_better_be_resting_in_Denver.
She wanted me to give you an update on her younger granddaughter. She is doing much better, and is back in school. Her older granddaughter, however, now has what her sister had and was in the ER last night for treatment. Dianne herself has the flu. She wants you all to know she is thinking about you and will be posting as soon as she is able.
Good Morning Owlina's!
Zona First way to go! So glad the headache is gone!!!
Read yesterdays blog were I left off and wow some pretty racy posts! LMAO
JennHOfer: Go for it! Mr. Lynn D is 12 years older than me. I just remind him that I will be picking out his old folks home and he toes the line! LMAO
MoHO: I will be looking at your other emails today! Busy trying to solve the roof problem!
KaHOnugirl: Sphincter is still tight! I may never have to poo again! Oh and I can embellish anything even if it is rubber! LMAO
Hodi: Hope those slippers are providing hours of entertainment!
Hey I say an advertisement for a new movie yesterday! It's called: "Whoretina Blows a Hoo"! I tell ya that girl gets around! ROFLMAO!
Good Morning Iteach!!!!!
Good morning!
Hey Zona! Good to see you again. Congrats on being first (I was first yesterday for the first time! I was so excited!!!) :)
Oh man, I unfortunately have to deal with rudeness almost on a daily basis. It's something you cannot escape in the medical profession.
People are sick, hurt, in pain, whatever, and they want to be fixed. Many times the medical staff will be the target of their anger, frustration, pain, etc.
I try to not take it personally, I have many times not said anything, even tho I am screaming inside. I will end the situation if someone starts to yell or swear at me, then I've had enough.
Most of the time, they will apologize before they leave. I've gotten letters in the mail too with apologies.
Yesterday I got a call from our call center, she had a patient who was coming in to see his dr. and was running late.
She put him on the phone to me and he said he would be about 30-45 minutes late and could I let the dr. know.
I told him that I would do that, but he may not be seen since he was so late. I told him he may have to reschedule.
He started screaming at me "I'm WILL be seen, I am NOT missing this appointment, I am just late".
By the way he had completely not shown up for another appt. with the same dr. the day before, and had rescheduled that one for yesterday.
I told him ok when you get here the receptionist will ask the dr, and it will be up to him whether he sees you or not. I tried to explain that it's not fair to other patients who are on time and then forced to wait because of someone else.
WRONG THING TO SAY! More screaming. I said goodbye and hung up.
Sorry for the long post, it felt good to vent about that guy!
Have a great day, I will check in later!
My rude people post!
Carol I am so with you on this. I blame cell phones! Big surprise right! LOL
Actually I was at the gross-ry store yesterday and just about lost it!
There was a woman with what I think were two little boys, I could not tell because they both had so much hair I could not tell for sure. It was all wild and crazy looking too. They were probably about 5 and 7 years old.
They were crazy screaming and running around the produce section of the store! I had to dodge them a couple of times with my cart and some of the elderly people looked like they were afraid of them. The woman who was with them (I am assuming she was the Mother) would stop occasionally and look at them and smile. Soon one disappeared into another aisle did she get upset or go rushing off to find him. No she walked up to the older child and in a very indulgent voice asked where the younger child was and said please bring him over here so I can see him.
The older child took off like a rocket screaming and hollering and soon they were back using us for an obstacle course!!
I have to say it took every bit of strength I had not to grab one of those children and march them back to the woman!
What is sad to me is that these children will be penalized when they get older as they will have no concept of what is like to behave!
I can only shake my head and wonder what really has happened to people that they feel so entitled and self important that no one matters but them.
p.s. That guy never showed up for his appt!
Zona's up and she's first.
Whoopie!!!! That makes me so happy.
Good Morning Baby, iteach,
Lynn D, and East Bay J.
Off to read the post with my O.J.
Good Morning OWLETTES!!!
Zona--- FIRST!!!!
glad the headache is gone!!!
CPGEM-- I love this post...I could tell millions of stories.. working with public is sooo interesting... I worked in a grocery store for 5 years... medical for 15 and now resturaunt and postal.... I have seen it all... and for hte most part peolpe are not so rude... but it only takes one to screw up your whole day...
good mornign to...
Iteach--it is a shame these young mothers who "know it all"...
Lynnd--- Felling better YEA!!!!
East Bay J-- I really know about that " sickness" being taken out on you... You should see how angry people are when they are starting Dialysis... but you know it is because they are scared!!
Good morning
ng TINKA---
Hope the Birthday party goes well....
I have no problem now what-so-ever telling strangers they are being asses. I do still sometimes out of shock stay quiet. Or if there is a chance I will end up looking like the rude one. Like last month when we were at the Dollar Store and this chick is having a completely personal conversation on her cell phone stanging in line behind me at the register. I mean personal! I kept turning around and giving her THE LOOK but she never made eye contact with me so she just kept it up. When I was done I had to wait for Katie who was stuck behind the phone convo chick. So mom and I started walking to the truck and out comes chatty chicky and I say really really loudly to my mom "I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE THINK WE ALL NEED TO HEAR ABOUT THEIR PERSONAL LIVES! I CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW RUDE THAT GIRL WAS STANDING AT THE REGISTER HAVING A PERSONAL CONVERSATION LIKE THAT ON HER CELL PHONE! PEOPLE LIKE THAT JUST THINK THE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND THEM! ALL THEY WANT TO BE IS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION!" Then I felt better.
Congrats on first zona!
Thanks for the blog carol!
ahhhhh....i dont want to just be #13 today! must leave another comment!
ok.....i feel better now~
Thanks for the post Carol. I feel lucky in saying that I can't remember the last time anyone was rude to me. Canadians for the most part are known for their politeness but of course that is not always the case. I guess I live a sheltered life. People in my neighbourhood always smile and say "Good Morning", they help each other get things down from top shelves in Safeway and drive quite respectfully. VIG lives in the same city as I do and she goes to a lot more places. I am interested in hearing how she finds the people here. It may be a completely different story when you travel to a lot of different places. The last time I saw really rude people was on a cruise ten years ago. We were on one of those bus tours they have at each port. Two ladies were late getting back to the bus and that held us up ten minutes. I couldn't believe what rude things were said to these ladies by at least 10 people. The ladies were so embarrassed and were never given the opportunity to explain. I don't know what country these passengers were from but they didn't do honour to it that's for sure.
I must get busy getting things ready for my grand daughter's 10th birthday party. Where did those ten years go? My daughter isn't up to doing the party so my other daughter is over from Vancouver. She, my son-in-law and I will be the big party organizers today. It's going to be fun.
Dianne - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your grand daughter today. You have had your share of illness this past while. Let's pray that everyone, including you, will all be well soon.
Good Morning Barbara in Wa and Ibebold - thanks for the well wishes for the party. I am excited.
I will check back now and then to watch people vent. This is going to be a fun day.
Hi EBJ: He did not even come to the office after all the fit throwing?? Where do these people come from?
Tinka: Have fun with your family today! I know your Granddaughter will love her party!
BarbWa: You go girl! Tho you may have felt better it probably did not even register on that girls radar!
Ibebold: Like you I worked in customer service industries and I have some doozy stories! Especially when I was the customer service manager at a very popular furniture store here in WA. I have been known when it was a real screaming mimi to let it slip to them that it was furniture not brain surgery!! So what was the real problem? P.S. I did drink heavily when I had this job! LMAO
My other favorite thing to whisper when dealing with the public "Crazy is as Crazy does!"
Lynnd --What usually came to my mind and sometimes slipped out .. I would start singing..."If I only had a Brain"
20 That was for you MEK!!!
Good Morning Feathered Friends!
ZONABABY...so glad you are feeling better. And Congrats on 1st! hoot hoot!
I really think rudeness is an epidemic. Everyone seems to think everything is about "them". I see so many parents teaching by example and I wanna smack them! But then that would be rude!
I have a million stories, having been a retail manager for most of my adult life!
I would see kids running rampant and then have to deal with the parent and know exactly how the kids got that way!
CPGEM8...thanks for a great topic! You are a rock star!!
* * * * *
BAD JOBS BLOG: MO I loved reading everyone's stories. Excellent blog!
SCIRISH: A pickle sorter? I bet TINA was jealous of this job in more ways than one. ;)
IBB: I'm terrified of heights too. I wasn't always, it started about ten years ago. I don't know why.
LYNND: Cockroaches. *shudder* I hate bugs. We get cockroaches in AZ that are three inches long, and they fly right at you. eeewww is right!
JODI: I'm not surprised you made the very best out of a hot and sticky situation. ;)
SANDIE: LOL @ you teaching cussing.
ITEACH: Eyes in a jar by the bed? OK...ICK. Weird. Creepy.
GOLDIE: Just the thought that they rewrapped bloated anything is gross.
KGRL: You squeezed pickles! LOL! ;)
JENNIFER: Welcome! Please request me as a friend on Myspace. Ask ITEACH...I'm harmless. :)
LITTLE GIRL w/ the license plate bag...congrats on #1...

Off to read the next blog...
This is a GREAT Blog!!! Rude people...my BIGGEST pet peeve!!! My first few jobs were in retail (and as everyone knows who's been there, you deal with the rudest of the rude...and Christmas time is the WORST)!
As iteach has said too, a LOT of these parents are so rude that it's not surprising when you see the rudeness in their children!!!
I think rudeness stems from a lack of respect (which is a big deal to me)! These parents (at our school) do NOT respect authority and so their children come into our school displaying the same behaviors! The teachers have no backing when their kids act up because the parents don't care what the teacher has to say! (And the children know this)!
I do believe that people have become very selfish and only care about themselves (and it reflects in society)! Manners has gone by the way side (and I don't like it)!
People just have no consideration or respect for anyone but themselves and we see it daily! It's become an ugly world!
Glad there are places like the "nest" where we can go to escape it!
Good morning!
Congrats zona on 1st! Glad you are feeling better.
Lynn d- How is the Hoo Hoo doing? And your snotty head for that matter? ;)
I think (crossing fingers) that after HOURS of working on my 'puter last night I have (crossing my fingers) deleted, reloaded, uploaded, scanned, fixed and gotten it back up and running.
I can not remember how to get that stupdid box that asks about secure and unsecure to go away- can someone refresh my memory please??
Thank you -
My pet peeve's of rudeness are people talking on the cell phone while in a resturaunt and cashiers who do not say hello, thank you or anything else. I always make a point of saying "OH you are so welcome" when I leave the register after being ignored!
I am off to take Pepper for a walk in the sunshine and run errands. Hope everyone has a good day.
Well, I just heard from my friend who set me up last night. (She works with this guy in her office). I guess he told her that he wouldn't mind getting together again, but didn't think the whole "dating" thing would work! (I guess he sobered up)!
I KNEW IT! SEE??? I am just an ugly rock to the world!
I have TRIED to lose weight...but I get so easily discouraged and give up!
I am such a fool!
* * * * *
ADVICE BLOG: I'm actually catching up!
CPGEM: This blog made me smile a little because my doctor had given me the advice to stay off the computer...and I DID! Unbelievable that I even could!
JODI: Love you. Thank you so much.
Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I was so touched by all of you.
TINA: Thank you for including me in your prayers with LYNND's Hoo-Hoo. :)
LYNND: I hope you are feeling better.
ITEACH: I think your zipper knew that Mr. Iteach would be home soon! ;)
BON'O: I missed the announcement! Congrats on the new pups!

Next blog....
JENNIFER: It's his loss. Don't you dare put yourself down!!!
JENNIFER!
Don't sell yourself short. There isn't a one of us that wouldn't like to lose weight and gets discouraged. You are not an ugly rock to the world.
Not everyone is going to be a match in the dating department- and if you made a friend who wouldn't mind getting together again that's huge.
Please don't be so hard on yourself.
((hugs)) to you
Jennifer: His loss!! Don't worry so much you were fine he is the one with the problems!
Hi Moho and goldieho!!
goldieho: Doing a happy dance that you fixed your computer! Head is a little better and hoo hoo ok!
Moho: I agree rudeness is an epidemic!!
JENNIFER...stop it. You are more then whatever weight you are. If he is not ready to date, then it is HIS issue and problem...NOT yours. I have only known you here in the nest for a few days, but I have to say that you are a kind and wonderful person. And pretty damn funny, too.
If you are a rock...you are a rock star...not an ugly rock. He is blind, that's all.
One of my exes and I started dating when I was major FAT. I could never understand how he could be with such a hog when he had an adonis like body and a gorgeous face. I decided he deserved a thin girlfriend. I lost a lot of weight. As I was losing, he kept telling me he hoped I was doing it for me...not him. The weird thing is, we broke up when I got thin! As I started to gain some of it back, we got back together. So, it isn't the outside package, it is the lovely gift inside.

If you're on Internet Explorer:
1. Go to 'Tools' on IE
2. Click on 'Security'
3. Select "Custom Level"
4. Scroll down to 'Miscellaneous'
5. Within Miscellaneous, find subsection for 'Display Mixed Content'
(this is for Secure/Unsecure, i.e. text AND photos, etc.)
6. Set 'Display Mixed Content' radio button to 'ENABLE'
(default is 'Prompt', which is what causes the lockbox to come up every time)
7. Click on 'Apply' at the bottom of that IE controls window.
8. Close Internet Explorer to get the change to 'take'.
9. Reopen Internet Explorer, sign back into the blog, & you'll no longer get the lockbox, and will be able to see profile photos, etc.
GOLDIE I think this is it..hope I do this right.
Jennifer
I agree with everyone else. It's his loss and that's just one guy. Men ( a lot of them) are wierd. They expect things to be perfect on the first date and for every thing to click like clock work.It takes me awhile to get to know someone and at least 3 dates to open up. Love usually happens when you aren't looking.
One of my favorite sayings is: Stop searching for happiness. Chances are it's right next to you.
Jennifer--
Maybe he thought --- How could this gorgeous woman want anything to do with me... and he got scared...
But... he was up to hanging out again... maybe he was giving you an easy out...
maybe... he wants to see you again... but doesn't want to pressure you..
TOTD
I work collections and have to call people to make payment arrangements when they get behind on car notes. They are always rude on the phone. They scream and cuss.
My pet peeve is cell phone use in public places. Every where I go I have to stand in line or be seated at a restaurant next to people talking nonstop on cell phones.
Then there is my neighbor's barking dog. They don't care that their dog barks constantly and keeps me up all night. Why do they want this dog. He is left outside and never played with. He whines and barks nonstop.
The other rudeness that I come across daily is rude drivers. I live in a city of impatient drivers. They pull in front of me,tail gate me, try to cut me off and steal my parking places and are always honking their horns if someone doesn't peel out as soon as the light turns green.
Ibebold
ditto of what you said also. You might have hit that nail on the head. Maybe he is scared.Did anyone see last season's The Bachelor. That guy ended up not picking any of those beautiful women.
Tinkatia
be sure to take pictures of the birthday party. We want to see!!!
Jennifer - You hang in there baby. The right guy is just around the corner. He will see how beautiful you are. Just wait. I feel it in my bones. Forget about that jerk. He isn't worth it.
Dreama--- Last season of the bachelor... He got cold feet on the selection night... they had the seconds girls father there... to ask for her hand... he just choked... you saw he couldn't breath... it was sad to see a man lose it like that!!!
Dreamatexas - I will have my camera. I want to get pictures for my new slideshow on myspace. Thanks for reminding me. I may have forgotten my camera. I have done that before.

WHICH EYEGLASSES BLOG: MY eyes are TIRED!
CPGEM: My eye doctor said I was just beginning to need reading glasses. But every pair I try on is too strong. I guess I'll have to wait awhile. I do wear glasses for distance. Seems things like the TV keep moving further away, and becoming harder to see...isn't that something?
LYNND: You sent Jodi the vibrating slippers? Love them. LOL!
EBJ: Congrats on your first 1st!
VIG: Did you say 'sickie'?? ;)
SACBARB: Glad you didn't have to pay Uncle Sam any more...now about that trip to Hawaii...;)
KGRL: Thank you for the ZonaHo..made me smile! Oh, and are you keeping track of all your 69's??
TINA: Dang you're quick...;)
* * * * *
Thanks for indulging my three days of catching up...my eyes are so tired. I'm gonna try and rest them awhile. Course that'll depend on how nosey I am to see what's goin' on in the nest! :)
TINKA: HI Sweet Lady! We were posting at the same time! I missed you the last few days!
Jennifer I'm sorry that it didn't work out, but remember all what you have been through.
You have come to far for a stranger at a bar to bring you down.
I know easier said then done.
Just know we are here for you and adore you.
Zona- Glad you are back and caught up... now... don't do to much ... don't want the "puter" to bring on a set back...
Rest today ...
Jennifer-- this is wonderful group of people in here ... in teh "nest"...
they taught me last month ... this little saying...
I say it almost every day....
It works wonders when people get on my nerves...
"You don't mean enough to me, for you to affect my mood"...
ZonaBaby - I am so glad we have myspace and e-mail or we would never talk to each other. It is so rare that we are on the blog at the same time.
Now I am talking to you as your mother. I am keeping track or how many posts you have read and how much time you have been at the computer. It's time for you to go and rest. I have to trust you because I am leaving the computer for a few hours. If I find out you have disobeyed me I will tell Hugh Grant. He and I will come up with a suitable punishment. Now do what MaMa says. You know I love you but when you disobey me I don't like you very much. So be good. Love, Mom
Woops should have been... effect...
That is for joey-spelling-police-in-Va-..
Where are you...??? just doing Hit and runs...???
Good Saturday morning wonderful Owls! I am doing the first day of spring break happy dance!
Zona....you came roaring back in style...first and all. Great to see you back here...hope your head is all better! Now listen to your Auntie Nort...don't be overdoing it!
Tinka...what a lucky granddaughter to have such a nice Grandma! Hope the party goes well today!
Jennifer...hang in there...from one single gal to another...there are frogs to be kissed before the sensitive new age prince (SNAP) arrives!
Dianne...hope the granddaughters are both feeling so much better and so are you! Lots of good thoughts to you all!
Carol...I think you definitely have ESP. I was just thinking about this great topic last night and was thinking about writing a blog about it. So glad it is the topic of the day! Thanks fearless leader! I agree with Tink that our city can be quite friendly and polite but I also see the other side. I have my little buddie Luke staying with me for a couple of nights to give his foster Mom a break. Luke is a sweet little guy who is totally blind and uses a white cane. For some reason the cane just brings out people's rudeness...yesterday in the grocery store people were stopping and staring at him and then would not move out of his way....he can't see them but they were so fixed on the fact that he is different that they create obstacles...doesn't he have enough obstacles in his life? And then, and I think this is a root of rudeness - people are in such a rush, always in a hurry..that they can't stop for one second to let him go by...they jump over his cane startling him because he doesn't know where they have come from and trip him and trip themselves. And last night coming out of the icecream place (Luke loves his french vanilla icecream!)he pushed the "handicap" button to open the door...there was another door right beside it that people could have gone through...and the couple behind me were pushing me to get by hence knocking Luke off balance because I was guiding him. When I turned and said POLITELY, "it just takes us a second to get through the door"...they huffed! Huffed! Makes me sooooo angry....sorry to vent here...but I don't care when people are rude to me, but it makes me see red when they are rude to "my kids"!
Checking back in!
Geez Vig! Unbelievable! What is wrong with people? I am afraid I would have had more to say than that to those people! Your post just makes me crazy!
I agree everyone is in such a rush! It really hits me when a driver passes me when I am doing the speed limit and then races on ahead! I just crack up and wave at them when I meet them up at the next traffic light! Morons!
What did they gain? Nothing in time or distance. Just stress and aggravation for them and me!
49
50... for MEK
I did just talk to MEK.. the birthday party a success ..and now off to lunch...
they had an early party...
She says to tell everyone in the nest Hello... and she misses you all...
zona
Congrats on first! Glad you are feeling better!
ibb
Thanks for the update on mek
so happy the party went well!
tinka
Enjoy your grand daughter's party
Kudos to you for helping out your daughter!
jennifer
It is not what is on the outside, it is what is on the inside that counts. If he can't see that, then shame on him.
mo
Skinny or Fat, you are a wonderful person! The time I spend with you getting to know you, is a treasure
didenver
So very sorry for the illness's that have come your way, positive thoughts from me to you!
I am going to the hair salon today to get these damn gray hairs colored...
Its like a job, every four weeks!!
Daily blogs are needed, I know I do these often, But I need your help, if anyone has anything to write about please do so..I would be grateful
VIG---
you are a saint...
I would be telling people ... well then I would be the rude one... but... you know what I mean...
Well off to work... hope it is busy tonight...
If I get off early enough I will bring pizza for late night snack!!!
Carol I get my hair colored every five weeks or I would look like my kid's grandma.
Lynn_D and IBB...thanks for your comments. I totally agree..I always want to tell the people who are rude to the students that I work with to put it where the sun don't shine. But then I think they aren't going to remember me saying that to them as much as they are going to remember that "little blind boy" and if i am polite to them, then maybe the next "little blind boy" they come across, they might be less "shocked" by and then less rude to.
Good morning all you lovely owls. Well, it is still morning for another half hour here in the west. I am just popping in after serving breakfast at the homeless shelter. Then I am helping to provide a late lunch for the cast and crew of Othello at the local theater where I usher.
Zona: Yay for #1 and that you are feeling better.
iteach: It is sad that the parents of a lot of children today don't respect the teachers. It make me wonder what kind of leaders we will have when those kids grow up. I don't think it is unique to your school, unfortunately.
Tinka: Have fun at your party
Barbara/WA: Good for you trying to subtly tell that woman about her cell phone conversation. I agree with Lynn, though, it probably didn't even register with her.
Mo: Retail has to be the most common arena to see rudeness, both in the customer and, sorry to say, the employee. I was in Macy's the other day and the employee was on a personal call on her cell phone and I had to wait for her to end her call before she rang up my purchase.
JennHofer: I agree with IBB. Maybe he was just giving you an out in case you didn't want to see him again. You are a beautiful person or our iteach wouldn't have brought you into our nest. We only have beautiful owls here.
Goldie: Glad your computer is up and running.
Dreama: I know you live in Texas, but it sounds like you are driving in New York.
VIG: Unbelievable! That's all I can say.
EBJ: Sharon has put August 30 on her calendar for the BABB.
Carol: Another great blog and a topic that is dear to my heart. My most recent encounter with rudeness was just last night when I got a call from a telemarketer. She was selling new thermal windows. I told her that I just replaced all my windows two years ago and she asked how much I paid for them. I said, it really didn't matter, as it was done now. Then she said her company could have saved me a lot of money (still not knowing how much I paid) and I said again, it was too late. Then she said "Well, you don't have to be a BITCH about it" and hung up. Now usually, I don't mind being called a bitch, but in this case it pissed me off. I was going to call back, but decided against it. I suppose she was having a bad day.
I hope you all have a good day. I will be back this evening to check in on you all. Waving a wing to all who post after me.
Happy Saturday Owls!
Zona: Congrats on 1st and thanks for the update on Dianne! So glad you're feeling better.
Dianne: Sending feel better hugs and prayers for you and your granddaughter.
Tinka: Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! Looking forward to seeing the pics.
Jennifer: {{Hugs}} Ditto to what others have already said. Someday your Prince will come, but until then, we'll be here to help you with the toads.
Cpgem: Thanks for a perfect topic, because I'm frustrated today with rudeness.
I've discovered that the cyber geek world can be a lonely and cruel place. I've been visiting some of their discussion forums, because I wanted to learn more about coding, but I feel like a guppy trying to swim with the sharks. I'm in awe of their knowledge, but geez, some of them can be brutal. I don't understand why it's necessary to be rude and make people feel stupid when they're just trying to learn.
Last night, I did get brave enough to ask a question in the MySpace forum, and I breathed a huge sigh of relief when the Katamari guy was kind enough to answer. I'm grateful for that. :)
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
Tinkatia
Can I be in trouble with Zonababy. I'll poop on the naughty mat or swizel down booze if Hugh Grant is my punishment. Oh and can Jon Bon Jovi also punish me.
Dreama: You wrote:
and at least 3 dates to open up
How wude! LOL!
I am still trying to decide if this fits the rude catagory.
Two of my friends got into a spat. One of them called me today and demands that I stop seeing the other friend of ours. Why am I now thrown into the middle of their spat? I understand that both of them had their feelings hurt by each other. Why can't they work it out without invloving me? I kind of feel like I have been suddenly tossed back into the third grade. Ahhh!
Zona Hurray, you're back! Congrats on number 1 today. When you wrote "BAD JOBS BLOG" I momentarily thought you wrote BAD BLOW JOBS. OMG, I was laughing so hard!!!! I think that's a subject for another blog! Maybe Tina could write it. LMAO
LynnD I must have laughed for 10 minutes after reading "Whoretina Hears a HOO".
I'm jealous. I want a HO name, too. Maybe I could be JUSTAHO.
JennHOfer So, it wasn't a love connection. You had a nice evening and maybe you made a new friend. Everyone we meet isn't the right one for us. That special person will come along when you least expect it.
I can't stand it when people let their children run wild in the store, restaurant, whatever. They act like they have no responsibility or control when it comes to their kids. I also hate it when cashiers carry on conversations with each other and never say a word to the customer. That is so "in your face" rude!
TINA - Just think.....April is only 2 weeks away!!! ;)
ZONA - Welcome back - and congrats on first!!!
VIG - I have no words......that's how upset your post made me.
JUST LIN - JUSTAHO!!! I now dub thee JUSTAHO!!! I love it!!!
JENNHOFER - I agree with what everyone else has said - HIS LOSS!!! You're a beautiful, funny, smart, vibrant woman - and don't you forget it!!! We only just "met", but I can tell these things about a person!!!
ITEACH - Glad you and MR. ITEACH enjoyed the bulletin and message!!!
DIANNE - Yeah.....um, it's NOWMERCY that's going to be 50!!!! You better back off the cold/flu meds :D
GOLDIE - Can't wait til Friday....still thinking on where. I'll let you know. It's a beautiful day for a walk with Pepper!!!
JUST LIN - I think you need a new prescription - it's better than that - it's WHORETINA BLOWS A HOO!!!
LYNN D - I seriously cannot stop laughing......I know....breathe, breathe!!! That's two days in a row.......THANK YOU!!!
This really doesn't go with today's topic - it's just the opposite. Last night we had a fundraising fish fry at my church for a little girl in our community that has brain cancer. She is only in 2nd grade. I tell ya.....last night has really restored my hope for people. The fish fry started at 4:30, and I got there @ about 5pm. There was already a line outside to the parking lot. Now mind you, we have had some milder temps this week, but NOT ONE PERSON COMPLAINED about the wait (probably waited 30 minutes to get inside). I can't wait to hear how many people showed up - I know they were prepared to serve 750 meals.
Just thought I'd throw a good story in with all the rudeness.
I've been in customer service about 25 years - and I just do what I do everyday.....kill 'em with kindness!!!
Hoping everyone has a good Palm Sunday - and a peaceful Easter Week. :)
Honababy~ Congrats on first~ and second...but did you have to use that picture? YIKES!!! and LITTLE GIRL? get real~
JennHofer~ If you are a rock, then I'm going to buy spray paint to graffiti you....what colors do you want? :D Besides....he's short! What if you actually stood next to him instead of the horizontal hustle? There is a nice guy out there for you....just don't take mine! :)~
JustaHo~ you seem to be doing a lot of laughing at my expense~ :)~ I may just take that little trip down to the ONT airport on the 24th at 2pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~ :D
CWarol~ don't you hate it when your hair dresser colors that gray line right where your roots are? I'm going on Monday~ :)
LynnHoD~ at least i get around...wait....i don't think that's a good thing~ :|
tinka~ have fun at your party (I just can't add ho to your name!) :)
goldieHo~ glad you are up and running~
MoHo~ could you move that snow so I can see your house?~ :)~
69~
Justlin: You will always be more than Justaho to me! LMAO
Just waving Hi to all! Roof still in disrepair!
Whabby LMAO! You trouble maker you!
Dreama: Yes your mean friend is being rude!!!
Sacbarb: I would have called back! Call me a bitch on the phone and I will go right to the top! I think you should still right a letter to the window company!
Hodi: Loved your story! I hope they made alot of money for that little girl!
Whoretina: Is your picture a purse?? I want one if it is! It took me days to figure it out! I kept thinking it was a camera!
Ok back to some chores!
Hodi I really did know it was "Whoretina Blows a Hoo" I just retyped it wrong.
Respectfully,
JUSTAHO
Whoretina You're so public with your 69's! And about the swallowing....TMI.
Thanks everyone for putting things into perspective for me! You know...I was wondering. Perhaps my size bothered him because he knew I could probably kick his butt! LOL!!!
I guess it was just a shock because he told me (last night) at least 3 times that he really wanted to take me out sometime (not just "get together"). I felt like he wanted to extend the evening because when our friend left (who introduced us) he asked if I wanted to go to another place. We talked more and had a nice time (and that was when he kept saying he wanted to take me out)! I guess I misunderstood. I let myself get too excited...
I guess I just don't "get" straight men!
My friend that set us up is a little upset with him too (because she thought the same thing when he invited me to go to another place)!
I guess I am a little out of practice with the whole dating scene. I met Bruce (my ex) when we were 19 and we got married when we were 21! We got divorced this last year (just shy of 17 years of marriage)!
Glad to know you owlettes will be here to help me with the toads! (Don't owls eat creatures like that?)!
I'm sure glad I joined this nest! It has been fun so far and I love all of you!!!
Hope you guys don't think I have been too much of a whiner! ...or should that be "wiener"...sigh...
I think I may need to get a bottle brush after all! (Do you think they make them with extra soft bristles??)
JUSTAHO!!! I know for a fact that TINAHO does not swallow!!! Although I keep telling her it's a better source of protein than those damn salami roll-ups she so loves. ;)
TINKA - The party sounds fun....we'll be waiting for those pics!!
jodi
The question I have for you is:
You stated as fact..So how the heck do you know Tina does not swallow?
Easy question!!!
tina
So funny no Ho in Tinka's name, I so agree! I could never do it either!
and speaking of tinka
How is the party going? Hope you took lots of pics!
JENNHOFER - I think the brushes I sent you have extra soft baby bristles!!! Scrub gently!! :P
CAROL - ok......I guess I really don't have confirmation.....just WORD OF MOUTH!!! lol!!
Back from a wonderful nap and a wonderful dream..or was it real? Hmmm..
LYNND: Did you really say "Whoretina Blows a Hoo??" OMG!! ROFL!
There is something weird about the produce section, cuz kids seem to always lose it there.
EBJ: Please let us know how Paula is.
IBB: I won't overdo it, promise! :)
BARB/WA: LOL at 13!!
TINKA: Dang. I turned the computer off immediately. You scared me! But..Hugh Grant is only a punishment to TINA..I would welcome him. :)
VIG: Your comment about "putting it where the sun don't shine" next to your avatar..just made me smile.
SACBARB: THANKYOU!! I think you know why! SWAK!
J/LIN: OMG! I was so tired, I actually went back and made sure I hadn't typed that!
TINA: With all your sweet innocence, LG just seemed to fit.. oh and congrats on yet another successful 69er!! ;)
JODI: {{HUGS}} just because..oh and Mr. Z says to tell you to 'shake your groove thing'..is there something I should know about? :)
MO: Strong boxes are out!!
AMICUS: You, a guppy? Uh-uh.
Waving Hi to all owls in absentia!
JODI: "word of mouth"??? ROFL!! I want to know what the word is!
Hi hooters!
Here is a fun (and addicting!) web site my mom sent me
http://www.millionairetv.com/game/index.html
Paula did well at her vet appt. this morning. She had her blood drawn, but we didn't hear from them before they closed :(
They were supposed to call and let us know the results, but I guess they forgot. I called them when I got home, but they were already closed.
My huz said our vet checked her out and felt her kidneys, and said she looks nice and healthy. She is eating good and very playful.
So, we will have to wait til Monday to find out the test results from today.
We will give her fluid tonight and continue for the time being. She is off antibiotics.
IBB please tell MEK hi for me and I miss her!
I am going to a job interview on Monday, it's for an on-call Hospice position. I am so excited, but trying to maintain! It's an area I've wanted to get into for a long time, and finally starting to explore the jobs.
Jennifer, you seem to fit right in here. Sorry your date turned out to be a douche, but hang in there and don't put yourself down.
There are lots of men who like their women with meat on their bones (like my huz) and there are lots of them out there!
Kgirl your comment about "height doesn't matter when you're horizontal" just cracked me up!!
I nominate that for comment of the day! Tooooo fuckin' funny.
SacBarb YAY so glad that Miss Sharon will attend the BABB. We will have a good old time!

LynnHoD~ it's a purse...isn't it the best...I especially like the seat belt~ :) and I love your names~ IbeaHo~ the best~
I'm at work~

TINAHOinUT...nope HoMo would be less right then MoHo!
Do you go to Capistrano with the "swallows" return? LOL
NoHoMo~ I usually go every March~ Sis turns 40 on Wednesday~ This it the first year I'm not~ How did you know? :)
OMG!!! I am SO confused now!!! I'm STILL trying to get it straight with who is who in here!!!
Or should I say "ho" is "ho"?
...OK...not that funny...I tried...!
I feel much better after working out at the gym! I figured, I don't have any room to complain if I am not trying to do anything about the things I don't like about myself!
But WHY can't exercising be more fun?!
HOTINA: Ya know, ya do...just a little, everytime...;)

MOHO: Wouldn't you agree..HOTINA can't really avoid it...? I want to be the first to LMAO for real! ;)
JENHOFER: Confusion here can be so much fun..:)
LynnD
thank you for clarifying for me that my friend is rude and mean. Now I feel better. I spent this evening wondering how I got swept up in the middle and I felt bad. When you referred to my friend as te mean friend that made me laugh. Now I feel better.
OK, I have to go to Myspace and see what animal rescue bulletins I have. Adopt a pet everyone :0)
Oh and free movies at
ww.hulu.com
Wow, there are a lot of "Ho's" in the nest tonight...
Fun being a "Ho" however I think I prefer "crackwhore" much more
mysterious!!!
I thought I would check back and see what was happening at the HO down! LOL
Dreama: Your welcome! My son had a friend when he was little that was not very nice and he would call him his mean friend! A real friend would not make you choose sides.
MoHo: I called you by your name this morning so I did not put you on the list! HOmek Cracks me up to!I will email you tomorrow. I am exhausted. Just going to go veg out in bed and watch TV.
Sweet Dreams Hodi!
Whoretina: Hope you found that diet Peepi, oops I mean Pepsi!
Gem8HO aka Crackwhore (((Hugs))) at ya!
Oh my goodness...
Well a formal hello to Tink and Amicus...
And to all you other Ho's, get in line so I can ummmm ah... nevermind.
And ZonaHO....if I kept track of all of my 69's there would be no disputing my HO status...lol
Just a thought, maybe Tink and Amicus could be madams in our little ho house.
Does anyone know a Love Puppy? They are requesting to be a friend and I don't know who it is.
Ooops! I meant Puppy Love. Anybody know who that is?
Just Lin
I approved the friend request for Puppy Love and they aren't from the Night Owls. I thought they were from animal rescue because I found them on my my Doberman rescue friends page. However the photos that Puppy Love has are all copied and pasted. Something isn't smelling right.
Just Lin
I am totally confused about Puppy Love. They left me a very kind comment. You can read it. Maybe they have my page confused and think all of my friends are from animal rescue. I think only I and Outoftune blog and do animal rescue. Scratching my head on this one?
Puppy love is probably spam... don't accept them....
And .....
IBEAHO....
what is this ... I go off to work... by the way ..where I DELIVER!!!!
I come back ..and I'm a ho..
Oh well... If you can't beat them ... (Not a word Tina)...
Might as welll join them!!!
IbeHO~ apparently....you CAN beat em~ :)~
O.K.... About Tina and the swallow thing.... this a funny true story...
I did wedding photography for 2 years...
Right before teh ceremony would start... I would ask teh bride..."Do you know why the bride is smiling when she walks down the aisle???"...tehy just look at me...and I say... "It's because she knows she doesn't have to give head anymore...."
I would get the best smiles in my pictures!!!
Zona~ In absentia here LOL!!
Ho-lly cow! What have all of you been up to while I been awol?
Must be the NY Gov. has all of you ho-ing around! LOL!!
I must be Mary/MI-ho!
Diane~ {{Hugs}} to you and your Grand Daughter. Get better gal!
IBB~I liked your comment to Jennifer.
I am a romantic and try to give the benefit of the doubt.
Zona~ I hope you are taking yo-Mamma's (tinka-not-a-ho) advice!
Dreama~ I had a friend ask me to do that once when I was in my 20's! I looked her straight in the face and asked her , would she quit seeing one of her friends for me too please. That's all it took for her to see what position she had placed me in!
EastBay~I am so glad Paula is doing better. I'm sure the tests will be fine. Good luck on the new job. My Bro & SIL both have full time jobs connected to Hospice in Ohio.
The THe The ... see I really can do it...
IBB~ you forgot THEY!!! :)~ and that was funny~ :D
Hi MerryHO~
125~
Tina--I thought so...
Hey LynnHOD...
Mary/mi ho...lol...
Tina~ Are you referring "beating" to some kind of pleasure thumping???
EBJ---
Glad the doc said things "felt" good...For paula...
and I will tell MEK Hi from you... She should be back tuesday night... that hotel has internet..
MAry/mi--- you know she is... it is Tina after all...
IBB!Whenever the "blow" subject comes up in friends conversations I always tell them that my Mother told me "once you are married, you don't have to do the Ca-Ca anymore!" My mother who was very religious would have been mortified!
Dreama~ I hope you delete the Puppy person. I never add anyone unless they leave a note stating they are from the nest or have been referred from someone here.
That reminds me, Welcome to the nest & my / myspace Jennifer!
Hey Ho's!!
I just got a friend request from Puppy Love, too. I tried to look at the page to see if I could figure it out...and it is set to private. I sent a message and asked them to tell me who they were before I would accept or deny. The person wrote back with some b.s and said that I would get my answers when I looked at their page...which I can't do cause it is private!! so the DENY option it is!!!
People who work for hospice are ANGELS..... And there are not enough of you....
I live in a small town... I have a friend who worked hospice... she had a little baby... 18 month old...
and she had a man commit suicide while she at the house...
The man called her and asked her to come over... his son was there.. the man told my friend and his son that he needed to go get something from the bedroom...he was in the bedroom and they heard the pop...
And just couldn't believe it...
they think he called her so his son wouldn't be accused of killing the father...
too much...
ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!
HOSPICE== ANGELS!!!!!
Yes deny puppy it is then!!!
Sorry I got so deep...
Ibebold
yeah, I was thinking a SPAMMER also but the profile isn't musicians. It's just dogs. Very odd.
Mary/Mi
that's a good one. I haven't had a friend try to be the boss of my life since I was in High School. The last one was my best friend and she told me to choose her over my new boyfriend who I loved madly. I told her that I chose him. Next thing I know she's getting migraines and blaming them on me. I felt bad that she was having migraines, but he was my first love. ...sigh..
I went back and deletd Puppy Love. That is so wierd. I saw that they were on one of my rescue friends page so I figured they were legit. Yikes. I never knew that SPAMMERS left hand written comments. She/ he/it even used my name...shudder...ewww!
Dreama-- just ask your friend...
Would you want me to do that for her ( the other friend) if she asked... she will see she is being childish..
Good evening Owlettes,
I was just reading and catching up on all the comments and all of a sudden I saw I've been turned into a Ho. LMAO
With this many Ho's standing around, we probably look like saturday night on the corner of Main Street. I need to dig out my fish-net hose, mini skirt and cheap perfume and get in on the action.
Carol, great blog. I agree, sometimes it's better to not say anything, but I have been known to respond back.
Zona, congrats #1 and feeling a little better.
Dianne, I hope your family get's all this sickness behind you soon. Now you, the nurse, is down. Take care of yourself.
Ho-Ho-Ho-, Isn't that who Santa calls for every December?
Ho, indeed...my children would be so proud of their mother earning a little something extra for a rainy day. LMAO
Ronnie--- too funny --earning a little extra for the kids...
good looking out!!!
Rudeness,
The nail salon I have been going to for about 8 or 9 years is owned by a really sweet vietnamese (I don't know how to spell that) lady. Well, all her techs. are the same as she and they visit with each other in their own language. Well, a few years ago I was kidding Dawn, the nail tech, that they were talking about me and she would always laugh. Now it's a joke when I walk in...."Ms. Ronnie's here, we have to speak English.
That is so rude when someone speaks a foreign language in front of their paying customers and you are the only non-speaking vietnamese in there. Actually, it p.o.'s me a lot. They don't do that to me anymore, but you hear it elsewhere.
TinaHo~~
Where's EuniceHo?
Is she hanging out on Main Street?
Dreams, now that was rude! LOL!
My rude pet peeve is people that park right next to signs that say NO PARKING / FIRE LANE ! I see it all the time. Drives me crazy especially when I hobble from across the parking lot to do quick errands. I know they may be picking up some one with a disability , but most are just rude. I have seen young people park in a no parking zone to run in for cigs. or pizza (sorry IBB lol)
150??????
150???????
Ronniegrl~ My nail salon is run by all of "oriental persuasion". It drives me crazy too! I would love to rattle off a bunch of Spanish and look like I am talking about them, but that would me RUDE LOL!!
150???????
Mary/mi-- thats O.K.... I am probably the only pizza dcelivery person that parks in parning spaces and walks in... most park out front...
and our parking lot at work.... small... so on a Friday night... you take your life in your hands trying to get in and out...
amd teh rudness I encounter there is... they park up all our exits... it is hard enough getting in and out the only three ways we can...
150???????
Mo-Ho now way !!!
i get 150...
Mo-Ho now way !!!
i get 150...
150??????????
OK, "that would "BE" rude!!
Don't hate me.. I learned from the best!!!
Mary,
You reminded me of a time at Home Depot when I was circleing the parking lot looking for a space to park. There was a perfectly healthy man about 35 years old loading a huge cart of 2x4's in his pick-up truck, that was parked in a handicapped zone. Rude, I should say so...and in the meanwhile a wheelchair patient came wheeling up behind him to gt to the door. This time I HAD to say something. I stopped and asked the lumber loading man if he was handicapped and he told me to go to hell. He wasn't handicapped, pluse he loaded a at least 20 2x4's in the truck.
RUDE and no consideration for anyone else.
Hanging my rude head in shame!!!
HOt damn IbeaHO!!
Frickin dial-up!! I can't march like the HOmek Sisters!!!
CONGRATS IBB!!
I can tell by that horrible typing, I need to go to bed.
Sorry, but y'all knew what I was trying to say. lol
IBB~My son was a pizza delivery person when he was in school. He used to tell me horror stories about all the parking & customer problems. He was even robbed once! Be careful out there!
Mary/mi--
Thank you... I am very careful.. thanks...
Mo-Ho- thanks fro the congrats..
I am right there with Ronnie... Fingers aren't working...( Joey would have a blast with me tonight...)
So good night all you lovely OWLETTES!!!
Sleep tight...
Well, I'm not leaving, ibbHo.
Y'all just have to decode it...lol
Maureen!HOMEK sisters rotflmao!!
I saw my typos, but then I noticed everyone else has a few of them too. Is it a lack of reading glasses in here or is the liqour flowing?! I have on my reading glasses and am drinking bottled water so I have no excuse that I can come up with except sloppy fingers. :0)
When I lived in L.A and managed this one store, I had a large number of employees that English was their second language. Most of the cashiers were Philipino and spoke it ALL the time. Customer's and employees complained. I had to tell them that they had to speak English while at the cashier station. If they continued to speak Philipino to each other in front of customers they would be fired. They made English their primary language really quick!!
And I refuse to go to a salon where they do that...I would rather do my own nails then feel self-conscious.
169???
169????????
169?????????
Oh, I got an email from Mek last night and she really loves the Tex-Mex food. I told her she better watch out and not get diarrhea cause it would really ruin her trip.
169~
169?????????
SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!!!
I HATE DIAL UP!!!!
I am heading to bed. I worked all day at our VFW steak fry. It was a great success! We had T-bone steaks with baked potato, salad bar, home made rolls & desert. The bar did very well too. We had a lot of help, but being there 8 hrs on my feet pooped me out! Good night sweet owlhoes!!!
Mo's a Ho!
LOL, you gals sure are enlivened with the number 69.
I have to go to bed . It's way past midnight here.
Goodnight y'all.
HORTINA...how the hell did you do that?????????????????????????????
Night, Dreama
Moho...it was just a hit and run Ho Thing she did.
nighters dreamaho and ibeaho and Mary/MiHo!
rHOnnie...and proud of it!!!!!
Nighty night, Mary...don't eat any fish and drink milk. LMAO
Night ibbHO
MoHO, that sounds like beef-a- rHonnie!
Didn't I read that CarolHo was going to drop off a snack? Maybe she's having such a good time and out playing late, or working the corner with the regulars. LOL
Well, I'm going to go have a talk with TomHo at myspace about how to run his company. See y'all tomorrow. Nighty night!!
MoHo~ i did it in between calls~ that's talent~ :)~
Yes...do delete that "puppy love" and don't accept anyone that can't say who they are!!!
I had a weird thing today...I had someone TEXT my CELL PHONE saying that they saw my profile and wanted to know if I felt like chatting! (I thought it might have been my dud of a date last night so I said maybe...but realized that I didn't know this person when I logged onto the site they gave me)! I don't know HOW they could have gotten my CELL PHONE NUMBER!!! That kind of freaks me out (as I am SURE I don't have it ANYWHERE)! Unless it was someone else's old number???
I think we need a score-card to keep track of every ho's name...I am so confused!
LOL!!!
I do like the idea of laughing my ass off as counting as exercise!
You know...maybe if they offered free massages after a work-out, it JUST might get me to the gym more (esp. if some beefy guy was the one doing the "rubbing"!
Or how about a vibrating exercise bike or weight bench....
.....sigh....
jenHOfer...I once joined a gym and the only thing that got a workout was my wallet and my bank account got slimmer!!!!!!!
Your right...maybe if a hunky dude was there for free massages I may try that again!
This night owl is going night night!
See y'all tomorrow!
hmmmmmmm~
i think I can get rid of the ugly guy with his shirt off!~
just keep going........
keep trying..........
just think ho~
which is what I think when I see him~
have I mentioned that I don't like working on a Saturday?~
but I get over a week off in April~
I'll just keep thinking of that~
almost...........
200~
